Casinos Want To Reopen Craps And Roulette Tables After Promising First Weeks Back – WBUR

Posted: July 31, 2020 at 6:31 pm

In the three weeks since the slots parlor and casinos in Massachusetts began reopening, there have been very few incidents related to the pandemic-related health and safety measures imposed by the Gaming Commission and now the casinos are asking to be allowed to offer more games.

Loretta Lillios, chief enforcement counsel of the commission's Investigations and Enforcement Bureau, reported Thursday that the number of incidents in which the commission's enforcement unit has had to step in "can be counted on one hand."

"All the reports have been very positive. There's been an all hands on deck approach for all three of the licensees with a high level of on-the-ground engagement from casino employees, including management level on the casino floor actively engaged in reminding guests, for instance, whose masks fall below the nose to pull them up," she told the commission. "And there's also been, overall, a high level of cooperation from guests as well, with few problems around health and safety measures."

Lillios said that the two licensees with tables games MGM Springfield and Encore Boston Harbor in Everett have requested that the commission allow them to offer craps and roulette, both of which are dice games currently prohibited under the commission's reopening guidelines.

"We are working through those requests now. The agents are working on understanding the prototype to use plexi[glass] on the games, whether the seated option is viable and would enhance safety, they're also looking at the question of proximity issues, taking into account the players and staff," Lillios said. "It's something that we expect you would evaluate substantively at a later meeting in August."

Can Video Roulette Be Replicated on PlayStation? – Mighty Gadget

Posted: at 6:31 pm

What Is Video Roulette?

If you have ever visited a casino or seen what it looks like on TV, you must have seen a roulette table somewhere. Roulette is a classic table casino game with a betting area where different numbers and betting options are listed and a roulette ball that lands on one of the numbered pockets on a spinning roulette wheel.

Low deposit casino

This traditional casino game has found its way to online casinos that allow their players to have the same casino real-money gaming experience from the comfort of their homes or anywhere else. If you are passionate about casinos where a little goes a long way then this low deposit casino site will help.

Video roulette is a version of traditional roulette that lets players play on a machine rather than a casino table. Video roulette cabinet machines resemble those of slot and poker games but are more directed towards those players who like to play on their own. By playing solo, they control the games flow, have access to detailed statistics on previous spins, and no tipping of the dealer is required.

Recently, casinos have been exploring the option of merging the online casino gaming world with that of gaming consoles. We are now going to look into that possibility in the article below.

There is no denying that online casino gaming is a vast enterprise, thanks mostly to online slots and roulette games. Given how much revenue online casino gaming is generating, it is no wonder that so many gaming console manufacturers are tempted to bring online casino gaming to their consoles.

The players seem excited to try their favorite casino games on their PlayStation and Xbox devices, but the developers still havent made any moves in that direction. It appears that gaming giants like Microsoft and Sony are reluctant to allow casino gaming on their consoles as it would undoubtedly promote real-money gambling, and that has always been a serious topic.

However, social gaming and casinos seem to be taking the iGaming market by storm, and gaming consoles couldnt stay immune for long, which is why players can already play social casino games they can download from the PlayStation Store and Microsoft Online Store.

Since games for PlayStation and Xbox vary in themes and gaming options, it is only a matter of time when casino games will be added into the mix. Maybe, once Sony releases the PS5 after the coronavirus pandemic is over, we could see some casino games on this highly-anticipated gaming console.

From a technical standpoint, video roulette can be designed for PlayStation consoles thanks to modern technology the game makers now use. Online casino software developers are among the leaders in gaming innovation, so making a standalone video roulette game shouldnt be too much of a problem. We can already see in PlayStation games, such as The Four Kings Casino, how players can use 3D avatars to go around a casino floor and play slot and video poker machines.

PlayStation players are sure that the introduction of in-game video roulette would be a great addition to the world of PlayStation gaming, especially if the games come in free-play and real-money modes so that the novice roulette players dont have to wager any real money when trying out the games.

However, some estimate that the implementation of video roulette games in PlayStation social casinos will jeopardize their initial purpose. Also, some players believe that in-game video roulette might lead to more real-money losses for players, which goes against the purpose of console gaming.

So, it might be safe to say that implementing video roulette machines with different roulette games wont be done in the same way as in online casinos.

Still, a number of standalone PlayStation games, like The Four Kings Casino, Pure Hold Em, Prominence Poker, and High Roller Casino, have shown us that the implementation of video roulette machines in PlayStation games is possible.

Recently, Rockstar Games was contemplating the idea of introducing a casino into the online platform of its famed GTA5 game. Implementing a casino in GTA5 would allow players to play casino games for real money within the game, but the idea was abandoned in favor of the development of GTA6.

