Sen. Mitch McConnell warns that he would postpone a Senate vote on Loretta Lynch's confirmation for the attorney general post if Democrats don't pass Republican-backed anti-trafficking legislation.

"We can't pass the trafficking bill right now," McConnell told CNN in an interview. "And I wanted to hold a vote on the attorney general but if I can't get this bill through first then I'm going to have to delay the confirmation vote."

Democrats are blocking the passage of the human trafficking bill, which would increase penalties for sex and child labor smugglers, because they say the legislation has anti-abortion language folded into its proposals.

When pressed, McConnell reiterated that "it's not a threat."

"We need to finish it. It's on the Senate floor now," the majority leader said. "Then we have the budget."

McConnell pointed the finger at the party across the aisle for the slowing of Lynch's confirmation process.

"Democrats are acting now in the minority the way that they were in the majority. They don't like to vote!" the top Republican senator said. "The language they are now calling offensive was in the bill when it passed unanimously out of committee.

"If they want to turn to the attorney general," McConnell continued, "then it is important that we turn to this human trafficking bill, which is important for our country."

The contested bill, called the Justice for Victims of Trafficking Act and authored by Sen. John Cornyn, R-Texas, was initially sponsored by a bipartisan spate of legislators. While the act does not specifically mention abortion, Senate Democrats are accusing the opposing party for sneaking in language that would effectively apply the Hyde amendment, an existing ban on using taxpayer money for abortion purposes, to the newly created Domestic Trafficking Victims' Fund.

Indonesias Central Statistics Agency records over 80 million internet users within the country, which is the sixth largest amount of users globally. Unfortunately, the high internet penetration is also accompanied by low awareness of looming security threats.

According to Indonesias communications and information ministry, there have been 36.6 million cyber-attacks in Indonesia in the past three years. Most of the recorded attacks are attempts at data theft.

Not only are corporations and government institutions affected, but every other Indonesian is also susceptible to this type of attack on a daily basis.

You may have encountered an SMS malware circulating with the following message: Congratulations you won a prize! Please call us to claim your prize! accompanied by an illegitimate phone number getting people to transfer money, or an email that prompts internet users to install an app which actually leads them to download malware. These types of threats may happen to the best of us, and they share one common theme exploiting the human subconscious.

Many people may be familiar with renowned psychologist Robert Cialdinis Six Principles of Influence. In its most basic form, Cialdini offers a step-by-step psychological guide to getting people to say yes. Very effective in the workplace or that crucial sales meeting, but these principles arent necessarily confined to the noble quest of better business. In fact, cybercriminals are now swotting the latest social psychology tactics in order to get their hands on your data.

The prevalence of social engineering in many publicly disclosed cyber-attacks demonstrates either an inherent weakness in the acumen of victims to identify malicious communications, or that cyber criminals are using more complex methods to bypass the human firewall.

THE effects of missing the cut have been in the headlines of late and I feel I can speak with some credibility on Post Cut Depression or PCD. I thought Id share my experiences on the subject and try and help some of my less experienced Aussie colleagues.

This nasty affliction can turn a perfectly normal golfer into an untidy, alcohol fuelled self-absorbed man in the space of only a few hours if left untreated.

Common effects of PCD are the sudden urge to ask anyone in the street Do you know who I am? Sometimes this can just be the result of forgetting yourself after 19 beers but usually it comes from the loss of self-confidence which comes when at least 60 blokes just smacked your arse.

Another symptom is multiple hallucinations. I remember missing the cut in the Australia Open one year and as I walked out of the locker room, I swore I saw three French People Smugglers come at me with the intent of piling me into a golf cart and selling me into sexual slavery.

I even rang my mum, then handed the phone to one of my assailants. Mum told him she had a very specific set of skills and she would find them . then remove their genitals. Turned out it was only a small bump on my head I received with a sand-wedge after I told my caddy he wasnt going to be paid that week either.

I again finished just one short of a weekend jersey in the Thailand Open in the 1980s and fell fowl of an evil pick pocket. This mongrel waited until I was at my most vulnerable then pounced. I was standing at the trough in a Bangkok restaurant taking a well-earned leak when this evil human took advantage of my susceptibility and ripped off my travellers cheques from my back pocket! Well what could I do? By the time I had turned off the hose and wound it back, he was halfway to Singapore!

