Could LIV Golf Tour Join The US Sports Betting Landscape? – Sports Handle
Posted: June 20, 2022 at 2:40 pm
Consumers can already bet on a birdie in every legal sports betting state and soon will be able to bet just steps off the fairway at a brick-and-mortar DraftKings sportsbook at TPC Scottsdale during the PGA Tours annual Waste Management Open.
Could there eventually be an opportunity at another golf course in Arizona? Or at a course in any sports betting state that hosts an LIV Tour event?
Given all the hubbub around the LIV Tour, we mulled the question of whether that tour could get into the legal sports betting game, if it sticks around long enough. The short answer is, Yep, it looks like the LIV Tour could potentially be licensed for sports betting. But read on to find out where, how, and how likely.
From the day Phil Mickelson announced hed participate in the controversial Saudi-backed LIV Golf tour, it has been in the news. The day the new tour teed off in London last week, the PGA Tour announcedsuspensions of the 17 players who agreed to play in rival LIV events. The list includes Mickelson, former world No. 1 Dustin Johnson, 2017 Masters winner Sergio Garcia, 2010 U.S. Open winner Graeme McDowell, and Lee Westwood, who has finished second or third in six majors. Of the 17 suspended players, 10 have resigned their PGA Tour memberships.
LIV events jump across the Atlantic for four dates in the U.S. beginning June 30 at Pumpkin Ridge in Oregon, followed by tournaments at Trump National in New Jersey (July 29), The International in Massachusetts (Sept. 4), and Rich Harvest Farms in Illinois (Sept. 16). The next two tournaments are in Thailand and Saudi Arabia before the tour wraps up its inaugural season at Trump National in Florida (Oct. 27).
Sportsbooks around the U.S. are taking bets on the tour, including DraftKings and PointsBet, both of which also have a relationship with the PGA Tour. Rush Street International also accepted wagers on the first LIV event in some North American jurisdictions, while BetMGM and FanDuel did not.
Suffice to say, this new tour is creating controversy in all sectors.
Since the LIV Tour teed off, its created a rift among pro golfers that heated up this week with PGA players calling out their now-LIV counterparts ahead of the U.S. Open:
The verbal sparring will likely only intensify as the LIV Tour preps for that first U.S. date, and with players from both tours mixing it up on the links at The Country Club in Brookline, Massachusetts, this week for the U.S. Open.
Of the LIVs five U.S. stops, wagering is legal in two Illinois and New Jersey. Could that present an opportunity for the tour to partner with a sportsbook? Its a possibility in Illinois, but not in New Jersey, which doesnt allow for on-site betting at professional sports venues.
Laws in Arizona, Illinois, Kansas, Maryland, Ohio, Virginia, and Washington, D.C., allow for wagering at professional sports venues or for professional franchises to have access to digital wagering licenses. In every case, the team or venue isnt directly involved in wagering, but rather partners with a sportsbook, which then offers betting. The venue serves merely as a point of access while a sports betting operator runs the sportsbook.
Of those seven, five currently offer live wagering, while regulators in Kansas plan to launch operators later this year and Ohio is set to do so on Jan. 1, 2023. For fun, we took a look at where the LIV Tour could, potentially, someday get a license, if it meets a states specifications:
The state allotted 10 licenses for professional sports franchises/facilities and so far has issued eight, including one each to TPC Scottsdale and Phoenix Raceway. TPC Scottsdale will partner with DraftKings through an agreement with the PGA Tour, and Barstool Sportsbook will be the operator at Phoenix Raceway. The state still has two licenses for professional sports franchises/facilities available, so if the tour meets the qualifications, why not try?
Verdict: Its possible. If the LIV Tour had a regular stop in Arizona, theres no reason it couldnt apply for a license.
Under current law, Illinois allows for wagering at sports venues that seat 17,000 or more, though Wintrust Arena (WNBA Chicago Sky) has a seating capacity of just over 10,000. An amendment to the sports betting law passed last year exempts Wintrust Arena from the 17,000 requirement and also includes this language: a facility that hosts sporting events and holds a seating capacity of greater than 17,000 persons except in a county with a population of more than 1,000,000.
So, what does that mean for the LIV Tour, should it make Rich Harvest Farms a permanent location? The tour could apply for a wagering license, as long as it could prove that it has seats for 17,000 fans (although many golf spectators stand or sprawl on the grass) and meets all of the other requirements for a pro venue to host wagering. Illinois does have a cap of seven licenses for pro venues, though no such licenses have been issued as yet.
Verdict: Its possible, but not probable. If Rich Harvest Farms becomes a permanent stop, can prove theres seating for the requisite number of butts in seats, and meets other qualifications, theres no reason not to apply.
According to state law, the four casinos in the state will hold wagering licenses, and each casino can then contract for up to three digital platforms. In essence, there will be four brick-and-mortar casino sportsbooks, and up to 12 digital platforms. Two professional sports entities, the MLS Sporting KC and Kansas Speedway, are named in the law as being able to make a deal with a casino for a digital platform. It seems unlikely that if the LIV Tour made Kansas a regular stop that it would then be able to offer wagering in the state, unless the law is amended. Wagering in Kansas isnt live yet.
Verdict: Unlikely. Its not a hard no, because the state does allow marketing partnerships with casinos, but there doesnt appear to be a clear pathway.
So far, no professional sports venues are offering digital wagering, but it is legal, and LIV Golf or the PGA Tour or NASCAR for that matter would seem to at least make the first cut in terms of qualifications. Maryland law allows for Class A-1 licenses, which would include retail and digital wagering. The Baltimore Ravens, Washington Commanders, and Baltimore Orioles, plus any future professional teams, can apply, according to the law. Neither the PGA Tour nor NASCAR appears to be in the mix, though the PGA Tour returned to Maryland this year after a more than 60-year hiatus with the Wells Fargo Championship in May. There is no NASCAR track in Maryland.
Verdict: Its possible. If the LIV Tour had a regular stop in Maryland, theres no reason it couldnt apply for a license.
The Ohio law leaves room for the possibility that a new professional sports franchise will move into the state. The law allows for 25 Type A licenses, which could be issued to any of the states existing casinos or professional sports teams, plus NASCAR tracks and PGA Tour stops.
By my count, there are currently 11 casinos and 11 professional sports venues, including the Pro Football Hall of Fame, the PGA Tour stop at Muirfield Village Golf Club, and NASCARs Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course. That leaves up to three Type A licenses still available, so if the LIV Tour were to find a home course in Ohio, it would appear it could apply, though according to the regulator, the LIV Tour does not currently meet the definition for a pro sports organization, so it would not get the preference such entities are entitled to. The law spells out that pro sports organizations are owners of NFL, NBA, NHL, or MLB teams or owners of sports facilities that annually host a PGA Tour or NASCAR event. Wagering is setto go live in Ohio on Jan. 1, 2023, and the application window opened Wednesday.
Verdict: Its possible. If the LIV Tour had a regular stop in Ohio, licenses are available.
Under Virginia law, some professional sports organizations are eligible to apply for sports betting operator licenses, but it doesnt appear that a golf tour PGA or LIV or any other is among them, The law defines a major league sports team as a professional baseball, basketball, football, hockey, or soccer team that is at the highest-level league of play for its respective sport. It also goes on to define what a motor sports facility is, but there is no mention of golf facilities anywhere in the law.
Verdict:No go. Virginia law tightly defines what pro venues could qualify, and golf isnt among them.
The law in the District allows for four Type A sports betting licenses, which in turn allow for mobile platforms. Operators must be tethered to a sports venue, and only four qualify under the law: Capital One Arena, Audi Field, Nationals Park, and St. Elizabeths East Entertainment and Sports Arena. In the current landscape, there would be no opportunity for the LIV Tour to apply for a license.
Verdict: Another no go. D.C. law names the four pro venues that can get sports betting licenses.

