Meet the TK-360, Givenchy’s Futuristic New Knit Shoe – CR Fashion Book

Posted: May 11, 2022 at 11:23 am

The sneaker of the future is here today. Thats the overwhelming sentiment surrounding the new TK-360 mens sneaker from Givenchy. TK stands for total knit, a nod to the shoes unique material that wraps around from top to bottom; 360 references the 360 degrees of knit. The shoe lacks the traditional rubber sole, leaving it lighter and more distinctly shaped than any of its competitors. An arc on the bottom of the TK-360 makes it so that much of the shoe does not touch the ground when you wear it. With a distinct shape and one-of-a-kind style, the TK-360 is certainly a disruption to the norms of the sneaker market.

Givenchy Creative Director Matthew M. Williams is the man responsible for the avant-garde shoe. Dubbing it his dream shoe, the TK-360 represents the envelope-pushing vision Williams has brought to the brand since his appointment in mid-2020. Eagle-eyed fans may recognize the summer-ready knit shoe from its debut on the Spring 2022 runway, though it has now become a prominent part of the houses Pre-Fall 2022 collection as well. Simple but well-constructed, it bears a minimalist Givenchy logo on the side. Its a safe bet to say that the TK-360 will be one of the defining pieces of Williams tenure at Givenchy.

2023 Ford E-Transit Custom Is An Electric Van With A Futuristic Face And 236-Mile Range – CarScoops

Posted: at 11:23 am

Fords electrification push is taking a big step forward with the unveiling of the all-new E-Transit Custom.

Billed as an all-electric successor to Europes best-selling van, the E-Transit Custom is a head turner in a segment where boring typically rules the day.

The bold design instantly stands out as the van has an expressive face with a studded grille, which is flanked by LED headlights that are connected by an illuminated bar. Theyre joined by a sculpted bumper and a front-mounted charging port.

The rest of the van is more conventional, but it eschews slab-sided styling for soft, subtle curves. We can also see a generous wheelbase, a flowing shoulder line, and pronounced wheel arches. The modern styling continues out back with stylish LED taillights and a classier rear end with double-doors.

Ford is keeping specifications under wraps, but said the van rides on a no-compromise all-electric architecture and is targeted to have a range of up to 236 miles (380 km). It will also have a DC fast-charging capability, the ability to tow, and ProPower Onboard technology just like the F-150 Lightning. The latter will enable owners to use the van as a portable generator to power lights, tools, and other equipment on job sites.

While thats not much to go on, the company said the van has been designed to set a new benchmark in Europes one-tonne van segment and help businesses across the region to effortlessly make the change to electrified vehicles. The automaker added it will be supported by Ford Pro software, charging, service and financing solutions via one comprehensive platform to help increase uptime and reduce operating costs.

Well learn more about the E-Transit Custom in September, ahead of the start of production in Turkey during the second half of 2023.

Futuristic ‘vertical farm’ will grow food in towers to feed people in Suffolk – Suffolk Live

Posted: at 11:23 am

Suffolk is a rural county and much of it is farmland, something which is set to increase with the arrival of a multi-million pound investment in a cutting edge farm facility. Most farms you've seen will probably have been flat, or at the very most on a slight hill, while this farm is anything but conventional.

OneFarm is a sustainable food producer which has secured the cash to build a 6,400 square metre 'vertical farm' in Newmarket, promising to grow up to 415 tonnes of food each year to feed local people. The project has been backed by Suffolk County Council (SCC) and New Anglia Local Enterprise Partnership (NALEP) and is due to begin construction later this year.

You're probably still wondering what the difference is between a normal farm and one which is vertical - here's a hint; it is exactly what you're thinking. The food doesn't just grow upwards, the whole farm is skyward reaching as crops are grown on 'towers' instead of fields.

These growth towers will stand up to nine metres tall, creating an area of 6,400 square metres without needing that in floor space. When complete it will be the second largest farm of its kind in the UK, with a phase two planned to double that in the future - growing more than 1,000 tonnes a year. The farm will be repurposing a disused warehouse site in Newmarket and should be fully operational by early 2023.

The project is being delivered alongside IGS Limited, which is a leading agritech specialist (agritech put simply is the application of technology to produce more with less, make the farming process more efficient, from field monitoring to the food supply chain itself). The vertical farm will also help the LEP to develop its 'clean growth' ambitions for the eastern region.

OneFarm is committed to producing crops sustainably and in an environment requiring no pesticides or herbicides with a vision to operate up 25 indoor vertical farms in the UK. With an emphasis on produce freshness and optimum quality, the new farm will grow a range of herbs and salads on-demand to avoid waste and unnecessary harvesting, with agreements already in place to supply selected retailers.

