Second-Wave Feminists Pushed The Sexual Revolution To End America, And It’s Working – The Federalist
Posted: April 20, 2022 at 11:02 am
The hottest flashpoint in the culture today is the trans movement, with the mob coming after anyone, like J.K. Rowling, who dares to oppose the idea that men can become women and women men. Few are aware that the seeds for this effort were planted decades ago by a small group of women who gathered regularly to promote the creed of Marxism. We live under their triumphant umbrella daily.
The Supreme Court confirmation of Ketanji Brown Jackson is just the latest feather in their cap, as a justicewho claims she cant define a what a is woman because she lacks a biology degree. (Ironically, the new women she is trying to include arent biologically women, so a biology degree wouldnt actually help her.)
This group of women was led by Kate Millett (1934-2017), one of the early grandmothers of feminisms second wave. She was the author of the Sexual Politics, the academic justification for feminism that became the backbone of womens studies programs nationally and was featured on Time Magazines cover twice.
Mallory Millett, Kates sister, has been telling the story of the 12 women Kate brought together in New York City in the late 1960s and early 70s. These are the women who laid the groundwork for second-wave feminism, which gave way to the world of woke.
It was 1969 and she took me to a meeting at her friend, Lila Karps place in Greenwich Village, Mallory explained to me for my book, The Anti-Mary Exposed. At a consciousness-raising [an idea imported from Maos China] twelve women gathered at a large table. They opened with a type of Litany from the Catholic Church but, this time it was Marxism, the church of the Left.
The litany went like this:
Why are we here today? the chairwoman asked.
To make revolution, they answered.
What kind of revolution? she replied.
The Cultural Revolution, they chanted.
And how do we make Cultural Revolution? she demanded.
By destroying the American family! they answered.
How do we destroy the family? she came back.
By destroying the American patriarch, they cried exuberantly.
And how do we destroy the American patriarch? she probed.
By taking away his power!
How do we do that?
By destroying monogamy! they shouted.
How can we destroy monogamy?
By promoting promiscuity, eroticism, prostitution, abortion, and homosexuality! they resounded. (Gress, 73-74)
Read the last line again. These were not things that were a part of American culture, although burgeoning then with the sexual revolution, but all of them have been achieved, probably beyond the wildest dreams of those present, by this very specific targeting.
Phyllis Chesler confirmed much of Mallorys account in her 2018 book, Politically Incorrect Feminist: Creating a Movement with Bitches, Lunatics, Dykes, Prodigies, Warriors, and Wonder Women. Chesler, while trying to tell the honest truth of the good, bad, and ugly of the feminist movement, reveals much of the story that has been jealously guarded by feminists for decades: that most of the women in the movement were incredibly broken by mental illness and drug abuse. Chesler calls them the lost girls.
Their brokenness wasnt considered a weakness, but the glue that held them together. We who only yesterday had been viewed as cunts, whores, dykes, bitches, witches, and madwomen; we who had been second- and third-class citizens had suddenly become players in history. The world would never be the same, and neither would we, writes Chesler in her introduction.
Speaking specifically of Kate Millett, Chesler wrote:
Kate had a stload of charm and, in the beginning, a commanding presence, but she also had periods in which she didnt sleep, raged at others, attempted suicide, and exploited her groupies all the while feeling victimized by them (which she was). She couldnt be counted on to remain lucid at a press conference. She also fell in love, and tried to have her way, quite aggressively, with woman after woman (including me). (Chesler, Politically Incorrect, loc. 2939.)
Given her anything-goes approach to sexuality, Kate Millett finally alienated her own sister from the movement when she tried to take her to bed. The erasure of the categories of male and female and even ending the stigma of sleeping with children were issues Kate Millett promoted for most of her career.
Millet, her minions, and the other grandmothers of second-wave feminism set the diabolical narrative that has affected nearly every woman on the planet. These broken women are responsible for the 50-year-old narrative that says female empowerment can only be achieved through promiscuity, abortion, and the destruction of the family.
