Justine Damond, an Australian woman, was shot by Mohamed Noor, the policeman she had summoned to a possible crime scene. He is a rookie with questionable experience. Police Chief Janee Harteau, who filed discrimination lawsuits against the city in the past, has resigned while the Mayor, Betsy Hodges, refuses to.

The dead woman may have died from a gunshot, but make no mistake about it; she was killed by political correctness.

This socialist-run hell hole of political correctness is responsible for there being a young, progressive female mayor and a lesbian police chief who selected a Somali for the police force simply because he fit the ethnic and cultural profile she wanted in an attempt to demonstrate the inclusiveness their failed social experiment calls for.

Now Mayor Hodges wants to appoint a new chief, saying he "knows how to communicate," as if a lack of communication was responsible for the woman's death.

Noor was no more qualified to be a policeman than a mayor who thinks communicating with criminals is going to stop them. Officer Noor claimed that he was startled by a loud noise just before he shot Damond. If that's how well unqualified candidates are trained, remind me to never call the Minneapolis police during a thunderstorm.

How many more American cities must the progressive socialists destroy?

San Francisco transit officials accused of putting political correctness above public safety – New York Post

Posted: at 10:32 am

The transit system that serves San Francisco is under fire for refusing to release video from surveillance cameras that captured several recent train attacks by groups of young black riders.

Assault, robbery and rape are up 41 percent over last year on the vast train system known as BART, or Bay Area Rapid Transit. But several recent attacks by groups of young men has the agency under public scrutiny. One victim is suing to warn riders of the risk they face when riding BART.

Approximately 30 of them invaded our car. They beat and robbed a number of individuals, said Rusty Stapp, who was returning home with his wife and 19-year-old daughter. They jumped on me, and began kicking me in the ribs. The individuals (police) saw on video were repeat offenders. They knew who they were. They had them in the system.

Yet BART refused to release the video, claiming several of the alleged perpetrators might be under 18.

Especially when (a crime) is involving juveniles as these last two incidents have, the police department makes the determination that there is not a public interest in sending all that information out, said BART spokesman Taylor Huckaby.

But Debora Allen, one of nine BART directors, said the agency is concealing the real reason putting political correctness over public safety.

They want to withhold the video release for fear of creating racial stereotyping, Allen told us last week.

She cited a July 7, 2017, internal memo to BART directors. The agency said it would not issue a press release on a similar mob attack in June because it would paint an inaccurate picture of the BART system as crime ridden.

It would also unfairly affect and characterize riders of color, leading to sweeping generalizations in media reports and a high level of racially insensitive commentary, the memo said.

Allen questioned BART Assistant General Manager Kerry Hamill about that explanation, saying I dont understand what role the color of ones skin plays in this issue. Can you explain?

Hamill responded that members of the media only wanted to sensationalize the story and were only interested in ratings and clicks.

If we were to regularly feed the news media video of crimes on our system that involve minority suspects, particularly when they are minors, we would certainly face questions as to why we were sensationalizing relatively minor crimes and perpetuating false stereotypes in the process, said.

Allen told Fox News she was disappointed to read the memo.

Race should play no role, she said. With respect to the video, I think it is important for the riding public to see some of the ways people steal and assault people on the trains.

Stapp appeared last week before the BART board to complain.

I think if you were truly committed to (public safety) there would be a lot more interaction with the public, like making the video available of these incidents, Stapp said.

Stapp is seeking to sue BART for $3 million for gross negligence.

Its the closest Ive ever been to feeling like I might die, he told Fox News.

Paul Justi, Stapps attorney, said BART should release the surveillance videos.

Others said there is a fine line between privacy and protecting the public.

We have a lot of videos in this district admitted Board Director Joel Keller. There is this balance between privacy and openness.

A decision on releasing crime video is expected next month.

This History Buff’s Take Down Of A ‘Political Correctness Gone Mad’ Tweet Is Everything We Needed Today – ELLE UK

We've all seen those silly trolls who cry 'political correctness gone mad!' at every instance of ethnic diversity.

'A black James Bond? That's political correctness gone mad!'

