Robbie Power, Grand National winner and rider of Poker Party in Saturday’s big race says you need luck on your side to win the Grand National – Past…
Posted: April 11, 2022 at 6:18 am
Who are you siding with for the Grand National at 5.15pm?
I think last years winner Minella Times will find it very difficult this year with the big weight on his back. Delta Work was back on form with a cracking win in the Cross Country Chase at Cheltenham. That race is often key for the Grand National and thats good form.
My own ride Poker Party has a lot to find on form this season, but he is a Kerry National winner, stamina shouldnt be an issue and the ground would have been against him in the Cheltenham Cross Country on his last start. With decent ground at Aintree, he may have a decent each-way chance.
Discorama has been trained with this race in mind, he was 6th last year and he had a decent run the last day at Fairyhouse when 2nd over 3m. Hes going in a bit fresher this year and Paul Nolan knows how to get one right for the big day. For someone looking an each-way bet, I think hes overpriced.
Escaria Ten ran a cracking race in the Bobbyjo Chase when just touched off by Any Second Now, who was unlucky in running last year.
If Fiddlerontheroof got his jumping together he could be a big, big danger. Id have thought stamina wouldnt be an issue, but he didnt jump very well at Ascot the last day and if he doesnt get into a good rhythm, itll be difficult. For that reason, Im going to side with ESCARIA TEN.
How much of a Grand National success is down to luck and how much depends on the horse you ride?
The Grand National is the race we all want to win, and I was lucky enough to win it on my second attempt.
I think, because I won it so young, I now realise how lucky you need to be to win a Grand National and how much you need things to go your way on the day.
I completed on my first start, in 2005, and won it on the second ride in 2007 thats 15 years ago. Ive had at least 10 or 11 rides in the Grand National since, so I know how much luck is required to win a Grand National.
You can always think every year you have a horse for the Grand National, but theyre unique fences and if your horse doesnt take to them, you know by the time you get to Bechers Brook the first time whether or not my chance is gone, or Im going to struggle to get around here, or my horse isnt really enjoying this. You kind of know your fate pretty early on in the Grand National, as to what kind of chance youre going to have in the race.
Are the fabled Grand National fences as fearsome as they once were?
I think the modifications have taken that fear away a little bit, but Bechers Brook is still a daunting fence.
Fence number three in the Grand National is a great big ditch and that kind of sets your tone for the race.
Before the modifications, when I first rode over the National fences, the jump at Bechers was an awful lot bigger and youre inclined to keep well away from the inside of it because the drop was much bigger in there. But thats been modified and it does make it an awful lot easier you can chance more on the inside of Bechers at not as high a risk, but its still a big fence and it still commands plenty of respect.
Is your daughter still a fan of daddy or have you lost out to Rachael Blackmore?
If I win a race now she thinks that Rachael [Blackmore] mustnt have been in the race. Shes definitely more Rachael Blackmore than Robbie Power!
What is the atmosphere like in Liverpool during the Grand National?
Aintree is just an unbelievable atmosphere the Friday and Saturday, especially.
The atmosphere there is just second to none the Liverpool people really get behind the Grand National, and everywhere you go in the city a couple of days before Aintree its are you riding anything in the Grand National? Have you a chance? Everybody gets involved and has a punt.
I think this year, more than any other year, the atmosphere is going to be second to none because the people of Liverpool have missed two Grand Nationals 2020 was cancelled and 2021 was behind closed doors. So, its the first Grand National since 2019 where people are able to go and watch it. I think this year the atmosphere is going to be extra special.
I think you just feed off the whole buzz of the week. I fly over on Thursday and as soon as you arrive you can feel the buzz around the city about the Grand National. Everybody is talking about the Grand National, although they are playing Man City in a crunch game, on Sunday until the Grand National is over on Saturday, all everyone is going to be talking about is the Grand National.

