A lawmaker in Russia has become the latest guest on Kremlin-backed television to warn of a missile strike on a European capital, naming the city that he believes should be Moscow's first target should World War Three break out.

Andrey Gurulyov, a former deputy commander of Russia's southern military district, made the comment during a discussion about Lithuania's blockade of the neighboring Russian exclave of Kaliningrad.

Moscow has threatened to retaliate after Vilnius enforced sanctions of embargoed goods transiting and entering the Russian Baltic Sea territory.

Gurulyov dismissed the idea of supplying Kaliningrad by snatching a corridor from Belarus to Lithuania because Russian troops would be flanked on two sides by NATO.

Instead, he raised the prospect of invading the Baltic in his strategy which included reverting the Lithuanian capital Vilnius back to its former identity as Vilno, and Estonian capital Tallinn back to its tsarist identity as Reval.

Both Estonia and Lithuania are NATO countries and any invasion by Russia would trigger Article 5, potentially causing a Third World War, which Gurulyov said the west would have no stomach for.

"We'll destroy the entire group of enemy's space satellites during the first air operation, he told the program Vremya Pakazhet (Time will Tell) on Wednesday.

"No-one will care if they are American or British, we would see them all as NATO," he said, adding, that Russia would then "mitigate the entire system of anti-missile defense" and that "we certainly won't start from Warsaw, Paris or Berlin.

"The first to be hit will be London. Without doubt the threat to the world comes from the Anglo-Saxons," he said as he warned that Russia would target critically important sites that would cut off power to Europe.

He said that the U.S. would then have to tell western Europe to continue fighting "in the cold without food and electricity."

A clip of the comments was shared by Ukrainian internal affairs adviser, Anton Gerashchenko, who wrote, "London is "first to be hit" if WW3 starts, says Andrey Gurulyov, Putin's close political ally. But what about the families of Russian politicians and oligarchs who live in #London?"

Panelists on Russian state TV channels have made repeated threats of missile strikes against capitals of European countries that back Ukraine in its war with Vladimir Putin's troops.

This scenario of escalation has gained traction since Russia's successful test of the Sarmat intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) which TV guests have emphasized can reach London in two minutes. A direct confrontation between Moscow and NATO in the Ukraine war are frequent talking points.

Gurulyov now serves as a deputy in Russia's parliament in the ruling United Russia party. He reportedly has close ties to Vladimir Putin and was one of the Duma deputies sanctioned by the United States Treasury sanctioned a month after Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine.

He has expressed firebrand views before, telling another Kremlin propaganda channel Russia-1 this month that Russia was ready for a "big colossal war."

The ongoing war in Ukraine and the cost of living crisis dominate peoples fears. According to a regular Government poll that tracks public opinions and social trends in the UK, 78% of adults were worried about the Russian invasion of Ukraine and 74% about the rising cost of living.

That has outstripped people's immediate fears about the environment (55%), new coronavirus variants (47%), and the impact of the pandemic on their lives at present (36%). The Ukraine war - as well as contributing to the cost of living crisis by driving up fuel and energy costs - has raised the chilling prospect of World War III, and pushed relations with Russia back to the days of the Cold War.

The terrifying vision of all-out nuclear war has even been raised by threats emanating from the Kremlin. Dmitry Kiselov - the Russian TV presenter sometimes referred to as President Vladimir Putins mouthpiece - warned an underwater missile hitting the UK would produce a 500m-high tsunami and leave the nation as a radioactive desert.

At the same time, horrific images of death and destruction in Ukraine continue to be broadcast into peoples homes on the TV news. According to the Office for National Statistics (ONS) survey, 31% of respondents are very worried and 47% are somewhat worried about the war in Ukraine. Only 4% said they were not at all worried.

And it seems most people are preparing themselves for a long conflict - 42% of respondents believe the war will last for more than a year, while only 9% believe it will be over in between one and six months. Meanwhile, 28% of respondents said they were very worried about the rising cost of living and 46% said they were somewhat worried.