The matriarchy made up of elite men and women dictates to the rest of us what we are to believe through their control of the press, Hollywood, academia, daytime TV, book publishing, public policy, magazines, the fashion industry, public schools, and now even Disney. While the world stopped under the threat of Covid and the 3.5 million deaths, the 43 million abortions procured by women worldwide in the year 2021 can be laid at their feet.
The biggest question is, why havent men and women of goodwill and reason been able to stop this movement? Much of the answer resides in the fact that the matriarchy has been able to create a closed system that ignores, maligns, or suppresses any competing data, bullying or railroading any opposition. Power and control are the emphasis, not debate, real science, and reason.
The other key to their success goes back to Kate Milletts litany. The greatest tool that has silenced opposition is the continued rail against the patriarchy, a vague wordmuch like racism todaythat has silenced much of the population like kryptonite, particularly men. Few slogans have had more staying power than smash the patriarchy; it shows up at every womans march and in every feminist diatribe.
At its heart, it is the belief that all women are victims (even if they havent been victimized), while all men are the oppressors (even if they have never oppressed anyone), but again, it is about exercising control. Few could define patriarchy, no one wants to be guilty of engaging in it, so apologies and denunciations abound anytime it is asserted. So men and women continue to bow to every feminist demand for womens equality, while real women are trounced and triumphed over by men in heels and swimming suits.
The trans movement is the biggest fulfillment yet of the second-wave ideal of erasing gender, and is perhaps the final battle before Kate Milletts vision is complete. That pseudo-litany chanted by the 12 women in the upper room has been heard, felt, and suffered by all the world as the family has been destroyed, replaced by a population of noble narcissists.
Most of us feel weak and powerless to stop the ideological juggernaut, especially as we watch institution after institution cave to the narrative. The true antidote to the problem of trans and all Marxist ideologies is also in the litany: to restore the family.

The Lisa Scene On The Simpsons That Went Too Far – Looper
Posted: at 11:02 am
In Season 29, Episode 15 ("NoGoodReadGoes Unpunished"), the show's writers and producers addressed the budding controversy about white actor Hank Azaria's portrayal of Indian shopkeeper ApuNahasapeemapetilonby having Marge share a classic story from her own childhood with Lisa. After discovering problematic passages in the book, Marge makes her own edits.
Lisa notes that Marge's revised main character, Clara, "starts out pretty perfect. But since she's already evolved, she doesn't really have an emotional journey to complete. Kinda means there's no point to the book." Marge asks what she should have done, and Lisa turns and addresses the camera to deliver a defensive sermon on behalf of the show's creative forces, saying, "Something that started decades ago and was applauded and inoffensive is now politically incorrect. What can you do?" Marge tells her "Some things will be dealt with at a later date," and Lisa responds, "if at all" and the pair give the camera a very long, glum look.
The scene is preachy, forced, and out of place. The moment is clumsy and uses the show's only true progressive voice to defend its most problematic characterization. Azaria later apologized, and the show recast Apu and other characters of color that had been portrayed by white actors (via TheHollywoodReporter). But in this moment, the show's creators and Lisa, its most sensitive character were obnoxiously and needlessly defiant.

Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe first drive review: Do-it-all plug-in – Digital Trends
Posted: at 11:02 am
Jeep is embracing electrification but, like a 44 crawling over a pile of rocks, its doing so slowly and methodically.
The first all-electric Jeep is scheduled to launch in 2023, but in the meantime, were getting plug-in hybrids. With gasoline engines to curb range anxiety and traditional mechanical four-wheel drive systems to preserve off-road capability, Jeeps 4xe (pronounced four-by-e) plug-in hybrids bridge the gap between two eras.
Jeep started with what was arguably the tougher job a 4xe version of its iconic Wrangler. Now its moving on to another familiar nameplate. The 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe is an electrified version of the brands family SUV mainstay. While several similarly sized plug-in hybrid SUVs are hitting the market, none are quite like this Jeep.
The Grand Cherokee 4xe splits the difference between mainstream entries like the Hyundai Santa Fe and Kia Sorento plug-in hybrids and more luxury offerings like the BMW X5 xDrive45e, Lincoln Aviator Grand Touring, and Volvo XC90 Recharge but with unmatched off-road capability.
