Posted: July 17, 2017 at 4:17 am
EDAP TMS S.A. (NasdaqGM:EDAP) has a Q.i. Value of 60.00000. The Q.i. Value ranks companies using four ratios. These ratios consist of EBITDA Yield, FCF Yield, Liquidity, and Earnings Yield. The purpose of the Q.i. Value is to help identify companies that are the most undervalued. Typically, the lower the value, the more undervalued the company tends to be.
Investors looking to make big gains in the equity market may be looking to fine tune an existing strategy or create a whole new one. It may sound quite easy, buy low and sell high. Obviously, navigating the stock market typically entails much more than that. Identifying market tops and correction levels may be very difficult. Of course, it always hurts to take a loss, but figuring out how to shrink losses can help keep the ship afloat during turbulent market conditions. The situation for the average investor may vary greatly from one person to the next. Some investors will be working with a short-term plan, while other may be focused on a longer-term investment horizon. Goals may also vary from individual to individual. Keeping these goals in sight may help clear up the sometimes foggy investing waters, and provide clarity for creating a winning portfolio.
Checking in on some valuation rankings, EDAP TMS S.A. (NasdaqGM:EDAP) has a Value Composite score of 59. Developed by James OShaughnessy, the VC score uses five valuation ratios. These ratios are price to earnings, price to cash flow, EBITDA to EV, price to book value, and price to sales. The VC is displayed as a number between 1 and 100. In general, a company with a score closer to 0 would be seen as undervalued, and a score closer to 100 would indicate an overvalued company. Adding a sixth ratio, shareholder yield, we can view the Value Composite 2 score which is currently sitting at 67.
Watching some historical volatility numbers on shares of EDAP TMS S.A. (NasdaqGM:EDAP), we can see that the 12 month volatility is presently 38.972400. The 6 month volatility is 44.937500, and the 3 month is spotted at 54.320000. Following volatility data can help measure how much the stock price has fluctuated over the specified time period. Although past volatility action may help project future stock volatility, it may also be vastly different when taking into account other factors that may be driving price action during the measured time period.
EDAP TMS S.A. (NasdaqGM:EDAP) has a current ERP5 Rank of 12258. The ERP5 Rank may assist investors with spotting companies that are undervalued. This ranking uses four ratios. These ratios are Earnings Yield, ROIC, Price to Book, and 5 year average ROIC. When looking at the ERP5 ranking, it is generally considered the lower the value, the better.
We can now take a quick look at some historical stock price index data. EDAP TMS S.A. (NasdaqGM:EDAP) presently has a 10 month price index of 1.13402. The price index is calculated by dividing the current share price by the share price ten months ago. A ratio over one indicates an increase in share price over the period. A ratio lower than one shows that the price has decreased over that time period. Looking at some alternate time periods, the 12 month price index is 1.00610, the 24 month is 0.96210, and the 36 month is 0.59353. Narrowing in a bit closer, the 5 month price index is 1.05431, the 3 month is 1.28405, and the 1 month is currently 0.90161.

North American Bancard Holdings LLC completed its acquisition of Woodland Hills, Calif.-based Total Merchant Services Inc., NAB announced Tuesday.
The sale closed June 30, NAB spokeswoman Brooke Tajer told Crain's in an email.

A new drug-free way to treat depression and pain – Palm Beach Post
Posted: July 9, 2017 at 12:20 pm
Question: Are there any advances in treatment for medication-resistant depression?
Answer: In 2008, the FDA cleared the NeuroStar TMS brain-stimulating device for treating adults with treatment-resistant depression.
Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) or repetitive TMS (rTMS) is a non-invasive, non-drug medical therapy that delivers highly focused, MRI-strength magnetic pulses to stimulate nerve cells in a localized part of the brain. Research shows this can reverse changes in brain cell activity and brain chemicals that occur in depression and in other psychiatric and neurological disorders.
Clinical studies have shown some benefit for chronic pain conditions such as fibromyalgia, and for addictions, tinnitus and other disorders. Other studies have shown short-term improvement in some symptoms of Alzheimers disease, Parkinsons disease, and post-stroke speech disorders and paralysis. In Europe, TMS has received CE approval for Chronic Neuropathic Pain, among other conditions.
A typical TMS session lasts 30 to 60 minutes and does not require anesthesia. An electromagnetic coil with about the same strength as that of an MRI scan is held against the forehead near an area of the brain that is thought to be involved in mood regulation. Then, short electromagnetic pulses are administered through the coil. The magnetic pulse easily passes through the skull and causes small electrical currents that stimulate nerve cells in the targeted brain region. Because this type of pulse generally does not reach farther than 2 inches into the brain, we can select which parts of the brain will be affected and which will not.
TMS is a safe treatment and does not have the potential for side effects of medications such as sedation, constipation, weight gain and addiction problems. Some patients experience mild head pain when starting the treatment and there is a very small risk of causing a seizure. Patients with seizures, pacemakers, implants, strokes, or tumors would need to be treated with caution.
TMS is one of a new class of non-invasive brain treatments being developed for neurological disorders. Other non-invasive devices include Transcranial Direct Current Stimulation (tDCS) and Transcranial Focused Ultrasound. Both Neurostar TMS and tDCS are available at the Brainstim Brain Stimulation Center.

