Soft Launch of Online Sports Betting, Gaming in CT to Begin Tomorrow – NBC Connecticut
Posted: October 15, 2021 at 8:57 pm
A seven-day soft launch of online sports betting and gaming in Connecticut will start tomorrow.
The Department of Consumer Protection said Friday that the Connecticut Lottery Corporation, Mohegan Tribe and Mashantucket Pequot Tribe could begin a soft launch Tuesday for online wagering programs. Once the soft launch is complete, online gaming can open statewide.
There will be some restrictions during the soft launch period and the Connecticut Lottery Corporation has different parameters than the tribes do.
They will offer online sports wagering within the state only, limited to 750 people through the online platform. Customers will only be allowed to make bets during certain times of the day during this soft launch -- 3 p.m. to 11 p.m. on Tuesday and Wednesday, noon to 11:59 p.m. on Thursday and Friday, then running on a 24-hour cycle through the rest of the soft launch period.
The tribes will be allowed to launch online sports betting within the state, online casino gaming, limited to the games approved by DCP for the soft launch.
This does include more than 100 games, according to DCP. The soft launch will not include live dealer or peer-to-peer online casino games, and will be limited to wagering by 750 customers. They will follow the same hour limitations as the CT Lottery.
FanDuel, DraftKings and Rush Street Interactive, which have contracted with the tribes and CT Lottery, are allowed to start establishing customer accounts for the 750 individuals who will take part in the soft launch.
The rollout of statewide retail and online sports betting was originally planned for Thursday, Oct. 7, but state officials announced Wednesday that there would be a delay.
Foxwoods and Mohegan Sun opened their sportsbooks Thursday as legalized sports betting began in Connecticut.
Sports betting have already begun at Foxwoods Resort Casino and Mohegan Sun last week. The Mashantucket Pequot Tribe is working with Draft Kings while the Mohegan Tribal Nation chose FanDuel to operate its sports betting.

The sports book at the Westgate Hotel in Las Vegas.
Westgate Hotel
LAS VEGAS Legal sports betting is experiencing a boom unlike any other time in history and Las Vegas, as always, is an epicenter. With that in mind, the CJ Cup being played at the exclusive Summit in Las Vegasthe second straight week of PGA Tour golf in the city that glittersseemed like the perfect time to secure some insights from players about sports betting, golf specifically.
The answers from Dustin Johnson, Collin Morikawa and Jason Kokrak came a bit hesitantly. The consensus was that none of them spent any time looking at the odds prior to a tournament, but that legalized wagering on golf would bring more fans to the sport.
Their hesitancy to openly discuss the issue probably stemmed from the long-standing feelings of PGA Tour executives and other major sports league leaders of not wanting anything to do with gambling. Habits are difficult to break sometimes.
In 2021, each major sports league has agreements with featured betting partners, including the PGA Tour with FanDuel, BetMGM and PointsBet. Kokrak even showed up to his press conference wearing a hat with the BetMGM logo on the front.
What are the odds of that?
Regarding the players not paying attention to the betting odds, I have to assume that with all of the social media and other news available, they must see the numbers. And they must have an opinion on the odds when they do catch a glimpse, even if they keep those opinions to themselves.
As I wrote this, Golf Today hosts Damon Hack and Shane Bacon were discussing CJ Cup odds during an extended segment. Most likely there will come a day when players discuss the odds more openly, but we are still in the infancy of this new era.
As of Thursday morning, Dustin Johnson (+1000) is the favorite at the SI SportsBook, followed by Collin Morikawa at +1100 and Justin Thomas and Xander Schauffele at +1400.
Jason Kokrak, the defending champ, is +5000 and my guess is that if he saw those odds, he would feel a bit disrespected.
Sports and golf betting is everywhere and it is here to stay. And that is OK.
I think that (golf betting) is driving a different market and I think you'll see a different group of people coming out to the golf course to either cheer or not cheer or root against people, so it's interesting, Kokrak said. I think you'll see more and more of that going on as more states open up and allow online betting or whatever. It's going to be interesting going down this road, but I think it's good for golf.