Pricing starts at $59,565 for the base model. Thats a big increase from the base non-hybrid Grand Cherokee, but you do get more standard equipment, including a three-screen infotainment system. If you move up through the Trailhawk, Overland, and Summit trim levels to the top Summit Reserve, youll pay $76,095 before any options. The Grand Cherokee 4xe does at least qualify for the full $7,500 federal EV tax credit because of its large 17-kilowatt-hour battery pack.
The entire Grand Cherokee lineup is getting a redesign that started rolling out for the 2021 model year on the three-row Grand Cherokee L model and continues for 2022 with two-row models. Code-named WL, the new Grand Cherokee is a big change from the previous-generation WK2 model.
The seven-slot grille and politically incorrect name carry over, but everything else is different. In contrast to the somewhat pudgy WK2, the Grand Cherokee WL has a more graceful, elongated profile with upright sides and nice proportions. The styling was inspired by the classic SJ Jeep Grand Wagoneer, Jeep exterior design manager Eugenio Sellano-Neto said in a presentation ahead of our test drive. We think this Grand Cherokee is a better homage to the SJ than the actual current-generation Grand Wagoneer, in fact.
The interior was fairly upscale, with nicely integrated screens and appealing details.
You cant get a three-row Grand Cherokee 4xe, something that is available on the lower-priced Kia Sorento plug-in hybrid, as well as the pricier Lincoln Aviator Grand Touring and Volvo XC90 Recharge. The 4xe does have comparable interior space to these similarly sized SUVs, as well as non-hybrid Grand Cherokee models, though. Its 32.7 cubic feet of cargo space with the rear seats in place, and 70.8 cubic feet with the rear seats folded, is on the low end for an SUV of this size, but identical to a comparable non-hybrid Grand Cherokee.
We found the interior to be fairly upscale, with nicely integrated screens and appealing details like the large gear selector knob and switches for the drive modes and four-wheel drive system. Fit and finish also seemed worthy of a luxury vehicle, let alone a rugged Jeep. We werent as impressed with the copious piano black plastic (which attracted lots of dust), the Trailhawks vinyl seats, or the molded wood trim on Overland models, but the latter does at least get Nappa leather upholstery. And we had no issues with material quality on the high-end Summit and Summit Reserve models.
All 4xe models come standard with a 10.1-inch touchscreen, 10.1-inch digital instrument cluster, and a 10.2-inch touchscreen for the front passenger. Wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto and a built-in 4G LTE Wi-Fi hot spot are standard as well. A 10-inch head-up display, rear-seat entertainment system with built-in Amazon Fire TV connectivity, and a 19-speaker McIntosh audio system are also available.
The Uconnect 5 infotainment system kept the various screens working well. Jeep crams in a lot of information, from typical features like navigation to pitch and roll angles for off-roading, but it was easy to toggle between everything. The main touchscreen was set up to show a few different widgets at once without looking cluttered, and Jeeps UX designers made some smart decisions. Climate controls stay in a menu bar at the top of the screen, so you can make adjustments without having to exit Apple CarPlay or Android Auto. Jeep also lets drivers quickly pull up a front camera view with one tap thats not always the case in other vehicles.
Jeeps UX designers made some smart decisions.
The front-passenger screen only works when someone is sitting in the seat and, because we drove solo, we werent able to test it out. But we think Jeeps approach of decentralizing the interface with multiple screens makes more sense than using one oversize screen for everything. Aside from the latest Mercedes-Benz EVs, you wont find a similar setup anywhere else, either.
Standard driver-assist features include forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, rear cross-traffic alert, blind-spot monitoring, lane-keep assist, lane-departure warning, adaptive cruise control, and rear park assist. Optional features include night vision, a 350-degree camera system, a digital rearview mirror, traffic-sign recognition, a driver-attention monitor, parallel and perpendicular park assist, and Travel Assist, which adds automated lane centering to the adaptive cruise control.
