President-elect Donald Trumps Election Day victory was advanced by his plan for tax cuts, his foreign policy outline and his calls to drain the swamp. Former Rep. Ron Paul, (R-Texas), weighed in on whether he is happy with the election results and Trumps presidential agenda.

Ill believe it when I see it.And I think theres going to be some things improved, but we still have a long way to go, Paul told the FOX Business Networks Stuart Varney.

Paul is concerned that Trumps policies would add to the U.S. debt.

I think Republicans have a pretty good record of not being bashful with spending money, especially if they have the House and the Senate and the presidency.And we know that Trump has not been bashful about spending money, so well see.

Paul believes Trumps victory was inspired in part by the fact that Americans felt they were not being heard when they warned of the impact of the inflationary economic environment on their wallets.

I think one of the reasons that Trump did so well is that people are suffering, they dont have good jobs, but the cost of living is going up and nobody will listen to them. Nobody will believe it and they say, oh, there is no inflation so you dont get a cost of living increase. So, I think that is the problem.

When asked if he voted for Libertarian candidate Gary Johnson, Paul responded, No, I did not vote for him, Paul continued, But I did not vote for Donald Trump either.

When asked if he put his own name down as a write-in candidate, Paul responded, Maybe the last name was right.

Former congressman Ron Paul revealed a list of fake news journalists he claims are responsible for bogus wars and lies about Hillary Clintons chances of winning the election. Journalists from CNN, the New York Times, and the Guardian are included.

This list contains the culprits who told us that Iraq had weapons of mass destruction and lied us into multiple bogus wars,according to a report on his website,Ron Paul Liberty Report. Paul claims the list is sourced andholds a lot more waterthan a list previously released byMelissa Zimdars, who is described on Pauls website asa leftist feminist professor.

These are the news sources that told us if you like your doctor, you can keep your doctor,he said.They told us that Hillary Clinton had a 98% of winning the election. They tell us in a never-ending loop that The economy is in great shape!

Pauls list includes the full names of thefake newsjournalists as well as the publications they write for, with what appears to be hyperlinks to where the allegations are sourced from. In most cases, this is WikiLeaks, but none of the hyperlinks are working at present, leaving the exact sources of the list unknown.

CNN is Pauls biggest alleged culprit, with nine entries, followed by the NY Times and MSNBC, with six each. The NY Times has recently come under fire from President-elect Donald Trump, who accuses them of beingtotally wrongon news regarding his transition team, while describing them asfailing.

The publication hit back, however, saying their business has increased since his election, with a surge in new subscriptions.

CNNs Wolf Blitzer is also amongst those named on the list. In an email from the Democratic National Committee (DNC) released byWikiLeaks, the DNC staff discusses sending questions to CNN for an interview with Donald Trump.

Also listed is NY Times journalist Maggie Haberman, whom leaked emails showed working closely with Clintons campaign to present the Democratic candidate in a favorable light.

So-called fake news has been recently attacked by US President Barack Obama, who claimed that false news shared online may have played a role in Donald Trumps victory in the US presidential election.

Facebook head Mark Zuckerberg has now said that the social media site may begin entrusting third parties with filtering the news.

Former Texas congressman Ron Paul, a longtime hero of the libertarian right, surprised many on Monday when he told MSNBC that he has no plans to back Libertarian Party presidential nominee Gary Johnson.

Paul, who himself was the Libertarian nominee in 1988 and ran as a Republican primary candidate on several subsequent occasions, said he actually prefers Green Party nominee Jill Stein on important issues like civil liberties and foreign policy.

Shes probably the best on foreign policy at the moment, Paul said, stressing that he hasnt endorsed anyone for president yet.

On Gary Johnson, Paul explained, he does not come across with a crisp libertarian message.

Johnson has come under recent ridicule for his inability to express a coherent answer on the conflict in Syria, his so-called Aleppo moment, and then for his inability to name a single foreign leader he admired.

If you want to express yourself I am voting for the non-aggressive principles that create the libertarian message. And that is, nobody can commit aggression. Individuals cannot, nor the government. Unfortunately, theres not a crisp answer, Paul said, referring to Johnson.

