Evil Dead The Game review in progress hail to the king, baby – The Loadout

Posted: May 13, 2022 at 3:02 pm

As a relative late-comer to the Evil Dead fandom, I had a short but very intense period of excitement prior to the release of Saber Interactives asymmetrical action-horror: Evil Dead The Game. Its a game I have been keen to try for a little while, after falling in love with Sam Raimis direction of the movie trilogy and the development of Ash Williams character from mild-mannered college kid to heroic demon-slaying badass, and I am pleased to share that this game does not disappoint.

Evil Dead The Game really is a treat for fans of the Evil Dead franchise as well as being a treat for general fans of the horror genre or asymmetrical multiplayer games. It ticks all the boxes youd expect from a game like this, and then ticks a few more that you didnt know existed. Its clear that this was a game made by fans, for fans, as much as it was made for a wider audience. Its one of the few asymmetrical multiplayer games that has full single-player support too, in the form of a short Evil Dead The Game Missions list and AI-controlled Survivors and Demons.

But, of course, having AI companions is only part and parcel of what makes this a fantastic offering from Saber Interactive. I had the chance to review Evil Dead The Game on PS5 and, although I do have some concerns about certain aspects of the game, I am finding this to be a wholly enjoyable experience that I can see being a firm favourite for some time.

When I first jumped into the game, the first thing that struck me was just how good everything looked. I know Im playing it on a next-gen console, so the graphics were never going to look that bad, but the game is a feast for the eyes beyond its detailed textures and smooth frame rates.

The in-game artwork is truly exceptional

The in-game artwork is truly exceptional. Whether youre trawling through the menus looking at the games impressive array of unlockable skills and upgrades, or deciding which Mission to tackle next, youll find Ash Williams and his buddies beautifully illustrated. The artwork showcases the Survivors using in-game items, battling Deadites, or facing off against a terrifying Kandarian Demon.

Then, when you come to actually playing Evil Dead The Game, youre met with an intensely atmospheric action-horror experience that evokes the emotions brought about by Sam Raimis movies with unexpected accuracy. Its overly graphic, in a campy way, with its intense blood-splattering finishing moves and shotgun blasts that quite-literally blow the face off of the Deadites youre up against. And, more importantly, its isolating, despite the fact that youre playing within a team of four, with its sparsely-lit open spaces and impressive weather effects.

This feeling of isolation is only intensified by the absence of enemies from the games minimap and the interesting Fear system.

When youre running around in the darkness as Ash or one of his buddies you need to keep an eye on your Fear level. This increases whenever youre alone, under attack, or in the darkness adding an important survival game-like aspect to this already action-packed experience. There are ways for you to reduce this level, mainly by standing in the light and taking a breather, but Evil Dead The Game doesnt make that easy.

So, it ultimately feels inevitable that youll max out your Fear level at some point during a game sometimes, you just cant find the Matchsticks you need to start a campfire.

When your Survivor is scared, its like having tunnel vision

If youre unlucky enough to have your Fear level climb above your characters threshold, then youre in for a bad time but also the most exciting time when it comes to playing as a Survivor. When your Survivor is scared, its like having tunnel vision. Your in-game sound and the edge of your screen are both distorted, making it even harder to avoid attacks from the Deadites and Demons around you, and you quickly find yourself frantically running for your life. Like with all horror games, the thrill of the chase is the best part.

Without this mechanic, which might seem like a superficial addition to the game at first, I fear Evil Dead The Game would be more hack-and-slash than horror. It helps to keep you on your toes and forces you to think much more strategically about how you use the limited loot items you have. Healing items and Matchsticks used for lighting fires are few and far between in this game; you dont want to waste what little you have when youre fighting against a Kandarian Demon.

I have spent most of my time playing Evil Dead The Game, so far, as a Survivor. However, I did dip my toes into the horrors of the Necronomicon to play as a Demon a few times and thats a wholly different experience.