AscendTMS launches commission system for TMS Software – Fleet Owner
Posted: July 8, 2017 at 4:21 am
InMotion Global, Inc. announced that AscendTMS has released a new commission and branch split management system available for TMS software.
The new module is provided as an included feature of the Premium AscendTMS subscription. It allows carriers and freight brokers to setup and manage a variety of sales commission and branch split programs, along with full commission overrides on a load-by-load basis, the company noted.
Tim Higham, president and CEO of InMotion Global, Inc. said, Commissions and sales incentives are the life-blood of all successful carriers and freight brokers. So, we designed our new commissions system to let the sales team monitor their own successes in real-time. Any commissioned sales representative can see exactly what has been paid, what is owed, and what their future commissions are expected to be. Better still, sales managers dont need to be asked to run commission reports, the sales reps can do it themselves any time they wish.
Higham continued, Whether you have one sales person or one thousand, this new AscendTMS feature gives you a happier and more productive sales force, which translates into more revenue and more profit. Thats why AscendTMS is the fastest-growing TMS in the world today. Never again will sales reps question their commissions or their branch split. AscendTMS does everything and its perfectly accurate every single time.

It is important to remember that analyst projections are just that, projections. Following analyst expectations can provide a good glimpse into company actions, but strictly following what the analysts are saying may lead to difficulty in the future. Doing careful and extensive individual stock research may provide the investor with a more robust scope with which to successfully trade the market.
Another key indicator that can help investors determine if a stock might be a quality investment is the Return on Equity or ROE. Targeted Microwave Solutions Inc. (TMS.V) currently has Return on Equity of -124.73. ROE is a ratio that measures profits generated from the investments received from shareholders.
In other words, the ratio reveals how effective the firm is at turning shareholder investment into company profits. A company with high ROE typically reflects well on management and how well a company is run at a high level. A firm with a lower ROE might encourage potential investors to dig further to see why profits arent being generated from shareholder money.
Another ratio we can look at is the Return on Invested Capital or more commonly referred to as ROIC. Targeted Microwave Solutions Inc. (TMS.V) has a current ROIC of -108.54. ROIC is calculated by dividing Net Income Dividends by Total Capital Invested.
Similar to ROE, ROIC measures how effectively company management is using invested capital to generate company income. A high ROIC number typically reflects positively on company management while a low number typically reflects the opposite.
Turning to Return on Assets or ROA, Targeted Microwave Solutions Inc. (TMS.V) has a current ROA of -95.05. This is a profitability ratio that measures net income generated from total company assets during a given period. This ratio reveals how quick a company can turn its assets into profits. In other words, the ratio provides insight into the profitability of a firms assets. The ratio is calculated by dividing total net income by the average total assets.
A higher ROA compared to peers in the same industry, would suggest that company management is able to effectively generate profits from their assets. Similar to the other ratios, a lower number might raise red flags about managements ability when compared to other companies in a similar sector.
Investors are usually scouring the markets for that next great stock pick. Locating that special winner to jumpstart the portfolio may involve lots of diligent hard work. Filing through the massive amounts of data regarding public companies can be an overwhelming task. Many successful investors will approach the equity markets from various sides. This may include keeping a close eye on the fundamentals as well as the technical data. This may also include following sell-side analyst opinions and tracking what the big money institutions are buying or selling.

Rewiring the brain to treat depression – WRCB-TV
Posted: July 7, 2017 at 2:20 am
CHATTANOOGA, TN (WRCB) -
Each year American's spend billions on antidepressants, but studies show they can be ineffective in up to 40 percent of all patients. Bob Holmes was one of them.
Bob Holmes says "They tried to adjust my medication, but the medication had side effects that weren't desirable."
Holmes is among the 16-million people in the U.S. who suffer major depressive episodes each year. Thatnumberincreased 18-percent over the last decade, which is why some doctors are taking a different approach.
Doctors are beaming magnetic pulses deep inside patients' brains to change the way depression symptoms are perceived.
Dr. Andrew Leuchter, UCLA Health says, "We are used to thinking of the brain as a chemical organ, but, it's also an electrical organ."
Dr. Ian Cook, UCLA Medical says, "It's called Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation or T-M-S. It's currently F-D-A approved only to treat depression, but doctors say it may prove helpful in a wide range of conditions, by rewiring a network of signals in the brain."
Doctors tell us that T-M-S can feel a bit uncomfortable at first, but many patients quickly get used to it and report substantial relief from their symptoms of depression within a few weeks.
Dr. Leuchter says, "What TMS is doing is changing how thenetwork functions, really rebooting the network to improve symptoms of mood, anxiety, and chronic pain."
Which may be why many patients treated for depression also say it helps relieve their pain. Raising provocative questions about whether T-M-S could one day become a viable alternative to opioids.
Dr. Ian Cook says, "This is really a transformative kind of therapy, but in medicine there's always the wish to do better, to help more people than what we do now."
But for now, it's made a dramatic difference in Bob's depression.
Bob Holmes says, "It provided that kind of jolt to get my brain to start work again, normally."