Detroit Tigers at Boston Red Sox odds, picks and predictions – USA TODAY Sportsbook Wire
Posted: at 2:40 pm
The Detroit Tigers (26-40) head to Fenway Park Monday to start a 3-game series with the Boston Red Sox (36-31) at 7:10 p.m. ET. Lets analyze Tipico Sportsbooks lines around the Tigers vs. Red Sox odds with MLB picks and predictions.
Detroit is 7-3 straight up (SU) in the last 10 games. The Tigers won back-to-back weekend games vs. the Texas Rangers to win their 3-game set.
Boston is 6-4 SU in the last 10, including 3 consecutive 2-1 series victories vs. the Seattle Mariners, Oakland Athletics and St. Louis Cardinals.
The Red Sox lead the season series against the Tigers 2-1 with a plus-2 run differential in those meetings.
RHP Alex Faedo vs. RHP Josh Winckowski
Faedo is 1-3 with a 4.28 ERA, 1.40 WHIP, 2.7 BB/9 and 7.4 K/9 in 40 IP over 8 starts.
Winckowski is 1-1 with a 4.50 ERA (8 IP, 4 ER), 10 H, 1 HR, 4 BB and 7 K in 2 starts vs. the Toronto Blue Jays and As.

Tigers 4, Red Sox 3
LEAN TIGERS (+155)because they have a slight edge in the pitching matchup, theres a line freeze in the betting market and this isnt a profitable spot for the Red Sox (-190). Detroits RL has better value but the Tigers cannot hit right-handed pitching.
The starting pitching matchup is a toss-up but Detroits bullpen is 5th in both FIP (3.34) and WAR (3.0) while Boston is 16th in FIP (3.93) and 18th in WAR (1.0), according to FanGraphs.
Also, nearly 90% of the cash is on the Red Sox but the line hasnt budged off the opener, per Pregame.com. This line freeze suggests that oddsmakers are confident in their pricing and are inviting more pro-Tigers action.
Finally, Boston is just 5-6 SU as home favorites of -150 or greater vs. right-handed starters with a minus-26.0% return on investment (ROI).
Its only aLEANto theTIGERS (+155)since their RL is going for a cheap price.

BETa third of a unit on the TIGERS +1.5 (-130)based on the previous analysis and the Red Sox -1.5 (+105) are 4-7 RL in the situation described above with a minus-24.1% ROI.
That said, Id go light on the TIGERS +1.5 (-130), if at all, since they are in the midst of another disappointing year and their lineup ranks last in BB/K rate, wOBA and wRC+ vs. right-handed pitching, per FanGraphs. Also, the Under 9.5 (-120) is my favorite wager in this game.
BETa half-unit on theUNDER 9.5 (-120)only because we are getting to the party late on the total. Tigers-Red Sox opened at a 10-run total but has been lowered to the current price.
However, Detroits lineup scores just 2.7 runs per 9 vs. right-handed starters and the Tigers are 16-29-2 O/U against righty starters with a plus-22.3% ROI toward the Under.

New York Yankees at Tampa Bay Rays odds, picks and predictions – Lancaster Eagle Gazette

The New York Yankees (49-17) and Tampa Bay Rays (36-30) tangle in a 3-game AL East series at Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg, Fla. Monday's opener is slated for a 7:10 p.m. ET first pitch. Let's analyze Tipico Sportsbook's lines around the Yankees vs. Raysodds with MLB picks and predictions.
Season series: New York leads their AL East rivals 5-2. The Yankees swept the Rays 3-0 last week at Yankee Stadium.
The Yankees spit the bit on a 6-2 lead and had a 9-game win streak snapped in Sunday's 10-9 loss at Toronto. During the 9-game run, N.Y. outscored foes 62-19. New York heads into this series ranked 1st in MLB in runs (1.15 per game) and runs allowed (2.98).
The Rays are back home after a 2-7 road trip. Including 2 of its 3 setbacks against the Yankees, 5 of Tampa Bay's 7 losses were of the 1-run variety.
RHP Gerrit Cole vs. LHP Shane McClanahan
Cole (6-1, 3.33 ERA) makes his 14th start. He has a 1.07 WHIP, 2.2 BB/9 and 11.2 K/9 in 73 IP.
McClanahan (7-3, 1.84 ERA) has notched a 0.86 WHIP, 1.7 BB/9 and 12.1 K/9 in 78 1/3 IP over 13 starts.

Yankees 4, Rays 2
Look for New York to bounce back after a sloppy Sunday game. But in this pitching matchup and Tampa having a rested bullpen, a Yankees price higher than -120 should be AVOIDED.
Win your fantasy baseball league with BaseballHQ.com. For decades, BHQ has been helping players just like you win! Use the couple code SBW22 for 20% OFF full-season subscription. New customer offer; expires 6/30/2022. Subscribe today and start winning!
The Yanks have allowed 7 or more runs 5 times this season. Their next-time-out contest has resulted in 5 wins with an average margin of victory of 3.0.
Consider a partial-unit play on NEW YORK -1.5 (+135).
The Yanks have some underlying statistics that point to fewer runs for the offense and more for the pitching and defense. The Rays counter with some offensive numbers that might figure as suspect.
New York hasn't banged the ball around Tropicana. The UNDER 6.5 (-115) IS A LEAN, but its perhaps just a low-scale wager unless the price were to dip to -110.

