You can take the fame, the glory and all the endorsements you want. I'll take my $35million -- and my clean bill of health --for throwing 20 passes a year. Daniel, now the backup QB for the Lions, might be the most efficient money-maker in NFL history.
He just signed a three-year, $13 million deal with Detroit, the fourth $10+ million contract of his career. And he's started five games over10 seasons. He'll make more cash this year than Andy Dalton, who's started 133 games over nine seasons.
Why are we talking about this now? Because Daniel's banking resume is so impressivehe was trending on Twitter Thursday morning.
Officially, Daniel has made about $34 million in his career. (He'll be close to $50 million by the time he's done in Detroit.) Start doing the math, and it's baffling how far he's stretched his talents.He's earned about $230K per completion, $476K per first down, and$4.9 million per touchdown.
Sure, Brady's banked$235 million, but only about $39K per completion. The dude's working too hard. At Daniel's rate, Brady would have about $1.5 billion -- with a 'B' -- in his pocket. C'mon, Tom. Smarten up.
Daniel actually had to earn his keep the past two seasons in Chicago. Backing up Mitch Trubisky, he was forced into three starts, including a win at Ford Field on Thanksgiving in 2018. He outdueled Matthew Stafford that day, completing 27 of 37 passes for 230 yards and two touchdowns. That helped knocked down his rate with the Bears to about $100K per completion.

In Detroit, Danielshould get back to working smart. Stafford saw his streak of 136 straight starts snapped last season, but he's poisedto start a new one. That's good news for Daniel, who has a clipboard, an earpiece and a few moremillion waiting for him on the sidelines.