You really do feel like youre in a Sam Raimi movie in the best possible way

When youre playing as a Demon, youre primarily orchestrating the Army of Darkness in Spirit Form. The erratic movement controls do take a bit of getting used to compared to controlling a Survivor, but when youre playing in this mode you really do feel like youre in a Sam Raimi movie in the best possible way.

I will say that the lack of sensitivity options, and accessibility options as a whole, are troubling if youre struggling to play, there arent any concessions available. I hope these are features that will be available in the future, but it doesnt quite make sense why theyre not available now.

That being said, once you get your head around the controls, playing as a Demon is a fantastic and much more rewarding experience than other asymmetrical multiplayer games, like Dead By Daylight and Predator Hunting Grounds. Why? Because youre not just playing as one Kandarian Demon, really; youre playing as the whole Army of Darkness.

Boss units are by-far the most exciting way to play as a Demon

Using Infernal Energy, you can possess roaming Deadites and attack the Survivors yourself, summon powerful elite enemies to further disrupt their attempts at banishing you, and even set traps in supply boxes and evil trees (something which always takes you by surprise as a Survivor.)

With enough of this energy, you can even summon a boss unit, which takes the form of whichever Kandarian Demon youre playing as be that Evil Ash, Henrietta, or Eligos. These boss units are by-far the most exciting way to play as a Demon and, in the right hands, make short work of Ash Williams and his friends. With Evil Dead The Game, you get all the fun of playing as a killer in Dead By Daylight and the enjoyment of strategically dismantling your opponents plan of attack with well-placed traps and proximity-based portals (that, of course, spawn more enemies).

Whether youre playing with your friends against the forces of evil, or taking control of those forces of evil yourself, youre in for a fun time with Evil Dead The Game. I havent played enough of it yet to talk about the depth of its upgrade system and the decent variety of weaponry on offer, but my first impressions are that this game could, with the right post-launch support, be around for a long time. Its action-packed, frightening when it needs to be, and full of charm. Of course, the gameplay loop could get repetitive as with any asymmetrical multiplayer game but I dont see that happening for quite some time.

Senior night for Moapa Valley Baseball may have officially been on May 5th against Virgin Valley. However, anyone attending the game today could tell you that the real senior night happened tonight against Boulder City. The pirates all shined brightly, putting up an impressive 13 hits, with no errors in the field. The boys demonstrated the teamwork and drive theyve strived for all season.

Junior starting pitcher Tyson Staheli went 5 innings allowing 7 runs on 8 hits and striking out 3. Freshman, Tyson Pettingill, had an impressive 3 hits with 2 doubles. Junior, Landon Wresinski, contributed 2 singles while sophomore, Tahj Totten, also had a single in the game.

Now the Seniors:

Gunnar Redd, left fielder, batting .323 on the season, had 2 singles and a walk, scoring 3 runs. Defensively, Redd made 2 impressive outs on fly balls hit to left field.

Austin Heizelbetz, center fielder, batting .357 on the season, hit an RBI triple. He ended the first inning by catching a fly ball hit to centerfield. Heizelbetz also got the save after pitching two innings allowing 1 hit, and striking out one, with no earned runs scored.

Rylan Evans, batting .557 on the season, hit 2 singles and 2 homers, over to left center and another no doubter to left for 5 RBIs. Evans made a vertical jumping catch on a line drive that drew gasps from the Pirate crowd. He also made a double play, assisted by Tyson Staheli and C. Evans to end the sixth.

The Moapa Valley Pirates took a 10-7 win over Boulder City Eagles, securing their spot in the state tournament. The win was a team effort but in their last home game ever, the seniors definitely left their mark in history.

The Moapa Valley Pirates will play the Virgin Valley Bulldogs in the regional championship tomorrow at 4:00pm in Mesquite.

Riley Herbst showing progress with Stewart-Haas: Momentum is everything – NASCAR

Posted: at 3:01 pm

Last season, all eyes were on Riley Herbst as he replaced Chase Briscoe in Stewart-Haas Racings No. 98 Xfinity Series car. The year before, Briscoe won a series-high nine races in that ride.