Robbie Power 2007 Grand National-winning jockey with Silver Birch
We caught up with Robbie Power, Grand National winner and rider of Poker Party in this years big race on behalf of BoyleSports latest horse racing betting to run through a day in his life on the biggest race on the planet, as well as getting the inside track on the unique Liverpool atmosphere and how the Reds fan is feeling ahead of their crunch clash against Man City.
The Grand National is important Man City v Liverpool is more important, right?
Yeah, it is actually its fantastic. Theyve moved the game as well, it was supposed to be at half [past] five on Saturday which would have clashed with the Grand National so it made sense, because I think every Liverpool fan will be watching the match on Sunday, so the Grand National is the perfect appetizer for the game on Sunday.
Im not going to the Etihad [stadium], Ill be back home in Ireland with a front-row seat on the couch to watch the game.
Did you manage to tip your 2007 winner to any locals?
Yeah, actually the year I won the Grand National the cabbie was asking me what I was riding and I told him, and he said Im stopping now on the way home to back it so I hope he did! I didnt get the same taxi back to the airport, but I hope he did.
Everyone in Liverpool gets involved and if Im in a restaurant having a meal or something, I think whoever serves me will probably back me in the Grand National. The same as if Im in a taxi going out to the racecourse, that taxi driver is probably going to have a few quid on me in the Grand National and thats what the race is all about, everybody has their fancies for the Grand National and as weve seen time and time again, anybody can win the Grand National.
Was winning the Grand National a childhood dream come true?
From the moment I started to have thoughts about being a jockey, the Grand National was the race I always wanted to win.
I was actually born in 1981, and the first horse I sat on was a horse called Aldaniti, who won the Grand National in 1981. He stayed in our yard when Bob Champion was doing a tour for cancer. Bob brought Aldaniti around the racecourse in Ireland and stayed at our place the first ever picture of me in the house was of me sitting on Aldiniti as a ten-year-old champ. So that was the first Grand National winner I ever rode.
Every year, from the start of the season, youre thinking this could be a Grand National horse, or what can I have for the Grand National. Its not something that starts the week before, its something that builds up from the start of the season, with what horse can I get on for the Grand National.
How does your day-to-day visit to Liverpool look?
I fly in on Thursday and stay in a hotel outside of Liverpool. I dont really make plans for Thursday evening as its almost straight to bed when I get in, check into the hotel and straight to bed.
I ride in the Topham Chase on Friday, which is a nice warm-up for the Grand National, it gives you a feel for the fences the day before which can be a good thing, or a bad thing, Im not sure which.
Friday evening again, its pretty quiet myself and a couple of the other lads might go for dinner somewhere and thats it then, its quiet enough. Just looking forward and studying through what your plan is for the big race the next day.
Well all walk the course, nearly every jockey that rides in the Grand National will walk the course. Ill walk it before the Topham [Chase] as Im riding in the Topham and then I wont walk it again after that. Youre walking more to check out the ground for your horse and find where the best ground on the track is, more so than anything else. Its very straightforward to find your way around the Grand National just knowing what fence is coming next is quite important as well.
With the big race at 5.15pm does the day seem longer than a usual race day?
I actually find the day itself quite painful. We have to be at the racecourse for 12 oclock, to have a briefing about the Grand National, which is something I think is totally unnecessary for professional jockeys. I think, if they want to do a briefing, it should be done the evening before because having riders there from 12 oclock, the Grand National is quarter past five, I actually think it makes riders more anxious an awful lot sooner than it needs to be. Its not something you can do, you cant pull out to the racecourse at 12 oclock and then go back into your hotel and rest for a while.
It makes no sense to me having that briefing at 12 oclock on the day. Why dont they have it an hour before the race, or the evening before, so the jockeys can go home from the briefing and relax. Its not ideal the Liverpool players wont be at the Etihad at 12 oclock before a half four kick off on Sunday will they?
Does showing your horse the first fence really make a difference?
I dont think so. I think its something mentally that you do, I dont think it makes any difference showing the horse the fence. I just think its a thing that was done years and years ago and it has never changed I dont see that it makes any difference at all.
Its kind of a superstition if you dont go down and show your horse the first fence and you fall, then you say I should have shown him or her the fence.
I dont think it makes any difference at all.
What is your prediction for Sundays game between Man City and Liverpool?
I think it will be a draw 1-1 which I think will be a good result for Liverpool as long as they dont lose.
Its a game that both teams dont want to lose, so I can see a draw, but I hope Im wrong and I hope its 2-1 to Liverpool.
Tramore will be getting a wide berth on Sunday!

