Scientists claim to have seen fungi on Mars – Mediarun Search

An international group of Researchers She thinks she has found evidence of life on Mars. Is that they noticed pictures Red planet Where you can see something similar to a fungus. The images used by the scientists were made by Houmi Curiosity of e Another chance retired in 2019.
at Article published in Advances in MicrobiologyThe researchers shed light on the hypothesis that prokaryotes and eukaryotes had colonized Mars. In the summary of the study, they presented the theory that these life forms reached the neighboring planet leaving Earth.

A variety of species remain viable after prolonged exposure to radiation Intense in space and can survive the Earths ejection, after meteorite strikes and sterilizing ships heading to Mars; While simulation studies have shown that prokaryotes, fungi and lichens live in simulated Martian environments discoveries support the hypothesis that life may have been repeatedly transferred from Earth to Mars, explains the summary.
In the observed pictures, they believe they have found organisms similar to puffballs, a type of round fungus that resembles a small ball with thorns, which is found abundantly in Terra. The article highlights Fungi thrive in high radiation environments.
The researchers add that the sequence images document Mars samples that appear to be terrestrial fungi emerging from the soil and enlarging in size. Not only this. The group of scientists noted that after being crushed by flying wheels, new spherical fungi appeared, some of them stems, over the ancient remains.
The team went further. They said samples are identical to bacteriaBlack fungi have also appeared on the spacecraft. Using images from HiRISE, a camera on the orbiting Mars probe, the researchers found evidence of amorphous samples inside a crack. These changed their shape and location, then disappeared.
In concluding the article, the team of researchers says that it is already well established that a variety of terrestrial organisms live in conditions similar to those found on Mars. For the group, Earth would likely cultivate life in planet Neighbor and life are frequently transferred between worlds.
They noted that it would be surprising that there is no life on Mars. But nothing provokes too much excitement. The researchers also warned against this discovery, noting that the similarities in morphology are not evidence of life. We cannot completely get rid of the minerals, weather conditions, and unknown geological forces that are unique to Mars and alien to Earth.

How much is the space race worth? – Three fold Online
Posted: at 11:05 am
The pandemic, along with its impact on the global economy and our lifestyles, has not halted the everlasting aspiration we have to explore unknown territories outside our atmosphere.
On May 2, SpaceX, the spaceflight company owned by business magnate Elon Musk, safely returned four astronauts to Earth, making the first United States crew splashdown in darkness since the Apollo 8 moonshot in 1968, according to the Associated Press.
After 167 days in space, the longest duration mission for a U.S. spacecraft since the final Skylab mission in 1974, reads a tweet by SpaceXs official account, Dragon and the Crew-1 astronauts returned to Earth this morning! According to a report by Quilty Analytics, NASA awarded SpaceX with $1.75 billion to develop Crew Dragon.
However, the U.S. is not the only player in the current space race that began in the 1950s during the Cold Warfar from that. In March, China and Russia agreed to build joint lunar space station, according to a statement by the China National Space Administration. Furthermore, China also began planning to launch crew missions to Mars and deploy a space-based, commercial-scale solar power plant by 2050, according to CNN.
Latin American countries such as Nicaragua have also joined the race amid corruption and economic crises. On Feb. 17, Nicaragua approved a law creating the National Secretariat for the Affairs of Outer Space, the Moon and Other Celestial Bodies, and, despite the skepticism, Nicaragua denied it was for spying on the region or the U.S., according to AP. Costa Rica did the same on Feb. 18.
The political and economic impact of the space race is undeniable. Experts are still investigating the effects space missions like Apollo had on their nations. However, what economists and scientists alike agree on is that societies must decide when and how to invest in such technologies. But when exactly is the right time? Perhaps not during a public health emergency.
Although it is too recent to pinpoint how investing in space exploration affects our current societies during the COVID-19 pandemic, one thing we know for sure: Our priorities should lie on solving the instability resulting from unemployment, mass migration, climate change and unequal access to health services.
To routinely deny the importance of the space industry, especially during the commercial space age, would be to refuse to acknowledge the long-term benefits that come with it, including the possibility to discover what has always captured our minds. However, we must acknowledge that, perhaps, there are more pressing matters to attend to in the meantime.
Why is colonizing Mars part of our to do list as we are in the midst of fighting climate change before its irreversible? Why are we discussing space hotels when people are forced to leave their homes and find refuge in uninviting borders? If the space race is worth not ending world hunger, improving our quality of life or stopping the impending consequences of our lavish living, then it is worth much more than we can afford.