Mira Merme, CEO of OneFarm commented: "Consumers deserve locally grown, fresh, good quality food, grown without pesticides and with low water usage, and OneFarms in-house brand, Wholly Food, provides just that, every day of the year. Its truly local food for local people. We are excited to be at the forefront of this fast-emerging sector, which we strongly believe will play an important role in the future of food production."

IGS CEO, David Farquhar, commented: "OneFarm, Suffolk County Council and to New Anglia LEP are ambitious and forward-thinking, and steeped in both agritech and agricultural knowledge. We are very proud to have been selected to work alongside them to help deliver their combined vision."

Best 70-Inch TVs of 2022 – Futurism

Posted: at 11:23 am

Invest in a TV the entire family can enjoy with one of the best 70-inch TVs. Ideal for the living room or media room, these broad screens create a cinematic experience at home, giving you the opportunity to enjoy popular movies that you may have missed while they were in theater.

If you tend to use your TV more for gaming than binge watching, you should look for a 70-inch TV that has at least 4K resolution and a fast refresh rate to ensure your gameplay isnt hindered by a slow TV. Find out more below and check out our picks for the best 70-inch TVs.

Best Overall: VIZIO 70-Inch M6 Series Premium 4K Smart TV Best Budget: Insignia 70-Inch 4K UHD Smart Fire TV Best QLED: SAMSUNG 70-Inch Class QLED Q60A Series Best 4K: LG UQ 90 Series 70-Inch Alexa Built-in 4K Smart TV Best Smart TV: SAMSUNG 70-inch TU-7000 Series Class Smart TV

TV technology is always changing as the industry pushes for faster refresh rates, better resolution, and streamlined operating systems that can keep up with the wide variety of apps and streaming services. To put a list together of the best 70-inch TVs, we drew on our knowledge of current technology in order to understand the benefits and drawbacks of over 25 different products.

The resolution and refresh rate were primary factors for consideration because, as TV, film, and game technology advances, it is important to have a television that can keep up with user demands. Similarly, TV panel technology has progressed far beyond plasma and LCD screens, with many companies investing in high-end OLED and QLED products. We also factored in the actual dimensions of TVs, because even if you are hanging one on the wall, you need to know the width, height, and depth in order to ensure you have enough space. We also took extra features, like smart home integration or a voice-controlled remote, into consideration during the selection process.

The VIZIO M6 Series Premium 4K Smart TV is an excellent option for the living room, giving the family a huge screen to enjoy playing video games, watching streamers, or binging YouTube videos all through the intuitive smart TV menu. This 70-inch TV boasts a brilliant QLED display, ensuring users get to experience intense colors and sharp contrasts. The visuals are further enhanced by the 4K screen resolutions and the variable refresh rate, which increases or decreases to keep up with the current demand.

The maximum 60-hertz refresh rate isnt going to be the best choice for first-person shooters or fast-paced action games, but its more than enough for RPGs, strategy games, movies, and TV shows. Users can connect the TV to smart home devices or take advantage of the voice-controlled remote instead of scrolling endlessly through menus. Additionally, this TV has an IQ Active processor for quicker access to apps, superior picture processing, and a more responsive TV experience.

Choose live TV, streaming apps, or search through thousands of channels to find something to enjoy with friends and family using this Insignia 4K UHD Smart Fire TV. This 70-inch TV measures 62.4 inches in width by 11.8 inches in depth by 37 inches in height. It has a 60 hertz refresh rate that ensures users wont miss a moment of the action, while its DTS Sound Studio provides clear, engaging audio for a truly immersive experience.

Users can activate the TV with their voice using Amazon Alexa, and the TV can also be linked to other compatible smart home devices to integrate it into a smart home network. The 4K UHD resolution doesnt just look great, it also helps to avoid eye strain by providing clear images with sharp contrast. Just make sure to set up a screensaver or auto-off timer to prevent burning a still image into the screen.

If outstanding display is important to you, youll appreciate the visuals that come with Samsungs impressive QLED technology. While the refresh rate wont help in fast-paced first-person shooters, 60 hertz is more than enough to get lost in stunning landscapes or action-packed fight scenes. The SAMSUNG Class QLED Q60A Series TV doesnt just rely on QLED panel technology, it also uses dual LED backlighting for optimized backlight color tones, which create sharper contrast.