Johnson agreed with Kokrak and also said he doesnt follow the golf odds.
Obviously, I don't really follow golf betting, but other sports, maybe, Johnson said. Obviously, I think its good for the game, just because it brings a lot more people who are going to be interested in it. I don't see anything wrong with it.
Morikawa is a Summit Club member and has been a Las Vegas resident for about three years, so he has a first-hand view of the sports-betting evolution.
I don't think we care about our odds at all and I think if you ask any athlete, they don't care about their odds, either, Morikawa said. But is sports betting good for the world? Absolutely. I think it brings a different type of audience, a different type of people into golf and that's what we need. We need golf to be on a bigger worldwide stage every single day because that is how we want to grow our sport.
I think it's great for the game as long as it's respectful. We play in a different type of arena, per se. We're not in a stadium where you can make as much noise. I mean, we're still playing a respectful game and you have to respect us when we're hitting, so we'll see how that kind of plays out. But I think for the most part, it's going to be great because you're going to see a different crowd of fans. And that's what we've seen. When we go to new locations, you see a different kind of population and people, which is great for the game itself.

Competition in online sports betting is fierce and not profitable – Axios
Posted: at 8:57 pm
The growth potential in the nascent market for American sports betting is huge. But for now, operators are still losing money a lot of it.
The big picture: Sports betting is taking a page from the playbook of tech giants like Netflix, Amazon and Twitter, sacrificing profitability in the early days in the hope of ingraining themselves in customers lives.
Even if youre not a sports fan, youve probably seen or heard the deluge of ads from online sports betting companies offering major financial incentives to use their apps.
What we're watching: This NFL season will go a long way in determining which companies live to fight another day in the ultra-competitive sports betting arena.
Where it stands: The Supreme Court only opened the door to widespread legal, online sports betting in 2018, and the sector is still in its infancy.
State of play: The weekly fantasy sports operators FanDuel and DraftKings have taken the lead with market shares of 33% and 19% respectively, in the first half of 2021, the Wells report says.
Those companies are shoveling money into marketing and promotions, sometimes including hundreds of dollars of free bets.
What's next: The operators are chasing a market that has massive growth potential Politzer estimates annual U.S. sports betting revenue could grow to $11.3 billion in 2025, compared to $3.8 billion estimated this year.
Yes, but: Analysts think consolidation is ultimately the most likely endgame, with 3 to 4 players all but dominating the field.
There's a Catch-22 for sports books: Making too little money is obviously bad for business, but if they start making too much money it may attract the attention of regulators.
The big question: Whether regulators become concerned about the gamification of the old in-person betting process too easy, too fun, too instantaneous similar to the scrutiny that Robinhood's received for gamifying stock trading.

Sports gambling on the rise in Indiana, data shows – CBS 4 Indianapolis

INDIANAPOLIS State data shows sports betting is on the rise in Indiana.
In the midst of football season, big wins in Indiana dont just happen on the field. Theyre also found at businesses like Winners Circle in downtown Indianapolis, where Hoosiers are gambling on this weeks games.
I found out that the game really doesnt mean anything unless youve got a little bit on it, said Rick Stahl, who lives in Indianapolis. Its a little bit exciting.
At Winners Circle, sports betting has become at least half of the business, according to general manager Jarrod Rogers.
In September, Winners Circle saw a 25% increase in sports betting wagers compared to September 2020, Rogers said.
The restrictions for COVID have lessened some, and so were able to operate at a fuller capacity, Rogers said. We also have more kiosks up and going. We have more ticket writers up and going.
Data from the Indiana Gaming Commission shows some of the statewide gains in sports gambling.
September 2021 saw a 3% increase in in-person wagers and an 85% increase in wagers placed online compared to the same month last year.
For that same time frame, gross receipts, or the amount of money exchanged between customers and sportsbook operators, grew 65% for brick-and-mortar operations and 265% online.
Sports wagering tax revenue collected by the state more than doubled, with a 137% increase, year-over-year for the month of September.