'A cartoon Rastafarian mouse? That's political correctness gone mad!'

'Actually asian actors playing asian roles? That's political correctness gone mad!'

You get the picture.

And however much you come back with an argument like, 'They are qualified for the job', or 'why not?', or 'we should strive for representation so our children feel they have more choice' or even 'because why does everyone have to be white all. the. time?'

Sometimes you don't quite have the data to back your opinion up.

Thankfully, every now and then, there is a nerd (we use this phrase very fondly by the way, we should all strive to be nerds) lurking, ready to debate their bums off and win you the argument on totally valid, factual, incontrovertible grounds. Huzzah!

In this case, it's the turn of notionally right wing writer and talking head Paul Joseph Watson, who has a website called Prison Planet. He posted a screenshot of a children's BBC show, depicting a cartoon family in Roman Britain.

He captioned the shot on Twitter, 'Thank God the BBC is portraying Roman Britain as ethnically diverse. I mean, who cares about historical accuracy, right?'

Whilst some of us might simply think, 'well yeah, I might actually prefer for my children to see ethnic diversity on their screens. I'm pretty sure this show doesn't include all of the details of Ancient Rome (washing their mouth out with wee, all the phallic art in Pompeii etc)'.

Others have appeared to agree with Watson, suggesting that a so-called leftwing agenda doesn't need to be pushed into every crevice of every media.

Well, before we had a moment to think about how to respond, Mike Stuchbery turned up in the comments.

Mike is a historian and someone who clearly takes his profession - and Roman Britain - very seriously.

Why Did Trump Ban Transgender People From the Military? – Newsweek

Posted: at 4:23 pm

Donald Trump announced on Twitter Wednesday that he would bar transgender people from serving in the military. In a series of three tweets, he claimed he consulted with experts and decided transgender people were a disruption and left the military burdened with the tremendous medical costs.

After consultation with my Generals and military experts, please be advised that the United States Government will not accept or allow Transgender individuals to serve in any capacity in the U.S. Military. Our military must be focused on decisive and overwhelming victory and cannot be burdened with the tremendous medical costs and disruption that transgender in the military would entail. Thank you, he wrote.

The Military Times reported in June that a directive from President Barack Obama that would allow transgender people to serve beginning this summer faced indefinite delay. On July 1, the Department of Defense officially pushedback thedate when the military would begin allowing transgender recruits to join the military.

The phrasing from Trump on Twitter would seem to suggest that not only is the president walking back Obamas policy to allow transgender people to join the military and serve openlythe former reality star is alsobanning transgender individuals already servingtheir country from doing so. Daniel Dale, a Washington correspondent for the Toronto Star, tweeted that Trump first delayed the implementation of the Obama policies and was now reversing the policy. Its estimated 15,000 transgender people already serve in the military.

But while Trump announced the policy shift on Wednesday, the change could also be the work ofVice President Mike Pence, who has long been criticized for taking extremely anti-LGBT positions. Foreign Policy reported Tuesday Pence and his staff had been working quietly to get Congress to roll back the Defense Departments year-old policy covering medical procedures for transitioning service members.

Foreign Policy noted that opponents of transgender individuals serving claim that medical treatmentsfor transgender individuals would cost$3.7 billion over 10 yearsbut studies show the cost would be between $24 million and $84 million over that time.

Trump has claimed to be an advocate of LGBT rights in the past, something many folks were calling into question Wednesday. The president has also previously spoken out against transgender people serving in the militarywhen asked about the policies in October 2016.

Were gonna get away from political correctness,he said. We have a politically correct military and its getting more and more politically correct every day.... Some of the things theyre asking you to do and be politically correct about are ridiculous.

Australia’s seniors say the political correctness of millennials is … – ABC Online

Posted: at 4:23 pm

Updated July 26, 2017 17:56:32

Older Australians are sick of the younger generation's manners, obsession with technology, punctuality and political correctness, which they say is ruining society.

That was the verdict on the nation's young which emerged from a study commissioned by the Australian Seniors Insurance Agency (ASIA).