Similar to the Wrangler 4xe, the Grand Cherokee 4xe uses a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine, eight-speed automatic transmission, and two electric motors.
One motor acts purely as a starter/generator, while the second motor, which is positioned between the engine and transmission, is used for propulsion. In electric mode, a clutch allows it to connect to the drivetrain while decoupling the engine. The engine then clutches back in for hybrid mode. An electric air conditioning compressor also helps improve efficiency by shifting some of the power demand from the gasoline engine to the electric motors.
This complex system produces 375 horsepower and 470 pound-feet of torque, enabling a robust 6,000-pound maximum towing capacity, according to Jeep. Thats less than some non-hybrid Grand Cherokee models, but about the same as the BMW X5 and Lincoln Aviator plug-in hybrids. The automaker also quotes zero to 60 mph in about 6.0 seconds, which it claims is about a second quicker than a non-hybrid Grand Cherokee with the largest-available V8 engine.
At one point, we were guiding a 4xe up a rock face with two wheels off the ground.
Unlike non-hybrid Grand Cherokee models, the 4xe also gets standard four-wheel drive. And unlike other plug-in hybrid SUVs, it gets the hardware needed for serious off-roading. The four-wheel drive system is similar to non-hybrid Grand Cherokee models, with a two-speed transfer case and low range that allow the 4xe to crawl over low-traction surfaces. An optional air suspension system enables 10.9 inches of ground clearance (on Trailhawk models), and if thats not enough, you still have steel skid plates protecting the vehicles underside including the battery pack.
This adds up to an SUV that can off-road like a conventional Jeep, while using less fuel. Jeep was eager to show off the Grand Cherokees capabilities, sending us through an off-road course where, at one point, we were guiding a Trailhawk model up a rock face with two wheels off the ground. The fact that we were doing this in a plug-in hybrid caused no issues. It was even possible to cruise along in electric mode (although the amount of throttle required to get up steep inclines caused the gas engine to kick on). When it comes to off-roading, the Grand Cherokee 4xe is the real deal.
Its unclear how many owners will take their circa-$60,000 SUVs off-road, but everyone will appreciate the Grand Cherokees on-road manners. We did our on-road driving in a midlevel Overland model, and were impressed by its comfortable ride, quiet cabin, and predictable handling characteristics. While there were some minor blemishes, such as an occasional clunk when the drivertrain switched from electric to hybrid mode and an unattractive engine note, the overall experience was downright luxurious.
The Grand Cherokee 4xe is rated at 25 miles of electric range with a 56 MPGe combined efficiency rating. A standard 7-kilowatt onboard charger allows for a full recharge in 3.4 hours using a 240-volt Level 2 AC source, Jeep said.
Electric range is slightly less than you get in the Hyundai Santa Fe and Kia Sorento plug-in hybrids, as well as the BMW X5 xDrive45e and Volvo XC90 Recharge. We also fell short of that rating, even in low-speed driving, but the Jeeps aggressive regenerative braking allowed us to get a few miles of electric range back fairly easily. We also found that, in normal driving, the Jeep was able to stay in electric mode consistently without turning on its gasoline engine.
In hybrid mode, the 4xe is rated at 23 mpg combined, meaning its only slightly more efficient than a Grand Cherokee with the standard V6 engine, which is rated at 22 mpg combined. As with all plug-in hybrids, you only get an efficiency benefit if you actually charge the 4xe regularly.
Crash-test ratings from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) and National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) were not available at the time of publication. The previous-generation WK Grand Cherokee did not get perfect scores from either organization, so there is definitely some room for improvement.
Jeep offers a three-year, 36,000-mile limited warranty and five-year, 60,000-mile powertrain warranty, plus three years of free scheduled maintenance.
The 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe is both a good SUV and a good plug-in hybrid. Its off-road and towing abilities, as well as generous interior and cargo space, fulfill the SUV design brief. It also offers a usable amount of electric range, an electric mode that works well in normal driving, and aggressive regenerative braking.
The standard Uconnect 5 infotainment system and its three large displays, along with wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto and available Amazon Fire TV connectivity, also make the Jeep fairly compelling from a tech standpoint. Most trim levels also felt fairly luxurious for a vehicle from a non-premium brand.
