Ron Paul says Hillary Clinton would be a mediocre president and would likely bring about little substantive change.

In a Thursday evening interview, host Larry King asked the former Republican Texas congressman and three-time presidential candidate what kind of president Clinton would be.

I would think shed be pretty average, pretty mediocre, pretty much for war, pretty much for welfare-ism, pretty much for deficits, pretty supportive of the Federal Reserve and loving the military-industrial complex, Paul said in the conversation on Ora.tvs PoliticKING.

The libertarian darling hasgained a large following for his strong positions against the Federal Reserve, which he considers to be unconstitutional, and against U.S. foreign entanglements, particularly in the Middle East. Clinton has been criticized by some, on the left in particular, for being hawkish on foreign policy, including during her time as secretary of state during President Barack Obamas first term.

On Thursday, Paul said that Clintons stances on foreign and monetary policy make her similar to the recent inhabitants of the White House.

[T]hats what weve been having, so I dont think she would provide any change whatsoever in a positive sense, Paul said of a potential Clinton presidency.

He added that he thought Clinton would be a formidable presidential candidate, when King asked, saying that the media will love her. Clinton is widely considered to be the likely front-runner to win the 2016 Democratic presidential nomination if she chooses to run. Both Clinton and Paul ran unsuccessfully for their respective parties nominations in 2008.

His son, Republican Sen. Rand Paul of Kentucky, is openly considering a 2016 bid, but Paul said during the interview that he wasnt strongly encouraging him to run.

Ron Paul says Hillary Clinton would be a pro-war, pro-military-industrial complex and pro-Federal Reserve president.

Paul, former Republican congressman and presidential candidate, made the remarks during an interview on Thursday night on a RT America program, Politicking with Larry King.

When King asked Paul what kind of president the former US secretary of state would be, he said, I would think shed be pretty average, pretty mediocre, pretty much for war, pretty much for welfare-ism, pretty much for deficits, pretty supportive of the Federal Reserve and loving the military-industrial complex.

Paul, 79, has maintained strong positions against the military-industrial complex and the Federal Reserve, each of which he considers responsible for many of the ills afflicting the United States.

He has also strongly opposed US wars on foreign lands, particularly American military engagements in the Middle East.

Paul said that Clintons stances on foreign and monetary policy make her similar to the recent US presidents.

Stephen Lendman, a writer, peace activist and radio show host, told Press TV in August that Clinton, the 66-year-old presumptive Democratic frontrunner for the 2016 presidential race, represents imperial arrogance, and she was a wretched secretary of state.

But Hillary Clintons tenure was really, really an abomination, to say the least. She is extremely hawkish. She supports Americas wars that all are illegal, Lendman said.

Sen. Rand Paul says he believes that if elected, Dave Brat is positioned to have an outsized role in Congress, because of his historic victory against Eric Cantor in the Republican primary in June.

It was a virtually unprecedented election for a challenger; it sounds like there was something dramatic that he was presenting and saying, and I think that position seems to have a great deal of influence almost immediately in Washington, Paul said in an interview in Ashland on Wednesday.

Flanked by Brat, Paul, in jeans and cowboy boots, sat in a backroom at the Hanover Arts and Activities Center. His feet on the table, Paul leaned back in his chair.

The Republican junior senator from Kentucky, a potential aspirant for the 2016 presidential election and the son of a former presidential candidate, then-Rep. Ron Paul, has served in the Senate since 2011. He is considered a tea party favorite and has what he calls libertarian-ish views.

In his 10-minute speech Wednesday at a rally for Brat and Ed Gillespie, the Republican nominee to take on Sen. Mark R. Warner, D-Va., he had lashed out against President Barack Obama and hailed Brat but spoke little about Gillespie, the former chairman of the Republican National Committee and a former Washington lobbyist.

While Gillespie may not have been the tea partys first choice to run against Warner, Paul hinted that he was looking at the bigger picture when pondering his endorsement.

There are differences within the Republican Party, but they pale in comparison between the Republican Party and the Democrat Party, he said.

I think in the biggest issues of the day, will Ed Gillespie vote for a lowering of taxes and a lessening of regulations just in general? Im guessing yes. Will Mark Warner vote to lower any taxes or lessening any regulations? No, and even if he tells you he will, his party wont.

Paul said he and Gillespie found common ground on that Republicans must be more inclusive if they want to win elections.

One of the things Ed and I talked about, we have a plan that specifically targets people in poverty and those who are unemployed. Its called Economic Freedom Zones, and my plan for Richmond would leave $600 million in that area, over 10 years that otherwise would be sent to the federal government, Paul said.
