The Politically Incorrect Guide is a book series by Regnery Publishing presenting conservative or so-called "politically incorrect" beliefs on various topics. Each book is written by a different author and generally presents a conservative or libertarian viewpoint on the subject at hand. The series was the brainchild of Jeffrey Rubin,[citation needed] then editor of the Conservative Book Club, Regnery's sister company within Washington, DC-based Eagle Publishing.

Each Politically Incorrect Guide contains the following:

Some books have variations on this theme, such as:

One feature of The Politically Incorrect Guide series is the ability for readers to vote (through Regnery's associate Human Events) on topics they would like to see covered in future books. The top three selected topics in a 2006 readers' poll[1] were: the United States Constitution, The Bible, and Capitalism. Books in the series for all three topics have since been published.

The Panda's Thumb, a blog which supports mainstream science and the consensus on evolution, reviewed The Politically Incorrect Guide to Darwinism and Intelligent Design providing analysis on nine of the 17 chapters and called it "not only politically incorrect but incorrect in most other ways as well: scientifically, logically, historically, legally, academically, and morally."[2] Chris Mooney has criticized The Politically Incorrect Guide to Science, calling it "the Incorrect Guide to Science".[3] Some historians also took issue with The Politically Incorrect Guide to the Civil War criticizing its "cherry-picked research and one-sided judgments of figures".[4][not in citation given] The One People's Project described author H.W. Crocker III as a neo-confederate.[5] Politically Incorrect Guide authors Kevin Gutzman and Clint Johnson have appeared on The Political Cesspool, a White nationalist radio show.[6]

Three of the books have been translated into Spanish:

Foolproof security for Rly network is difficult, expensive

Posted: May 4, 2014 at 5:42 pm

It requires 10 per cent deterrence and 90 per cent intelligence, say officials

New Delhi, May 4:

Society has to be its own protector. If somebody is out to kill , sadly, theres not much that can be done, said a railway official when the Mumbai train blasts took place on July 11, 2006.

While this may sound politically incorrect after the tragic blasts in Chennai on Thursday, it is not irrational.

Providing foolproof security to the over 70,000-km of railway network that moves two crore passengers daily, across 7,000 stations, is difficult and can get extremely expensive.

The railway network is porous. While there is scope to increase the number of scanners and security personnel, how much can you cover? Someone can simply walk along a rail track and enter a station, said the official. Moreover, despite putting scanners, people bypass the limited entry-exit points. Additionally, there are cases of malfunctioning of equipment.

Protecting such a large network requires 10 per cent deterrence and 90 per cent intelligence.

For commercially-oriented organisations, spending on security is seen as unproductive expenditure.

When the Commonwealth Games took place in Delhi in 2010 and there was the Kumbh Mela in Allahabad, Northern Railway had got inputs from security agencies on a possible threat.

At that time, some 100 crore was spent in beefing up the security network, said another official.

Friends: The One With Jeremy Clarkson's Word

Posted: at 5:42 pm

Thats a bit harsh, Jeremy.

Ill tell you whats harsh and I might as well deal with this now so we dont have a stand-up fight at the barbie whats harsh is you telling the meejah that it was 'quite wrong for me to say the Guy-Gibsons-dog word

I dont know what youre talking about. I didnt say anything about a dog or Guy Gibson, whoever he is.

I dont believe it! said Clarkson. How can an Englishman not know about the Dambusters? Youll be telling me youve never seen The Great Escape next. Well, for your information, Guy Gibson commanded 617 Squadron, and he had a black Labrador called well I cant tell you what it was called, because then Ill get into even more trouble. But it began with 'n.

What? He called his dog the n-word?

Yes! There was a war on. People had more important things to worry about. And so should you, frankly. Youre supposed to be running the country, not shopping your friends to the Thought Police.

But, Jeremy, you just cant say you know the word you cant say.

But thats the whole point! I didnt say the word you cant say. I actually emailed my producer to say that it might sound like Id said the word you cant say, even though I hadnt. So we re-recorded that bit to make it completely n-word-free. Now Im being crucified for something that I neither broadcast nor said.

But people think you said it, Dave argued, and they know were friends, so I have to dissociate myself from you, just in case they think I might approve.

Oh, naff off, Dave, youre being a total

EDITORIAL: NBA banning Sterling harsh, but right call

Posted: at 5:45 am

Published: Wednesday, April 30, 2014 at 6:00 p.m. Last Modified: Wednesday, April 30, 2014 at 6:35 p.m.

In recent years, the penalty for unwise remarks and wisecracks has often been too harsh. People have been pilloried for off-the-cuff comments meant in jest. Theyve had their reputations ruined, sometimes for speaking what amounts to unflattering or politically incorrect truth.

That is not the case with Los Angeles Clippers owner Donald Sterling.

The First Amendment to the Constitution of the United States guarantees, among other things, that people in this country have freedom of speech. That means the U.S. government cannot prevent people from expressing opinions.

It does not, however, guarantee that there are never consequences for what people say.

People involved in private business also have rights. And, if they feel that associating with a person is damaging to their business, they are free, within the bounds of their contractual agreement, to end that relationship.

National Basketball Association Commissioner Adam Silver said that the NBA is ending its relationship with Sterling over racist remarks that Sterling made to his girlfriend, V. Stiviano, a woman who is not only 50 years his junior, but of black and Hispanic heritage.

The incident is rich with irony. Sterling owns a team whose success simply wouldnt be possible without black players. Eighty percent of the players who make up the NBA are black. The players talent is responsible for his teams lofty $575 million value.

The incident that set off Sterlings rant involves a former black player, Earvin Magic Johnson, whose on-court brilliance is among the reasons the NBA franchises are so valuable today. If Johnson isnt welcome in an owners box at an NBA game, who on earth should be?

Sterling doesnt want black people sitting in his owners box, or inside his basketball arena for that matter, but he wants to date a woman who is biracial? He doesnt want to associate with black people, but he doesnt mind if they win an NBA championship for his team?

Judgy Maps Divide Neighborhoods Into Their Worst Stereotypes

Posted: April 30, 2014 at 9:43 am

Is Google Maps too ho hum for you? Say hello to the politically incorrect cartography of Judgmental Maps, a blog devoted to mapping out the stereotypes of as many cities as possible. Created by comedian Trent Gillaspie, Judgmental Maps started off with an ode to Denver, where Gillaspie grew up, and has since expanded to include submissions by others willing to lay claim to their city's worst attributes. Albuquerque, for example, is almost entirely "traffic" and "nothing."

Cities aren't entirely democratic places, as some of the more off-color characterizations hint at. Nearly every map contain references to crime, with some variation on "dead bodies" or "place you'll get shot," as well as nods to underlying racial and class tensions. With entire neighborhoods labeled as "Mexico" or "Cheap Asians" vividly demonstrate the persistence of segregation and racism in our cities.

When it comes to environmental issues, the political tilt is clear. San Francisco's notoriously polluted Hunter's Point neighborhood gets the simple label "cancer." A section of New York is called "oil spill"; another, "sludge."

While the unsavory (and racist) aspects of urban life tend to stand out, there's humor in some of the maps' more lighthearted jabs, like neighborhoods ruled by babies and overwhelming beverage choices. Memphis, for example, has an entire section devoted to "people proud, yet ashamed, to be from Memphis." One thing is for sure: Cities are complicated.

See all the maps here.