All of that adds up to a singular vehicle thats hard to categorize. If all you want is a plug-in hybrid with lots of room, the Hyundai Santa Fe and Kia Sorento will take care of that for a lower price. However, the Grand Cherokee offers a more upscale feel and more tech than the Korean models at a lower starting price than luxury brand plug-in hybrids from BMW, Lincoln, and Volvo. By combining rugged capability, tech, and efficiency, Jeep has found itself a good niche.
Yes. This plug-in hybrid does it all.

Stream It Or Skip It: ‘Bill Maher: #Adulting’ On HBO Max, A New Stand-Up Special That Is Not Okay Boomer – Decider
Posted: April 17, 2022 at 11:49 pm
Is it a Good Friday without a new episode of Real Time with Bill Maher? What if HBO aired an hour of just Maher in its place? Would that be something youd be interested in?
The Gist: This is Mahers 12th stand-up special for HBO since 1989, and his weekly live panel show, Real Time, has aired for almost two decades. HBO made space for him 20 years ago after ABC cancelled his late-night talker for them for being a bit too Politically Incorrect.
Which means cancel culture cant be real, can it?
What Comedy Specials Will It Remind You Of?: If you watch Real Time, then this is like revisiting many of his monologues from recent years. If you dont watch that, then just picture an old man yelling at a cloud.
Memorable Jokes: To show you where his heads at, Maher specifically flew to Florida to film this hour in Miami, not because the audiences were smarter there, but because he wouldnt have to put up with any pandemic protocols. Still? Thats why I came to Florida. To get away from that shit.
Hes fully in the camp of cant we just take our victory and go home? and makes a series of jokes mocking anyone taking it too seriously, mostly with faulty premises.
Hes also fully a never-Trumper, with jokes about how President Biden at least doesnt make him swear at his phone first thing every morning, and later, tearing into the woman who accused Biden of sexual misconduct during the 2020 campaign. On a related note to that, Maher also vigorously defends Aziz Ansari from his #MeToo moment of several years ago now? Speaking of not-topical material, Maher still finds his nourishment in the low-hanging fruit of Rudy Giuliani and Trump and their boorish behavior. There are plenty of clapter lines here, even some that surprise Maher.
Religion. Pot-smoking. He returns to those topics again, as he has throughout his career.
As for the title (#adulting), Maher makes fun of Gen Z for going public with how pleased they are at doing basic grown-up chores, but at 66 himself, hes still getting too high sometimes to function, and yes, hes going to recount that just as gleefully for his closer.
Our Take: Maher wants to put young people in their place by reminding them that some day, theyll be considered closed-minded or wrong.Every generation is the what were you thinking generation, he says. Youre not better. you just came later.
So where is his mockery for his own generation, the Baby Boomers? Instead, hes so concerned with progress going overboard in becoming this bullshit about always revisiting the past, that he picks unfunny over-exaggerations to make his points, and even false claims about the way things actually used to be. To be fair, Maher still slings a few zingers and solid points here and there, but everywhere in between is full of his own b.s. and selfish political philosophy. Because his centrism or libertarianism or whatever hes claiming to be in 2022 is based on him being a wealthy white man, so unconcerned by getting by that he has the privilege of focusing all of his attention on frivolous headlines.
Which could be funny, if he made himself the butt of the joke. But thats never been his game. Maher wants to feel like hes the smartest person in the room, and he buys into that instead. Because if he believed his own argument, hed know that the younger generations know better than him. If were the iPhone 11 (even that point of his is outdated), then hes still a landline.
He almost gets there, saying:Trust me folks, I havent changed. I really havent. Im still the same pot-smoking, childless unmarried libertine I always was. The audience applauds him for it. I have many flaws, but you cannot accuse me of maturing.
Our Call: SKIP IT. Unless you already enjoy and look forward to new episodes of Real Time, this hour wont make you feel any better about how the Baby Boomers wont give up their hold on power or shut up about how things have changed.