Michigan is Joining Interstate Poker Compact: 10 Things US Online Poker Players Need to Know – Pokerfuse
Posted: at 6:18 am

The Nevada, Delaware, and New Jersey regulators have approved Michigan to join the Multi-State Internet Gaming Agreement (MSIGA).
Put in its simplest terms, this means that soon the three Michigan online poker rooms PokerStars MI, BetMGM Poker MI and just-launched WSOP MI will soon be able to connect with their regulated online poker rooms in New Jersey. For WSOP and its partner 888, this also opens it up to joining WSOP MI to its tri-state player pool comprising NJ, NV, and DE.
Players in these four states will see traffic double. More cash games will run. There will be more variety, and more games running off-peak. Sit and gos will pop off faster. And multi-table tournaments will see guarantees soar. Expect Sunday Majors to double in size.
With all that said, this development likely leaves players with a lot of questions. Our free, in-depth guide below aims to answer all of these in one place.

Two things still have to happen before Michigan online poker sites can combine liquidity with their poker sites licensed in other states. First, Michigan needs to sign the agreement. Second, each operator in Michigan needs to be approved for multi-state poker by the Michigan Gaming Control Board (MGCB).
Thankfully, these could be completed quickly. MGCB said before that it had every hope of joining and was only waiting for the approval from other states that approval has now come and there is no reason to believe they wont sign immediately.
As to the second point, operators were told back in March what they needed to do to get their operations ready for the MSIGA. There is nothing in that document (below) that should be a sticking point for operators.
Expect PokerStars, WSOP (with partner 888), and BetMGM (with partypoker) to all aggressively pursue this all will benefit greatly connecting Michigan with their New Jersey operations. It should happen in days or weeks, not months.
Adding Michigan into the existing player pool of Delaware Nevada, and New Jersey almost doubles the existing network size to 22.9 million.
On Day One, only WSOP/888 will have access to this entire four-state population. However, BetMGM is also expected to launch in Nevada. PokerStars will be restricted to just MI and NJ but, even so, the change for all existing US online poker operators will be transformative.

If you are in Michigan, Nevada, or New Jersey and have yet to sign up for an online poker site, there is no reason to sit and wait for this agreement to be finalized. Sign up for an account today (and take advantage of some great welcome bonus offers), deposit, and be ready for when the flood gates open.
You can read pokerfuses honest, in-depth guides to understand the ins and outs of all the operators currently live in your market, compare bonuses and rewards programs, understand the differences between mobile apps and desktop apps, plus a whole lot more.
We also have guides for all major US online poker operators, which take a look at the common features across all states it has a presence in.
Right now, PokerStars Michigan and PokerStars New Jersey each average approximately 100 concurrent cash game seats, based on a 24-hour average (data tracked by GameIntel and provided by Poker Industry PRO Data). When combined, traffic at both will double overnight. With the network effects of an increased player pool, we can only expect things to climb higher.
Players in New Jersey should see particular benefits from Michigan joining the MSIGA. PokerStars has curiously taken its foot off the gas in the NJ online poker market, allowing itself from a market-leading position to the bottom of the pack. It rarely runs promotions and is happy to put on the same tournament series, letting WSOP/888 with its advantage of a connected Nevada player pool grab all the headlines.
Combining the two will bring renewed vigor and we can expect PokerStars to seek to regain a leading market position. While still not on equal footing with others it is still locked out of Nevada due to being labeled a bad actor and its disadvantage will be relatively reduced.
Theres no question that BetMGM, with its partypoker partner, will also seek approval in Michigan for interstate play.
It has an existing online poker network in New Jersey, powered by the partypoker US Network and combining the players of Borgata NJ, partypoker NJ, and BetMGM NJ into a single player pool. Soon, this network will connect with BetMGM MI.
These two discrete networks also each have 100 players, which will immediately double to the north of 200, putting it on equal footing with PokerStars. Again, network effects should only help this growth, giving them the latitude to increase weekly and Sunday MTTs by more than double and put on big seven-figure tournament series.