Its exploded, said Jimmy Allen, Indiana area manager for Caesars Sportsbook. We went live two years ago with it. And everybody kind of was jumping in and getting their feet wet. And then the mobile apps started to hit.
Sports gaming businesses have spent a lot of time and effort and money to try to market themselves to consumers, so I think theres probably a growing consumer awareness, said Nathaniel Grow, associate professor of business law and ethics for the IU Kelley School of Business.
Grow said he expects the rise in sports betting to continue, especially online.
Given the pandemic and given the ease of just firing up an app on your cell phone and placing a bet, I think thats probably where the bulk of the future growth is, he said.
According to state officials, 75% of the tax collected from sports gambling goes to the states general fund, and the other 25% goes toward prevention and treatment of compulsive gambling.
If you or someone you know struggles with compulsive gambling, resources can be found here.

NHL Intrigued By Data Revolution In Canadas First Year Of Single-Game Wagering – Sports Handle
Posted: at 8:57 pm
Tune into an NHL game this week on Turner Sports and there is a strong chance you will notice a host of new graphic enhancements, as the network attempts to make a splash in the first season of a seven-year broadcast partnership with the league.
The new integrations include the display of player-and-puck tracking data, a plethora of high-speed camera feeds, and a virtual power-play clock embedded into the ice, similar to a feature TNT implemented for NBA games with a running shot clock displayed on the court. Ahead of Wednesdays NHL debut on Turner Sports, DraftKings inked a partnership with the NHL to become an official sports betting partner with the league. Under the deal, DraftKings reached an agreement withTurner Sports, including Bleacher Report, to be the exclusive sportsbook and daily fantasy sports provider for their coverage of the NHL.
Over the years, DraftKings has become a brand synonymous with sports, with a fan-first approach through real-money gaming options, and we look forward to collaborating with the NHL alongside Turner Sports and Bleacher Report to provide hockey fans with whats next in sports, said Jason Robins, DraftKings CEO, chairman, and co-founder, in a statement.
The start of the NHL season represents a watershed moment for legalized sports betting in Canada. For the first time since the Canadian parliament decriminalized single-event sports betting in June, Canadians will be able to wager on single-game NHL hockey on the legal market. While Windsor, Nova Scotia, is commonly referred to as the birthplace of hockey, after evolving from the game of ice hurley, it is widely accepted that the first organized indoor hockey game took place on March 3, 1875, in Montreal.
In April, the NHL signed a multi-year broadcast deal with Turner Sports at a reported cost of $225 million per year. The deal complements a previous-announced multi-year agreement with ESPN at a reported of figure of $400 million annually.
While Canadians have been able to legally bet on parlays for decades dating back to 1985, the bet types have only been available in limited form through the nations provincial lotteries. With a low probability for a successful outcome, parlays carry high amounts of risk.
A straight moneyline wager in Fridays Vancouver Canucks-Philadelphia Flyers matchup will pay +125 on a Canucks win (a $125 payout on a $100 wager). But if you plan on stringing several wagers together in a six-leg parlay, the probability of hitting the wager is considerably lower typically around just 2.75%. The newfound opportunity to wager on single-game bets is expected to open the market to thousands of recreational bettors.
Youve had parlay betting for a long time. Thats a big differentiator between what was happening in the states and in Canada. Now, youre just flipping the switch, NHL Chief Business Officer Keith Wachtel told Sports Handle at last weeks Global Gaming Expo in Las Vegas.
From an advertising standpoint, Wachtel noted that the NHL is not placing a cap on the number of sports betting-related commercials a network can air during a given telecast. At the start of the regular season, the NFL placed a limitation of six sports betting commercials per broadcast, placing a premium on a networks sports betting ad inventory. At the moment, most of the NHLs broadcast partners are not accepting national advertising on sports betting, he added.
Wachtel also indicated that a network partner such as ESPN could have the ability to offer a second-screen, gambling-focused alternative broadcast with approval from the league. The alt broadcast draws some parallels to a second-screen format ESPN offered last month during the Monday Night Football season debut, which featured live on-screen, in-game odds.