While there are some gaming enthusiasts who prefer classic roulette, most others have voiced their support for video roulette machines and cant wait to play them on their gaming consoles.

No one knows for sure if they will be able to do so since not much progress has been made on the issue. Classic roulette table games are already available on PlayStation, but video roulette machines are still not widely accessible.

PlayStation gaming enthusiasts remain on the lookout for any updates from Sony, and when we consider the technological advancements and strides that have been made in game development, we just might see a merger of gaming consoles and casino games in the future.

Indias New Education Policy takes the bullet out of the old, Russian roulette-like system – ThePrint

Posted: at 6:31 pm

Text Size:A- A+

New Delhi: There are inherent problems in our current education system, such as how our education does not get us a job, said ThePrints Editor-in-Chief Shekhar Gupta as he discussed the new National Education Policy (NEP), which is aimed at fixing the mess in Indias education system.

In episode 535 of Cut the Clutter, Gupta dissected, one by one, how the new policy addresses the current problems.

He began by talking about the irrelevance of what students are taught in schools and colleges and how far it actually helps us in real life. Quoting a line from a famous Gulzar song Halchal Theek Thak Hai from the film Mere Apne BA kiya, MA kiya, lagta hai woh bhi anwai kiya (Ive done a BA and an MA, but it all seems to be in vain) he underlined how little degrees help in the long run.

He further pointed out that the education system is too exam-centric and likened it to a game of Russian roulette, wherein a bullet is placed in one of the six chambers of a revolver and then the gun is fired. Depending on your luck, youll either get an empty chamber or the one loaded with the bullet. Gupta said if things go well for you on the day of the final exam, it is like shooting the empty chamber and you survive. But if anything went wrong, it would be like shooting yourself in the head.

Also read: A second shot at boards, no MPhil, a blow to rote-learning what Modi govts NEP brings

The other problem Gupta pointed out with the education system is the insularity. He explained that a student gets typecast for life based on the subject they chose in school and the future course of life is decided by that one choice.

For example, if a student studies physics, chemistry and/or maths, they will go on to become an engineer. And if one is not good at maths, they study biology and go on to become a doctor that is a tag they carry for the rest of their life.

The current policy aims to solve this by allowing students to mix and match subjects in school and college. Gupta also spoke about the comeback of the four-year undergraduate programme, which was rolled back in 2013.

The NEP will allow universities to offer both three-year and four-year undergraduate programs, which will allow students multiple exit options. If a student leaves after one year, he or she will get a certificate, leaving after two years will earn a diploma, and the degree will be awarded on completing three or four years. The system is a welcome step, said Gupta.

The NEP also addressed the issues at the basic learning level among school children in the country. Gupta noted that the policy bats for extending the Right to Education from three to 18 years of age. Currently, it applies to five to 14 years of age. The extension will enable inclusion of children from all ages in the formal schooling system, thereby ensuring that every child gets educated. This will be a very positive step because it will improve the learning level among school children in India, said Gupta.

The NEP also provided for using regional or local languages as a medium of instruction upto Class 5 in schools. This, Gupta said, is a good idea since students will be taught in their mother tongue or a language they best understand, but he questioned how the formula will be applied to schools that are more metropolitan, like the Dhirubhai Ambani School in Mumbai. He added that teaching in ones mother tongue should not undermine the value of teaching English in schools because we cannot have a generation of children who are not able to do business in the English language.

Gupta addressed one more problem which, according to him, the policy does not resolve commercialisation and corruption. Education will be treated as a not for profit entity under the new policy. This, Gupta argued, will give rise to more corruption because people do not want to open education institutions for charity.

5 things to expect of new online casinos – Business MattersBusiness Matters

Posted: at 6:31 pm

Those of us who grew up in the 1980s and 90s will remember our parents and grandparents looking on in puzzled bewilderment at the technology encompassed by a Commodore 64 or later a Sega Saturn. Today, these are museum pieces.

If there is one thing that can drive change even faster than evolving technology it is a competitive market. Spend a couple of minutes watching those late night TV ads, and you can see we certainly have that in the casino gaming sector. High competition and amazing technological advances mean this area of gaming is moving even faster than the rest. There are new online casinos appearing on the scene every week, and every one of them has to offer something a little different to the rest. Here are five areas that are evolving before our very eyes.

Live gaming is when the player interacts with a real dealer via webcam instead of just watching a computer generated deck of cards or roulette wheel on the screen. It makes for a more immersive experience and brings the atmosphere of a real casino into cyberspace, something that has become even more important in recent months for obvious reasons.