Out of necessity, Herbsts expectations skyrocketed, despite entering just his second year at the Xfinity level. And theres no sugarcoating it, 2021 was a struggle.

[Everyone] had a bar set for me, obviously, and I knew I wasnt going to hit that bar because Im not Chase Briscoe, Herbst recently told NASCAR.com. Hes in the Cup Series right now and Im in the Xfinity Series.

RELATED: Xfinity Series standings | 2022 schedule

Throughout Herbsts tenure at Stewart-Haas, he hasnt gotten caught up in the comparisons to previous Xfinity drivers in the teams young history. But it took the No. 98 team until the fifth race of 2021 to get its first top-10 finish of the season, with three of the first four races being results of 26th or worse with three DNFs.

The silver lining for the duration of the 2021 season was that Herbst showed flashes of speed. It was something to build on for 2022, his third full-time season in the Xfinity Series.

Sometimes, it beats you down, Herbst said of not getting consistent finishes. But then, you have to step back and think we were at X track and had good speed, we just didnt finish. I either made a mistake or wrecked. Its hard to go off the finishing order because that doesnt show the whole story most of the time.

Momentum is everything. It was tough last year, and we knew that if we did what we were supposed to do, we would finish OK.

Consistency is key, and something Herbst honed in on over the offseason. He entered the 2022 season with a new mentality of solidifying the No. 98 Ford as a weekly top-10 competitor. From there, its slowly been about getting into the top five. It also marked the first time in his racing career that hed have the same crew chief, full time, for the duration of a season in Richard Boswell II.

That familiarity and chemistry with Boswell is an understated part of Herbsts turnaround through the opening 11 races of the 2022 season.

The biggest thing is weve taken the day for what the car is going to give us and what the team is going to give us, Boswell said. If thats a solid seventh place, then its a solid seventh place and weve got a race car thats in one piece and something to work on.

Finishing races was a point of emphasis that Kevin Harvick and his Kevin Harvick Inc. management company helped instill in Herbst, who joined KHI as a client ahead of the 2022 season.

So far, so good.

The main thing with him is just making sure that we finish the races and get the things out of the day that theyre given you, Harvick added. Hes done a good job and [the team has] done exactly that. You have to finish ninth to finish fifth, you have to finish fifth to finish fourth and so on and so forth.

How good has it been? Through 11 races, Herbst already has four top-five finishes, one shy of his 2021 total. With eight top-10 finishes, hes tied with Noah Gragson for the second-most top-10 finishes thus far, only behind AJ Allmendinger who has yet to finish outside the top 10.

Not bad for Herbst, whos in his first Xfinity season with practice and qualifying for each race.

I dont really know what that is, maybe experience, Herbst said. Were way more consistent and being able to finish has been huge for us as a team and allows us to keep moving forward and progressing and ultimately move towards those goals of winning races.

Boswell, a perfectionist, knows the No. 98 team is much improved from 2021. But with just 34 stage points on the season, he says the team can still boost its performance.

Still a ways to go, he said. All of our goals are the same in wanting to win races; we want that for Riley and the guys on our team. But by all means, a big improvement thats attributed to finishing races.

MORE: NASCAR on TV this week

Boswell credits Herbsts improvement to having matured a significant amount over the past year and a half. In communicating with his team, Herbst understands what he needs out of his car more and understands when the No. 98 team is discussing different setups to run.

But dont think Herbst didnt try hard even when the success wasnt on paper.

Hes always worked hard and put his heart and soul into it, Boswell said. I think a lot of times he catches a bad rap because, quite frankly, his family has been successful. It drives me nuts because if people understood how hard he works and how badly he wants to run well then maybe theyd lay off him a little bit.

After a season-best third-place finish at Darlington last weekend, Herbst sits eighth in the championship standings (ninth in the playoff standings), 54 points above the cutline.

While 54 points is a solid margin in a stacked Xfinity field this season, Herbst plans to keep a steady approach as the year progresses, despite having two Kaulig Racing cars, including reigning series champ Daniel Hemric, and a Richard Childress Racing entry behind him in points. Should he get a win before Bristol Motor Speedway in September, hell be all but locked into the postseason.