We think it is great what the Manning Brothers are doing for Monday Night Football on ESPN 2. What what we want to do is make sure fans have flexibility, he said. There will be some fans that dont want any interaction with sports betting, they dont want to have their screen with odds the whole game. There will also be fans who will love it. We want to provide those fans with more and more data.
Much like PointsBets integrations into NHL broadcasts on NBC Sports, the league has guidelines for how its new broadcast partners will implement sports betting into a national broadcast. At a minimum, a sportsbook operator must become an official sports betting partner of the league before a network will receive clearance to integrate their odds into a telecast. The guidelines will be specific to what ESPN, Turner Sports, and Rogers Sports & Media plan to offer from a sports betting standpoint.
Last season, the Montreal Canadiens made a surprising run to the Stanley Cup Finals, the teams first trip to the championship round since 1993. It also marked the first time a team from Canada had made the Stanley Cup Finals since the Canucks in 2011.

How to Get the Best Sports Betting Offers in 2021 – FlurrySports
Posted: at 8:57 pm
Sports teams and athletes win and lose all the time. Regardless, sports bettors have a chance to make money either way. The goal is to find factors that can help you predict teams likely to win and bet on them.
Sometimes you dont need to know which team will win. You can pick a football player to score. Or you could bet on a coach to get fired. Here, well help you find the best free bets and bonuses so that you can maximize your profits and minimize your risks.
No deposit bonuses are some of the best offers you can get as a sports punter. The good thing is that everyone can qualify for these rewards. All you need is to find a bookie that gives out these free bets to players in your country.
In the US, sports betting is regulated by states. As such, you want to find a betting website licensed or allowed in your state. New Jersey, Pennsylvania and a host of other states permit mobile betting.
But some statesMississippi, Utah and Hawaiido not allow mobile betting. In that case, your only option is to bet in-person or to use offshore sportsbooks. All the same, most bookmakers in and out of the US offer no deposit freebies.
Usually, you need to create a free account to qualify for a no deposit bonus. Then you receive a free bet to wager on your favorite sport. Choose bonuses that allow you to withdraw money won from a free bet.
In many cases, the best bonuses come from renowned betting companies. An example is Pirateplaycasino.com. Its armed with 3000+ slots and table games from leading developers: NetEnt, BTG and Playn GO.
Its a crypto-focused betting site that allows you to deposit, play and cash out your profits through Bitcoin. Its also generous with bonuses, from welcome free spins to loyalty bonuses. Out there, you can find loads of trusted casinos with free offers.
The reason to claim bonuses from leading betting platforms is that you get a comprehensive deal. First, you can benefit from free spins or a sports free bet. Additionally, your security, payments, and presence are valued.
Want to get a sports betting bonus fast? Make your first deposit at a bookie with freebies. You see, a bonus isnt exactly free money. Its a free bet with rules. One of the rules bookmakers like is to require a deposit before giving out a bonus.
How much are you required to deposit? It depends on the sportsbook. The minimum you can deposit at most betting sites is $10. In exchange, you can receive an equal amount, double or triple the amount.
British bookies tend to offer up to $50 when you deposit and spend $10. In the US, sportsbooks prefer to give out 100% match bonuses. If you deposit $100, you receive an extra $100.
In case youre wondering, theres a cap on the maximum bonus you can claim. Thats alrightthe goal is to find a bookie that lets you maximize your first deposit with a generous bonus.
If youre like many gamblers, your goal isnt to find one great bonus. Your aim is to qualify for many, regular bonuses. In that case, take time to find a bookmaker with numerous promotions:
When you have access to multiple promotions, you dont need a big betting budget. You can leverage free bets to increase your profits without betting big. And if you lose, you dont need to feel frustrated because you didnt lose your own money.
Choosing a betting bonus can be challenging. But guess what? You dont need to persevere the entire process of analyzing a website to determine whether its safe. You can leave out the heavy lifting to a bonus comparison site.