The Simpsons Learn Jazz Never Solves Anything – Den of Geek
Posted: at 11:48 pm
The concept of a deaf child born to a gifted musician is morosely sad in its tragic irony. This itself is sublimely parodied by having Bleeding Gums discover the malady because of a clumsy drunk drummer. The episode features the series first-ever use of ASL, and deaf voice actors.
Monk teaches at The Skys the Limit, but his adept ability to read lips would be a tad clichd if it wasnt quicker than having Lisa learn sign language. The animators draw the characters with four fingers to save production costs but accurately render signs with a missing digit, and artfully foreshadow the auditory challenge with subtle clues, like hooking a doorbell to a light. Also, for unexpected comic subversion. Monk hits enough numbers in the lottery to make a lot of people happy, and Bart comes away with a win.
The central commentary on the exploitation of African American music is done with deft broad strokes. Music companies are parodied with names like Check is in the Mail Publishing. The Simpsons note their long-standing commitment to the cause by flashing back to Bleeding Gums first appearance, with Kevin Michael Richardson dubbing over Ron Taylors original lines enthusing over how well Lisa plays for someone with no real problems.
The episode is filled with clever musical moments. Lyrics catch the old Simpsons musical comedy magic but, because its a jazz episode, occasionally go on too long. Scatting is funny, for a while, but tuneful punchlines land with more immediacy. Most of the humor in the episode comes at the expense of jazz, much of it redundant. Keep money out of jazz started when the first blue note slipped into an improvisation. It predates riffing on My Favorite Things. Its about time Lisa learns jazz doesnt help anybody.
The installment is loaded with quick visual jokes thrown into the backgrounds. This might be the end of another beloved minor character. There is a sign at the hospital admissions promising We finally fired Dr. Nick. We also hear a reference to Will Smiths Bagger Vance. What are the odds?
Lottery fever is well captured, especially when Reverend Lovejoy gives in to temptation. He hawks The Bible as the original book of numbers. He also gets the best line, about Jesus saying a lot of weird stuff after turning water into wine. He may as well be talking about continuity. Kent Brockman already won the lottery in the episode Dog of Death, from 1992. Bleeding Gums told Lisa he doesnt really have a family in earlier seasons.

Theater for the New City to Present HAMLET IN HARLEM – Broadway World
Posted: April 15, 2022 at 12:15 pm
This spring there will be more than one adaptation of Hamlet to chose from, but Theater for the New City (TNC) will have the funniest one. Hamlet in Harlem, a new play written and directed by Alberto Ferreras is a politically incorrect comedy that promises murder, mystery, offensive stereotypes and cultural appropriations. Hamlet in Harlem is the story of an empathetic caucasian filmmaker Jason Harriman who dreams about producing an all-Latino version of Hamlet that takes place in "el Barrio". The only problem is that he doesn't know much about Latinos, he doesn't know much about Harlem, and he doesn't know much about Hamlet either. When his father -shrewd commercial filmmaker Claude Harriman- finds him a potential investor, Jason will have to reenact his script with a group of actors who won't be thrilled with the way he represents Hispanics on the screen.
Hamlet in Harlem is an immersive, laugh-out-loud, politically-incorrect, I-can'tbelieve-this-is-Shakespeare comedy that addresses important issues of media representation, gender roles, cultural appropriation, and the relevance of classic literature. The cast includes-in order of appearance- Ardes Quinn, John David West, Cole Ortiz-Mackes, Barbra Herr, Kyle Kankonde, Michael Vazquez, Robert Gonzales Jr, and Hector Lincoln. The show is produced by Myrna Duarte with the assistance of Maria Fernanda Rodriguez. Alex Bartenieff will be in charge of the light design, and Wincho Schafer of the original music-courtesy of Altamira Artists.