From Sportsbook To Good Book, Here’s What’s Happening This Weekend – SportsBetting.Legal
Posted: at 2:40 pm
Heading into the weekend, there are a couple of interesting developments in the sports world.
And no, we dont mean the Warriors fourth title in eight years. The Dubs are old news. Theyre good. We get it.
We also dont mean the 2022 US Open or how the wimpy PGA had immediate second thoughts about its blanket ban of LIV Golf participants since all those guys are playing in the PGA major right this very minute, LMAO.
No, the most compelling sporting event of the weekend that is, the most compelling sports betting event of the weekend is Game 2 of the 2022 Stanley Cup Finals on Saturday (8:00 PM EST, ABC).
The Tampa Bay Lightning are in their third straight championship series and are the two-time defending champs. A third title in three years would make the Lightning a winter sports team based in Florida of all places one of the most dominant NHL dynasties in history.
Of course, the Lightning are up against the Colorado Avalanche, who won five more games in the regular season and took Game 1 of the 2022 NHL Finals in overtime (4-3).
But given that this is hockey and of all the popular betting sports, given that hockeys the one where no series lead is truly safe you might do well to ignore the current consensus that has the Avalanche as mild favorites for Game 2 and heavy favorites to win it all.
If youre smart, youll take advantage of the hype around Colorado and go the other way. It seems almost inevitable that the Lightning will live up to their name and storm back and take Lord Stanleys Cup in the end.
Here are the current NHL Finals odds for Game 2, along with the series prices:
Via Bovada Sportsbook
Tampa Bay Lightning (+130) at Colorado Avalanche (-150)
In the late stages of the NHL Playoffs and particularly during the Stanley Cup Finals, home ice matters.
More than any other sport, high-level hockey seems to favor the home team, which is why so many series go seven games.
As a result, we still dont agree with the favorite for Game 2. Lightning to steal home ice advantage.
Via BetOnline Sportsbook
Lightning at +240 all day.
Lighting in six for +700.
Not this one.
This one.
Not this one.
Six games.
In other notable news albeit news thats probably irrelevant for bettors Indianapolis Colts starter Khari Willis (S) is retiring after just three seasons in the NFL to head up a new ministry.
Willis posted his decision on Instagram, with the statement reading in part:
With much prayer and deliberation, I have elected to officially retire from the NFL as I endeavor to devote the remainder of my life to the further advancement of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I thank all of my family, friends and those who have supported me on this journey thus far and I look forward to your continued support through the next phase of my life.
In retiring, Willis will save the Colts about $2.54 million against the 2022 salary cap.
Interestingly, this Willis base salary for the season is more money than hed made in his prior three years of NFL service combined.
As a fourth-round NFL Draft pick in 2019, Willis started 33 games for Indianapolis, tallied 219 tackles, hand four interceptions, and one INT returned for a touchdown. With those numbers, Willis was likely in line for a substantial salary boost coming off his rookie contract.
By most metrics, then, its hard to view Willis decision to walk away from the game albeit toward a much more important calling as a financially motivated one.
That said, depending on the scope of Willis future ministry, that may turn out not to be the case.
Now, its not totally clear exactly what Willis ministry plans are. Will he lead an existing church in his home state of Michigan? Will he open his own church in the Jackson area? Has he partnered with established community leaders? Will he be on TV? Is he doing something with Tim Tebow?
Ultimately, we just dont know yet.
And while there arent going to be any betting lines for Willis next chapter, the chapter is worth following for all those football fans and sports fans interested in the ultimate playbook.

Hard Rock Digital recently announced that it has tapped the services of performance branding firm WITHIN as its digital agency of record or AOR.
In a statement, Hard Rock Digital Chief Marketing Officer and Marketing Managing Director John Koller said:
Were excited to introduce Hard Rock Sportsbook to fans in multiple states across the country, and digital strategy will be key to our success and growth. Having the right partner is crucial in these incredibly competitive markets and we value the expertise and strategic vision of the WITHIN team.
The partnership is part of Hard Rock Digitals strategic plan to expand its U.S. blueprint. Hard Rock Digital will work with WITHIN to make sure that its business and marketing objectives are in line with campaigns across the different business channels.

New Orleans Breakers vs. Houston Gamblers odds, picks and predictions – USA TODAY Sportsbook Wire
Posted: at 2:40 pm
The final regular-season game of the 2022 USFL season has the playoff-bound New Orleans Breakers (6-3) facing thelast-place Houston Gamblers (2-7) Sunday. Kickoff is 8:30 p.m. ET (FS1) at Legion Field in Birmingham, Ala. Lets analyze Tipico Sportsbooks lines around the Breakers vs. Gamblers odds with USFL picks, predictions and bets.
The Breakers clinched a playoff spot last week with their 17-6 win over the Tampa Bay Bandits. They are 3-2 in divisional games this season and beat the Gamblers 23-16 in Week 4.
The Gamblers opened the season with a win and then dropped 7 games in a row before a 17-15 win over the Birmingham last week, giving the Stallions their first loss of the year.

Breakers
Gamblers
Gamblers 21, Breakers 19
The Breakers will be without Sloter, their starting quarterback who led the league in passing for most of the season.
The Gamblers, after handing the Stallions their first loss of the season last week, have allowed a combined 28 points in their last 2 games.
The Breakers have only scored 23 combined points in the last 2 weeks.
Without Sloter and with a playoff game next week, expect many starters to come out at some point in the game.
Im eyeing an upset. Take the GAMBLERS (+125).
While the Gamblers do have 7 losses, 3 have been by only 1 point.
The Breakers 6 wins were all by 4 points or more, but Sloter started every game for them until this week.
New Orleans is 6-3 ATS, matching their win-loss record, while the Gamblers are 4-5 ATS.
Expecting the upset, the money line is the better bet, but take the GAMBLERS +3 (-112).
The first game between the 2 teams finished with 39 points.
The Breakers had 6 games with totals of 40 or fewer points, including their last 2.
The Gamblers had 4 games with 40 or fewer points, including their last 2 games.
Take UNDER 40.5 (-105).