All you need is to compare bonus sizes on a review site and claim whichever bonus pleases you the most. Of course, you want to check bonus recommendations on trustworthy sites. That way, you dont risk claiming a bonus thats not fully safe.
The beauty of bonus comparison sites is that they help you find more than a bonus. They can also link you to a fast-payout bookmakerif your desire is to find a platform that processes money quickly. Or they can help you find a reliable iOS betting app without spending so much time in the process.
As we mentioned earlier, many betting bonuses come with rules. The rules can be as simple as saying you need to use your free bet on an NBA game. They can also be challengingyou need to play through your bonus amount 2x, 5x or 10x.
The basis of reading a bonus fine print is to understand all the rules you must follow to qualify for a bonus. Another reason is to compare free bets based on the conditions. Logically, you want to pick bonuses with the least demanding terms.
To expound more, look at terms that favor you. For example, you want a generous bonus amount. You also want a bonus with a decent withdrawal limit. However, the wagering requirements need to be few. And the validity period for a bonus should be lenient.
Sports betting is a young industry in the US. In many states, new mobile sportsbooks are cropping up. These companies need customers and theyre in a competition to control the largest market share.
Needless to say, new betting sites cant succeed without giving out bonuses. So, shop around for newly launched bookies with free bets. Ensure you can legally bet on these platforms before you make your first deposit.
Otherwise, you can deposit money only to lose it because a bookmaker doesnt accept players from your state. Again, you want to read all the rules to ensure the bonus gives you great value.

ESPN and Fox bet on sports wagering. But will they go all in? – Tampa Bay Times
Posted: at 8:57 pm
Television sports used to acknowledge betting on games with a wink and a nod. Veteran sportscaster Brent Musburger was known for using the term my guys in the desert a reference to Las Vegas gamblers signaling to viewers that wagering information was coming.
According to Musburgers nephew Brian Musburger, chief executive of Las Vegas-based betting channel Vegas Stats & Information Network (VSiN), the broadcasters signature line youre looking live was a way to tell viewers to observe the weather conditions in the stadium before betting the over-under for total number of points.
But he could not use actual point spreads, even when he was sitting alongside odds maker Jimmy The Greek Snyder in the studio for the CBS Sports pregame show NFL Live in the 1970s and 80s. The NFL wanted no part of the action that was a driving factor for interest in their games, and the leagues TV partners abided by it.
They would have to say, I think they can win by a touchdown or maybe win by a touchdown and a field goal, Musburger said.
Times have changed dramatically. Since the U.S. Supreme Court in 2018 cleared the way for states to legalize sports betting, the practice has moved out from the shadows and into the limelight faster than just about anyone would have predicted.
Legal sports betting is now available in more than two dozen states and the District of Columbia, though some allow only in-person wagers rather than online play. (California has not yet legalized sports betting.) Over half the adult population in the United States is in a state where some form of sports betting is legal. By 2023, that could grow to more than 80 percent of adults in the U.S., according to executives.
Global digital betting revenue is estimated to exceed $43 billion in 2025, up from $25.5 billion this year, according to research firm H2 Gambling Capital.
What was perhaps considered a little bit of a taboo subject historically is now being largely or completely accepted as part of the sports media landscape, said Freddie Longe, executive vice president and managing director of Endeavor Group-owned betting business IMG Arena.
Endeavor, the owner of agency WME and the Ultimate Fighting Championship, last month announced its acquisition of sports betting platform OpenBet for $1.2 billion in cash and stock.
Sports leagues that once opposed gambling as a threat to the integrity of games have increasingly come to accept the practice.
The NFL, which long distanced itself from wagering, now has sportsbooks such as DraftKings, FanDuel and Caesars as official sponsors, a first for the league. The designation entitles the companies to use the leagues shield logo in its advertising, in a deal reportedly worth $1 billion.
And sports media companies including ESPN, Fox Sports, CBS Sports and Turner Sports are seeking a piece of the action.
The fact that the leagues have all kind of gotten into that business makes it easier for a rights holder like ESPN or Fox or TNT to be in that business as well, because theres no pushback from the league, said Eric Johnson, a former ESPN executive and faculty director of UCLA Andersons Center for Management of Enterprise in Media, Entertainment and Sports.