Depositing money safely into a casino account and being able to withdraw winnings quickly are two areas that can give the site a competitive edge. Choice is key here, as there are so many online payment platforms available. A vital area of development is in the area of cryptocurrency. Digital payment is the perfect fit for money gaming in a digital casino, and we should expect Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies to be a standard option with most new casinos.

When products like the Oculus Rift hit the shelves a couple of years ago, it seemed that virtual reality had finally hit the mainstream. It has not quite taken off as expected, but VR is still one of the most exciting forms of gaming technology at the cutting edge. The casino environment is the perfect place for VR, thanks to the relative simplicity of, for example, a spinning wheel or a turning card.

When the Nevada Gaming Commission introduced new rules on skill-based games, it opened up a world of possibilities. Now, new casinos can offer games that go beyond the standard slots, card games and so on. From platform games to driving simulators, the sky is the limit, and all with real money payouts for the top performers.

For all that innovation, however, the classic games like blackjack and roulette are still the most popular. Expect new casinos to find ways to repackage these and offer new twists. We are already starting to see this in games like Lightning Roulette where a lightning strike on random numbers adds a route to extra bonuses.

Joel Cummins Covers Journey, Wilco & Elton John ‘Live From The Living Room’ – JamBase

Posted: at 6:31 pm

Umphreys McGee keyboardist Joel Cummins presented a 70-minute set livestreamed from his home for the Live From The Living Room series on Wednesday night. Cummins mixed UM originals with classical compositions, a jazz tune and covers of songs by Journey, Wilco and Elton John.

Joel kicked off the performance with a jam that led into Bachs Prelude In C Major #2. The pianist then played DeBussys Serenade For The Doll and jazz artist Lee Morgans Sidewinder. Cummins first vocal offering of the evening was Dont Let The Sun Go Down On Me, a song Elton John originally released on his 1974 studio album, Caribou.

Dont Let The Sun Go Down On Me led into Mamu, an Umphreys McGee original the band has only played three times since 2002. Joel then jammed UMs Wife Soup into the Wilco classic Sunken Treasure. From there, Cummins fit Roulette within Higgins before Hajimemashite bled into Journeys beloved Dont Stop Believin. The set came to a close with the end of UMs own All In Time.

Donations were split between Team Umphreys McGee and the National Civil Rights Museum. Watch Joels set below:

What You Need to Know About the Coronavirus Right Now – The New York Times

Posted: at 6:31 pm

(Reuters) - Here's what you need to know about the coronavirus right now:

10,000 deaths in 11 days

U.S. deaths from the novel coronavirus were approaching 150,000 on Wednesday, the highest level in the world and up by 10,000 in 11 days, a Reuters tally showed.

This is the fastest increase in fatalities since the United States went from 100,000 cases to 110,000 cases in 11 days in early June.

Nationally, COVID-19 deaths have risen for three weeks in a row while the number of new cases week-on-week fell for the first time since June.

A spike in infections in Arizona, California, Florida and Texas this month has overwhelmed hospitals. The rise has forced states to make a U-turn on reopening economies that were restricted by lockdowns in March and April.

Wrangling resumes in Washington

Top Trump administration officials and Democratic congressional leaders will try on Wednesday to narrow their differences over a coronavirus aid bill, with no guarantees they can craft a compromise before some jobless benefits expire at the end of this week.

Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin and White House chief of staff Mark Meadows were expected to resume negotiations with the two senior Democrats in Congress - House of Representatives Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer.

An hour-long meeting of the four broke up on Tuesday with no sign of progress.

Senate Republican leaders are pushing for around $1 trillion in new aid, on top of more than $3 trillion enacted since early this year. Democrats see a far greater need as they back $3 trillion in new spending.

'Quarantine roulette'

Heathrow Airport, once Europe's busiest, called on Britain to urgently back a passenger testing regime, warning that without one, the country's strict quarantine rules will stop travel, stall the economy and lead to more job losses.

Heathrow said that to avoid losing a game of global "quarantine roulette", the government should change its rules to cut quarantine from 14 days to around eight for passengers who take two tests over the course of a week.

The worst public health crisis since the 1918 influenza outbreak has wrought economic turmoil across the world and just as the travel industry restarted there are fears of a second wave of shutdowns after Britain hastily imposed a quarantine on travellers from Spain.

The cost of having a coronavirus test at the airport would be about 150 pounds ($195) per person and the passenger would be expected to pay.

Aged care home crisis in Australia

Australia has sent defence and emergency medical teams, usually deployed to disaster zones, to aged care homes in Melbourne to help contain the country's worst outbreak of the virus. There are 804 active COVID-19 cases linked to the homes, including workers, state premier Daniel Andrews said.