FC Cincinnati is the polar opposite. Theyve allowed 25 goals, tied for the 3rd-most in the East.
FCC has shockingly been better on the road, recording 4 wins in 8 away matches. Theyre led by F Brandon Vazquezwho has 7 goals on the season. Hes even caught the eye of USMNT head coach Gregg Berhalter.

Philadelphia Union 2, FC Cincinnati 0
PASS.
Philadelphia (-165) should come out on top I wouldnt bet on it due to the price tag. The value just isnt there considering FC Cincinnati has a few quality road wins over teams like Orlando City and Minnesota.
Philadelphia has home draws against Inter Miami and Charlotte. They have 4 home draws in 7 home matches, so Im not sold on the value here compared to the money line odds.
BET UNDER 2.5 (+100).
When you look at FC Cincinnatis scoring totals this season, it would suggest the over is a strong play. Theyve scored 21 goals and allowed 25 goals in just 14 games.
However, theyve played CF Montreal twice, both games ending with 7 combined goals. Against teams that have allowed under 20 goals, theyre 2-2 O/U.
The Union have one of the best defenses in the MLS.
Only NYCFC and Philly have allowed 10 or fewer goals. Theyve gone under 2.5 goals in 10 of their last 11 games, and they should be able to hold a dynamic FCC offense scoreless.

