Ninja Slowrolls Boxer Ryan Garcia with the Nuts on Hustler Casino Live – PokerNews.com
Posted: June 24, 2024 at 4:52 pm
It takes guts to slowroll one of the best boxers in the world, but that's exactly what Twitch streamer "Ninja" did during Saturday's wild and crazy Hustler Casino Live.
The poker world hasn't been exclusively locked in to the 2024 World Series of Poker (WSOP) this weekend, not with the game taking place on stream at Hustler Casino in Los Angeles.
Celebs such as social media influencer Dan Bilzerian, NBA great Jimmy Butler, soccer star Neymar, and HCL fan favorite Alan Keating are all battling in what could go down as one of the best Hustler Casino Live shows ever. At the time of publishing, more than 22,000 were tuned in on YouTube watching the first two hours of the session. And a big part of why this show has become must-see TV is due to hands like you're about to witness.
Right off the bat when the cameras began rolling at just after 5 p.m. PT, the action picked up. Bilzerian, a former GGPoker ambassador with millions of social media followers, played a quick all in pot against his longtime friend, Keating. But the most entertaining hand through the first couple of hours was played between Garcia and Ninja.
The hand began with Bilzerian raising from under the gun to $300 with J9. Jon Vlogs called from the cutoff with A2, as did boxer Chris Eubank Jr. on the button with K9. Ninja, in the small blind holding 75 came along for the ride, and so did Garcia, sitting on 64 in the big blind.
When the flop came out 684, it created quite the action. Ninja checked the nuts, and then Garcia made a pot-sized bet of $1,500 with two pair. Eubank, Vlogs, and Bilzerian had nothing, so they all folded. But Ninja check-raised the minimum to $3,000.
Garcia, two months removed from pulling off a huge upset in the boxing ring, was feeling confident in his hand and put his opponent all in for $12,075 more.
Ninja, however, didn't snap-call with the nuts. He went into a brief tank, and Hustler Casino Live commentator Christian Soto was quite amused at the decision.
"This money might go all in. Here we go, snap. He's slowrolling him? He's slowrolling him! Garcia's dancing" an entertained Soto announced while Garcia stood up and danced anticipating winning a big pot. "Oh my god, he's slowrolling him."
After about a minute in the tank, Ninja announced "I call," followed by Garcia asking, "what do you have?" The dealer then asked the players if they wanted to run the turn and river once or twice, to which Ninja replied, "once, because I have the f*****g nuts."
There would be no karma for Ninja on the Q turn or A river, meaning the Fortnite legend would scoop the $31,650 pot. But Garcia has shaken that hand off nicely and was up more than $60,000 at the time of publishing, the most in the game.

RSI is Looking for Engineers to Help Finish Its BetRivers Poker Platform – Pokerfuse
Posted: at 4:52 pm
iStockPhoto
Rush Street Interactive (RSI) is looking to hire at least one full stack engineer to join its poker development team, presumably to work on the BetRivers Poker platform expected to launch by the end of the year.
The job posting is more evidence that Chicago-based RSI is moving forward with BetRivers Poker a new real money online poker platform that will go head-to-head with rivals BetMGM Poker, Borgata Poker, PokerStars, and WSOP in the US.
Players in Canada also have an excellent chance of seeing BetRivers Poker Ontario, and pokerfuse recently learned that RSI is making preparations to launch BetRivers Poker in Pennsylvania, even if its still a segregated market when it happens.
But the platform has to be completed first, with code writing and substantial amounts of testing still likely ahead.
To that end, RSI posted identical listings for a Full Stack Engineer position specifically for poker to European job boards serving Malta, Serbia, and two cites in Estonia: Tallinn (the capital) and Tartu.
Were building bridges between online, social and land-based gaming businesses to create amazing, integrated experiences that keep players in the game, RSI said.
For each job posting, the company said it was seeking a Full Stack Engineer to join our Poker team, where youll spearhead the development and maintenance of websites and micro frontends using React and TypeScript, ensuring seamless user experiences.
RSI is also looking for a Full Stack Engineer in Toronto, but for promotional content, not poker.
It wasnt clear when the jobs were posted or when they expire. There wasnt a deadline for candidates to apply.
While RSI remains tight-lipped about its plans for online poker, information about the vertical is released from time-to-time.
The last time the company said anything official about BetRivers Poker was May 1, the day it posted an investor presentation covering 1Q 2024.
