Controversial Hand At Table 519 | 2021 World Series of Poker – PokerNews.com

Posted: November 9, 2021 at 2:02 pm

Action picked up on the turn. Table mates recapped that the preflop action was Rafaelle Sorrentino raising to 1,000 preflop, Cole Ferraro and Michael Coombs calling from the cutoff and button. The big blind responded with three-betting to 7,200, which all the players called and the flop was seen four ways.

The flop came down and the action checked through to the turn where Sorrentino bet 9,400 and Ferraro called. Coombs responded by going all-in with the covering stack and the big blind folded. Sorrentino went into tank for three minutes before calling for his stack and Ferraro snap-called behind.

Cole Ferraro: Rafaelle Sorrentino: Michael Coombs:

Coombs had both the players covered, but needed to improve to a full house on the river to win. Sorrentino was drawing to a nine for a straight and Ferraro had the best hand with a made jack-high straight. The river was the and Sorrentino improved to the same straight and chopped the pot with Ferraro.

However, after the hand was finished there was some confusion about how much the dealer had pulled into the pot and after about 3 minutes, the floor was called. Play was halted at the table for roughly ten minutes while the table checked the surveillance tapes and eventually the stacks were counted out correctly and play continued.

Michael Addamo’s Rise in the Poker World – HighstakesDB

Posted: at 2:33 pm

The Australian Poker Pro, Michael Addamo had a pretty solid run this September. First, he managed to win the two final events where he scooped a total of $1.84 million. With these wins, he claimed the Poker Master title and won the purple jacket at the PokerGo Studio.

His words then were: Its been an incredible run of winning a lot of all-ins and Its just insane. In the series, he managed to win Event 11, which was a $50,000 No-Limit Holdem tournament, and he took $680k for his amazing performance. Then, he also won the final event which was a $100k No-Limit Holdem tournament. He took $1,160,000 from the final event only. As if that wasnt enough, he also got an extra $50,000, for finishing in the first place on the Poker Master leaderboard.

At the Poker Masters series, Addamo finished with a total of 808 points, and Nick Petrangelo was right behind him with 402 points. It was an interesting clash between these two poker legends because they were playing Heads-Up in the final event of the series.

But Addamo didnt stop there, instead, he won the $300,000 No-Limit Holdem Super High Roller Bowl for a total of $3.402.000. He was playing Heads Up against the poker pro - Justin Bonomo, who managed to win $1,890,000 for finishing in second place. He outplayed Bonomo in the final hand when he had a flush against the Bonomos two pairs. It seems that the PokerGo studio is his lucky place because if we do the math, we will come to $5.242 million in winnings only from these three events. That is what we call an epic run.

When Addamo was asked about his opinion on the three straight wins, he replied: Id say, Thats like a one-in-a-million chance or something ridiculous. Now, his carrier winnings are more than $13.5 million, and that is an impressive number for someone born in 1994th. He also has won two of the World Series of Poker events, meaning he has two golden bracelets. For his latest achievements, he is currently in first place on Australia All Time Money List.

One of the best hands that Addamo played last month was when he was playing a hand against Michael Zhang at the $250,000 Super High Roller Bowl Europe Main Event. He had Qh9h, against Zhangs AcKd. Zhang raised pre-flop, and Addamo cold called. The board on the flop came as TsTdTh, and Addamo checked. Zhang then made a bet, and Addamo returned with a 3-bet, after which Zhang called.

The turn card was 2 of spades, and Addamo took that opportunity to make a bet, which was again called by Zhang. Finally, the river card was Jack of hearts, and after a minute of thinking, Addamo shoved all of his chips with just Q high. Zhang didnt know if Addamo was bluffing or not, so he was forced to fold. To be honest, no one is sure if Addamo made the correct decision or not, we just know that he managed to win that hand of crucial value.

Now, Addamo is focused on his performance at the WSOP.

We Had A Full House For The Ace Of Hearts Poker Run! – WKRG News 5

Posted: at 2:33 pm

Over the weekend, WKRG News 5 and The Gulf Coast CW participated in the 5th annual Ace of Hearts Poker Run to help benefit the American Heart Association and yours truly was fortunate enough to come for the ride on the Mobile side of the Poker Run.

Our first stop was bright and early at 9 oclock on a beautiful morning at The Main Event Club in Theodore where registration was being held. I started off the day with a delicious breakfast that included bacon, biscuits and gravy, eggs, muffins and more! After I finished my plate, I ran into WKRG Meteorologist John Nodar who was participating in the Poker Run and had a conversation with him while he finished his delicious breakfast! After chopping it up with John for a little while, I decided to let him finish his food, to have a conversation with Vickie and Annie who run the Main Event Club as they were very excited to be a part of such a positive event that helps fight against heart disease. It is a cause that is near and dear to their hearts, which would explain their enthusiasm in participating in the Poker Run. After I gave Vickie and Annie a hug and a goodbye, I went to talk to Bridgette from the American Heart Association. You can tell her passion is in her work, partnering with communities to educate, research and to advocate in the fight against heart disease.