Of 1,000 people aged over 50 surveyed by CoreData for the ASIA, 88 per cent thought people in modern Australia were too politically correct.

As well, 74 per cent of seniors said people who strived to be politically correct annoyed them, and 45 per cent said they tried to avoid being politically correct just for the sake of it.

And 86 per cent of those surveyed said the drive to be politically correct was ruining society.

Nan Bosler, president of the Australian Seniors Computer Clubs Association, said seniors found it difficult these days when it came to simple things, such as certain words they used day to day.

"Names we have known things by all our lives, they weren't there out of disrespect or anything like that, it was just a name we knew things by," she said.

"And if we have to always modify what we're saying, it's a little distracting, it's a little bit frustrating.

"We of course do respect other people, so we understand about political correctness.

"But we don't always think it's the way we want to go we want to be true to ourselves."

Ms Bosley said too much sensitivity about the meaning of words and phrases acted as a barrier between younger Australians and people aged over 50.

"I think we can just be too politically correct," she said.

"I suppose it's for the majority that the minority have to sometimes think well 'ok, can't say that anymore, I must remember that'."

CoreData also surveyed Australians over 50 about their views of millennials, which it defined as Australians aged 19 to 35.

The survey found 85 per cent of older Australians found millennial social etiquette confusing.

Ms Bosley said it worried her when she heard "younger people" in restaurants being rude to staff.

"That's probably our upbringing we were respectful to other people, and sometimes young people just don't do that," she said.

Respondents aged over 50 also said they were worried about young people spending too much time on their phones and online.

In fact, digital distraction and over-reliance on technology were two of the top five things that those over 50 thought were the biggest social taboos ranked after racism, smoking and swearing.

Mark Young helps older Australians navigate computers at a computer club in Sydney.

He said older Australians found the digital "distraction" among younger people frustrating.

"The grandkids come round and just spend their time on the phone and looking at that and not talking to them, and they have to kind of butt in in order to get a conversation going," Mr Young said.

"They don't like that, they think that's poorly mannered."

He explained how older Australians often felt pressure to sign up to social media networks such as Facebook.

"They feel kind of left out, that people won't interact with them if they're not on it, yet they don't really want to," Mr Young said.

"So there's the pressure there that they don't like."

Mr Young said for many older Australians, the pace of social change over their lifetimes had been a bit disconcerting.

And that, he said, was likely why such a high proportion of them who said they were worried about political correctness.

"I think that they're used to being able to talk to people that were like them, similar to them," he said.

"And therefore it was easy to say what you wanted to say because you knew the people would agree.

"But they're dealing with a wider range of people, more diversity and we're all taken in by the need to tolerate diversity these days.

"Whereas in the past Australia wasn't as diverse and we didn't have to think about things like gay marriage and stuff like that."

Rogers County sheriff discusses ‘politically correct’ culture | KTUL – KTUL

Posted: July 25, 2017 at 12:22 pm

It's a three page letter with a one sentence summary, political correctness has gone off the rails when it comes to policing (KTUL).

It's a three page letter with a one sentence summary. Rogers County Sheriff Scott Walton states political correctness has gone off the rails when it comes to policing.

"I guarantee you, the good, hard working people in Tulsa want to be protected, they don't want the cop that shows up, that's scared to death to do his job, because he'll be prosecuted," he said.

And Walton points out the recent Betty Shelby case as yet another blow to the confidence of law enforcement.

"When the deadly force decision is made and an officer has to use that deadly force, it shouldn't come with an immediate thought of, 'Now, can I withstand the prosecution of that?'" he said.

Walton says the group We the People helps spur an atmosphere of officer apprehension.

"I think it's the most close-minded group of people that exist," Walton said.

"It's unfortunate that he would feel, as if, that we're part of the problem," said Marq Lewis.

From Lewis' perspective, they're simply seeking accountability.

"I think what has happened in the past is that police officers did not have accountability, now we have social media, we have body cameras, we have accountability of people [who] are also watching the police, they're policing the police," he said.