Of all those who said they had concerns about rising costs (including those who said they were neither worried nor unworried), 21% said they felt anxious about money troubles every day. And those fears are clearly justified. Around nine in 10 adults (88%) reported in June that their daily costs had risen over the past month - which was the same proportion as respondents to the same survey in May.

The most common reasons given by adults who reported increases in their weekly and daily bills were price rises when food shopping (94%), gas or electricity (85%), and fuel (77%). Almost half of adults who responded to the survey (46%) said they had reduced the amount of food they bought over the past two weeks - and the proportion of people making cuts to their shopping has increased over time. In May 44% said they had cut back on their food spending, while at the beginning of the year only 18% said they had started buying less.

We are already in the midst of World War Three and if Vladimir Putin succeeds with his "special operation" in Ukraine "all bets are off," according to chess grand master and political activist Garry Kasparov.

Kasparov, who was beaten and arrested by Russian police for protesting in front of the courthouse where the women of the punk band Pussy Riot were on trial in 2012, said Putin threatens democracy worldwide.

"This is already World War III. And this is not just a war against Ukraine; Vladimir Putin is attacking the very foundation of the world we used to live since World War II. And if he succeeds in Ukraine, all bets are off," the 59-year-old said on podcast The Megyn Kelly Show.

At one point in the chat, host Megyn Kelly asks Kasparov whether she thinks Putin has become a "madman" who "has lost his mental faculties in a way we haven't seen before now," and the Azerbaijan-born figure says "absolutely".

"Look, he's been in power for 22 years, it's a long time even for the most intelligent person with the noblest intentions, that could be very damaging.

"And Putin was not one of these kind of guys. His education came from the streets of Leningrad and from KGB school and for the last few years he has been increasingly isolated, as every dictator he has a very small, ever-shrinking inner circle."

Kasparov added that Putin, 69, doesn't trust internet and open sources, which means he relies on information brought to him by this inner circle, and so "his vision of the world is outdated."

Kasparov added: "And Putin believes that violence is a necessary tool to rule, whether his own subjects, or imposing his will to other countries.

"That's why we should not be surprised that his favourite historical characters are Joseph Stalin and Ivan the Terrible.

"That's the way he sees himself, a man above the law. A man who is the law. He feels that with one finger he can push the red button and destroy the entire world."

Kasparov's comments come as Putin repeatedly warned that Russia has, and will use "if necessary", nuclear weapons.

"He said it already, a year ago, if we have a war all will die like dogs and we will go to heaven," the chess legend continued.

"It shows the mental instability of this person and I have been saying all along, forget about Putin, it's not about him, it's about sending a message to people around him. Those who haven't lost their minds, and who value their lives.

"Only now did the free world come to the conclusion that we are dealing with a mad man. Imagine Adolf Hitler in a Berlin bunker in 1945, imagine if he had this red button, do you have any doubts that he would push it?"

Vladimir Putin is a "mad man getting madder by the moment" and could spark World War 3 according to a former Conservative MP.

As the Kremlin leader has made increased threats of nuclear attack against Europe, the former chief Treasury Secretary David Mellor said the Russian President had been corrupted by his own desire for absolute power.

Mr Mellor's analysis comes as the Kremlin has renewed threats of nuclear strikes against international allies of Ukraine, including the UK among other European nations.

The former MP, who served under former Prime Minister John Major, added to the increased anxiety which has been felt among military analysts as President Putins war in Ukraine rages on and Moscows threats of aggression against global nations continue to grow more severe.

He added: If he really is dying of various diseases that have lined up to get him, would he like to take the rest of us with him?

Mr Mellor said that the only real defence against a nuclear attack from Russia is the promise of mutually assured destruction, meaning the UK would launch a nuclear counterattack on Moscow.

A nuclear launch would therefore effectively eradicate civilisation as we know it, creating a devastating loss on a global scale.

Mr Mellor suggested President Putins bold discussion of nuclear weapons is a signal of the Russian leaders ill-health as he is acting with little consideration for his own wellbeing.

Analysts have suggested that Vladimir Putin could be suffering from some form of terminal health condition, evidenced by several symptoms observed during his recent public appearances.

President Putin has appeared pale and unbalanced, even shown to be walking with a limp during some official events, fuelling rumours that his physical health is not as strong as the Kremlin suggests it to be.