In addition, you can control this 70-inch TV with voice commands due to the built-in Amazon Alexa technology, so you dont need to search for a remote. Additionally, the TV is only 1 inch thick when it is installed without the stand, making it an ideal option for a wall-mounted installation to help save space.

The LG UQ 90 Series 4K Smart TV is designed with an immersive 4K UHD resolution that helps revitalize old movies and video games, while allowing new media to take full advantage of current technology to create beautiful scenes and remarkable visuals. It comes with a dedicated game mode optimizer that allows users to keep all the game settings in one location, instead of trying to adjust the brightness, contrast, and other TV settings just to enjoy an hour of gameplay.

This 70-inch TV features an a5 Gen 5 AI processor to enhance the picture and sound. Its refresh rate is 60 hertz, which is good for RPGs, strategy games, and watching TV, though it may not give players an edge in fast-paced gaming environments. Also, it should be noted that the TV weighs 63.5 pounds, so before installing it on a wall mount, make sure that the mount can handle the weight.

The SAMSUNG TU-7000 Series Class Smart TV takes a huge step away from old TV technology with Smart Home integration. This 70- inch smart TV can connect to several popular SmartHome systems including Amazon Alexa, Google Assistant, and Apple AirPlay 2, giving users the option to take control of their TV with simple voice commands and spend less time searching for the remote.

The TV uses Samsungs Tizen operating system for access to streaming apps, like Netflix and Disney, as well as providing the Universal Guide for a list of content curated based on the users tastes. This 70-inch TV also has an automatic game mode, so when its time to switch to the latest RPG, the TV will automatically optimize the screen resolution and minimize the input lag for a smoother gaming experience. Just keep in mind that this TV does not use QLED panel technology, so the colors and contrasts are limited.

Buying a 70-inch TV is a significant investment, so its important to consider several factors before making your final decision.

One thing all 70-inch TVs should have in common is the screen size, measured diagonally from the top right corner to the bottom left corner. However, this doesnt mean that every 70-inch TV has the same width, height, or depth. To be certain that your new TV will be able to fit in the intended location, its important to find out the exact dimensions of the product and compare them with measurements from your home.

Keep in mind that if you invest in a TV with a curved screen, the depth of the TV will be greater than a product with a flat screen, though this also means that the TV should be able to fit more comfortably in a corner. Before choosing a 70-inch TV for the living room, plan where you want to set it up, take measurements, and use this information to find a suitable TV.

If you are looking for a TV for fast-paced gaming, then the refresh rate is a key product spec that you need to factor in when you are deciding on the best 70-inch TV for the home. The refresh rate is essentially the speed at which the image on the screen is refreshed within one second, which is generally measured in hertz (Hz).

A refresh rate of 60 hertz is decent for role-playing games and puzzle games that dont typically require precise timing, especially when paired with 4K resolution. But if the refresh rate on your TV is even slightly behind one of your competitors in a first-person shooter (FPS) game, then they have the advantage when it comes to responding to visual stimuli on the screen.

Consider investing in a TV with a 120 hertz refresh rate for rapid FPS response times. However, if the goal is to sit back and relax in front of one of your favorite binge-worthy shows, like Vikings or Euphoria, then a 60 hertz refresh rate is perfectly fine.

TV resolution refers to the number of pixels the TV uses to create the picture on the screen. In general, the higher the resolution, the more pixels are used, and the better the image. Currently, 4K or UHD is the most common resolution available for 70-inch TVs. This refers to any TV that can display images in 3840 x 2160 resolution, which is a significant step up from HD TVs that display images in 720 x 1280 or 1080 x 1920 resolution.

Its difficult to find new TVs available with standard definition (SD) displays, which is only 480 x 640 resolution, though some smaller products may still have this lower resolution. Similarly, it isnt easy to find a wide variety of 8K TVs because 8K resolution is still relatively new technology. Opt for a 4K 70-inch TV for the best results or if you are an early adopter, maybe consider making the switch to 8K to see the future benefits.

The way in which the TV screen displays the pictures, images, and video is reliant on the type of panel technology the manufacturer used, including LED, OLED, QLED, and ULED options.

LED TVs use LED backlighting to transmit an image onto the Liquid Crystal Display (LCD) panel, while newer technology, like OLED TVs, have panels that emit their own light. Its important to understand that there is no difference between LED and LCD TVs. The terms LED and LCD were at one point used to differentiate between devices because there were LCD TVs that used cold-cathode fluorescent lights (CCFLs) for backlighting instead of LEDs, but CCFL TVs have mostly been replaced by LED TVs. Of course, LED TVs are now being pushed out of the market to make room for the superior OLED and QLED products, but if you dont mind the older tech, then opting for an LED 70-inch TV is a great way to save some money.