One slide from that presentation bragged about the scalability of RSIs platform, which the company said was proven to increase retention and player values.
RSI said its platform supports iCasino, sports, social and poker, adding that it was licensed in 19 jurisdictions. Most importantly, that includes four of the member states of the Multi-State Internet Gaming Agreement (MSIGA), a multi-state gaming compact that supports online poker, plus Pennsylvania and Ontario.
The MSIGA states where RSI is licensed and could potentially launch BetRivers Poker in short order are Michigan, New Jersey, West Virginia, and Delaware where RSI will have a monopoly for online poker, through an exclusive igaming provider license with the Delaware Lottery.
According to the market analysis firm Eilers & Krejcik Gaming (E&K), RSI ranked as the No. 3 operator for online casino gaming, out of 15 operators total, in Pennsylvania in 1Q 2024.
That performance metric is important to note, considering that RSI currently appears to be preparing to launch BetRivers Poker in the Keystone State likely alongside a connected network that includes Michigan and New Jersey, the two biggest states in MSIGA.
Rush Street Gaming, an affiliate of RSI, owns and operates two land-based casinos in Pennsylvania. Geographically, the positioning couldnt be more ideal, as Rush Street Gaming has Rivers Casino Philadelphia (formerly SugarHouse Casino) and Rivers Casino Pittsburgh. Philadelphia and Pittsburgh are the two biggest cities in the state, creating fertile ground for cross-promotion between BetRivers Poker and the poker rooms at the land-based casinos.
Returning to RSI its performance in other online casino states was also impressive. According to E&K, RSI ranked fourth in West Virginia (out of ten operators), fourth in Michigan (out of 15), and sixth in New Jersey (out of 25). A ranking in Ontario was not available.
If the E&K metrics are accurate, that means RSI would have a large number of online casino players from which it could draw online poker players. That could help the company fill online tables on BetRivers Poker up faster, with excitement about the new platform only growing from there.
BetRivers Poker is based upon Run It Once (RIO), the online poker platform that RSI bought for $5.8 million in March 2022. The platform was originally a project of venerated online poker guru Phil Galfond.
Industry watchers have been eagerly awaiting a relaunch of the platform as BetRivers Poker ever since. So have players, especially those in Delaware, who lost access to legal real money online poker after RSI took over as the Delaware Lotterys exclusive igaming provider at the end of 2023.
RSI likely renamed the platform as BetRivers in order to align all of its igaming products. It ditched the SugarHouse brand in Connecticut and New Jersey for that reason, but kept the brand alive in Pennsylvania for online casino and sports betting. There is nothing to suggest at this early stage that RSI plans to roll out a product called SugarHouse Poker PA in the Keystone State.
SugarHouse Casino is also the former name of Rivers Casino Philadelphia. BetRivers Poker PA will likely operate under the land-based Rivers license in Pennsylvania joining Borgata Poker PA.
Had the platform retained the name Run It Once, it may have caused confusion with a poker training site of the same name thats run by Galfond.

Jimmy Butler Won Big At Celebrity Poker Event, But Was Clearly Not A Fan Of Suspended Boxer Ryan Garcia – Whiskey Riff
Posted: at 4:52 pm
Jimmy Butler is known as a tireless competitor on the basketball court, and that mentality translated well to the poker table during a celebrity event this weekend. The Miami Heat superstar was a big winner to the point where he was dishing out cash to fans by the end.
Preparing to enter the second season of a three-year contract that pays over $146 million, it aint like Jimmy Buckets is hurting for cash. Nevertheless, quite classy of him to hand out some big bills. The six-figure take-home pay Butler earned came at a cost, though. He had to sit next to Ryan Garcia, who was recently suspended for a year for a PED violation.
Garcia has a, um, big personality that Butler wasnt too keen to engage with beyond the bare minimum in the heat of a high-stakes poker battle.
When the two did engage in dialogue, it was clear Garcia wasnt a ball-knower at all. He couldnt even remember that Butler played for the Heat, instead alluding to where Jimmy began his career many moons ago with the Chicago Bulls.
At 25 years old, and as someone who makes a living by getting beaten to a pulp at times, Garcia is probably still reeling from the whole PED fiasco. He was just arrested a couple weeks ago for felony vandalism after trashing a hotel room. Not great looks all around!
It also happens that Garcia is a serial tweeter/X poster. Not a lot of goodness going on in his social media feed. Vitriol. Denial of taking PEDs.