Deals with sports betting companies have led to more open discussion of odds and betting information during sports programming and an influx of advertising dollars.
Lee Berke, president of the consulting firm LHB Sports, Media & Entertainment, said sportsbook companies are putting 80% of their revenue into marketing. Sports betting has exploded as an advertising category for NFL TV rights-holders Fox, NBC, CBS and ESPN.
Lets just say that our fans are really interested in sports betting, Bob Chapek, chief executive of ESPN parent Walt Disney Co., said last month. Lets say that our partners with the leagues are interested in sports betting. So were interested in sports betting.
Attitudes have changed.
Only two years ago, Disneys then-CEO Bob Iger distanced the company from wagering, saying, I dont see the Walt Disney Co., certainly in the near-term, getting involved in the business of gambling, and in fact, facilitating gambling in any way, though he noted that ESPN would include gambling-related information in its coverage.
ESPN and Caesars Entertainment in August 2020 opened a 6,000-square foot studio facility at the Linq Hotel + Experience in Las Vegas to serve as the home of the companys sports betting programming, including The Daily Wager. ESPN has discussed licensing its brand to sportsbooks, according to a Wall Street Journal report.
Although ESPN, according to executives, has no plans to become a sportsbook and facilitating bets itself, it sees gambling-related coverage as an opportunity to better engage young audiences.
One of ESPNs channels, ESPNews, has a constant stream of betting odds data along the side and bottom of the screen as it re-airs the flagship networks news-talk shows SportsCenter and Get Up. When the recent Monday Night Football contest between the Los Angeles Chargers and Las Vegas Raiders was delayed by weather, the company saw a spike in traffic for an ESPN+ article laying out the odds on the game.
The content space, for us, has been a really compelling one, said Mike Morrison, ESPNs vice president of sports betting and fantasy. Betting absolutely has to be part of that storytelling and the content that we produce.
Media companies have greeted the arrival of legalized gambling as a chance to improve ratings as cord cutting accelerates.
The rise of regulated gambling gives viewers a literal investment in the outcome of a game, even if their home team isnt the one playing, said Abraham J. Wyner, faculty lead of the Wharton Sports Analytics and Business Initiative of the University of Pennsylvania.
Ive been a lifelong fan of my favorite teams, particularly the Yankees, and that keeps me interested, but Im not about to go watch Red Sox-Rays if I dont have a betting interest or some other kind of interest in the outcome, Wyner said. As people are becoming more removed from the actual playing of the game in their lives, betting is a great way to cultivate more interest and deeper interest in the broadcast.
Legal betting is creating opportunities for TV programming to serve potential bettors, especially those who found the idea of using the local bookie unsavory.
You definitely have more people who were reluctant to do something that wasnt considered legal, said Brian Musburger. Now there is this large population of mostly men who are embarrassed that they dont know how to read the information on the board of a Vegas sportsbook. Were producing a lot of Betting 101 content to demystify the process without hurting the male ego.
Most media companies have yet to go all in.
The question is, are you actually going to be a sportsbook or are you just going to license your name out? said media analyst Rich Greenfield, of LightShed Partners. How deeply is it going to be integrated?
Others have been more overt in their forays into gambling, including Fox Corp. and its Fox Sports unit. CEO Lachlan Murdoch has strong ties to Britain and Australia, where sports wagering has long been normalized.
Wagering platform Fox Bet, which gambling company the Stars Group and Fox Corp. launched through a 2019 partnership, is now available in Colorado, Michigan, New Jersey and Pennsylvania. The deal gave Fox a 4.99% stake in the Stars Groups U.S. business, which is now owned by gaming company FanDuels majority owner, Flutter.
Additionally, Fox this year acquired OutKick Media, sports personality Clay Travis popular resource of information and commentary among sports bettors.