Were worried about ourselves and progressing as a team, getting closer to our goals of winning races, he said. I think each week were taking a step forward.

It doesnt surprise me. I knew I could have done this last year if we could have achieved what we were supposed to achieve and do the things we were supposed to achieve. But we havent won, so Im not near satisfied. Its cool to finish well each week, and I think we need to keep doing that and not lose sight of the goal and have to keep laying the foundation. But I really want to win a race, and I have to win a race. This is my third full-time year and youve got to start winning some time.

ODAs design honors the cultural and historical significance of the iconic Postkantoor while revitalizing it into an urban destination for community. The design features a modern mixed-use program with a hotel, a retail center, food and beverage, two public plazas, and a new 155 meter residential tower with a unique double facade system. The new Great Hall will serve as the projects publiccore, fed by existing entrances at Coolsingel and Meent.A new entrance on Rodezand will be added, making the hall accessible from all sides through a sweeping passageway. The project's residential program is meant to create high-density support for the mixed-use program, activating the ground floor with both residents and visitors. Decades of progress and promises squandered as rights begin to disappear – Reno Gazette Journal

Posted: at 3:01 pm

Sheila Leslie| Reno Gazette Journal

This opinion column was submitted byRGJ columnist Sheila Leslie, who served in the Nevada Legislature from 1998 to 2012.

In 1973, I graduated from high school in California and the world seemed full of promise and opportunity. The Vietnam War was winding down and the compulsory draft had just ended. Title IX was being implemented and our girls basketball team would no longer be forced to practice outside in the fog on rough pitted asphalt while the boys used the cozy warm gym. And the Roe v. Wade decision meant women finally had autonomy over their own bodies. After graduation, most of us who grew up together in our one high school town would scatter across the state, choosing between free community colleges and an array of heavily subsidized, high-quality state colleges and universities.

Fast-forward 49 years to so many promises squandered. Our children cant afford to buy a house in a good neighborhood and are drowning in college debt. Our grandchildren are living on a doomed planet thanks to our greed and hubris about climate change. The separation of church and state is quickly disintegrating as politicians and jurists of a primarily white Christian religion push their values and views into politics, deciding for the rest of us if transgender children should have medical care, immigrant children should have education, and women should have full access to contraceptives and abortion.

These days, Republican candidates rail about taking back our country by promising to do even more to force their version of morality onto the rest of us. Theyre celebrating their likely abortion victory by talking about making criminals out of women who cross a state border to seek abortion in a friendlier state or try to access abortion drugs via the mail. Politicians in Mississippi and Louisiana are considering statutes to give constitutional rights to a person from the moment of fertilization, effectively denying women access to emergency contraception or even an IUD.

Some constitutional scholars and activists are warning that marriage equality, LGBTQ+ rightsand interracial marriage will be on the chopping block next and are practically begging us to wake up and smell the coffee as if the repeal of Roe v. Wade were not enough to activate us.

As the country reeled from the leak of the draft opinion by conservative justices last week, it was hard not to yell back at the TV when Chief Justice John Roberts seemed more worried about who leaked the draft opinion than about taking away a fundamental health care right from every woman in the country. He called the leaking of the confidential draft opinion a betrayal, oblivious to the much larger betrayal of denying a woman the right to make a major medical decision with her doctor, in private. Even more outlandish was Justice Clarence Thomas whining about the declining respect for institutions and the rule of law given he and his wifes well-documented unethical behavior, most recently around trying to overturn a valid election and supporting the Jan.6insurrection. Do these justices think were stupid out here beyond the Beltway and cant see what is happening?

Meanwhile, pro-life groups rejoiced in their presumed victory while noting their work would actually be increasing as there will be many unprepared pregnant women who will need help to carry their unwanted babies to term. These groups may be able to provide prenatal vitamins and even medical care during pregnancy, but how likely is it theyll be able to help these women access basic needs after the baby is born, like affordable housing and quality child care or a job with a living wage? If only they were concerned about life after birth instead of being obsessed with the moment of conception.