SpaceX’s Elon Musk hosting ‘Saturday Night Live’ this weekend – Space.com
Posted: May 7, 2021 at 3:53 am
Elon Musk is about to try his hand at comedy.
The SpaceX boss is hosting "Saturday Night Live" this weekend, on a show that features Miley Cyrus as the musical guest.
Musk seems pretty excited about the gig. He recently asked his nearly 53 million Twitter followers for sketch ideas and trotted out a few of his own.
"Irony Man defeats villains using the power of irony," Musk tweeted on May 1. (Actor Robert Downey Jr. has said he drew inspiration from Musk in shaping his portrayal of Tony Stark in the "Iron Man" films, and the billionaire entrepreneur has a cameo in "Iron Man 2.") "Baby Shark & Shark Tank merge to form Baby Shark Tank," Musk wrote in another tweet.
Those concepts may not make it onto the show. But we should expect some space-related sketches something playing off Musk's long-held dream of Mars colonization, perhaps, or SpaceX's upcoming launch of four private citizens to orbit on the Inspiration4 mission.
The SNL appearance comes in the middle of a pretty good run for SpaceX. On April 23, the company launched its second contracted crewed mission to the International Space Station for NASA, and the astronauts who flew on SpaceX's first operational flight to the orbiting lab came down to Earth on May 2.
And just yesterday (May 5), a prototype of SpaceX's Starship Mars rocket aced a high-altitude test flight for the first time. The shiny silver vehicle, known as SN15 ("Serial No. 15"), flew 6.2 miles (10 kilometers) into the South Texas skies and came down for a soft landing something that its four immediate predecessors had failed to achieve. (One of those previous vehicles, SN10, landed in one piece but exploded several minutes later.)
Musk has a longstanding interest in comedy. For example, he reportedly once wanted to buy The Onion, one of the longest-running and most venerated satirical outlets on the internet. He also helped bankroll a rival comedy site called Thud that was led by Onion alums but ended up backing out of the project.
Musk seems now to have soured on The Onion, which has put the billionaire in its satirical crosshairs multiple times. After a recent Onion slideshow joked that the South Africa-born Musk had gained his fortune via apartheid, Musk tweeted, "Shame on you, Onion. This is why people are switching to @TheBabylonBee!"
"Saturday Night Live" hosted by Elon Musk will air on NBC on May 8 at 11:30 p.m. EDT.
Mike Wall is the author of "Out There" (Grand Central Publishing, 2018; illustrated by Karl Tate), a book about the search for alien life. Follow him on Twitter @michaeldwall. Follow us on Twitter @Spacedotcom or Facebook.

SpaceX completes another Starship prototype flight, this time with no explosion on landing – Anchorage Daily News
Posted: at 3:53 am
SpaceXlaunched its Starship prototype on a test flight Wednesday and it finally landed in one piece.
The launch of SN15, as in serial number 15, took place from the companys test site inBoca Chica,Texas,after6:30 p.m. EDT.
We got some great views of the engines lighting up as we came down for a landing in a nice, slow velocity into the concrete landing pad, saidSpaceXcommentatorJohn Inspruckerfrom live stream of the launch and landing that lasted just over 6 minutes.
Only one of the previous four launches of a Starship prototype was able to land upright, but even that one exploded soon after it touched down.
This flight includes multiple upgrades and improvements to address the findings from the rapid unplanned disassembly we experienced on the last flight, Insprucker said. This vehicle also incorporates changes that get us closer to the orbital configuration planned for flight later.
The flight once again hit at least 10 km altitude in which its three Raptor engines cut off in sequence, followed by the prototype flipping for a horizontal unpowered descent before lighting up again, returning to a vertical position and then successfully landing.
SpaceXfounderElon Muskchimed in on Twitter to say, Starship landing nominal!
The new prototype included enhanced avionics and propellant architecture as well as a new Raptor engine design and configuration. The upgrades allowed for a more controlled aerodynamic descent using body flaps, and lessening the chance for another rapid unplanned disassembly.
This capability will enable a fully reusable transportation system designed to carry both crew and cargo on long-duration, interplanetary flights and help humanity return to the moon, and travel to Mars and beyond, reads a statement on theSpaceXwebsite.
Plans are forSpaceXto continue proving out flight ability for Starship with higher altitudes, and eventually orbital test flights. The tests follow a similar method it used when developing its Falcon rockets. Starship is the companys eventual replacement for its Falcon 9 and Falcon Heavy rockets.
The Starship design is meant to be used for both suborbital point-to-point flights on Earth and for deep-space missions. The full version will feature six Raptor engines, stand about 165 feet tall and have a 100-passenger capacity. The large version of Starship would be coupled with a Super Heavy booster with 37 Raptor engines combined for Mars colonization plans.
SpaceXwas recently awarded the contract from NASA to use a lunar Starship design as the Human Landing System for the Artemis III mission, during which NASA aims to land the first people on the moon, including the first woman, since the Apollo missions ended in 1972.