OLED TVs are one of the top options for panel technology. OLED stands for Organic Light Emitting Diode, which essentially means that the panels in these TVs emit their own light instead of having to be backlit to create pictures. OLED technology has surpassed LED technology in several ways, but the most distinct is that an OLED TV controls each LED individually, allowing the TV to simply turn off specific LEDs to create a true-black appearance. Despite this improvement, OLED technology is not perfect. Since each pixel is an individual light source, OLED TVs have a hard time displaying incredibly bright scenes in full color without overheating. To prevent overheating, these TVs appear dimmer when they are displaying a large amount of bright colors, like a hockey game or a snowy winter scene.

QLED TVs are a brand-specific option manufactured by Samsung, though some other companies, including Sony, may also carry a small number of QLED products. They are considered by some to be superior to OLED TVs, but there is still some debate about this. QLED stands for Quantum Dot Light Emitting Diode. This technology uses microscopic nanocrystals called quantum dots that react to blue light by emitting red light or green light, depending on the size of the nanocrystals in nanometers. This allows 70-inch QLED TVs to create brighter colors than LEDs and stunning contrasts that rival OLED TVs.

ULED simply means Ultra Light Emitting Diode, but this term doesnt carry the same meaning as LED, OLED, or QLED. The reason for this is because ULED is used to refer to products that operate using a collection of Hisense hardware and software. It doesnt relate to the actual picture quality or lighting technology, so if you see a TV labeled as ULED, just make sure to take the time to research the product specifications before deciding on one of these 70-inch TVs.

Quantum Dot Technology is a brand-specific panel technology developed by Samsung. It uses quantum dots, which are microscopic nanocrystals that react to blue light by emitting red light or green light. Using this technology, QLED TVs can create high-quality pictures that rival OLED TVs without sacrificing brightness.

A 70-inch smart TV provides you with an immersive gaming or cinematic experience, but to get the most out of the high-quality visuals, you need to be sitting back enough for your eyes to take in the entire screen. Otherwise, you will be spending a lot of time trying to follow the action, while a portion of the screen is lingering in your peripheral vision. For a 70-inch TV, its recommended to sit about 6 to 10 feet away from the screen.

There is some debate about whether OLED or QLED technology is better. Both types of panel technology offer impressive visuals, though QLED TVs are almost exclusively available through Samsung, limiting your options. However, it should be noted that to prevent overheating, OLED TVs are actually dimmer than QLED TVs, so if you want the brightest colors available, a QLED TV may be better.

70 inch TVS can range in price depending on several factors, including the panel technology, the resolution, and the brand. TVs made by well-known brands, like Sony, Samsung, or LG will tend to cost more than products made by lesser known TV manufacturers, like Vizio, Hisense, or Insignia. Similarly, if a smart TV uses a popular operating system, such as Roku, then it may have a higher price than a new operating system that isnt as well known. With these factors in mind, you can expect to pay as little as $500 or more than $2,000 for a 70-inch TV.

Enjoy rapid picture processing that helps you take advantage in fast-paced video games with the VIZIO 70-Inch M6 Series Premium 4K Smart TV, or go with the more affordable Insignia 70-inch 4K UHD Smart Fire TV to experience a large library of movies, streaming channels, music, and more.

One of the few certainties during the period were living in is how uncertain it is. That makes communication more complex. Communicators know flexibility and adaptability are vital in message creation at a time of potential global political instability, inflation and possible recession, supply chain hang-ups and a pandemic that lingers. There are few things more uncertain than COVID. Even as mask mandates are lifted, the virus pokes through. For instance, at our press time, media reports warned of rising COVID levels in NYC. RISMedia’s Newsmakers: Honoring the Futurists and the Influencers – RisMedia.com

Posted: at 9:55 pm

The future is shaped by those who inspire others to follow their lead, whether in bold action or provoking thought. This is true of any industry and real estate is no exception.

To recognize those driving real estate forward, we celebrate the Futurists and Influencers in our annual RISMedia Real Estate Newsmakers awards. These individuals have demonstrated that they have the ability to redefine the industry, and boast an exceptional ability to foretell what the future holds for real estate. We were pleased to honor everyone in both categories, and wanted to hear firsthand what this recognition means to some of them. Since theyve proven themselves as forecasters, we also asked their thoughts on what 2022 holds for the industry and their respective markets.