Nevada owes a big debt of gratitude to the women and men who were behind the brilliant design of Ballot Question 7 in 1990, which confirmed an abortion rights statute with an almost two-thirdsvote. That law can be changed only by another vote of the people and is the primary reason abortion isnt relitigated constantly in our state Legislature.

But after nearly 50years of insisting reproductive rights should be left to the states, the hypocrisy of the Republican Party is now on full display with Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnells announcement that a national ban on abortion may be coming if Republicans regain control of Congress. And the same people who protest lifesaving vaccine mandates as a body autonomy issue seem perfectly content to impose abortion bans on women with little or no regard to circumstances such as rape or incest or an individuals right to privacy when it comes to personal medical decisions. And a COVIDvaccine that protects the community at large as well as the individual is hardly the same as a nine-month pregnancy and potential lifetime commitment to a child.

As a young adult in the early '70s, I took so much of the post-'60s progress for granted. Now, 49 years later, I find it horrifying that my granddaughter will likely have fewer rights than women of my generation.

You can refuse to vote and choose to silently stand by while our democracy collapses and our basic rights evaporate. Thats going to happen unless we make sure people like Nevadas U.S. SenatorCatherine Cortez Mastoare elected. Its clear that both of the leading Republicans in the race to replace her will not support a womans right to choose.

Or we can register legions of young women and men who want their rights back and take away the Republicans political power, although even that might not be enough in the short term thanks to the Supreme Court justices theyve managed to seat.

Either way, the country should get ready for tempestuous times ahead.

RGJ columnist Sheila Leslieserved in the Nevada Legislature from 1998 to 2012.

Westfield Sees Progress on Several Fronts – Business West

Mayor Mike McCabe says hes gained needed feedback from his visits with business owners and monthly coffee hours.

Four months into his new job, Westfield Mayor Michael McCabe says he loves his work.

Im able to make an impact in areas that I wouldnt have thought I could; the job requires a lot of problem-solving, something Im used to doing, said McCabe, who, after serving for 36 years in various capacities with the Westfield Police Department, unseated incumbent Donald Humason in last Novembers election.

The same two men squared off in 2019, to a different result, obviously. McCabe ran then, and tried again last year because he thought he could use his leadership skills and ability to build relationships to move the city forward in several key areas. Early in his first year in office, he can already point to some progress and the potential for much more.

He starts downtown, where hes made a point of visiting every business from Park Square to the Great River Bridge. And as he did so, he visited some that opened just months and even weeks ago, a sign of resilience and growth in a central business district that has struggled for many years.

Ive spoken with all the store owners, and I take part in a coffee hour with the chamber every month, said McCabe, adding that these listening tours are educational in many respects; they let him know what businesses are concerned about, a list topped by traffic.

Thats one topic in McCabes wheelhouse, as his last few years with the police department were as traffic commission chairman.

One major traffic issue involves entering and exiting the Mass Turnpike in Westfield. McCabe is working with the Mass. Department of Transportation (MassDOT) to create a new eastbound entrance to the turnpike known as a slip ramp. This would greatly benefit truck traffic while at the same time, relieve much of the backup at the turnpike entrance.

Im able to make an impact in areas that I wouldnt have thought I could; the job requires a lot of problem-solving, something Im used to doing.

The idea is that once you get to the top of North Elm Street, you take a right and you dont have to stop until you get to Boston, McCabe said adding that the ramp would reduce wait times for north bound traffic by 66%. Thats a big number.

It would also cut in half the wait times for vehicles trying to exit the turnpike from the west during rush periods, where vehicles are often lined up for a half mile trying to access the exit ramp.

While the slip ramp has not yet received formal approval, McCabe said feedback from the state so far has been good. Fundamentally, there were no issues with what we are proposing, he said.

Beyond downtown and the turnpike proposal, McCabe and other municipal and business leaders can point to progress on several other fronts, including plans to create a hyper-scale data center in the northwest corner of the city.