In a Kremlin meeting on Tuesday, President Putin placed renewed focus on the Satan II nuclear missile developed by Russia.

The RS-28 Sarmat missile, also referred to as Satan II, is capable of reaching the UK shores in just three minutes.

Ukrainian media organisation Ukrainska Pravda reported information initially covered by Russian state-owned publication RIA Novosti, which recorded Putins core statements from the meeting.

President Putin said the successful testing of the Sarmat heavy intercontinental ballistic missile had been carried out and planned it to be on combat duty by the end of the year.

Nostradamus wrote: "Seven months of the Great War, people dead of evil-doing. Rouen, Evreux shall not fall to the King."

Many of his followers believed that it could be refer to a global conflict following Vladimir Putins invasion of Ukraine on February 24.

But detailing the French city of Rouen, that sits 125 miles from the Calais, it would appear that not all places would be directly affected.

He also wrote of a "Celestial fire on the Royal edifice" with many interpreters believing it could refer to the "end of times" or the start of a new world order.

The theory comes amid a string of prophecies by the Frenchman, including when, where and how the world could dramatically end.

This year, he reportedly predicted a war in Europe despite it directly concerning the French capital of Paris, according to interpretations.

The astrologer died well over 450 years ago, but his prophecies have continued to amaze those who follow his work.

Ukraine, however, has assured the US and confirmed it will not use the long-range missiles for those purposes.

Vladimir Putin's close ally has issued a warning to the west that 'World War 3' is coming.

"There will be a nuclear war."

Referring to Mr Mikheyev's words, Channel 1 host also added: "I'm sick of them [the west].

"Reading about whatever they come up with next, like their new lists of sanctions.

"If you want war with us, then declare war. We will strike the decision-making centres, and those are not in Kyiv.

"We knew that our adversary is NATO, and all our weapons were developed not merely for Ukraine but for a confrontation with the NATO bloc.

"We could spit on whatever they send to Ukraine".

Russian TV continues to make insane threats of nuclear annihilation of the West as Russia's atrocities on Ukraine shows no sign of ending anytime soon.

This month saw the high-profile presenter Dmitrii Kiselyov threaten Britain with devastating nukes, bragging that Russia could launch a Poseidon nuclear torpedo on the UK.

The presenter, who has been dubbed "Putin's mouthpiece", said that it would unleash a tsunami which would "plunge the British Isles into the depths of the sea".

It was added that such an attack would also turn the UK into a "radioactive desert".

The terrifying threats come after pro-Putin filmmaker Karen Shakhnazaro threatened the opponents of the Russian war in Ukraine with cruel punishments such as "concentration camps and sterilisation" in a broadcast on tinpot Russian state TV.

He added any "opponents to the letter Z" (a symbol of Russia's invasion) will face "no mercy".

Shakhnazaro made the chilling threat on state-owned television channel Russia 1 and said that anyone who plans to aid Ukraine from the West will be tortured.

"The opponents of the letter Z must understand that if they are counting on mercy, no, there will be no mercy for them," he declared.

"It's all become very serious. In this case, it means concentration camps, re-education and sterilisation."

Shakhnazarov later alleged that his remarks has been taken out of context but failed to give further explanation.

And in another terrifying threat, a top Russian politician has bragged about Vladimir Putin's ability to wipe out the UK in just 200 seconds with SATAN nuclear missiles.

Aleksey Zhuravlyov, 59, boasted about the terrifying threat which he claims would eradicate Finland, which is poised to join NATO, within 10 seconds.

The deputy chairman of the parliaments defence committee made the wild remarks in response to the Western unity against Russia.

It comes as senior officials appear to be concerned at Putin's lack of military progress in Ukraine.

Asked whether Russia would now rebase nuclear weapons onto its border with Finland, Zhuravlyov said: What for? We don't need to.

We can hit with a Sarmat [known in the West as Satan-2] from Siberia, and even reach the UK.

And if we strike from Kaliningrad, the hypersonic's reaching time is 200 seconds - so go ahead, guys."

He said Russia would massively strengthen its military forces on its western flank and said the US would do "everything possible to make World War III happen".