"If you want to get into survival mode as a police officer, you'll be a lot less proactive and the old policeman will tell the young policeman, 'Look junior, if you don't want to get sued, prosecuted and do anything, you hide and wait, and if they call you, go take care of it with the minimum amount of effort and you'll save us all a lot of problems,' and that's pathetic because that's when it's a good day to be a thug," Walton said.

"Any time organizations are holding elected officials accountable, they're always perceived as a problem," said Lewis.

Trump to Boy Scouts: ‘We could use some more loyalty’ – CNN

Posted: at 12:22 pm

"I said, who the hell wants to speak about politics when I'm in front of the Boy Scouts?" Trump said.

Trump went on to dive into politics anyway -- blasting the media, pushing for the repeal of Obamacare and making a pointed remark about "loyalty."

Listing off the virtues of Boy Scouts at the West Virginia speech, Trump said: "As the scout law says, a scout is trustworthy, loyal," Trump said, before adding, "We could use some more loyalty, I will tell you that."

At the event, Trump also warmly recalled his victory against Hillary Clinton in the presidential election.

"Do you remember that famous night on television, November 8?" Trump asked.

He told the Scouts that Republicans had a tremendous disadvantage in the Electoral College and that the popular vote, which he lost to Clinton, "is much easier." He went on to tell the Scouts his victory was "an unbelievable tribute to you and all of the other millions and millions of people that came out and voted for Make America Great Again."

The Boy Scouts of America issued a statement in response to Trump's appearance on Monday, clarifying that the Scouts did not endorse Trump nor did the group support a particular "position, product, service, political candidate or philosophy," and that the group simply always extends invitations to sitting presidents.

It concluded, "the sitting US president serves as the BSA's honorary president. It is our longstanding custom to invite the US president to the National Jamboree."

Trump said many of his advisers were Boy Scouts, as were 10 of his Cabinet members. "Can you believe that? 10," Trump said.

Two of those former Boy Scouts and now-Cabinet members, Interior Secretary Ryan Zinke and Energy Secretary Rick Perry, joined Trump onstage. Secretary of State Rex Tillerson, who made it to Eagle Scout and was the group's president from 2010-2012, addressed the jamboree Friday.

Trump said several times the media would downplay the size of the audience at the Summit Bechtel Family National Scout Reserve, which the Boy Scouts in a news release prior to the event said they anticipated would be more than 40,000 people.

When Health and Human Services Secretary Tom Price came out onstage, Trump took the opportunity to mention an impending vote in the Senate that could mean the repeal of the Affordable Care Act, President Barack Obama's signature domestic legislation.

"Hopefully he's going to get the votes tomorrow to start our path toward killing this horrible thing known as Obamacare that's really hurting us," Trump said.

He went on to say that if they didn't get votes, "I'll say, 'Tom, you're fired,'" prompting laughter as Trump reached out to Price. He also told those gathered that Price needed to get Sen. Shelley Moore Capito, a West Virginia Republican, to support him on health care.

As he went through the speech, talking about the importance of scouting and the lessons the Scouts were learning, Trump continued to toss barbs at "the fake media, fake news," amid more traditional fare, with Trump remarking at length on the importance of scouting and the values one needs to live a successful life.

"As much as you can," Trump said, "do something that you love, work hard and never, ever give up and you're going to be tremendously successful, tremendously successful."

At one point, Trump made reference to Obama not having attended a jamboree.

"By the way, just a question, did President Obama ever come to a jamboree?" Trump asked, turning around and reaching out his hands.

And during this speech, Trump offered some of his classic talking points from the campaign, including one aimed at political correctness.

"Under the Trump administration, you will be saying 'Merry Christmas' again," Trump said.

CNN's Eugene Scott contributed to this report.

Politically Correct London is Becoming a Global Laughing Stock – Heat Street

Posted: July 21, 2017 at 12:21 pm

Ladies and gentlemen, I have an announcement to make: London is becoming a global laughing stock. Both intellectually and literally, Londoners are dying under the weight of a virulent dose of political correctness.

Last week, Transport for London pointlessly buckled to LGBT activists and banned the quintessentially British (and universally polite) phrase, ladies and gentlemen from its station announcements.