According to McCabe, the data center is still only in the planning stage, but if it comes to fruition, this campus of buildings could be the largest development ever undertaken in this region.

Tom Flaherty, general Manager of the Westfield G&E says his internal goal is to see 99% of the city with fiber optic access by 2024.

The plan is for the data center to occupy some 155 acres in the northwest corner of the city and cost $2.7 billion when complete. It would serve as a clearinghouse of sorts for big data companies such as Google, Amazon and Facebook.

Overall, McCabe and other city leaders say Westfields bevy of assets from its location off the turnpike to its abundance of developable land center; from its municipal airport to its municipal utility, which offers a potent mix of attractively priced energy and high-speed internet are paying dividends for the community and making projects such as the data center feasible.

That much is made clear in this, the latest installment ofBusinessWestsCommunity Spotlight series.

Westfield Barnes Municipal Airport is one area of town where things are literally taking off.

According to Chris Willenborg, airport manager, nearly 50,000 takeoffs and landings occur at Barnes every year. A $4.7 million taxiway apron that was completed late in the fall allows the airport to accommodate larger aircraft and improves operations on both the civilian and military side of the airport.

Neary 3,700 student athletes fly through Barnes on sports team charter planes, Willenborg noted. These flights are typically larger aircraft, which we can now accommodate.

Three new hangars are currently under construction that will allow Barnes to have 12 to 15 more aircraft based there.

Right now, there is a waiting list to store aircraft at Barnes, Willenborg said. The leases, fuel fees and other associated costs will all generate revenue for Westfield.

With the Mass Turnpike and I-91 close by, Barnes has become an appealing airport for business aviation, which has Willenborg looking for even more hangar development. Work has also begun for what Willenborg called a major project in the pipeline.

We have a $15 million to $20 million taxiway project going out to bid next year, he said. Its in the design phase now and will involve relocating and widening one of our taxiways.

On the military side of the airport, Westfield currently houses a fleet of F-15 fighter jets. Last year the Department of Defense invited air bases to make their case for hosting F-35 jets and Barnes made its bid. The DOD is expected to decide by May or June.

The most important thing about this process is that Barnes will be getting a new fighter jet, Willenborg said. We will either bring the F-35 here or we will get the brand-new F-15 EX fighter. Either way, we are anxiously awaiting their decision.

Developments at Barnes are just some of the newsworthy projects in the northern, industrial end of the city.

Indeed, another growth area for Westfield involves James Hardie Building Products, which will soon move into the former Old Colony Envelope building. Hardie manufactures construction siding products such as backer board, a drywall-type sheet used in wet areas such as bathrooms.

Meanwhile, off Route 202, both Home Depot and Lowes maintain distribution centers for the region. Another major retailer will soon join them as Target is planning a warehouse in the same area.

The city has been able to attract these large distribution centers and become the preferred site for the hyper-scale data center because of its location, inventory of land and available properties, and the abundance of cheap power and high-speed internet.

Those last two selling points come courtesy of the Westfield Gas & Electric and Whip City Fiber, a division of the G&E continues to install its fiber optic high-speed internet infrastructure in Westfield and many small towns. Tom Flaherty, general manager for the G&E, said Whip City is on track to have 85% of Westfield covered by this time next year.

Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Eric Oulette says nearly 20 new businesses have opened in Westfield during the pandemic, a sign of entrepreneurial energy in the city.

At the same time, the company is bringing high-speed internet to 19 towns in Western Mass where no internet infrastructure previously existed. For towns like Cummington, Windsor, Heath, and others, its an economic boom.

Real estate agents are using access to Whip City Fiber as a selling point to sell homes, Flaherty said. Because they now have internet access, one town official told us they are building five new houses, where before they were lucky to build one house every other year.

Critics of Whip City Fiber have complained about resources going to other towns while sections of Westfield are still without fiber optic internet. Flaherty said revenues from Whip City Fiber customers in Westfield and the hill towns will help pay for finishing the job in town.

We have most of Westfield covered and we are tackling some of the more complex and costly areas now, Flaherty said. Installing the fiber optic cables in apartment complexes and in areas with underground wiring is more complicated and expensive.