MyBookie Blackjack Review – Why You Should Play There – Gambling Sites
Posted: June 11, 2022 at 1:48 am
MyBookie is an online casino and sportsbook featuring hundreds of slot machines, table games, blackjack, and offers odds on just about any sport you can name (Sorry buzkash fans, maybe next year!).
While we have a MyBookie review for its overall performance, this review highlights its treatment of a game that many would consider the acid test of any casino: Blackjack.
To help you decide if MyBookie deserves to be your go-to online casino for all things blackjack-y (sorry, the batteries are dead on my thesaurus), Ill be looking at everything the gambler wants to know about it.
Well take an in-depth look at the various blackjack offering at MyBookie and the play, the betting options, the bonusespretty much everything youd expect from a MyBookie blackjack review.
Ill be rating each of the features and attributes of MyBookies blackjack offering with a score between one and five, with five being best and one being run away.
Blackjack Game Variety (Score: 5)
Blackjack is well-known for offering the house one of the thinnest edges of all banked games: less than half of 1% (dont worry, thats based on perfect play, which is not what most people do at the blackjack tablesor so Ive heard).
MyBookie offers a wide range of regular blackjack games and live dealer blackjack. The standard blackjack games are licensed by well-known gaming software developers like Arrows Edge and BetSoft, both well-known online game developers. The live dealer games are provided by Visionary iGaming.
Among the online versions are a few bubblegum-flavored blackjack gamesthe sort of gimmick games that attract attention and offer some additional excitement. They also give the house a better advantage. Some of these are jackpot blackjack, ultimate blackjack, and perfect pair blackjack.
But if youre looking to grind blackjack until its fine dust, plenty of standard single and multi-deck games are among the offerings.
Regardless of your preferences, MyBookie has them all, most of which offer free-play versions if you want to familiarize yourself with the rules and the gameplay without risking your bankroll.
Heres a run-down of the differences between their various versions of blackjack.
American Blackjack
If youre a gringo, this is the version of blackjack you are most familiar with and maybe the only one you knew existed.
The player is dealt two cards face up, while the dealer (representing the house) is dealt one card up and one card down.
If the dealers up card is an ace, the game pauses as each player is offered the opportunity to buy insurance that the dealer does not have 21 (an ace, worth 11) and a face card (ten through king, worth 10).
If the dealers hole card does, in fact, give him a blackjack, the hand is over. Nobody wins, although players who also have blackjacks are given their initial wagers back (a push).
If youve played this version of blackjack before, youll have no problem using the basic blackjack strategy to play this game on MyBookie successfully.
European Blackjack
So similar at first glance that it is easily confused with American blackjack, European blackjack does not reveal the dealers hole card until all other play is finished.
MyBookie offers a multi-hand, a 6-deck variant that provides the usual 3:2 blackjack payout, insurance, and dealer stands on 17 and hits anything less.
The minimum bet here is $1, with a maximum bet of $100. Late surrender is not permitted.
Incidentally, the deck is shuffled after every hand.
Multihand Blackjack (Both American and European Versions)
The house edge here gets a healthy boost with the added distraction of multiple hands, which require faster thinking, ideally resulting (ideal for the house, that is) in less well-considered choices.
Single Deck Blackjack
Players who know blackjack strategy love single-deck blackjack, which offers the house a microscopic 0.15% edge.
A solid understanding of blackjack strategy coupled with the enormously better chances of keeping track of the cards already dealt (none dare call it counting) gives the player the best of all possible worlds.
Perfect Pairs Blackjack
This otherwise vanilla blackjack game (multi-deck) offers a side bet based on whether you think your first two cards will be a pair. Payout is for a perfect pair (suited pair), a colored pair (the paired cards are of the same color), and a red-black pair.
Jackpot Blackjack
This multi-deck blackjack game features a hot-drop progressive jackpot that randomly triggers after the progressive has reached $5,000. While betting higher amounts on your hands increases your chances of hitting the progressive, the trigger is random.
Ultimate Blackjack