The victory Garcia had over Devin Haney was considered a huge upset, but because of his PED use, the fight was retroactively deemed a no-contest, and he was forced to forfeit all $1.2 million of his disclosed purse, plus more millions in guarantees. The New York State Athletic Commission also ordered Garcia to pay a $10,000 fine.
So yeah, cant blame Jimmy Buckets for wanting little to nothing to do with this guy. Garcia comes across as the textbook definition of a loose cannon. You have to wonder what hes going to do now that boxing has been taken away for the time being. Im personally not too keen to follow up on him.
As for Butler, his future is a little cloudy but not in such a dire way as Garcias. Many believe the six-time NBA All-Star will be traded this summer.
At least for now, Butler has a little bit of extra cash to enjoy during the offseason, courtesy of his poker prowess and mental fortitude to endure Garcias insufferable antics.

Who is Leading the WSOP Player of the Year Race? – Tight Poker
Posted: at 4:52 pm
From Scott Seiver to Big Huni, Shaun Deeb to Phil Ivey, the race to become the 2024 WSOP Player of the Year is on. There is a 2025 WSOP Main Event seat, a unique trophy and the world-famous Player of the Year banner at the Paris or Horseshoe casino on the line, as well as bragging rights. Lets take a look at the players who have put themselves in pole position to win and who theyre looking to emulate in 2024.
Its no exaggeration to say that the current leaderboard (above) shows us the closest WSOP Player of the Year fight in many years. Six players are all above 2,000 points already and at the top of the tree sit players with multiple WSOP bracelets as well as many deep runs in previous POY races.
Marginally ahead is Scott Seiver, the only player to currently have two WSOP wins under his belt already this summer in Las Vegas. Seiver sits on 2,736 points and has already declared his desperation to conquer the Player of the Year leaderboard and get his flag on the wall of either the Horseshoe or Paris casino.
Chris Hunichen has won his first WSOP bracelet in this years WSOP and after conquering that High Roller, ran all the way to third place in the Super High Roller. A strong performance in the Poker Players Championship may well seal the deal for him if Seiver is unable to rack up huge points and those immediately below him dont pick up another bracelet.
Jeremy Ausmus already has multiple final tables under his belt and came second to Hunichen for that high roller crown after Big Huni hit a two-outer on the river to deny Ausmus victory. With 2,457 points, the six-time WSOP bracelet winner hasnt won his seventh yet, but if he does, watch out. John Racener (2,313 points) has been in the race before, losing out to Ferguson in a very famous year, while Phil Ivey (2,152) and Shaun Deeb (2,146) simply score so heavily that they have to be fancied.
Verdict: If we were to pick one player from this group of favorites, it would probably be Jeremy Ausmus. Consistently putting himself in the upper limits of the very highest events, his top 10 scores are likely to be incredible.
As you can see below, previous winners in the past decade (minus a year off for COVID) include Josh Arieh, Shaun Deeb and Daniel Negreanu. Controversy around players such as Chris Ferguson (2017) winning the award by min-cashing more events than most eventually led to rules now only allowing each players top 10 cashes in events rather than an accumulation of quantity over quality.
Here are all the previous winners of the WSOP Player of the Year.
Who might make a race for the line from the chasing pack behind the current leaders who all sit over 2,000 points? Well, it is impossible to look past the only Brazilian player in the top 10, Yuri Dzivielevski. Sat on 1,983 points, the impressive online poker legend has already won big at this years WSOP and seems to be a perennial fixture on Day 2s this year.
David Prociak (1,952) took several years to win his first WSOP bracelet before almost winning two inside a week. Hes the only player other than Scott Seiver to have led going into two final days of bracelets events and selling his action on PokerStake is likely to help him spread any variance and take the pressure off him on the home straight.
Robert Mizrachi (1,903) has snuck up on the rails a little this series, at least he had until he won Event #42, the Dealers Choice Championship for over $333,000. With seven cashes already, the mixed game specialist may well have the luxury of cashing more than 10 times, which means his lowest-ranked cash will consistently be improved upon.
Verdict: There are a whole heap of mixed games still to come and with Robert Mizrachi already having cashed seven times, this strengthens the hand of one of the most consistently successful mixed game players and bracelet winners of all time. Never count him out.
