Network and datacentre optimisation appliance vendor, Ixia, is pursuing Australian footprint expansion with the appointment of Digital Networks Australia (DNA) as its first local distributor.

Ixia is a Californian company which manufactures appliance to provide visibility into physical and virtual networks in order to improve security and optimise monitoring tool performance.

According to a statement from Ixia, the vendor selected DNA as it understands the technical requirements of its product portfolio, and can assist partners and customers with deployments.

I found DNA to be a formidable fit to represent the Ixia network visibility business, Ixia Australia and New Zealand (A/NZ) country manager, Gaurav Sheel, said. DNA share a synergy with us that complements the technology, customer focus and beliefs of Ixia.

Moving forward, DNA will be responsible for creating opportunity within the channel by marketing to end users, particularly the technical engineers who will understand the products proposition.

Many organsations have invested heavily in monitoring solutions including sniffers, protocol analysers, storage devices, application performance monitors and intrusion detection systems (IDS), DNA director, Munsoor Khan said.

The challenge in large complex networks is to ensure every monitoring system receives the data it needs to be able to rapidly respond to network events and security incidents. Ixias network monitoring switch intelligently connects the datacentre network with monitoring tools to aggregate, filter, load balance and deduplicate network traffic.