This network should grow again with the addition of Nevada. Back in early March, pokerfuse exclusively reported that there were signs that the company was readying to finally launch in the state.
Parent company Entain received a three-year interactive gaming license extension last summer. It has been looking to expand its poker staff in Nevada.
The one thing holding it back was the status of cross-state shared liquidity. The expansion of the MSIGA puts this final concern to rest.
WSOP and its US partner 888 only launched in Michigan last week. Whether just surreptitious timing or because the operator knew that Michigan would soon be joining in MSIGA there were clear signs of progress is unknown, but it certainly puts the pair on a great footing for this weeks development.
It has a lock on the small Delaware market, thanks to a partnership with the only licensed online gambling providers its three racinos. It also has a de facto monopoly in Nevada, at least for now.
WSOP and 888 will also be the most prepared for gaining approval from the MGCB for multi-state online poker play, given that it is already operating under the MSIGA. Adding a fourth state will require very little preparation with one exception:
When WSOP launched in Pennsylvania and Michigan, it did so with 888s new Poker 8 software. The platform is a complete overhaul to the online poker experience, improving the desktop and mobile experience on all platforms.
Inexplicably, the operation in New Jersey and Nevada remains on the decade-old Poker 6 platform.
This needs to change. On a technical level, it might be possible to combine player pools on Poker 6 and Poker 8 (the back-end system that powers the network may work with both), but the experience is inferior. Players in New Jersey, when presented with better offers a double-sized PokerStars with nex-gen software, a three-state network at BetMGM are going to defect in droves.
If there was a time to make the upgrade, it was probably weeks ago when it was apparent that Michigan was progressing with its MSIGA application, but it is still not too late to make this upgrade ahead of Michigans formally joining.

All this combines for what is going to be a huge spring and summer period for US online poker without doubt, the largest in regulated market history.
Assuming that Michigan opens up in time, WSOP will want to celebrate with a huge online bracelet series. Notably, it has already released its online bracelet schedule for New Jersey and Nevada, with events starting on June 5.
Thats two months away and Michigan could certainly be part of the pool by then. If so, we can expect these tournaments to have huge turnouts, and, indeed, the schedule could be expanded. Notably, WSOP has not announced any online bracelets for the Michigan market perhaps hoping to be able to connect it up by the summer rather than run it separately.
The other operators will naturally want to compete as well. PokerStars wont have time for a combined {n:217345-pokerstars-scoop-2022-everything-you-need-know/:SCOOP US that is already running} but they could well run a special celebratory tournament series, or, at least, put on a super-sized Summer Stacks series.
BetMGM has been making a name for itself with branded tournament series too, and with former PokerStars Head of Poker Operations Luke Staudenmaier at the helm, we can expect some fireworks there too.
After Michigan joins the pact, there will be three states that could also join the MSIGA Pennsylvania, Connecticut, and West Virginia. All three have legal online poker, but only one has actually attracted operators. As of yet, none have started proceedings to join the MSIGA, but this development could prompt them to seriously reconsider.
Pennsylvania would be the biggest addition to the multi-state partnership. It is the largest state with regulated online poker and boasts three networks and four brands. The regulator has told pokerfuse in the past that it still wanted more clarity around the Wire Act to proceed forward that clarity might come with the pending IGT lawsuit.
It also might come implicitly with this Michigan development a clear signal that a respected peer considers the Wire Act is not a concern to proceed with legal, safe cross-state online poker.
Connecticut and West Virginia have, so far, attracted no online poker operators, as their states are too small without shared liquidity. Connecticut only permits three operators though a PokerStars CT is possible through FanDuels license.
West Virginia is even smaller in terms of population, so the only chance of attracting regulated sites is through the MSIGA, but that looks to be in the cards pokerfuse exclusively reported last summer that it was investigating the possibility of joining the pact and the Michigan development should provide further impetus.
With all that said, the timeline for Michigan to get this far should dampen any excitement of this proliferating fast. The first Michigan online poker rooms launched over a year ago and it was quick to pass a new law permitting cross-state play. It has taken this long to get this far and steps still remain.
Everything is now on the table, but patience is still warranted.

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) A grand jury has indicted a 23-year-old man jailed on charges of theft in a bitcoin scheme.
Filippos Liakounakos was arrested on March 28 and charged with theft, identity theft and a felony act involving email/electronic transactions of computer data. His jail records at Clark County Detention Center indicate his bail is a total of $250,000.
Liakounakos is accused of stealing a $500,000 from a novice cryptocurrency trader in late 2020.
A Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department warrant, describing the investigation, indicates police identified Liakounakos as a suspect when he made contact with the victim after the initial theft, possibly to set up another transaction.
Since his arrest, Liakounakos has been the subject of discussion on several professional poker websites. Posts on the sites indicate Liakounakos is known in the poker world, but hasnt had any significant wins to his name. He has reportedly competed in a World Series of Poker event.
Other reports indicate he was involved in a dispute with another poker player that ended in Liakounakos paying the player to resolve the conflict.
His defense attorney, Josh Tomsheck, did not return a call requesting comment Thursday.
Liakounakos is scheduled to appear in court on April 13.