While anyone inside the top 10 places is obviously at an advantage by having more points on the board by the halfway stage of the Player of the Year race, a few legends hovering on the fringes of the top 10 are well in contention. PokerGO Commentator and now five-time WSOP winner Nick Schulman sits in 11th place on 1,890 points and is still a viable threat to the top table, playing and winning everything in recent years. With six cashes already, Schulmans record in big ticket events means hes a massive danger to those above him.
Schulmans 13th-placed fellow American Daniel Sepiol (1,803) already has seven live WSOP cashes and four online cashes this series. While three of those online cashes dont help him only one online cash counts towards your points total Sepiols consistency after winning the Shootout Event #23 for $305,000 is staggering. To win that event, Sepiol effectively had to dominate three final tables and did so, winning them all.
Swedish star Viktor Blom (1,800) is in 14th spot and with third place finishes in both the $50,000 and $100,000 High Roller events, is a huge threat if he continues to play well in the big entry events. Currently running well in the $50,000 Poker Players Championship, any outright win for Blom could make him unstoppable.
The same is true for Chance Kornuth (16th on 1,739 points) and Benny Glaser (26th on 1,589). Kornuth has been unlucky not to close one out yet in terms of the outright win, while Benny Glaser keeps reaching final tables in mixed games; hes likely to win one.
Verdict: Whoever puts on a good sprint for the line from the outsiders has a chance, but weve been so impressed with Daniel Sepiols dedication after winning his bracelet that he just gets the nod from us. The man is playing everything and playing each event very well indeed.
Whoever wins the race to become 2024 WSOP Player of the Year, one thing is for sure: youll never forget their face. With the winners flag to adorn either of the WSOP venues next year, the memories they make this summer will never be forgotten.

Is This One of the Most Absurd Poker Hands You’ve Ever Seen? – PokerNews.com
Posted: at 4:52 pm
The Saturday night Hustler Casino Live special celebrity game was bonkers one of the more thrilling nights of poker ever witnessed on livestreamed for those who love crazy action.
Out of the dozens of insane hands played between the wealthy athletes and social media personalities, one in particular stood out. And that hand, which you're about to witness, involved one of the most popular athletes in the world Neymar and Hustler Casino Live fan favorite Alan Keating.
Early in the session, which lasted about eight hours, Fortnite legend and Twitch streamer Ninja slowrolled boxer Ryan Garcia, a gutsy move that would make Shaun Deeb proud. Six hours later, that epic hand was topped in terms of entertainment value by one that fans of the show won't soon forget.
The hand began with a loose play as boxer Chris Eubank Jr. raised to $1,000 from an early position with 65. Ninja followed behind him with K10, along with Neymar and his 95. Keating, on the button with A4, three-bet it to $5,000 and received calls from all three players.
When the flop showed 92Q, only Keating, who had a flush draw, felt great about things in a four-way pot. At that point, it appeared the hand wouldn't go much further. But that turned out to be far from the case.
Action checked to Keating, who made a standard half-pot bet of $10,000. Ninja and Neymar called to see the 6 on the turn. The first two players checked, and this time Keating ripped all in having both opponents covered.
Ninja moved out of the way, but Neymar, a PokerStars ambassador, made a brilliant call for $74,400 with only second pair, which was actually the best hand.
Both players agreed to run the river twice, and the first one 3 went Keating's way. On the second run out 5 Neymar secured the other half of the pot. But then things went a bit off the rails.
Keating offered his opponent a third flip for $50,000 on the side each. The dealer then turned over the Q, giving Neymar the $100,000 side pot.
"One more for fifty," Keating offered, hoping to get his money back.
Once again, the dealer turned over a river card, this one the J, another $50,000 profit for the soccer legend. Keating wasn't done.
"One more time," he pleaded.
For the third straight time, the river J was clean for Neymar. But Keating wasn't ready to stop despite being down $150,000 on the hand. He wanted to flip again, to which his opponent happily obliged. And like the first three side pot flips, the 2 on the next try was good for Neymar, but the fourth flip was for $75,000 a piece.
Why stop there? Keating asked for yet another flip, this one for $60,000 each. He couldn't possibly lose again, right? Wrong. The fifth side pot river card was the 9, a brick again.
Keating then moved all in for $75,000 on one final flip, which turned out to be another brick 10. As Hustler Casino Live commentator Christian Soto said, "(Neymar) stacked Keating in flips."
If you're scoring at home, Keating, who had a flush draw with an over card, won the first river run out before losing seven consecutive rivers, including six side pot flips. In total, Keating lost $360,000 flipping against an international superstar.