THE US and Russia face off in the Ukraine in a crisis that may start a great war. It will be the first one in decades that is directly between the superpowers although the Ukrainian pawn will suffer the greatest loss of life should it push through. Small countries like the Philippines would do well to review lessons from yesteryears and the circumstances today.

The mask maintained by the US has come off. Pretending it was Ukraine or NATO that was confronting Russia was no longer credible as the US, through State Secretary Antony Blinken and President Joe Biden, talked directly with Russia's Foreign Minister, Sergey Lavrov, and President Vladimir Putin while the Ukraine, the theater of conflict, was NOT EVEN INVITED to the discussion.

While NATO is also in the discussions, the European Union has to remind the US that its interests should not be the only consideration, that the threatened sanctions on all trade and oil, gas deliveries from Russia would severely damage the EU, who don't fight with Russia, especially if executed this cold winter where heating is needed.

The western media uniformly reports the cause of the conflict is Russian aggression to retake east Europe, that it has massed troops and military equipment on the border of Ukraine. But western media fails to mention as well the Ukrainian massing of military to take over the Donbas region, which it had agreed to give autonomy to in the Minsk agreements. Russia claims it wants to protect the Russian population if attacked by Kiev, that could lead to genocide; the west allowed genocidal collapses earlier in the Slavic and other Mideastern countries under their control.

The western media charging that Russia had invaded Crimea and is likely encouraging and assisting separatist groups in the Donbas may arguably have basis, but it should be fair to point out that the Ukraine coup was supported by the US, removing an elected president to install the US' own, and Crimea was being attacked by Kiev, where in a referendum 97 percent among the 83 percent of Crimean people voted to be part of Russia, fearful of Ukrainian rule marginalizing them. Never mentioned for perspective is that the US is actively financing, even passing legislation and sending military forces to encourage dozens of separatist groups around the world, while allowing suppressing, invading, taking over settlements of separatists and putting minorities in ghettos in allies' countries.

From the Russian, and any normal nation's view, the insistence on a legally binding agreement with the US that it will not increase NATO presence seems reasonable, given the liberation of East Europe was agreed to by the USSR among other things based on the US' James Baker's promise that NATO "would not move an inch east." But since then, the US has brought NATO to Poland, Hungary, and the Czech Republic, Bulgaria, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Romania, Slovakia and Slovenia. Now Ukraine is at the very border of Russia.

Despite the many records showing such a promise was given, the US demands that it be shown in writing. The US has time and again shown they do not value their promises; diplomats should always take this into account.

To further bring Ukraine into NATO would be allowing missiles right at the doorstep of Russia and closing off Russian maritime access to Europe. This is an existential destruction of Russian power, allowing it to be choked by sanctions, a frequent practice of the US. This limiting of or even strangulation of physical accesses to trade and movement, now includes access to technologies, finance, and takeovers of national bank accounts,

Financial strangulation by closing the Swift US dollar currency clearing system is also being threatened by the US, which is calamitous for any nation but survivable for a few diversified powers. This threat is a warning to the rest of the world.

The US had threatened to go to possible nuclear war with Soviet Russia in 1962 when Russia was putting missiles in Cuba, at the US' doorstep. Rarely brought up in history lectures is that this was in response to the US' secret Bay of Pigs invasion of Cuba and putting nuclear missiles on the Turkey border aimed at Moscow. Should the US be the only country allowed to protect itself by disallowing encirclement by offensive weapons?

It is a generally accepted politico-military traditional compromise in such cases to allow a buffer region. It was agreed between various countries in Europe, outer Mongolia became the buffer between Russia and China, USSR withheld from installing missiles in Cuba, and other instances.

The Russian demand currently to return to the original promise would be impossible to imagine though.

The US posits that Ukraine has the right to allow the installation of weapons from NATO in its own territory but disallows non-aligned countries from having the same rights to developing and installing weaponry even in their own territory.

US allies may develop nuclear weapons, assassinate, bomb even innocents without penalty. This was proven again last week in videos of innocent civilians killed by US drones in Kabul, with no parties prosecuted. For the non-aligned, arresting a few inciters to violence leads to international outcries of genocide even if they live in better circumstances than many US citizens.