After having several awesome conversations at The Main Event Club, it was time for the kickstands to go up and to head out to our first official stop of the day at Greers St. Louis Market in Downtown Mobile, and if you havent made it to Greers St. Louis Market yet, I understand because its only a few months old, but I would implore anyone who hasnt been yet, to take the trip! Greers St. Louis Market is more than just a grocery store. Its a caf, a winery, a bakery, a place to order a hot meal, a grocery store and more! Fortunately for me, I was provided a tour guide as Jenny, a manager at Greers St. Louis Market, was kind enough to show me around their new store. I was impressed by the outdoor caf that is set up looking on to St. Louis Street, as you could see people young and old enjoying a nice coffee or meal outside on such a wonderful day. After observing the caf, we went upstairs to check out their rooftop, where you can also go sit and enjoy a meal. Now myself personally, I love a good rooftop. Theres just something special about being able to sit on top of the building looking over top of Downtown Mobile while having a meal or drinking a cup of Joe. Once I was done marveling over the rooftop, I went downstairs to check out the market side of things. This is where a delicious pepperoni pizza caught my eye that had just come out of the kitchen, and as many of you know, Im about as bad as a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle with my love of pizza! However, they had so much more to offer than just pizza, so I definitely suggest that you check it out for yourself! I walked around for a bit more as I checked out their selection, and I must say that I was impressed! Their meat selection is unparalleled, the rows of wine seemingly went on forever, and the pastries looked absolutely delectable!

Once again, it was time to get back on the road as this time we were in route to the 2nd official stop of the day; The Boot Store in Loxley. I was immediately happy when I pulled up because they were giving out doughnuts and hot dogs at the front door! Once inside, I was amazed by the sheer size of the selection that was housed inside of The Boot Store. I wanted to do a bit of shopping, so I walked around and saw that they had more than just an amazing selection of boots, but they had shirts, perfumes and cologne, hats and so much more! I tried on a few hats, and saw some really nice boots that I wanted to try on, but first I had a conversation with John Peppers who works as a salesperson at The Boot Store who went on to tell me that they have probably the most diverse selection in the southeast. Given what I saw at The Boot Store, I would likely have to agree! It was a fun time checking out all of the cool things that The Boot Store had to offer but it was once again time to hit the road to cruise on to our final stop before The Florabama; Wacked Out Weiner in Foley.

Ive got to admit, Wacked Out Weiner is one of my favorite places to go! The hotdog selection is pretty tasty, and their chili is a homerun every single time! My favorite hotdog is the chili dog that they make to perfection, even with the added corn chips on top! While everyone was chowing down on some delicious dogs, I decided to have a little bit of fun and turned myself into a giant talking hot dog! I had a brief conversation with the owner Jason, however, the hotdogs were so good that we just didnt have much time to talk because the line was out of the door! So, instead I had a good time taking pictures with my good buddy John Nodar and talking to all of the hungry motorcycle riders.

Last but not least it was time to arrive at The Florabama for our final stop where everyone who participated received their final playing card to see what their poker hand would be. The winning hand was four 6s, a very difficult hand to beat in any game in poker! The person who won the final hand was generous enough to donate his winnings to the American Heart Association. Even though the ride was over and the game was finished, there was still a party to be had, as we all jammed out to some blues and rock! On this day, WKRG News 5 raised $5,000 for the American Heart Association, and honestly, thats the most important part! That was why we were all there. Heart disease has affected all of our lives in one way or another, so to be able to do something for such a notable cause was reward enough for riding around the Gulf Coast on such a beautiful day and getting to eat at literally every stop! I had a great time at The Ace of Hearts Poker Run and if you didnt make it this year, I definitely suggest that you give it a try next year!

Mike Postle Tried to Enlist Two Other People to Help Him Cheat Claims Veronica Brill – PokerTube

Posted: at 2:33 pm

07:1230 Oct

Postlegate whistleblower Veronica Brill this week claimed that alleged poker cheat Mike Postle tried to enlist two separate people to help him cheat before the Stones Live Poker scandal.

Brill followed up by stating The Rio Amazon room is an incredible place, the main venue for the ongoing World Series of Poker apparently a hotbed of gossip, knowledge, and intrigue.

When quizzed as to why the players who were approached who havent been named didnt call Postle out, Brill replied:

Our extensive coverage of the Postlegate drama can be found below, but here is the tl;dr for anyone who has somehow missed out on the story;

Back to this weeks news that alleges Postle had previously tried to enlist help for his cheating plans, and that ties in with what his ex-wife, Sabina Johnson, claimed in an interview with Brill.