When the show wrapped at around 1:30 a.m. Sunday morning, Neymar was the biggest winner in the game with a $306,000 profit, thanks to some fortunate river cards. Keating, as you probably guessed, was the biggest loser down $478,850.
Dan Bilzerian, who made his first public poker game appearance in years, booked a $24,000 win, but he was up more than $150,000 at one point. Ninja, one of the competitors in the legendary May 2022 Hustler Casino Live "MrBeast Game," lost over $90,000.

Watch: Intense-looking Jimmy Butler sits at high-stakes poker table with Neymar Jr. and Ryan Garcia – Sportskeeda
Posted: at 4:52 pm
Jimmy Butler continued his offseason by playing poker with football superstar Neymar Jr. and suspended boxer Ryan Garcia in Los Angeles. Butler has spent some time with Neymar the past few days, and both attended the World Poker Tour's Legend of the Felt event.
The event was streamed on Ninja's YouTube channel with a total of nine participants. Butler, Neymar, Garcia and Ninja were joined by boxer Chris Eubank Jr., social media influencer Dan Bilzerian, poker player Alan Keating, comedian-vlogger Jon Vlogs, and Pedro Velasco, who is close with Neymar and Butler.
Here's a clip from the livestream showing the Miami Heat star trying to keep his poise as Garcia did a lot of antics:
Jimmy Butler spent some time with Neymar and Pedro Velasco before the poker event. They drank wine, played footvolley and practiced poker yesterday, with Butler sharing all of it on his Instagram stories.
Jimmy Butler suffered a sprained MCL in his right knee in the Miami Heat's loss to the Philadelphia 76ers in the NBA Play-In Tournament. Butler hurt his knee after entangling with Kelly Oubre Jr. in a layup attempt in the first quarter. He played through the injury but was too hurt to appear in the final period.
Butler missed the Heat's next game against the Chicago Bulls, but it didn't matter. They advanced to the first round of the playoffs and were matched up against the Boston Celtics. "Jimmy Buckets" was unable to play for Miami as the Celtics won the series in five games.
With Butler playing footvolley with Neymar recently, it seems like he has fully recovered from the injury. A sprained MCL has a typical recovery time of four to six weeks, so he was likely cleared for contact late last month.
Jimmy Butler reportedly wants to sign a two-year, max contract extension with the Miami Heat. However, the Heat might not be inclined to give it to Butler because of his age. He will turn 35 in September, so a decline in play is certainly possible.
According to The Ringer's Howard Beck, rival executives are predicting that the Heat will trade Butler this offseason.

Mostafa Haidary Tears Through the Final Four to Win Event #52: $5000 6-Handed No-Limit Hold’em – PokerNews.com
Posted: at 4:52 pm
Mostafa Haidary has emerged the victor of Event #52: $5,000 6-Handed No-Limit Hold'em, capturing his first bracelet as the Australian resident defeated German Bernd Gleissner in heads-up play to the tune of $656,747.
This event had 817 entrants, and the field was speckled with professional players. A prize pool of $3,762,800 was generated, and 123 players from the field made the money.
PokerNews asked Haidary how he felt after winning and his plans for the remaining summer and he responded.
Im so happy! My plans for the moment are to play more poker and celebrate with my wife and kids, who are back home. Im appreciative to be here
Haidary reflected on his Australian poker-playing background and explained, We have a great poker scene. There are a lot of great players in Australia, and Im lucky to be one of them.
With the roaring crowd of friends cheering him on from the rail, Haidary emphasized that great moments dont mean anything if they arent shared with friends. His triumph felt so much better with the good friends that he has.
Haidary shared that there were three big hands where I bluffed for pretty much all my chips on the turn. All three of them went through. This is when he felt confident that he would win the event.
Finally, when asked for any closing remarks, Haidary noted, I just woke up this morning and said Im as close as it gets to winning. Everything went smoothly, so it was great.
Bookmark this page! All you need to know about the 2024 WSOP is here.
All of the action from the final table can be found in the Day 3 recap. Haidary found himself heading into Day 4 as the chip leader and would tear through the remaining players until heads up. Haidarys aggressive play and patience helped him to take down the event.
Only four players returned for Day 4, and the short stack of Brandon Schwartz found an early double-up through Gleissner. Shortly after Gleissner found a double through Krasimir Yankov to leave him as the short stack.
Living on borrowed time, Schwartz was the first to exit as he was left short when he moved all in with big slick and was out-flopped. He was all in the following hand with the majority of his chips in for the big blind and ante. He couldnt beat Haidarys button raise as he was sent home.