In this week's comments update, readers are considering a concept for a self-sufficient city onMarsand sharing their views on other top stories.
Abiboo has designed the concept for a self-sufficient city set within a cliff on Mars. The architecture studio claims Nwa could be built in 2054.
The vertical settlement, which could eventually house 250,000 people, would be built using materials available on the planet.
"Colonialism is alive and well"
Readers aren't sold on the idea. "Go and live somewhere with no water, oxygen and if you go outside, you die?" asked Bubba10. "Sounds like a marketer's dream."
"The biggest problem is that Mars has much lower gravity than Earth," added Egad. "The human body has evolved to be compatible with gravity and cannot survive without it. Until they can invent gravity, this idea of Mars habitation is merely fanciful fiction."
Elie Atallah had other concerns: "Colonialism is alive and well! Settlements! The sense of superiority is staggering."
"Let's not forget that we know a place that is closer, has air, water, food and for a long, long time seemed to be working," finished Marius. "There is new snappy slogan in London: 'Do not move, improve'. How about adopting it on the third rock from the sun?"

Readers continue to debate NFTs after designers claimed their emergence will trigger a wave of artistic innovation and allow creatives to sell avant-garde work directly to customers.
';"What I like about this new market is that artists who do digital work can monetise their files the same way as artists who create physical work," said Zea Newland. "You no longer need movies, architectural commissions or games in order to get paid."
"Who the hell wants to own a digital file that can't do squat except take up space on your hard drive?" asked Design Junkie. "Little to do with art and all to do with money."
Captain Sensible agreed: "Artists and designers need to take a good, long, look at themselves and ask whether they are actually contributing to the improvement of art and society, or whether they are merely chasing trends."

Musician Grimes Is Ready for Space Travel With Full Back Alien Scar Tattoo – autoevolution
Posted: at 6:56 am
You know youre ready for space tourism and whatever dangers might lie ahead when your back is already scarred by aliens.
Shortly before declaring she was ready to die with the red dirt of Mars beneath my feet, while striking a pose at the SpaceX base in Texas, with SN11 in the background, Grimes got herself a new full back tattoo. The piece is relevant because it ties in with her and Musks conviction that space tourism will become a reality within the next decade. Tops.
Available below is a shot of the tattoo, which looks like apparently meaningless swirls. It was done entirely in white ink, meaning it will resemble scarring once it heals. Grimes herself calls it beautiful alien scars, though the internet is more of the opinion that it resembles either jellyfish scarring or the scribbles of a toddler armed with a felt-tip pen and imagination galore.
Artist Nusi Quero took part in the design process for the piece, and he explains that it was partly computer-generated, partly hand-drawn. It was also done in one go, and it was such a beautiful experience and talisman [for Grimes] world. Electric energy is abuzz.
Neither the tattoo artist nor Grimes says anything about the possible scenario that would result in the scars. But you know its real love when your girl prepares for space colonization by getting the worst out of the way.

