priming experiment on human trafficking issue: student research presentation
University of Georgia Grady College advertising doctoral student Olesya Venger presents her paper on human trafficking in the fall 2012 semester of Political Communication (JRMC 8160), taught by Dr. Kaye Sweetser. Using a post-test only control group design (N = 895, with control group), this study investigated the impact of visual priming onto the public attitudes regarding human trafficking and prostitution, two attributes of the immigration issue. As a result of the study, censorship of the photos within adult service advertisements and their authorship have not yielded any statistically significant impact on the public attitudes regarding human trafficking and acceptability of prostitution. The study discusses implications of these findings and offers suggestions for development of priming and second level agenda-setting theory research.From:kayesweetserViews:1 0ratingsTime:13:26More inEducation