Yankov fell shortly after when he lost a flip against Gleissner. At the time, Haidary held a little over two-thirds of the chips in play.
Early into heads-up play, Gleissner found a double to take the chip lead. Haidary soon got revenge as he hit two pairs with a higher flush draw than Gleissners open-ended straight and flush draw.
Haidary now sat confidently with three-quarters of the chips in play. Not long after, Haidary won a flip against Gleissner to take down the event surrounded by his friends and fellow players.
This concludes the PokerNews coverage of the event, but there is still plenty more action to come at the 2024 World Series of Poker at Horseshoe and Paris Las Vegas so stay tuned for all your live coverage needs.

Dan Bilzerian to Compete on Hustler Casino Live Against Ninja, Neymar, & Keating – PokerNews.com
Posted: at 4:52 pm
Controversial social media playboy Dan Bilzerian has been added to Saturday's Hustler Casino Live stream that was already packed with celebs.
Two years after referring to poker players as "f*****g nerds," the former GGPoker ambassador will compete in a high stakes poker game at Hustler Casino in Los Angeles. And no doubt his presence on the livestream will bring about some criticism from some within the poker community, but also a substantial amount of viewers.
Bilzerian, often referred to as a misogynist including by some within the poker community, is a polarizing figure on social media. But he also has millions of followers on platforms such as X and Instagram.
On the felt, he's claimed to have won more than $50 million lifetime playing poker in nosebleed private games against celebrities and billionaires. Some have disputed that claim given there's no way for him to verify the results, but many believe what he's said to be true.
Bilzerian will be joined on the Hustler Casino Live felt by a number of celebs such as Twitch streamer Ninja, NBA star Jimmy Butler, boxers Ryan Garcia and Chris Eubank Jr., and soccer legend Neymar, a PokerStars ambassador. Hustler Casino Live fan favorite Alan Keating will also be in the mix.
The blinds in the game will be $50/$100 with a $10,000 minimum buy-in, but HCL co-owner Ryan Feldman said he expects every player to buy-in for at least $50,000.
Bilzerian doesn't appear often in public poker games, so this will give his fans and haters an opportunity to find out if his poker skills resemble that of which he claims. The wealthy Instagram influencer had some wonderful things to say about the poker community in June 2022 on the No Jumper Podcast.
"My goal with poker was always to play with people that were playing for fun," Bilzerian said. "I wanted to play with the rich guy that was playing for fun, not the guy that was trying to be a f*****g killer. I wanted to play against these rich guys that were going there to f*****g, like, blow off some steam, f**k with their friends, show a big bluff, f**k some massage girls, whatever, get out of the house from the wife."
"Most poker players are f*****g nerds," Bilzerian told Adam22, who is also a poker enthusiast. "I don't really hangout with that many of them, I don't really want to associate with them. I shut most of them out of my f*****g games. I never really let pros in."
Bilzerian was referring to the modern high stakes pros. He won't be facing those players in the Hustler Casino Live game on Saturday. Instead, he'll be playing against a roster full of recreational players, which should be more to his liking.
Viewership for the aforementioned stream should be up given the lineup, one that could rival the famous "MrBeast Game" in May 2022, which had over 100,000 concurrent viewers across all platforms, still a poker livestream record. Hustler Casino Live is fresh off the Million Dollar Game week earlier this month, which attracted 30,000+ concurrent viewers for much of the four shows.

WSOP 2024: Super High Roller hand leads to an awful bad beat – For The Win
Posted: at 4:52 pm
Going all in with a pair of 10s in a poker tournament is risky as heck, but when youre among the five players left in a World Series of Poker event, sometimes its not that bad.
And then this happens, and its all heartbreaking. Lets break it down.
In the $250,000 Super High Roller event, Charles Hook went all-in with 10s and eventually, Ben Tollerene called with his Ace-King offsuit. Tollerene was the chip leader at the time, so he could spare the 13.5 million it cost.
The flop was 2-4-2. That helped Hook, because that gave Tollerene just six outs. But then the turn show another 2. That gave Tollerene one more out to win another 2, giving the two of them four of a kind, but Tollerene would have the best fifth card with an Ace.
Guess what showed up on the river? Yep. You guessed it. A 2.
OUCH.
Hook ended up with over $1.2 million for his troubles, and Tollerene would eventually finish second.