This is directly aligned with the experience of the Philippines in the Scarborough Shoal standoff in 2012. The unnecessary confrontation arose because of bungled simple fisheries disputes that were non-events among half a dozen countries for decades, but were highlighted in the media, with macho declarations and military interventions entered Philippine foreign affairs bungled, but very favorable for the US?

In discussions with China, then Foreign Secretary Albert del Rosario incomprehensibly abdicated his role in negotiating, or even being present at, or even in formulating the terms of a mutual withdrawal of boats in a standoff with China, which was already accomplished by Sen. Antonio Trillanes 4th to the last three boats. Yet del Rosario dropped this successful progress in favor of escalating the confrontation to an international non-court that calls itself a court, the Permanent Court of Arbitration, then still blames the failure on others and on China. Why did the US become the sole negotiator and why have Antonio Carpio, Jose Cuisia and their followers never answered these questions by facts in their narratives "an inconvenient truth"?

These false promises and exclusions are repeatedly part of our experience, where the US and Spain negotiated the "liberation" of the Philippines to make brown brothers part of "white man's burden." Aguinaldo and the Filipinos were prevented from joining the meetings. Then the Philippine-American War was started by American shots that were blamed on the Filipinos, even though President Aguinaldo repeatedly asked to have discussions early on to clear "the misunderstanding." Gorbachev might have learned from Philippine history.

The tactics for hegemony haven't changed. US President Abraham Lincoln probably had some people in mind when he famously said: "You can fool some of the people all of the time, and all of the people some of the time, but you can't fool all of the people all of the time...." Does the last line apply to us? Let's study for the next test; we may become the frontline heroic medal winners again.

The use by the Russian Federation of nuclear weapons in its ongoing war against Ukraine would lead to World War 3.

The opinion was voiced by German MP Gregor Gysi, who spoke with Guildhall, Ukrinform reports.

If Russia uses a nuclear weapon against Ukraine, with or without a resolution of the UN General Assembly, all of humanity will be affected and it will lead to WWIII. So I'm assuming and hoping that it won't come to that, Gysi said.

The statement came as a response to a question of whether the UN General Assembly should adopt a resolution providing that, if Russia nukes Ukraine, this would mean declaring a war against all humanity.

I would react to the threat in such a way that Russia would cause World War III and go under itself, Gysi concluded.

As reported earlier, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov during an informal meeting with the CIS diplomats once again suggested that Russia could use nuclear weapons, not ruling out such an option.

President Volodymyr Zelensky of Ukraine warned that the world should prepare for a nuclear strike by the aggressor power.

On the air of the Russia 1 TV channel, Russian propagandist Olga Skabeeva and MP Alexei Zhuravlev discussed how many seconds it would take for the Sarmat intercontinental ballistic missile to reach the capitals of Great Britain, Germany, and France the nations supplying weapons to Ukraine.

Earlier, the head of the Center for Defense Reforms, coordinator of the interagency platform for countering hybrid threats, which operates within the framework of Ukraine-NATO cooperation, Oleksandr Danyliuk also stated that, in response to confirmation of intentions to use nuclear weapons against Ukraine, Russia should be excluded from the UN Security Council, and the UN General Assembly should immediately adopt a resolution that such a step on the part of the Russian Federation would be a declaration of war on humanity.

As reported previously, former Commander of the Estonian Defense Forces, MEP, Lieutenant General Riho Terras believes the UN General Assembly should adopt a resolution that the use of nuclear weapons by Russia against Ukraine will be seen as a declaration of war on all mankind.

Ex-Minister of Defense of Lithuania, MEP Rasa Jukneviien, shares the idea that Russias use of nuclear weapons would mean theyre at war with the whole world.

Also, the head of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Latvian Parliament, Atis Leji, supported the initiative on the need for the said UN resolution to be adopted.

A Member of the House of Lords of the British Parliament, former British Foreign Secretary David Owen, believes the initiative to discuss at the UN General Assembly the recent Russian threats to use nuclear weapons is worth looking into.