This version of the game is for those who prefer their multideck blackjack with a side of poker and maybe a dash of rummy.
Let me explain. In addition to wagering and playing the game as in regular blackjack, the player can also place several side wagers based on his first two cards and the dealers first two cards.
One option is the poker side wager, paying on suited three of a kind, straight flushes, three of a kind, straights, and flushes.
The other side wager option is Pairseither for your hand or the dealers. This also involves your first two cardsor the dealers first two cardsand pays on the perfect pair (suited pair), colored pair (both cards of the same value are the same color), and red-black pair.
Blackjack Tournament
If you were concerned about there being such a thing as a MyBookie blackjack tournament, your worries are over.
On the other hand, if youve never heard of such a thing, heres the skinny: Tournament blackjack pits you against other players rather than the house. You pay an entry fee and sit at the blackjack table.
Theres still a dealer, however. And play continues as you would typically expect at a blackjack table, with your primary job being to beat that dealer.
Your chip pile is what puts you on the tourney leaderboard, however, and you will soon find yourself making choices you might not make during a regular blackjack session. Your goal is to outlast everyone else at the table.
For a better idea of how to make that happen, be sure to read our handy blackjack tournament guide.
21 Burn Blackjack
This blackjack variant offers the player the intriguing opportunity to burn (discard) the second card dealt and replace it with a new card. The player pays a burn bet equal to half his initial wager to exercise this option. A blackjack in 21 Burn Blackjack pays even money (sad emoji).
Pontoon Blackjack
This is a misnomer because while pontoon shares some similarities with blackjack, it has many significant rules that counter everything youve learned about blackjack.
Sure, the fact that getting a score of 21 with your first two cards is a pontoon rather than a blackjack isnt a shock or a surprise.
Both dealers cards being dealt face down are different and perhaps a bit concerning.
Important
Oh, and theres no such thing as a pushif your hand is equal to the dealers hand, you lose.
On the other hand, you can double down nearly as often as rabbits fall in and out of love. In fact, doubling downeven on three or more cardsis a major feature of the pontoon.
Pirate 21 Blackjack
Played like regular blackjack, pirate 21 blackjack is unique in that it uses the Spanish 48-card deck rather than the more universal French deck of 52 cards. Whats missing in the Spanish deck, you ask? The tens, of course. Sure, the jack, the queen, and the king are still there, but the ten-spot cards are missing.
This alters the odds of getting a blackjack since there are only 16 cards per deck to pair with an ace to score a blackjack. On the other hand, there are fewer cards to bust your hand.
Live Blackjack
As you would expect, MyBookie is one of the live online casinos that offers Live Dealer Blackjack.
The game offers multiple tables of play at three wagering levels: Bronze, Silver. and Gold.
The live dealer action allows players to play both the European and American style blackjack games. Added to those casino staples is the newest variant: Blackjack Early Payout (BJEP was designed and patented by Visionary), which takes the surrender feature to new levels.
BJEP permits early payouts on a players hand determined by the likelihood of winning the hand. That likelihood is based o the players cards and the dealers single-up card. Unlike a surrender, which only returns half the original wager, an early payout can be greater than the original amount of the players bet.
Banking (Score: 4)
MyBookie handles deposits and withdrawals professionally and provides a multitude of payment options, including BitCoin, BitCoin Cash, Visa, Mastercard, Person 2 Person, and litecoin.
There are fewer options on withdrawalsBitcoin or wire transfer. While reports say the system is easy to understand and use, some reports say withdrawals are sometimes a bit slow.
Please Note
Withdrawals may be made once a week (per withdrawal method), and MyBookie accepts these requests seven days a week.
MyBookie itself recommends players request withdrawals via BitCoin, which they say results in a review time (for verification) of two days, a delivery time of one day, and the processing is free.
As with all online casinos and sportsbooks, MyBookie expects players to fulfill any rollover obligations before requesting a withdrawal. Be sure to read all of MyBookies terms & conditions and its policies and procedures.