Its replacement good afternoon, everyone is deemed more inclusive and gender neutral, although even that might offend those with multiple personality disorders.

In a city that has recently undergone three terrorist attacks, this might seem like a curious use of resource for its Mayor, Sadiq Khan (pictured, main image).

But this is 2017, and whod be surprised if TfL went the whole hog and integrated Xe pronouns into its announcements, or renamed sexist Tube stations such as Cockfosters and Shepherds Bush? (They could re-name Seven Sisters station Seven Persons).

On Friday, this rot spread, when academics at Kings College London decided to swap portraits of its founders for a wall of diversity, after Professor Patrick Leman, the Institutes dean of education, claimed busts of white, bearded men were intimidating and alienating to BME students.

Some concluded any student who felt intimidated by a statue probably didnt deserve a University place at all.

We could discount these two hen-brained incidents as yet more political correctness gone mad.

But they are indicative of a London that perpetually looks down the wrong end of the telescope for micro grievances, yet lacks the guts to tackle very real problems that are staring us in the face.

This obsession with political correctness is not only turning London into a laughing stock, its actively killing Londoners.

The clearest example is the British Polices Stop And Search scheme. Designed to allow police to frisk suspects for concealed weapons, it has long been hated by critics as racist, who correctly point out that 65% of searches are on black men, who are six times more likely to be searched.

Sensing an opportunity to appeal to minority communities, in 2015, while running for London Mayor, Sadiq Khan vowed to do everything in my power to cut stop and search.

In the year to the end of March 2016, there were 387,448 stop and search procedures conducted by police in England and Wales, a fall of 28% on the previous 12 months.

In that same period, Londons Metropolitan Police announced that gun crime in London had soared 42% and knife crime 24%. Recorded crime was up across virtually every category, with a total 4.5% increase to nearly 774,737 offences.

Whod have thought a 28% drop in searches might result in a 24% boom in knife crime? Clearly not Londons Mayor. In one school in his city, 3/4 of ten-year-olds said they knew somebody who carried a knife.

So who is carrying and using all these knives?

British police dont like to publish crime by race or ethnicity. But when data has been obtained under Freedom Of Information Acts, its shown that in the City Of London, 36% of knife crime is perpetrated by black people, who only make up around 13% of Londons 8.6 million populace.

Furthermore, 24% of stabbing victims are black men.

You could conclude its reasonable to stop and search those most likely to be knife criminals. Surely, if black lives truly mattered to Londons Mayor, he would ramp up Stop And Search to help stop black men being disproportionately killed or jailed.

Instead, in April at the end of a week that saw eight fatal stabbings in the Capital, two less than a mile from my home Khan trumpeted his new 1.7m online hate crime hub.

Some wondered: does Londons Mayor seriously prioritise cutting nasty tweets over fatal stabbings?

Similarly, Khan has rejected Prevent, the British governments only anti-terror strategy, as toxic adding its seen by some communities as spying and snooping.

In the wake of the London Bridge terrorist attack that left eight ordinary Londoners murdered in the streets by ISIS jihadists, Khan took every opportunity to remind us Islamophobic hate crimes that included tweets had increased fivefold.

Ive lived in London for 23 years. Not only has its skyscape and its human landscape changed forever. So has its mindscape.

Today, we live in a city where racist statues, Islamophobic tweets and public transport announcements are deemed more pressing issues than tackling terrorism, knife crime or Londons latest malaise, acid attacks.

Ladies and gentlemen, the next train to leave London departs in five minutes. Ill see you at the bar.

How I wish the label Bobi were acceptable under parliamentary decorum, it would spice things up in the august House, surely.

Jim Mugunga is the spokesperson and Senior Public Relations Officer at the Ministry of Finance

By Jim Mugunga

As you read this, the self-styled ghetto president, Bobi Wine, is the new Member of Parliament for Kyaddondo East constituency. He is now Hon. Robert Kyagulanyi Sentamu, maximum respect!

