Fords electrification push is taking a big step forward with the unveiling of the all-new E-Transit Custom.

Billed as an all-electric successor to Europes best-selling van, the E-Transit Custom is a head turner in a segment where boring typically rules the day.

The bold design instantly stands out as the van has an expressive face with a studded grille, which is flanked by LED headlights that are connected by an illuminated bar. Theyre joined by a sculpted bumper and a front-mounted charging port.

The rest of the van is more conventional, but it eschews slab-sided styling for soft, subtle curves. We can also see a generous wheelbase, a flowing shoulder line, and pronounced wheel arches. The modern styling continues out back with stylish LED taillights and a classier rear end with double-doors.

Ford is keeping specifications under wraps, but said the van rides on a no-compromise all-electric architecture and is targeted to have a range of up to 236 miles (380 km). It will also have a DC fast-charging capability, the ability to tow, and ProPower Onboard technology just like the F-150 Lightning. The latter will enable owners to use the van as a portable generator to power lights, tools, and other equipment on job sites.

While thats not much to go on, the company said the van has been designed to set a new benchmark in Europes one-tonne van segment and help businesses across the region to effortlessly make the change to electrified vehicles. The automaker added it will be supported by Ford Pro software, charging, service and financing solutions via one comprehensive platform to help increase uptime and reduce operating costs.