What the heck do elevators have to do with outer space?
Source: Shutterstock
More than you might think.
And what does this have to do with investing?
Again, more than you might think.
When standing in the presence of the awe-inspiring New York skyline or any other tall building, its easy to forget how those buildings wouldnt exist without the elevator.
After all, who would walk up 50 flights of stairs every day?
The elevator enabled us to build toward the heavens, creating trillions of dollars worth of wealth in the process.
And now, a new innovation is set to launch another building boom toward the heavens. It will also create trillions of deals in wealth, except this time we will construct those new worlds in the sky
The new space race is both fascinating and filled with potential.
As the space economy develops, some of the related stocks have legitimate 20X, 30X, even 50X upside. Whats coming is not only exciting, but also potentially lifechanging capable of generating enormous wealth for you and your family.
I want us to grab our share of this wealth. Thats why in the current Investment Opportunities issue, I lay out my big-picture case for investing in the about-to-boom-like-crazy space economy and why we started what I believe is the worlds best space investor portfolio.
Its also why I joined InvestorPlace CEO Brian Hunt for the premiere episode of InvestorPlaces podcast,Ahead of the Curve,to dive into the opportunity. Its a fascinating discussion, and I invite you to give it a listen.
The key to this whole opportunity, which we talk about at the beginning, is a recent gamechanger in space exploration reusable rockets.
And that takes us right back to the elevator. Imagine a new elevator needing to be built every time someone had to get to the 50th floor of a building in Manhattan.
Crazy, right? The economics are not realistic.
And yet, thats basically what happened whenever something was sent into space. It required a new elevator every single time. Rockets were a one-and-done product that cost billions of dollars.
But that has now changed, which makes the coming space race all the more exciting and potentially lucrative.
Reusable rockets have lowered the cost to launch a satellite into orbit by 70% from $200 million to about $60 million. Costs should continue to decline and could be as little as $500,000 in the future.
With this ongoing innovation, you might be able to guess which companies are leading the way
SpaceX, which is Tesla (NASDAQ:TSLA) founder Elon Musks privately held company
And Blue Origin, which is backed by none other than Amazon (NASDAQ:AMZN) founder Jeff Bezos.
Just yesterday, SpaceX was selected to provide the rocket for a 2023 mission to land a rover on the Moon. Elon Musks ultimate goal for SpaceX is to colonize Mars. Thats a big one, but Musk didnt become who he is by dreaming small.
As I told Brian during the podcast, the video of SpaceXs reusable rocket is absolutely amazing. You can find it on YouTube here. Watch how it blasts off, comes back down and lands itself perfectly on the platform.
Regardless of which research firm you ask, the space economy is going to be big to the tune of trillions of dollars. By the end of the Roaring 2020s, Bank of America predicts the space industry will more than triple from todays value to $1.4 trillion.
To put that number into perspective, the global tourism economy was worth $1.5 trillion (before the pandemic).
But I believe that number is way below the space economys true potential. If a human can reach Mars within the decade, it will be one of the greatest human feats in history. Just think about the possibilities and even more importantly the space race that will ensue between nations.
Looking back at the Moon landing in 1969, it cost about $150 billion in todays dollars for the Apollo program. But what was the economic impact over the years on the global economy through innovation?
Did you know that Black & Decker now Stanley Black & Decker (NYSE:SWK) used the information it gathered building tools for NASA to develop the battery-powered tools we take for granted today? An investment in its stock in the early 1970s would be up about 4,000%.
Plantronics (NYSE:PLT) took its work on headsets for the missions and that led to the mass production of headsets used in most industries.
Many other innovations are also credited to space exploration, including dustbusters, memory foam, artificial limbs, the computer mouse, laptops and athletic shoes. Even the camera phone has its origins in space travel. Just think if all the millennials didnt have their phone for selfies!
In other words, the total economic impact of the Moon landing and Apollo missions was likely in the trillions of dollars over the decades. The economic impact of the next space race could be even bigger Im talking tensof trillions of dollars.
Could space exploration truly be the last frontier for humans on Earth? Could we really construct new worlds in the sky?
The answer looks more and more like yes. Lots of people, including the wealthiest people in the world, believe that space offers the best investment opportunity of the coming decades.
Count me in. I really do expect this next space boom will see us constructing new worlds in the sky and create trillions of dollars along the way.

Elon Musk is an alien who tries to escape from earth, bizarre theory goes viral on internet – IBTimes India
Posted: April 13, 2021 at 6:52 am
Was Pentagon researching on alien and UFO-related incidents?
In an attempt to make humans a multi-planetary species, South African billionaire Elon Musk has several times detailed his plans to build a permanent colony on Mars. Musk believes that humans are the only conscious beings in the universe, and using this consciousness, the species should try to colonize other planets for a better tomorrow. As Musk continues his efforts to colonize other planets, a section of conspiracy theorists has started claiming that Elon Musk is an alien who is trying to escape from earth.
Is Elon Musk an alien?
According to conspiracy theorists, the ultimate aim of Elon Musk is to escape from planet earth, as he has accidentally reached earth, just like Superman visited earth in the Hollywood movie Man of Steel. These conspiracy theorists believe that Elon Musk's recent attempts to pursue Mars colonization is an indication that the billionaire wants to escape from planet earth by any means.
Representational Image of alien (Left), Elon Musk (Right)YouTube
Earlier, Elon Musk himself has revealed that he will visit Mars despite narrow chances of survival. He also made it clear that the future government that will be set up on the Red Planet will be based on direct democracy.
Moreover, in several tweets, Elon Musk had sarcastically claimed that he is an alien. Several users had recently asked Musk whether he is from Mars or from other planets from star systems like Alpha Centauri. To all these queries, Musk responded that he is an alien.
Alien existence on earth
A few months back, Haim Eshed, a former Israeli space security chief had claimed that alienexistence on earth is real. According to Eshed, an advanced alien species from a distant planet has been working together with world powers like the United States and Israel for several years. He also revealed that there is a galactic federation and a secretive base on Mars where representatives of humans and extraterrestrialsare working together.

