Athens Tech set to expand with new $13.1 million industrial technology facility – Online Athens

Athens Technical College is set to begin construction on a $13.1 million Industrial Systems Technology building.

Funding for the facility was includedin Gov. Brian Kemp's budget for the next fiscalyear.

Athens Tech's new 45,000-square-foot building,scheduled for completion by the end of next year,will include classrooms and labs for air conditioning technology, industrial systems technology and mechatronics programs. It will also house economic development programs.

We are excited for the opportunity to expand our learning space and give students room to train with the latest industry equipment, said Athens Technical College President Andrea Daniel in a news release. It wouldnt be possible without the support from Governor Kemp and our local legislators. This is a giant leap forward in preparing our students for a variety of in-demand jobs, and it will help us expand our commitment to continuing education.