Officially, we hope to see 99% of Westfield with fiber optic access by 2025, Flaherty said. My internal goal is 2024.

Meanwhile, back in downtown Westfield Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Eric Oulette reported that small businesses continue to open in Westfield.

During the pandemic, nearly 20 new businesses opened; that blew my mind, he said. These folks had made the decision to pursue their vision and were undaunted by the pandemic.

As COVID numbers get under control and the weather warms up, the chamber has returned to hosting in-person events.

We thought that was important because its tough to network from behind a screen, Oulette said. When people can be present with each other it leads to more clients and more job opportunities. It even opens the door for us to meet businesses who might want to join the chamber.

While membership dropped off during the pandemic, Oulette is hoping to grow from the current 230 members to 300 by the end of the year.

Several efforts are in place to encourage small business activity, such as a vacant-storefront initiative, where the city will subsidize a new business by covering half their rent payments for up to two years. Theres also a faade initiative that involves repairing and restoring building fronts for businesses in the city.

McCabe has a vision for downtown that emphasizes retailers who sell consumables.

That means taking a chance on offering places with eclectic food and more diversity than whats currently available downtown, he said.

The mayor also made a promise to himself regarding the hole in downtown where the former Newburys store stood before it was destroyed by fire more than 30 years ago. McCabe has plans to turn that lot into a public green space.

Id like to see it used for farmers markets or tag sales, or just to have a nice place to eat lunch outside, he said. We could do a lot of different things with that space.

He hopes the green space will be completed by the end of the summer.

I want to bring the idea forward, he said. If it works great, if it doesnt, a green space is still better than whats there now.

Another goal for McCabe involves creating a sustained partnership with Westfield State University. Linda Thompson joined WSU as its new president just a few months before McCabe became mayor. Because they both began their respective jobs around the same time, McCabe is hopeful they can work together for their mutual benefit.

President Thompson is a great person to work with and Im looking forward to what we can do, McCabe said. My goal is to have Westfield State graduates consider staying here when they finish college.

As Westfield pursues all its potential, there may be many new traffic issues in the future. Thats one challenge McCabe would gladly invite.

Im all about transportation, said the man wearing a classic car pattern on his tie.

LUNA, UST re-listed on Binance there is progress – CryptoSlate

Posted: at 3:01 pm

Binance said it will relist LUNA/BUSD and UST/BUSD have been re-listed after being taken down early May 13.

Following a historic week in crypto where UST de-pegged to 11 cents and LUNA lost 99.999% of its value, the worlds largest exchange has reactivated trading in the BUSD pairs.

Both coins were delisted with the CEO of Binance, CZ, stating that there had been almost no communication from the Terra team regarding a recovery plan. He noted that the decision was made to protect our users at this time.

Trading was halted for less than 24 hours before it was restarted. The relisting was delayed by several hours but is now live, with LUNA trading around $0.00007 and UST at $0.09. CZ urged extreme caution when trading these coins, saying:

Was in a no-phone meeting for 2hrs. At least, there is progress.

Luna blockchain resumed, no more minting.

And deposits, withdrawals and trading resumed. Trading is important for existing holders.

Please do NOT buy a coin just because trading is on. DYOR! EXTREME caution!

The nature of the no-phone meeting or who was involved is unknown. However, it appears that extremely sensitive information may have been discussed due to the removal of any potential recording devices.

In a previous tweet, CZ also condemned how the matter was handled, declaring:

I am very disappointed with how this UST/LUNA incident was handled (or not handled) by the Terra team.

Currently, several proposals are being reviewed by the Terra community to attempt to salvage what is left of the ecosystem. However, there have been no confirmed reports of what will be done.

The number of LUNA tokens currently in circulation is 6.5 trillion coins, with a market cap of $600 million. As CZ declared there would be no more minting, it is presently unclear how the UST peg is being maintained.

UST has always been pegged to $1 worth of LUNA; if LUNA is not being burned or minted in relation to UST, then how can it retain a peg?