Paul continued: On occasion, Gary will say something good about the economy. Even Donald Trump I find him talking about the bubble that the Federal Reserve created. All those things, if you put them together, you come up with a libertarian message.

Onetime Republican presidential candidate and noted libertarian movement leader Ron Paul said during an interview Monday on Fox Business Network that he is disappointed in Libertarian presidential nominee Gov. Gary Johnson (N.M.) and suggested he might consider voting for Green Party presidential candidate Dr. Jill Stein.

The former Texas congressman said that he is telling his past supporters to vote for whomever they want in November and that it probably wont matter much

Paul told the hosts that he is disappointed with the performance of the Libertarian leaders and later floated Stein as an alternative because, if you have a sincere progressive and I know them, Ive worked with them they say, Well, one of the most important issues for me is civil liberties and a change in our foreign policy.

Paul also said Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton could run as a Republican since these parties dont mean a whole heck of a lot.

He later told MSNBC that his remarks shouldnt be construed as an endorsement of Stein because he hasnt endorsed anybody.

DES MOINES-- The chairman of Ron Pauls 2012 presidential bid was sentenced Tuesday to probation and home confinement rather than prison, and two other top aides were awaiting their sentences for a scheme to cover up campaign payments to a former Iowa state senator who agreed to endorse their boss.

Although prosecutors were seeking more than two years in federal prison, Jesse Benton was sentenced to two years probation and six months of home confinement, along with community service and a $10,000 fine. He was convicted of conspiracy, causing false campaign contribution reports to be filed to the Federal Election Commission and participating in a false statement scheme.

Judge James Jarvey called the crimes serious and said Benton took advantage of the system designed to ensure transparency in how campaigns are financed.

Theres nothing like prison time to deter white collar activity, Jarvey said, before announcing that he thought the lesser punishment was enough of a deterrent in Bentons case.

Prior to the sentencing announcement, Benton told the judge he had endured years of sleepless nights and public humiliation. He said his career is ruined and that he was forced to place his home on the market after going into debt.

A steep price has been paid, he said.

Benton and his attorney declined to comment as they left the courthouse.

The campaigns manager, John Tate, and deputy manager Dimitri Kesari also were convicted. Tate was also scheduled to be sentenced on Tuesday. Kesaris sentencing is set for Wednesday morning.

The men have argued they broke no laws when they paid a video production company, which passed on $73,000 to former state Sen. Kent Sorenson. He dropped support for Michele Bachmann and endorsed Paul six days before the 2012 Iowa caucuses.

The three men faced up to 35 years in prison had the judge handed down maximums to be served consecutively.

He also had managed the successful 2010 U.S. Senate campaign for Pauls son, Rand Paul, in Kentucky and served as campaign manager for Sen. Mitch McConnells 2014 re-election, but resigned that summer as the investigation intensified in Iowa.

Speaking before the men were sentenced, an Iowa political consultant said the case is a stark reminder to anyone in the early presidential contest states including Iowa, New Hampshire and South Carolina that theyll be intensely watched and they should follow the rules carefully.

Paul says the candidate supports 'smaller government and more personal liberties.'

Former presidential candidate Ron Paul on Monday added his name to the list of tea party supporters of Chris McDaniel's effort to deny longtime Republican Sen. Thad Cochran of Mississippi a seventh term.

McDaniel and Cochran were heading toward a June 24 runoff that illustrates the split within the GOP between its anti-establishment, tea party-flavored wing and its more staid establishment base. Neither candidate captured the required 50 percent of the vote in last week's primary.

Tea party and anti-tax groups have rushed to McDaniel's side in an effort to block Cochran's reelection. FreedomWorks, the Club for Growth and the Tea Party Express have sent cash and staff to Mississippi to help McDaniel.

The winner of the runoff faces former Rep. Travis Childers, a Democrat.

"Chris McDaniel has been a fighter in the Mississippi Senate for smaller government and more personal liberties," Paul said in a statement released through the McDaniel campaign.

Paul's son, GOP Sen. Rand Paul of Kentucky, has not backed a candidate in Mississippi.