Best US Online Poker Sites: Detailed Guide to Legal Online Poker in the US – Pokerfuse
Posted: at 3:50 am
Are you a US online poker player looking to play your favorite game on the virtual felt? You have come to the right place as we offer you a complete overview of the online poker industry in the US and all the legal poker sites and apps where you can play best online poker games.
Online poker has been in the US since its very inception, but in 2011 all the major operators were banned from the country for failing to respect the ambiguous laws and regulations in place at the time. It took a while, but in 2013 the first 100% legal and regulated online poker sites launched in Nevada, Delaware and New Jersey.
Today, regulated US online poker sites are available in several states.
In this guide to online poker in the US, we bring you a full list of states in which you can play online poker, the operators which you may have access to, and everything else you need to jump right into the action.
Keep reading to find your way to the best online poker sites in your state where you can feel safe playing poker for the first time since the Black Friday.
Online poker is booming in the US, with new operators entering the market every year. Here is the list of the online poker operators that currently offer legal online poker within US:
Poker players in the US are presented with many options to play the game online, with both legal and illegal offshore sites offering their services. Of course, we always recommend playing at a regulated poker site for many different reasons.
Here are the main things you should look at when picking the online poker site to play at:
Are you interested in playing online poker in the US and are looking to set up your first account? Here are the general steps you will need to follow to get started as an online poker player in the US.
With so many different operators out there, and many advertising to be the best US poker site, how can you actually be sure which sites are regulated and which are not? Here are a few things to look out for in your pursuit of a legal place to play online poker:
Since online poker sites are still so few and only available in a few states, you may be wondering why you should go through the trouble of finding one. After all, you have heard of people playing at offshore sites and having a decent enough experience. However, there are clear advantages to playing at regulated poker sites, and here are a few of them:
Regulated US online poker sites offer some of the biggest and most lucrative bonus offers and promotions in the world. As the sites compete for traffic and new players, welcome bonuses have never been juicier and players can benefit from a host of valuable promotions and reload bonuses as well.
The first thing to welcome players at practically every regulated US poker site is a welcome bonus. Often worth as much as a $1,000, welcome bonuses are a great way to start building an online poker bankroll in the US.
Online poker bonuses are generally issued to players as a form of rakeback, which means you will have to play real money games to get your hands on the bonus. As you play real money poker and accumulate loyalty points, your bonus will be released in increments of 5%, 10%, or more. In either case, expect a high return on any rake paid while your welcome bonus is active.
While getting a welcome bonus when you make your first deposit is a common practice around the world, no deposit bonuses have been less common outside of the US lately. At US poker sites, however, you can get some free cash or tournament tickets at most sites just for signing up.
These no deposit bonuses are given to every player who signs up as a chance to try playing real money poker without any real risk and a great opportunity to explore the site. If you live in a state where online poker is legal, you should look into the no deposit offers that are available.
Another great way to benefit from playing real money online poker in the US is through the various loyalty schemes and programs that the operators have in store for you. Loyalty points are awarded based on how much you play and the rake you pay, and they can be converted into cash, bonuses, and other real rewards.
Make sure you understand the loyalty scheme of the site you plan on playing at before you commit any significant funds to it. After all, the difference between a good loyalty program and a poor one can be a very big factor in your bottom line.
Live poker is available across the country and no matter where you live there is likely a live poker room close to you. Now that online poker is also becoming more widely available, lets weigh the pros and cons of playing at online poker sites and figure out what advantages you may get from playing online poker.
The history of online poker in the US is as long as the history of online poker worldwide as some of the first operators launched in the US at their inception. Here is how we got from there to here in a few simple footnotes.
The one thing US players have been dreaming off since 2011 is a shared liquidity pool in which they could play poker against other players from all over the US.
Recently, the DoJ decided it would not appeal the Supreme Court decision which stated the Wire Act only applies to sports betting, which now opens the door for online poker sites to share their liquidity between different states.
With many sites already operating in multiple states, it is only a question of time before the likes of PokerStars, WSOP.com, and partypoker will start sharing liquidity between their various sites.
With interstate poker finally looking likely to become a reality in the near future, the months and years ahead should be very exciting for all US players who have been waiting to experience the full scope of online poker they were used to in the pre-Black Friday era.
Yes, online poker has been legal in the US for almost a decade now. However, the game is not regulated on the federal level. States have the right to pass their own online poker laws and so far, only a handful of states have regulated online poker in the US, namely Nevada, New Jersey, Delaware, Pennsylvania, Michigan, and West Virginia.
You can sign up with any US poker site by visiting the operators page and filling in the required details to open your account. While its possible to sign up from pretty much anywhere in the US, you should keep in mind that you will only be allowed to play for real money while physically present in the state where the particular room is regulated. So, for example, you can only play on PokerStars PA while in Pennsylvania.
Every state has a body in charge of licensing and regulating poker sites and other forms of online gambling. US online poker sites are regulated on the state level and there is no overarching federal body that would oversee their operations.
The best way to know if an online poker site is legal in the US is by checking out their licensing information. This info is available on the page, usually in the footer, and it clearly indicates what organization is in charge of licensing and regulation. In New Jersey, for example, this would be the New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement (NJDGE).
On top of this, regulated US sites are owned by well-known companies and do not cater to players from the entire country but rather from the individual state where the operator is licensed. Licensed US poker sites also do not accept bitcoins.
There are several major operators present in regulated US online poker markets in the country, including PokerStars, WSOP.com, BetMGM, Borgata, and partypoker. Not all of them are available across all regulated states, but you can rest assured these are your best and safest picks.