Prime Minister Scott Morrison described as "very distressing" the situation in 13 care facilities in the state of Victoria, of which Melbourne is capital.

The outbreaks have largely been due to transmission from workers at the homes, many of whom might have been unaware they were carrying the virus. "When it rains, everyone gets wet. And that is what we're seeing with broad-based community transmission in Victoria," Morrison said.

Melbourne, Australia's second-most populous city, is in the midst of a reimposed lockdown that has stalled the reopening of businesses, forced other states to shut borders with Victoria and held off reopening travel with New Zealand.

Brink of large coronavirus outbreak

Hong Kong leader Carrie Lam warned the city is on the brink of a large-scale outbreak and urged people to stay indoors as strict measures to curb the spread took effect on Wednesday.

The new regulations ban gatherings of more than two people, close dining in restaurants and make the wearing of face masks mandatory in public places, including outdoors. These are the toughest measures introduced in the city since the outbreak.

The government has also tightened testing and quarantine arrangements for sea and air crew members. The measures will be in place for at least seven days.

BetConstruct strengthens live casino offering with Hi-Lo addition – Casino Beats

Posted: at 6:31 pm

BetConstruct has enhanced its live casino offering after launching Hi-Lo, an adaptation of the once viral web game The Higher Lower.

Hi-Lo will give players the chance to predict whether the next card dealt by a dealer is of a higher, lower or equal value to the one lying face-up on the table.

To deliver fair gameplay and dynamic odds, BetConstruct will use the ShuffleStar Continuous Shuffler hardware system to create real-time non-stop shuffling action for all eight decks.

In addition to making a prediction on the card value, players will also be able to place a number of side bets which BetConstruct emphasised will liven up the game and add up revenue figures.

BetConstruct highlighted that the straightforward nature of the Hi-Lo game has a clear and major potential of attracting mass audiences, giving BetConstructs operators the opportunity to roll out the quick-to-play game for their players.

Earlier this month, Betconstruct rolled out its Swift Roulette title, introducing new rules for what it lauded as a fan-favourite game.

Swift Roulette combines eight different roulette tables in one view which allows players to choose their betting amount, or save their favourite bets, and play the game immediately without waiting for other players to join in. Once a player makes a bet, the payout is determined by the roulette game which is the first out of eight games to announce the winning result.

Marvels Agents of SHIELD season 7 episode 10 review: Inhuman roulette – Culturess

MARVEL'S AGENTS OF S.H.I.E.L.D. -"Stolen" After Enochs sacrifice propelled them out of the time storm, the team arrives back in 1983 where Nathanial and Kora are hard at work building an army of hand-selected anarchist Inhumans at Afterlife. When the agents split up to cover more ground, Daisy is tasked with protecting Jiaying and is compelled to confront her mother for the first time since her death; while the others quickly learn theyll need to face yet another supercharged former enemy in order to stop Malick on "Marvels Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.," airing WEDNESDAY, JULY 29 (10:0011:00 p.m. EDT), on ABC. - (ABC/Jessica Brooks)THOMAS E. SULLIVAN

DearMarvels Agents of SHIELD, will we see Fitz in this weeks episode? Probably not? Lets get to it!

Nathaniel Malick is recruiting John Garrett. I was wondering how wed bring him back into the picture! Malick brings him to Afterlife and introduces him to Sibyl and the process of transferring Inhuman powers to normal humans.

Roxy actually made it into SHIELD! Shes been holding down the fort at the Lighthouse, ready to meet up with the rest of the team at the Triskelion (which exists ahead of schedule). Whats the plan of attack? They bring in Gordon and Jiaying and send Coulson and Gordon in to do some recon.

Too bad Jiaying shows up and drops the bomb about Daisys sister before May and Elena can warn her. Cora killing herself in the original timeline led Jiaying to leave Afterlife and do charity work, meet Calvin Zabo, have Daisy

Gordon and Coulson are discovered immediately because Malick has the time stream. Of course Garrett is going to get Gordons teleporting powers. This is going to go poorly. They come into the Lighthouse.

Sousa gives Daisy some insight on talking to her mom. The time streams are screwed anyway, so whats one conversation? Its a very heartfelt scene, one thatAgents of SHIELD is always stellar at. Telling Jiaying that theyre from the future fills in some blanks for Jiaying. Chloe Bennet steals the show.

Of course Malick ruins it by blowing Daisys cover and starting on a tangent about their future and everything Jiaying will put Daisy through. Theres a head-to-head with Daisy and Malick, but the shocking moment is when Malick snaps Jiayings neck and kills her.