Media companies mainly want to cater to casual gamers those willing to plunk down $10 to $20 on a game rather than the frequent gamblers who make big, risky bets. Think of something more akin to people who play Clash of Clans than Adam Sandlers problem gambler character in Uncut Gems. Part of Foxs strategy is to convert users of the free-to-play Fox Bet Super 6 app, which allows viewers to make game predictions for cash prizes into real-money bettors.
Were not necessarily looking to go after the hardcore, early adopter, said Edward Hartman, senior vice president of corporate development at Fox Corp. The real opportunity we see is what we think will be the fattest part of the bell curve the mass adoption phase which is the casual sports fans who love their teams and love watching games and will have a casual wager to enhance their enjoyment of a game.
There are limits to how far media companies and advertisers can go. The NFL places strict limits on gambling ads during broadcasts. League executives hope to avoid inundating viewers with too many gambling ads after seeing how betting-related marketing hit a saturation point in places like Britain.
Only the seven betting companies with NFL deals are allowed to advertise during pro football broadcasts. The league allows six ads per telecast: one per quarter and one during pregame and halftime.
While odds analysis can bring another level of sophistication to coverage, NFL executives are reluctant to have explicit gambling references during the regular live national broadcasts. Research indicated that audiences dont want national broadcasts to explicitly include gambling chatter, according to Christopher Halpin, the NFLs chief strategy and growth officer.
The bettors say, I dont need to hear Jim Nantz and Tony Romo talk about sports betting, Halpin said. Its inauthentic. Its not their area.
Berke said that sports TV getting into streaming and multiple telecasts of the same events offers an opportunity to serve the gambling audience without alienating fans who are less comfortable with wagering talk.
Overall you can see this, sport by sport, they are eager to integrate it in various fashions or provide in particular alternate feeds where gamblers can participate, said Berke. But at the same time they dont want to cross the line and turn off families and turn off non-gamblers and make everything a bet.

BetQL Network Partners With Flowics for Live Graphics and Sports Betting Data Integration – PSNEurope
Posted: at 8:57 pm
NEW YORK Oct. 12, 2021 Flowics, creator of the most comprehensive platform for powering remote and in-studio production of live graphics and interactive content, announced today that the BetQL Network a live, linear digital channel has chosen Flowics for quick-turn, scalable data and graphics integration for its new live sports betting shows airing on Twitch, YouTube, and the Audacy and BetQL digital platforms.
The Flowics platform is modular and allows producers and in-house graphics departments to create and integrate graphics and audience participation into any production workflow. The BetQL Network has implemented the Flowics Graphics module and the Flowics Sportradar Data Connectors into its workflow. The graphics module makes it possible for network producers and graphic artists to create cloud-based HTML5 graphics rapidly for their digital shows on Twitch, while the Sportradar Data Connector feeds Sportradars live betting data from multiple sportsbooks and live sports statistics into the Flowics graphics engine.
The native integration of Sportradar APIs into Flowics removes any need for custom development and abstracts the complexity of data feeds, which is handled internally by the Flowics External Connectors architecture. The combination means the BetQL Network can show its viewers clear, up-to-the minute odds and probabilities that help them make betting decisions.
Unlike traditional graphics solutions, the cloud-based Flowics platform allowed the BetQL Network to get up and running quickly, with the flexibility to manage graphics across a distributed team in a scalable way. The BetQL Network also gets the benefit of remote production support and data integrations that are ready to go.
Working closely with Flowics, we were able to deploy something truly new, innovative, and bespoke, said Andrew Stelle, director of studio operations, Audacy. The speed of development from Flowics has been impressive, and our partnership with them has enabled us to bring up-to-the-second data across all of our over 95 hours of weekly original content.
This implementation of Flowics Graphics and our Sportradar Data Connectors in a production environment is a good example of how major content creators can combine cloud-based graphics with real-time sports data to produce betting-oriented feeds in more scalable and flexible ways, said Flowics CEO and Founder Gabriel Baos. Graphics are a key element of these live shows, and its gratifying that the BetQL Network has chosen Flowics to be the only graphics engine in the workflow. We look forward to a growing partnership as the network launches more shows in the coming months.