Security and Licensing (Score: 5)
MyBookie has been a fixture of the online gambling world since 2014. It is licensed and regulated by Curaao, a tiny island nation that is one of the more active licensers of online casinos and sportsbooks.
All play on MyBookie is in US dollars, although other currencies can be converted on site. Those wishing to use different currencies may want to handle the conversion themselves rather than accept MyBookies conversion rate.
All data that moves between the player and MyBookie.ag is via SSL (secure sockets layer, for those who care)a very high level of encryption.
Mobile Access (Score: 2.5)
Unlike some online casinos and sportsbooks, MyBookie does not require a special app to be downloaded to play.
Instead, it functions entirely in the browser (Chrome, MS Edge, Opera, Firefox, etc.). On mobile platforms like Androids and iPhones, it simply resizes its screens to fit the smaller screen of your phone.
This may work for some games, such as slot machines, but the resulting visual is too small for some to read clearly for a game like a blackjack. The game itself plays well, but it can be pretty challenging to drag a $1 chip the size of a mosquito across the screen with your index finger to place a bet.
This is my least favorite attribute of MyBookie. As the HR people like to euphemize, it is MyBookies biggest area of opportunity. You can always check out more viable options with a look at our best blackjack mobile apps.
Bonuses and MyBookies Rollover Requirements (Score: 4)
No MyBookie online blackjack review would be complete without a look at the operations various bonus offers and its rollover requirements.
The bonuses offered by MyBookie range from fair-to-middlin right up to quite generous. They include seasonal promo codes, sign-up bonuses, reload, and referral bonuses. These can add hundreds (sometimes thousands) of dollars in play to your account.
Of course, to earn that bonus play, the player must roll over the deposit and bonus amount several times.
MyBookies terms and requirements for rollover are consistent with the competitionand are a bit more liberal in some areas.
For Instance
For the sake of comparison, In comparison, MyBookie gives the player 100% credit for rollover on most of its slot games.
One caveat: MyBookie separates its bonus rollover requirements between the sportsbook and the casino. If you get a sign-up, welcome, or reload bonus from one side (e.g., the sportsbook), playing in the casino does not count for the sportsbook rollover. And vice-versa: Casino bonus rollover does not accrue through wagers in the sportsbook.
I dont see this as particularly worrisome, but separation could lead to misunderstandings if you arent aware of it.
Should You Make MyBookie Your Go-To Place for Blackjack?
Without a doubt, MyBookie is well worth adding to your portfolio of solid and trustworthy online casinos.
Its on our list of legitimate online casinos and is regularly ranked among the top online casinos by many independent reviewers.
I give MyBookie an overall grade of 4.1 out of 5, with what I consider its most important featurea variety of blackjack games offeredearning a solid 5.
Frankly, the sites only weakness is the mobile versionand if you dont usually play blackjack on your mobile phone, the low Mobile Access score shouldnt affect your decision to make MyBookie a regular stop.
Ready to play some blackjack? First check out this breakdown that reminds us all that the game isnt just about pure luck.
Even though the answer to the question Is blackjack skill or luck? seems obvious, it really isnt. Think of it this way: Anything you must study to make correct decisions during play is a skill game. But that would make 52-card pick-up a...