Alberto Ferreras (playwright and director) is a Spanish-Venezuelan American author and filmmaker known for his award winning novel B as in Beauty (Hachette 2009). He is the creator of Habla, an HBO documentary series about the US Latino experience (2003-2022), and Somos, a new video installation about Latino identity commissioned by the Smithsonian Institution for the National Museum of American History. Ferreras made his debut as a screenwriter in Sundance 2015 with Dynamo's feature film Que Viva La Msica. His short film series The Lessons by Alberto Ferreras has been presented in countless film festivals. His work as a photographer has been presented at the Museum of Modern Art in Bogota.

Boxing broadcast goes off the rails when commentator insults ring girl – Insider
Posted: at 8:39 pm
A boxing broadcast over the weekend went off the rails when 78-year-old commentator 'Colonel' Bob Sheridan called ring girls "bimbos," and then asked if that was politically incorrect.
It wasn't even the most inappropriate thing Sheridan said that night, as he also discussed the way he uses the n-word in private since he says he can't say it in public, and also claimed while laughing that he once killed eight men.
It is unclear if he was joking at the time, though a report from last year indicated that Sheridan was involved in a car accident and that there was "a death involved."
Sheridan did not immediately respond to Insider's request for comment.
Mexico promotion Bxstrs, which organized the Friday event in the city of Ciudad Guzman, Jalisco, also did not immediately respond to a request for comment, though it is unclear if it was affiliated with the broadcast.
Sheridan and the former boxer Paulie Malignaggi commented on the show from a studio at a remote location.
The event was headlined by a bout between Eduardo Nunez and Adrian Pacheco. However, Sheridan's comments overshadowed the results.
While waiting for the announcement of a decision on one of the fights, Sheridan started talking about the ring girls. "Alright," he said. "We like the bimbos, right? Is that politically correct to say, 'Bimbos'?
"Okay. Sorry, ladies. You're two fine, young ladies. God bless you . Sorry for the insult. But I come from the old days where you could actually say things that were funny. Nobody got their red neck up when you said stuff like that."
Video footage of the incident was seemingly on YouTube but the broadcast has since moved to private.
Mark Ortega, a former Fox Sports boxing researcher and writer, clipped the footage and posted it himself on social media.
On the subject of racial slurs, Sheridan said: "When we're off the air, we're talking about that all the time. We're not supposed to use the n-word I know we can't use it on the air and I'm not supposed to say it outside my room. So I don't."
Sheridan also relayed a story, in which he claimed to have killed eight men. It is unclear if he is joking, but the incident may relate to a 2021 article that said Sheridan was injured in a robbery attempt.
In that story, Sheridan claimed eight men "true criminals" tried to box him in his Corvette vehicle while in Victorville, California. "There was a death involved," he said at the time, according to Fight Sports TV.
"The cops never told me how many of those guys were down."
Speaking during Friday's broadcast, he claimed:
"I killed eight of them that night in my 'Vette. Here's what I did," he said, while individuals off-camera seemingly attempt to encourage him to change the subject.
"We can [talk about it], it's the truth. I killed eight of them that night and I wanted to get that in. I got to stop talking about that."
Laughing, he continued: "There's eight dead men," before awkward silence ensued. Malignaggi then changed the subject by bringing up Muhammad Ali's former trainer Angelo Dundee.
Sheridan was born in 1944, has provided commentary on more than 10,000 fight events, and received the 1998 award from the Boxing Writers Association of America for "Excellence in broadcasting journalism."

Grammys 2022 Best-Dressed: Lil Nas X, Billy Porter and More – The New York Times
Posted: at 8:39 pm
Ah, Las Vegas: It provides inspiration in so many ways. Thats how it seemed, anyway, judging from the Grammy red carpet, newly located to the MGM Grand Garden Arena in the city of gosh, so many things! Sin and lights and camp and Elvis.
And as with the site, so, too, with the clothes. If there was a theme to the night, it was an exuberant anything-goes attitude that was not a bad reminder of why red carpets are fun in the first place. Theyre as much for those doing the watching as those doing the wearing.