As well as somewhat vague accusations of online cheating, Johnson alleged serial scamming of hotels and casinos, as well as domestic abuse for which Postle was jailed.

Meanwhile, Brill was still in whistleblowing mood as she once again put Justin Kuraitis in the frame as one of Postles alleged helpers.

After the initial lawsuit against Postle, Stones, and Kuraitis was settled, Kuraitis launched a virulent public attack on his accusers, calling them social media mobs and internet bullies.

Kuraitis has since gone quiet, but perhaps Brills latest tweets will see him re-emerge to deny the accusations once again, or perhaps reveal further information.

If you have missed out on any of the drama surrounding Postle you can catch up below!

Phil Hellmuth far from satisfied with hot start to WSOP – Las Vegas Review-Journal

Posted: October 24, 2021 at 10:53 am

Phil Hellmuth packed what would be a lifetime of accomplishments for most players into the first three weeks of the World Series of Poker.

He made five final tables and extended his own record with his 16th WSOP title, giving him six more than anyone else.

But it was hard for Hellmuth to be satisfied after just missing his 17th when he finished second in a marathon final day in the $10,000 buy-in Dealers Choice event early Thursday at the Rio.

Its taken me a whole lifetime to learn to play all these games perfectly. Perfectly, he said minutes after his loss, as the clock neared 3 a.m. And then I get tired, I blow it, I dont take enough days off, I get emotional. And so Ive blown a lot of tournaments, more than anybody else on the planet.

Hellmuth has a first, second, fourth, fifth and sixth at this years WSOP, including a bracelet in the $1,500 No-limit 2-7 Lowball Draw. (The WSOP awards trophy bracelets for tournament victories.)

His 16th bracelet gave him even more breathing room on Doyle Brunson, Johnny Chan and Phil Ivey, who each has 10.

Beyond his accomplishments, Hellmuth serves as the face of poker to a worldwide audience, along with fan favorite and six-time WSOP bracelet winner Daniel Negreanu.

Phil is the greatest. I dont know how else to put it, WSOP vice president Jack Effel said.

Hellmuth has an almost gravitational pull when playing in the Amazon Room at the Rio Convention Center. At 6 feet, 7 inches, he towers over nearly everyone around him. His voice carries, whether laughing or complaining sometimes loudly and profanely about a bad beat from a competitor.

Hes a poker player, a celebrity and a NASCAR-style pitchman, wearing a hat promoting Bitcoin Latinum and working the energy drink Breinfuel into an interview. He seems to accommodate all fan requests for selfies and autographs.

A youthful 57, the Palo Alto, California, resident bounces around the room, greeting his supporters between hands and dancing with his headphones on during a tournament break. (He said on Twitter he was listening to the Bee Gees greatest hits.)

But in the end, it all comes down to results, and building a resume that he says makes him the greatest poker player of all time.

Thats why he was so sullen early Thursday after losing the chip lead heads-up to Adam Friedman, who created his own WSOP history by becoming the first player to win the same event three straight times.

Hellmuth blamed a lack of sleep. After a series of 10-hour days, he played more than 12 hours Wednesday into Thursday morning in the Dealers Choice finale.

I am exhausted, Hellmuth said. Its frustrating when you play perfect poker right until the end. I slipped a little bit there for a minute, but I really thought I was going to come back and beat him.

Friedman, a confident player and now four-time WSOP bracelet winner, said of his heads-up comeback: I simply outcarded Phil. Phil played great the entire time I played with him.

Amid Hellmuths frustration, he acknowledged the bright side of what he has already accomplished this year and what he could still do over the last four weeks of the series.

Ive never played this good before in my life, he said. I thought I was supposed to win 17, but I have time.

Hellmuth vowed to take some days off and recharge. Before he could head to his hotel room, one more fan came up to him and asked for a photo.

Phil, youre my idol, dude, he said.

Hellmuth stopped, smiled and posed for the camera.

And that vow of rest? Late Thursday, Hellmuth hopped into the $1,500 Razz.

Im on less than 4 hours sleep, completely exhausted, cant even see straight, blood shot eyes, and prob should NOT play, but I cant fall asleep, Hellmuth said on Twitter. Just sat down, hello Razz!

Former Premier league star Thomas Gravesen lives in Las Vegas, is believed to have a 100m fortune and… – The US Sun

Posted: at 10:53 am

WHAT a life!

When former Everton and Real Madrid hardman Thomas Gravesen hung up his boots at the age of 33, even he could never have thought retirement would've gone so smoothly.

13

Yet, 16 years since joining Real Madrid, the Danish international, who was famed for his tough-tackling that earned him the nickname 'Mad Dog', is now living a life of luxury in Las Vegas.

He is astonishingly said to have made around 100m from investments and playing poker since he last kicked a ball.

His riches mean that he lives in a mansion behind a private community, where his neighbours include the likes of Hollywood star Nicolas Cage and tennis legends Andre Agassi and Steffi Graf.

