Its not uncommon for former government officials or politicians to enter academia when they leave Washington.

Former Rep. Ron Paul has gone a few steps further by creating his very own curriculum.

The Texas Republican, libertarian hero and three-time presidential candidate aims to teach home-schooled students four core tenets: liberty vs. coercion, how to defend the freedom philosophy, what it takes for success in college, and how to start a home business.

The courses, available at ronpaulcurriculum.com, are free through fifth grade. They will rely on primary source texts rather than the traditional textbooks used in American public schools.

Textbooks are screened by committees. They dumb down the material, said Gary North, the director of curriculum development for the Ron Paul curriculum and a former research assistant to the congressman during his time in office.

By the end of the curriculum, Mr. North said, your child should be able to do the following: speak in public and speak confidently; write effectively; run a website; operate a YouTube channel; understand mathematics and have mastered other skills, including an understanding of freedom, liberty and the foundations of the American government and economy.

On the curriculum website, Mr. Paul also offers his own 100 percent money-back guarantee if parents arent satisfied with the courses.

I am confident that most students will see the value of it. But no one can please everyone, as I discovered in Congress, Mr. Paul said.

Parents can enroll their children beginning on Sept. 2, according to the website.
