T #39;ang Quartet #39;s UPsized Christmas - Trailer
Of course size matters! Which is why the T #39;ang Quartet has beautifully gift-wrapped an entire evening of music and merriment even Santa and his elves would be proud of. Some tantalising highlights: The essence of Hindemith, a self-declared "joke-loving musician" will be conveyed through the T #39;ang Quartet #39;s rendition of Minimax, a parody of pompous musicians and military music. More chuckles come in the form of Shostakovich #39;s Polka, from The Golden Age ballet, a satirical take on the political and cultural scene in 1920s Europe, with exaggerated, politically incorrect characters thrown in to up the hilarity quotient. And of course, Christmas won #39;t be Christmas without Silent Night and Let It Snow. So, join in this UPsized Christmas celebration of classical pieces and yuletide favourites, of sass and sentimentality... no prezzies required! (But do bring your own eggnog.) UPsized Christmas is on 22 December 2012, 7.30pm at the Esplanade Concert Hall.