Cody Gibson

To opening a digital brokerage in all 50 states, for Keller Williams to operate the expansion network. Were licensed in 32 states today for our expansion network and our goal before the end of the year is to be licensed and operational in all 50 of those states which gives our expansion businesses, expansion team owners, expansion real estate agents an ability to easily maneuver around their state or their country so they can build their business truly without borders.

Shawna Gilbert

The RE/MAX Global team remains committed to advancing careers and helping individuals and families find a community of their own around the globe and well continue to do so in 2022. Weve just sold Master Franchise Rights to RE/MAX Taiwan, and we greatly look forward to helping the new owners revolutionize their local real estate industry. Ill be heading up our recently announced partnership with the Womens Council of REALTORS, a network committed to advancing women as business leaders. RE/MAX has always been a welcoming company for women leaders and entrepreneurs, and I am thrilled to bring this new resource and network to our affiliates.

Judi Nield

It might seem like a simple tenet, but my focus is and has always been on the real estate agents of Legacy Real Estate & Associates, ERA Powered. In collaboration with our Agent Advisory Council, our Leadership Team drills down on industry pain points, anticipates market shifts, and implements programs and resources to support agents. Were focused on growing as a company, coaching great REALTORS, providing listing activity automation and buyer services, delivering technology and marketing innovations, and keeping person-to-person relationships at the forefront.

Michele Harrington

So right now in Southern California our main pain point is people just not wanting to sell their houses and move up and move down or move sideways so we have a serious lack of inventory it seems like. As interest rates rise the inventory problem is probably gonna get worse so we need to figure out creative ways for people to want to move either by buying down rates or buying their properties so they can take their time and shop for their dream home so that we can get these first time buyers into the market and keep the pipeline moving, so our main focus is gonna be freeing up inventory.

Jessica Lautz

This year is becoming a period of transition following the pandemic, which greatly fueled the already high demand for housing. 2022 has seen a confluence of factors that have challenged homebuyers entering the market, including the rise in mortgage rates, the continual increase in price, and fierce competition. Homebuyers may see less competition as some buyers are shut out of the market and as prices moderate.

Mickey Alam Khan

The high-end of the real estate market will continue to face pressure on inventory through the end of the year, forcing agents and brokers to think even more creatively to generate listings

Rising interest rates will also affect mortgages and aspirational first-time home buyers. And brokers will continue to face pressure on commission splits as top agents and their teams demand more of the cut or threaten defection. 2022 is likely to remain a sellers market, barring a spillover of the Russian war on Ukraine into other parts of Europe or the United States.

Dove Cameron’s Iris Van Herpen Gown Gives a Futuristic Take on the Gilded Age at the 2022 Met Gala – Vanity Fair

Posted: at 9:55 pm

Dove Cameron went bold for her debut on the Met Gala red carpet, wearing an otherworldly interpretation of gilded glamour.

The actress attended fashion's biggest night in a skeletal Iris van Herpen gown paired with earrings by Brilliant Earth, rings by Marli and the Residency, heels by Le Silla, and a Roger Vivier bag. Cameron explained that since the Gilded Age was all about using new technology and textiles to make grand fashion, grand design, and cutting-edge designs that no one had ever seen before, I think that Iris and I wanted to carry that same intention into tonight and have a modern and futuristic take on the Gilded Age.

She also pointed out that, for her, the theme is all about excess and new cutting-edge exploratory design. Its the celebration of the furthest reaches of fashion and grandiose, larger than life sort of images and shapes. I think the look that Iris and I worked on definitely embodies all of that and more. And while the entire gown was stunning, Cameron said her favorite detail had to be the clavicle leading up to the neck. It reminds me of a spine, and I love how intricate and detailed it is. Its something Ive never seen before and definitely makes me feel feminine, divine, and very much like myself.

Of course, while the Met Gala is totally focused on the over-the-top fashions, for the attendees, it's also about getting yourself mentally and physically prepared to walk up that grand staircase. Cameron is no stranger to the red carpet, explaining that she usually prepares by using an LED face mask to get that extra bit of glow as she feels like it brings blood to the surface, wakes up my skin, and helps other products sink in. She continued, But for my mental health, because carpets can make me quite anxious, I will stretch and do yoga, sit in silence, meditate, and even blast music and dance around. I definitely like to make an all-day event of getting ready for a carpet. But when it came to the Met Gala, that routine got a little more extensive. I definitely did extra skin care. I saw Joanna Vargas this morning, who I love, she said. I also do a lot of gua sha. I also feel like Im more hydrated now than Ive been in months. I think because its probably the biggest carpet in the world, theres just been extra preparation and thinking about it a few weeks out rather than just a few days.