They were afterSimmons! The twists keep coming! They steal her and the Zephyr (with Deke onboard).

Malick tells Simmons the one thing that stands in their way of succeeding in every single timeline: Fitz.

May kicking the crap out of Garrett was very satisfying. He was a fun villain of season one, thats for sure.

Clever. Digging up our greatest hits, Coulson says as he meets young Garrett. Touch, Coulson.

Kudos toAgents of SHIELD for using Bill Paxtons real-life son to portray young John Garrett. And a double kudos to theGuardians of the Galaxy Easter egg of Deke listening to an awesome mix on a tape player with orange headphones.

Simmons also has her breakdown moment. Daisy asks what she remembers before wiping her memories, recalling how she was inconsolable. Simmons breaks down to Deke, wondering if Fitz isnt dead and the time jumps were pre-programmed. Well, based on that post-credits stinger, we should be seeing him very soon.

Next weeksAgents of SHIELD looks like the team might fall for Cora wanting to become part of SHIELD. Or maybe she actually means it. Well have to find out.

Here’s who has the best odds of winning the Stanley Cup in 2020 | Offside – Daily Hive

Posted: July 5, 2020 at 10:27 am

Roulettesites.org is a one-stop place for everything related to roulette. From recommendations for reliable roulette sites to various strategies on how to play the different games variations. The site also provides a list of safe and secure online casinos with an extensive selection of roulette games.

Does being a hub city matter?

Some oddsmakers seem to think so.

While Stanley Cup odds vary depending who is setting them, there are some bookies listing both the Toronto Maple Leafs and Edmonton Oilers near the top of the odds lists.

Toronto and Edmonton are reportedly going to be the NHLs two hub cities, with games being played at Scotiabank Arena and Rogers Place until the second round of the playoffs. From there, its likely that Edmonton will host the Conference Finals and the Stanley Cup Final too.

Will it matter where the games are played? There will be no fans in attendance, no travel for the road teams, and even the hosts will have to stay in a hotel.

And yet, both the Oilers and Leafs saw an improvement in their odds of winning it all. The Leafs in particular shot way up in the last month according to the average odds from online sportsbooks, compiled by Sports Betting Dime.

On June 2, when Toronto was a long shot to be named a hub city, the Leafs were at +2500. One month later, theyre listed at +1800. Edmonton was a hub city contender throughout, but still saw their odds improve from +2500 to +2200.

Oddsmakers atSports Interactionsappear to believe it will play a factor. The Oilers have the fifth-best odds of winning the Stanley Cup, ahead of the St. Louis Blues, Washington Capitals, Philadelphia Flyers, and Dallas Stars four teams that are getting a bye to the first round of the playoffs.

Like the Oilers, the Maple Leafs will need to win a qualifying round series just to get into the final 16, yet theyre favoured ahead of the Flyers and Stars as well.

No other qualifying round teams other than Edmonton and Toronto have stronger odds than a team with a bye.

Four other Canadian teams are in the mix of course, with the Vancouver Canucks given the 12th-best odds, followed by the Calgary Flames (13th), Winnipeg Jets (16th), and Montreal Canadiens (23rd).

The Tampa Bay Lightning (+500), Boston Bruins (+550), Vegas Golden Knights (+625), and Colorado Avalanche (+725) are currently the top favourites to win the Cup.

Letter: Take a spin at playing the Trump Roulette game – STLtoday.com

President Donald Trump smiles moments before putting his signature on a plaque commemorating the completion of 200 miles of the border wall Tuesday, June 23, 2020 outside of San Luis, Ariz. (Randy Hoeft/Yuma Sun via AP)

Regarding Missouri coronavirus cases continue steady climb (June 27): If you find reading the newspaper or watching the evening news depressing these days, you might try a round of Trump Roulette to add a touch of excitement. Heres how the game is played: Before reading the paper or watching the news, all players pick one of President Donald Trumps current blunders or scandals to be the lead story and then see who picks correctly. Its usually quite competitive with multiple candidates.

The leading contenders this week are the administrations continued mismanagement of the pandemic, the sympathy with white supremacy, and the lack of transparency over the Afghanistan bounty issue. Or, you can take a long shot on a ringer. Has anyone heard from John Bolton lately? The denial of climate change?

The game works with any national newscast other than Fox. You can also use any reputable newspaper, National Public Radio, or even the monologues of late-night comedians. You could play it with Fox national news, but the leading candidate will always be a story about how our Dear Leader is protecting his supporters from anybody who looks or acts a bit different from them.

I encourage those viewers to try this game with another outlet occasionally, at least before November.