There was Megan Thee Stallion, channeling an entire big cat enclosure in her one-shouldered, slit-to-the-waist Roberto Cavalli. St. Vincent, modeling Showgirls, the X Games version, in ruffle-trimmed Gucci with enormous sweeping sleeves and skirt. Michelle Zauner of Japanese Breakfast, looking like a fabulous daffodil in short ruffled yellow Valentino. And Billie Eilish, going all Gothic conceptualist in a black Rick Owens coat with a neckline that seemed to have migrated to her torso, thus suggesting everyones perspective had flipped sort of sideways. Who couldnt relate?
Even the relatively sedate Louis Vuitton suiting of BTS (think tones of clay, sand, white and teal) was punctuated by Vs overblown corsage, like an entire bouquet of paper flowers had attached itself to the side of his jacket.
Shocking pink was the color of the night, worn by Billy Porter in a ruffled Valentino shirtdress, cape, opera gloves and trousers; Saweetie, in a Valentino bra, more gloves and ginormous skirt (the brand actually had its own patented name for the pink: Pink PP, after its designer, Pierpaolo Piccioli); Travis Barker, in a shocking pink coat over a black Givenchy suit; and Anglique Kidjo, in a fabulous fringed fuchsia.
Also Justin Bieber, who accessorized his oversize Balenciaga suit and steel-tipped Balenciaga Crocs with a bright pink beanie. (Crocs also made an appearance on the feet of Questlove. Comfort dressing to the fore!)
Speaking of Saweetie, the pink was only the first of three count em outfits she wore during the night, swapping it for a black Oscar de la Renta gown cut to flash one silver-covered breast, like an Amazon going to the prom, and then trading that for a glimmering, backless gold Etro number.
Still, when it came to bling, there was Lil Nas X, shining like a rhinestone on one of Elviss jumpsuits. He seemed to be channeling a sci-fi warrior angel in pearl-encrusted Balmain with butterfly detailing before he changed into glittering Zorro black to start his performance, which in turn was shed for a pearl bolero and then a marching band jacket complete with gold braid. As for Giveon, his Chanel black boucl denim jacket and jeans sparkled like the night sky over the desert. Chanel mens wear! Why not?
Then there was Jon Batiste, who made his entrance in a silver, gold and black harlequin sequin suit in honor of New Orleans, his hometown. Designed by Dolce & Gabbana, the formerly canceled brand whose history of politically incorrect behavior seems to be behind it, at least as far as celebrities are concerned, the suit was outshone only by the diamante-bedazzled cape, part royal, part priest, he wore to accept his award for Album of the Year.
Their only real competition in the sparkle stakes was Brandi Carlile, in a rainbow-bejeweled Boss tuxedo she told the E! host Laverne Cox weighed about 40 pounds (anything for fashion), and that she said both made her feel like a boss and was a homage to Elton John, the king of fantabulous costume.
Indeed, there was a strain of nostalgia running through the night. H.E.R. wore an egg yolk-yellow Dundas jumpsuit with caped sleeves and phoenix embroidery that was a direct reference to Aretha Franklins 1976 American Music Awards get-up. Leon Bridges, in white with gold embroidery, had a touch of Presley about him. Lady Gaga served full midcentury silver screen siren in black Armani Priv with a swag of white satin at the side before slipping into a minty blue Elie Saab satin number with a gigantic bow at the back to do her golden oldies medley, like a gift-wrapped Jean Harlow.
Olivia Rodrigo paired her corseted Vivienne Westwood with a signature 90s choker. And Dua Lipa channeled Donatella Versace in long blond hair and a bondage gown from the 1992 Versace Miss S&M collection. (Ms. Versace herself made an appearance in an award-presenting skit that was perhaps the ultimate in product placement.)
Still, that Versace gown wasnt the only vintage on the carpet. SZA wore a nude tulle Jean Paul Gaultier design from 2006 sprouting a gardens worth of flowers down the front, and Laverne Cox modeled a lacy black John Galliano number from 2007. It was as close as anyone got to value signaling via dress.
Yet in the end, amid all the fun and frippery, the one garment that most lingered was perhaps the least elaborate, least formal of all: the T-shirt worn by Billie Eilish for her performance. Featuring Taylor Hawkins, the Foo Fighters drummer who died in late March, it was a fashion statement of the most emotional, effective kind.