I was that upset and confused, I thought I had gone to the Cop Station and reported the crime to a Police Officer. Turned out I had mistakenly gone to a strip club and given my statement to a pole dancer.

For the uninitiated the onset of PCD usually begins around the 10th or 11th tee on Friday. The first thing you feel is the need to take far less time checking your yardages and a lot more time checking how much cash you have left in your wallet.

Newport-Mesa Unified School District's Board of Education hired Russell Lee-Sung as its Associate Superintendent - Chief Human Resources Officer. Lee-Sung leaves hist post as Anaheim Union High School District's head of human resources later this month.

Anaheim Union High School Districts head of human resources will shift his focus to Newport Beach and Costa Mesa schools later this month. The Newport-Mesa Unified School Districts Board of Education voted unanimously Tuesday to hire Russell Lee-Sung as its Associate Superintendent - Chief Human Resources Officer.

Lee-Sung, currently the assistant superintendent of human resources with the Anaheim Union High School District, will begin his term at NMUSD on March 25.

Board president Martha Fluor said Lee-Sung's experience aligns well with the goals of the district. He worked his way up from a classroom teacher to an assistant superintendent, has established good relationships negotiating with unions, and worked to close achievement gaps at schools where he was an assistant principal and principal.

He also is supportive of arts education - a bonus, said Fluor.

It's nice to have, because our district is really committed to the visual and performing arts, Fluor said.

The position comes with a $225,000 base salary, benefits, a $650-per-month transportation allowance and $100-per month phone allowance, according to an employment agreement.

John Caldecott, the former director of human resources, was fired Jan. 27. A few days earlier, hed filed a petition with the Orange County Superior Court to compel the release of documents relating to a complaint hed filed against superintendent Frederick Navarro.

Newport-Mesa school district hires new head of human resources

Authorities discovered human remains Wednesday afternoon near an off-ramp of Interstate-295 in Southeast Washington, D.C. police said.

U.S. Park Police notified D.C. police of the discovery in the area of the southbound highway lanes and Malcolm X Avenue about 2:30 p.m., said Officer Hugh Carew, a D.C. police spokesman. Investigators later determined that remains were human and D.C. police are trying to determine how they ended up at that location.

Police did not know an age or gender of the remains and did not release how decomposed they were.

Clarence Williams is the night police reporter for The Washington Post and has spent the better part of 13 years standing next to crime scene tape, riding in police cars or waking officials in the middle of night to gather information about breaking news in and around Washington.

Human remains wash ashore near a Florida military base after seven Marines and four soldiers in an Army helicopter crashed overnight during a training mission. (Reuters)

Human remains washed ashore Wednesday, as officials continued their search for seven Marines and four soldiers in waters off the Florida Panhandle, where a military helicopter had crashed during a training exercise.

We have confirmed that we have had some human remains wash ashore in the area where our search and rescue team have begun a larger scale operation,AndrewBourland, a spokesman for the Eglin Air Force Base, told The Washington Post.

Bourland also said that debris from the aircraft had been located.

The Army UH-60 Black Hawk is believed to have gone down in the water and foggy conditions were reported in the area at the time of the crash, though it is too soon to say what might have caused the mishap.

At a Wednesday afternoon news conference, Maj. Gen. GlennH.Curtis, the Adjutant General for the Louisiana National Guard, said the Black Hawk pilots had thousands of hours of flight experience and were instructor pilots, which indicates that they were experienced and qualified enough to train other pilots.

According to Curtis, it is one of the highest designations pilots in the Army can receive.

A second Black Hawk that participated in the exercise returned to base after take-off due to the weather conditions, Curtis said.That helicopter landed safely and all personnel on board were accounted for.

One of them started to take off and realized that theweather was a condition thenturned around and came back, said Curtis, who spoke from Hammond, La.

According to a Pentagon official who spoke anonymously to the Associated Pressnearly 12 hours after the craft was reported missing, all 11 service members are presumed dead.