How I wish the label Bobi were acceptable under parliamentary decorum, it would spice things up in the august House, surely. Kyagulanyi secured a landslide victory by ticking all the right boxes in as far as his electorate are concerned. During the campaigns, he ate, dressed and cried with the down trodden of the ghetto community just as he opted to sing, dance and give them hope as well as he agitated for their rights.

The simplicity of his message made him the darling of the majority. It was not about his dress code, his hair style or speech but about the issues he addressed and related to.

We are now able to see how Bobi Wine did this:

He stayed true to his beliefs. He is a grounded champion whose rise to popularity and celebrity lifestyle never changed him. He associated with his ghetto constituents and fully adopted their lingua. He rarely drunk or dined away from them. He did not embrace political correctness, in other words, he did not sugar coat his message but called a spade a spade. He opted for simplicity, fact and truthfulness. When his people tasked him to reach out to KCCA over excesses in evictions, he delivered a hit song, Tugambire ku Jennifer, a direct appeal to the KCCA executive director.

While the seasoned politicians opted for the politically acceptable lingua and persona as they rallied for votes, he did the reverse. They were rudely awakened to the reality that the electorate is tired of the existing party structures and the not-so-believable campaign stories. Their desperate attempts to stick to the same old lies and maintain the status quo left a sour taste in the mouths of voters.

So, Bobi Wine, realist and mercilessly truthful, emerged the winner. He defied the status quo and realised that it is now time for the straight talkers, the non-conformists and non-pretenders to move mountains. Individuals frowned upon in yester years, are now attracting the protest vote, from Trump in the US to Macron in France!

The conformists are of course rattled by the straight talkers. They are stuck in the old ways of believing that niceties, political correctness and talk of respect are the measure or epitome of civility. It is this standard by which they choose to operate and demand that all other politicians and public servants do the same. This is living in denial of the giant wave of change that the public is clamouring for.

Another victim of this outdated belief is Keith Muhakanizi, a no-nonsense straight talking rapid speaker whose forthright nature many mistake for arrogance.

Muhakanizi has diligently worked his way up from a junior job in the Ministry of Finance to now Permanent Secretary and Secretary to the Treasury. Since being mentored by the likes of Tumusiime Mutebile, Mayanja-Nkangi, and Gerald Sendaula, among others, Muhakanizi has been a key player in the Ugandan economy for over 30 years. It is during this period that the country has recorded phenomenal economic recovery, tilting real GDP growth towards the 10% mark at one time.

He is part of the core team responsible for ensuring a functional banking sector, restructuring state enterprises, to taming leakages and stopping subsidies. In the same period, they set up the modern securities exchange, reformed and resuscitated production, manufacturing, hospitality and corporate governance. He engineered and promoted re-tooling of old school public service with major reforms that emphasised re-skilling and training for a thriving workforce for the public and private sector in the region and beyond. He recently took the bull by the horns and reformed civil servants salary pay structures; as well pushed for adherence to the governments single account project.

Yes, he is evidently not your so courteous fellow as he goes about his business, especially as he delivers a message that the majority do not want to hear. The same style is reminiscent of a younger Kahinda Otafiire and the former Ministry of Works Permanent Secretary, Muganzi.

They all have one thing in common: brutal truth delivered in conviction. They study issues and with conviction attempt to outgun their opponents through interface. They do not use superiority to force them into submission but instead their opponents fail to engage intellectually and baptise the truth bearers as arrogant; a sign of the characteristic bad loser.

If one cannot find a suitable response to a position as advanced and instead becomes diversionary; that merely endorses the superiority credentials of the other party.

It is time we stopped wasting time by seeking niceties and we demand for performance. There is political correctness fatigue among the people. The population is yearning for issues to be addressed and services delivered. That Muhakanizi can face MPs and tell them about lack of funds for their next fleet of motor vehicles may not endear him to them, but it is the truth. That he can dictate terms to help pensioners gain their rights against a system that had stripped them of the same makes him a hero to the pensioners. They see performance and not arrogance.

The country is now ready for a Parliament full of truth tellers, ready to fight for others rights and not just seeking political correctness.

The writer is the spokesperson and Senior Public Relations Officer at the Ministry of Finance
