The online casinos in West Virginia had an incredible showing in October and set a new best for monthly revenue. They generated over $6.4 million in earnings, beating the previous mark by around $1.7 million.

Not only did the Mountain States online casinos bring in at least $1 million during each week, they saw more than $2.1 million in revenue to start the month.

September had two weeks with fewer than $900,000, but October was much improved. Its lowest week still netted well over $1.2 million.

While the state recently added a new platform in Caesars Casino WV, it wasnt live for long enough to create an impact last month. Caesars released in late October and only provided a few days of betting figures to the report.

Thats probably a good sign for Novembers forecast.

Along with a surge of revenue came a massive increase in handle. WV online casinos accepted about $198 million in wagers for the month.

This is a rise of around $19 million from September, which held the prior record.

Casinos took in over $50 million in weekly bets twice after never reaching that point before.

Lets take a closer look at the performance from each individual casino.

Overall, revenue grew by 37% compared to September.

Octobers opening week contributed a lot toward the profitable month. It surpassed $2.1 million in revenue, which was about $400,000 more than the previous weekly high from Sept. 11.

This was the only other time earnings topped $1.7 million.

Following a month in which it actually dropped down to second place, The Greenbrier reclaimed the top spot in October. Its two betting apps in BetMGM Casino WV and FanDuel WV accounted for almost $3.6 million in revenue.

This was a strong recovery for the two after being around $2 million a month ago.

The online options received at least $630,000 in profits every week, including nearly $1.5 million to begin the month.

Hollywood Casino and its DraftKings WV finished second this time. Its earnings were nearly identical to Septembers at around $2.1 million.

Although DraftKings didnt hit $500,000 in weekly revenue as consistently, it did make up for it. The online casino took in almost $700,000 for the week of Oct. 16.

Mountaineer placed third, however, it had a great showing. It saw its online revenue improve by about $230,000 with BetRivers Casino WV. It completed the month with $730,000.

The online casino failed to reach $200,000 in weekly revenue before October, but exceeded it twice last month. This is an encouraging sign for Mountaineer as it should start seeing even more production with Caesars in the rotation.

The states online casino handle took a sizable jump, as well. The $198 million was a 10% increase when looking at the month prior.

Besides the first two weeks with over $50 million, there was never a lull in bets. The worst week still recorded close to $45 million in handle.

If WV casinos can continue to take wagers like this, then its likely the revenue will also keep climbing.

To no surprise, The Greenbrier remained in first for monthly handle. Its comfortable lead over the competition actually grew, as FanDuel and BetMGM took more than $107 million in bets.

This is about $12 million more than last month.

The two platforms received at least $23 million each week, with their best totaling over $30.5 million.

Hollywood was a distant second for October, with just shy of $71 million in handle. Similar to its revenue results, last month was basically a mirror image of September.

October actually had about $160,000 fewer in wagers.

DraftKings weekly breakdown was even somewhat alike, with one week topping $20 million.

Mountaineer came in last for handle, despite producing a lot more. Its BetRivers app brought in about $5.9 million more than it did last month with a total of over $19.5 million.

The online casinos handle had never hit $4 million in weekly wagers, but did so three separate times in October. It even eclipsed $5 million twice, with around $5.8 million for the week of Oct. 16.

As noted, the arrival of Caesars in November should help close the gap between Mountaineer and the other WV casinos.