Epic NASAs Ingenuity Helicopter Poised to Forever Change the Way We Explore Other Planets – The Daily Galaxy –Great Discoveries Channel
Posted: April 11, 2021 at 5:42 am
NASAs Ingenuity mini-helicopter is charging up its solar panels and spinning its blades in preparation to fly above the Martian surface. The 4-pound drone is set to lift off early on Monday in an atmosphere just 1/100th as dense as Earths, rise 10 feet above Mars Jezero Crater, harboring, NASA hopes, fossilized life that might have thrived billions of years ago, then gently touch back down. The insect-like craft uses a microchip that is comparable to what was found in cellphones a few years ago about 150 times the computing power available to the much larger Perseverance rover.
The landing site in Jezero Crater with landforms reaching as far back as 3.6 billion years old, could potentially answer important questions in planetary evolution and astrobiology, said Thomas Zurbuchen, associate administrator for NASAs Science Mission Directorate. It will revolutionize how we think about Mars and its ability to harbor life.
A livestream confirming Ingenuitys first flight is targeted to begin around 3:30 a.m. EDT Monday, April 12, on NASA Television, the NASA app, and the agencys website, and will livestream on multiple agency social media platforms, including the JPL YouTube and Facebook channels.
Taking off from the surface of Mars, reports Kenneth Chang for The New York Times, is comparable to flying at an altitude of 100,000 feet on Earth. No helicopter on our planet has flown that high, and its more than two times the typical flying altitude of jetliners. The entire flight should last about 40 seconds, but it could forever change the way NASA explores other planets. Future Mars helicopters could scout out canyons and mountains that rovers cant access, fly in and out of craters, or even do reconnaissance for astronauts.
Something Much Stranger? Jezero Crater Mystery, Landing Site for NASAs Mars Perseverance Rover
Each world gets only one first flight, MiMi Aung, the project manager for Ingenuity, said in a briefing on Friday. The Wright brothers achieved the first flight on Earth. Ingenuity is poised to go for being the first on Mars.
Even if conditions at Jezero Crater are perfect, though, flying on Mars is challenging with the air there has just 1% the density of Earths atmosphere, the equivalent of flying three times higher than the peak of Mount Everest. To catch enough lift with so few molecules to push against, NASA reports, the helicopters two pairs of blades spin in opposite directions at a speed roughly eight times faster than a passenger helicopter on Earth.
There were some people who doubted we could generate enough lift to fly in that thin Martian atmosphere, Amiee Quon, who tested Ingenuity in a Mars-simulation chamber on Earth, said in the Friday briefing.
Suppose that it does, in fact, work. What we will have proven is that we can add an aerial dimension to discovery and exploration on Mars, Zurbuchen said. That aerial dimension, of course, opens up aspects of science and overall exploration that, frankly, at this moment in time, are only our dreams.
A NASA First Helicopter Will Survey Mars Jezero Crater for Signs of Life
Were Already Colonizing Mars It starts with Instagram posts and discarded parachutes, and the sense that a world is ours for the taking. , The first attempt at powered, controlled flight of an aircraft on another planet. Or, to put it in more mundane terms, Mars will have become another airport, reports Slate.
That landing spot was named by the NASA team Octavia E. Butler Landing. a homage to Butler as a visionary artist and as the first sci-fi author to receive a MacArthur Fellowship. The name conjoins the daring mission of the Perseverance rover with the legacy of a luminous writer of intellectually daring novels. It also meaningfully honors a Black woman, on behalf of NASA.
Few writers. says Chrsitopher Schaberg for Slate, have been as acutely aware of the moral quandaries of human domination and planetary colonization (see Dawn), and of how colonies function as palimpsests of slavery and other cross-generational patterns of violence (consider Kindred).