And if that's not all, Gravesen, now 45, has settled down in Sin City with a gorgeous Czech model... Jealous? You will be.

Gravesen didn't do too bad in the game financially.

In fact, at the height of his fame - playing at the Bernabeu - he was reportedly earning 85,000-per-week in 2005.

According to Danish tabloid BT, knowing he needed to plan for a life after football, Gravesen invested his wages into several financial businesses.

And luckily, the Dane struck gold - making tens of millions when many of his investments came through.

BT didn't say what Gravesen gambled his money on, but they revealed he took his dosh and ran... to Las Vegas!

13

13

13

With money in his pocket and dollar signs in his eyes, 'Mad Dog' went to Sin City to start a new chapter in his life at the age of 37.

And armed with a bank balance that would make your eyes water, he wasn't going to do it half-heartedly.

Danish tabloid BT claimed Gravesen took his newly made fortune to the casinos - where he enjoyed games of poker.

But, because he's not so well-known in the US, he was able to fly under the radar, and just appeared to be another high-roller.

13

13

13

One of the reasons Gravesen is said to have moved to America was because of the love of a good woman.

The man who once play-wrestled Ronaldo during training, knocking one of his teeth out in the process, fell in love with Czech-American stunner, Kamila Persse.

BT reported that he followed her to the States, they married, and the pair are said to love the Las Vegas casino circuit, as well as the clubs and bars.

Now 43, she regularly joins him in games of poker, blackjack and roulette.

A retired model, Persse has since taken up real estate, working for an established US firm.

The wealthy people of Las Vegas either live in a fancy penthouse at the top of a casino, or behind a private, gated community.

The latter is how Gravesen likes it, who clearly likes to have his privacy respected.

According to reports, Gravesen settled into Summerlin, an affluent area that lies at the edge of theSpring Mountains with Red Rock Canyon to the west.

National Geographic Adventure named it the number one place to live and play in 2007.

13

13

13

13

And with the area boasting residents with an average annual income of 120,000, you can imagine a property there doesn't come cheap.

Gravesen's home can be found behind the gated community of Canyon Fairways, which is surrounded by incredible golf courses, including TPC Las Vegas, Tournament Players Club Summerlin and Angel Park Golf Club.

Homes inside the compound can cost as much as 5m.

With his wealth and lifestyle, you can imagine that Gravesen is riding a tasty motor.

The biography, Mad Dog Gravesen: The Last of the Modern Footballing Mavericks claims he's been spotted driving a Mercedes SLR McLaren.

And carrying a price tag of almost 400,000, you can bet he's careful with it zooming along Nevada's freeways.

Only 2,157 Mercedes SLR McLarens were made, and each one was bespoke to the buyer's needs.

Able to hit a top speed of 208 mph, it also shows Gravesen's need for speed.

In 2019, 27 amateurs and 27 of the worlds best pros competed in the biggest buy-in event in history. Now, the Triton Million - A Helping Hand for Charity poker tournament is being released as a 10-episode series on Triton Poker's YouTube Channel.

A total of 54 players stumped up the seven-figure entry fee with 50,000 of each buy-in going to benefit 15 different charities. As a result, this saw 2.7 million going to a plethora of good causes as well as generating a staggering 54 million ($73,993,800) pound prize pool.

Here's a look at five of either the biggest or most interesting hands from the fifth episode, which can be viewed in full below.

The cameras joined the action with 96,000 in the pot and Paul Phua and Vivek Rajkumar staring at a flop. Phua, sitting on 177,000 and the in the small blind, moved all in with the drawing hand, and Rajkumar called with bottom set. The turn gave Phua the lead, only for the to pair the board, handing Rajkumar the boat and leaving the Triton founder without a seat.

With the blinds standing at 8,000/16,000/16,000, Elton Tsang opened to 36,000 from a starting stack of 326,000 with pocket deuces in first position, Bill Perkins called in the small blind with the off a stack of 531,000, and Poker Hall of Famer Bobby Baldwin came along for the ride from the big blind holding the and 935,000.

There were three to a flop of and something for everyone as Baldwin flopped top pair, Tsang found bottom set, and Perkins had them both manacled with top set. It was Perkins to throw the first chip into the pot, betting 25,000 once checked too. Baldwin raised to 125,000, Tsang called, and then both players called when Perkins moved all in for 503,000.

The turn and river ran out and , Tsang found his way into the London night air, Baldwins stack dwindled to 412,000, and Perkins became a force in the contest with a smidgen under a million.

With blinds at 10,000/20,000/20,000, Rajkumar looked down at the and opened to 50,000 from under the gun from a starting stack of 3,000,000, Chin Wei Lim called one seat over holding the and 1,900,000, and Perkins called from the hijack holding the and 1,6000,000.