Which Sportsbooks Will Launch When Ohio Sports Betting Goes Live? – Bookies.com
Posted: at 1:00 am
It was surely a disappointment for Ohio sports betting fans to learn that legal sports wagering in the Buckeye State would not begin in time for the start of the 2022 football season. But there was also a silver lining within that newswhen Ohio sports betting does launch, it promises to do so in a very big way.
The extended run-up to the announced universal start date of Jan. 1, 2023the deadline by which the states new sports betting law must be enactedmeans that Ohio betting apps will begin taking bets on a New Years weekend loaded with major events. It also provides time for more online sportsbook operators to receive licenses from the state, promising bettors a wider range of options than some other states have seen on their launch days.
With nearly 12 million residents, Americas seventh-most-populous state promises to be a major U.S. sports betting market, and lots of sportsbook operators will want a piece of the action.
Thank you for signing up!
You've got mail. Check your inbox!
Sports betting was legalized in Ohio in December of 2021, after Gov. Mike DeWine signed a bill that had been haggled over for three years in the state legislature. The law splits sports betting licenses into three classes, and allows for 25 of the top (or Type A) class that will be reserved for casinos or professional sports teams.
Each casino or sports team can partner with online sportsbooks operating up to two skins, industry parlance for a betting site like DraftKings Ohio and its associated mobile app.
So theres lots of room in the Ohio market for online platforms, promising bettors a bevy of alternatives.
At the moment, we expect the following sportsbooks to launch in Ohio (based on existing retail casino partnerships):
All the above are on track to launch in Ohio at this stage, with others sure to follow in the seven months before legal wagering in the state kicks off.
Compare that variety of options to sports betting in New York, which launched in a piecemeal fashion in January, with just four licensed sportsbooks on its launch day. Ohios launch day indeed promises to be a big onenot only is it an NFL Sunday (the next-to-last week of the regular season), but four big college bowl games (the Rose, Cotton, Citrus and Tampa Bay, formerly the Outback) are set for the following day.
The Ohio Casino Control Commission is accepting license applications in two windows spanning mid-June through mid-August, but some sportsbooks are already putting down Ohio roots.
Caesars Sportsbook Ohio announced in February that it would build a betting facility inside the Cleveland Cavaliers home arena, with a planned opening by the end of 2022. Likewise, Bally's Interactive (parent company of Bally Bet) announced plans in April for a branded lounge inside the stadium of the Cleveland Browns.
The launch of legal sports betting in a new state also means lots of promotional opportunities for bettors to take advantage of, many of them available through the use of promo codes.
These promos provide bettors with bonuses such as a deposit match or a risk-free bet, and the codes that activate them can regularly be found here at Bookies.com.
Because Ohio is still months away from launch, were not certain yet which Ohio promo codes will be available from which sportsbooks in the Buckeye State. But looking at past launches in other states provides a hint. In New York, for example, FanDuel Sportsbook offered new bettors in the Empire State $200 in free bets with an initial $5 wager, while DraftKings Sportsbook offered users a 20% deposit match up to $1,000. You may see something similar when DraftKings Ohio and FanDuel Ohio announce their launch plans later this year.
Caesars Sportsbook offered a risk-free bet up to $5,000, and BetMGM a risk-free bet up to $1,000. WynnBet offered $200 in free bets with a $50 wager, while BetRivers offered $250 in free bets with a $250 deposit.
Other hints come from national promos like that presented by Unibet, which is offering a $250 risk-free bet with a promo code. Keep checking Bookies.com for the latest on promo codes related to Ohios launch on Jan. 1, 2023.

Why Derrick Henry isn’t getting the proper respect from one sportsbook – AtoZ Sports
Posted: at 1:00 am
";} else{document.querySelector('#emp-6f2dc').innerHTML = "";}
There has been much debate throughout the course of the offseason over who the best running back in the NFL is. It wasnt until a Jones fracture sidelined Titans RB Derrick Henry for the final nine games of the 2021 season before Colts RB Jonathan Taylor entered the conversation.
BetMGM released its odds on who will finish the 2022 regular season with the most rushing yards. The list goes as follows:
Henry/Taylor +600
Dalvin Cook + 900
Nick Chubb/Elijah Mitchell/Joe Mixon +1400
Anthony Gibson + 1600
Najee Harris/Javonte Williams/Cam Akers +2000
Though Taylor took the rushing throne last season, Henry had a substantial lead at the time of his injury. Henry was on pace to secure his third-straight rushing title, showing no signs of slowing down before the fluke injury.
Taylor has received tons of buzz after finishing 2021 with 332 carries for 1,811 rushing yards and 18 touchdowns. It was more than enough for the Colts back to receive All-Pro honors in just his second season.
Whenever King Henrys reign comes to an end, the torch will be passed to Taylor. But will that time come in 2022? Im not so sure.
Henry returned to action in the Titans AFC Divisional Round loss to the Cincinnati Bengals. While he did not look like the dominant player fans have become accustomed to seeing on Sundays, it was a promising sign that his unique injury wouldnt develop into a long-term issue.
Not only did Henry win back-to-back rushing crowns in 2019-2020, but his usage rate was also tops in the league. The Titans phenom eclipsed 300 carries in each of those seasons and showed no signs of slowing down, improving as the season went along.
Titans offensive coordinator Todd Downing might opt to keep Henry on a leash early in the season. But with Tennessees offensive identity centered around running the football, Henry will undoubtedly get his touches.
Henry and Taylor both provide tons of value in the betting market with 6/1 odds. However, if I had to decide between the two Im sticking with Henry. When healthy, he has been nothing short of the games best running back and was threatening to top 2,000 yards in back-to-back seasons before going down last year.
To be the best, youve got to beat the best when hes healthy. The AFC South could very well be decided by which running back find the most success in 2022. Taylors time will come, but at 28 years old, I believe Henry still has a lot left in his tank.