PokerStars Heads Back to Bahamas for PCA and PSPC in January 2023 – PokerNews.com
Posted: at 3:50 am
PokerStars has officially been confirmed that the PokerStars Caribbean Adventure (PCA) will go ahead in January 2023, three years on from the last edition.
The announcement also confirmed the return of the second ever PokerStars Players No-Limit Holdem Championship (PSPC), which runs alongside the PCA. The buy-in for the PSPC will be $25,000, mirroring that of the first instalment.
The dates for the PSPC have officially been set in stone following the 2020 PSPC cancellation and postponement beyond 2021. The PCA runs from January 22February 3, 2023, with the PSPC taking place from January 30February 3.
We have missed our live events as much as our players, so it is our true pleasure to announce the PokerStars Players Championship will take place at Baha Mar in January," said Severin Rasset, Managing Director & Commercial Officer, PokerStars. "Beautiful location, hundreds of qualifiers, with millions to win. If there is one tournament to choose for a once-in-a-lifetime experience, it will be the PSPC.
"We will provide more details soon on how to get your hands on a Platinum Pass - stay tuned!
In September 2019, it was reported that the PCA had been discontinued but the event is back on the poker calendar with the PCA heading to the brand new Baha Mar Hotel and Resort, Nassau from January 22February 3, 2023.
The resort promises the finest hotel accommodation and is packed out with numerous bars and fine-dining restaurants. Guests can also take a break away from the tables and soak up the gorgeous Caribbean sun at the complex's water park.
While the schedule for the PCA is not finalized, the PCA Main Event buy-in will be $10,300. Those with more modest bankrolls can still be part of the experience as numerous events for just a few hundred dollars grace the schedule, while nose-bleed stakes aficionados will be able to dive into the various High and Super High Rollers.

Chino Rheem was the last player to etch his name on the PCA Main Event trophy. He put on a dominant display throughout the event and beat Daniel Strelitz to seal the victory.
The event attracted 865 total entries, which generated a prize pool of $8,390,500. Rheem, of course, took home the lion's share and added $1,567,100 to his live earnings total following the triumph.
Scott Wellenbach helped produce one of the more heartwarming stories to come from the 2019 PCA. The poker philanthropist, who qualified for the Main Event for just $500, promised to donate all his winnings to charity.
The Canadian would go on to make a deep run, finishing in third place for $671,000. This meant over $600,000 went to good causes. You can learn more about Wellenbach and his incredible story by clicking here.
Also announced was the return of the PokerStars Players Championship (PSPC), which will round out the PCA festival from January 30February 3, 2023.
First held in 2019 during the PCA Festival, the PSPC was a unique event, combining Platinum Pass qualifiers and satellite winners with $25,000 high roller regulars. The event was won by PokerStars Ambassador Ramon Colillas, winning a staggering $5.1 million for his efforts.
After the success of the 2019 event, the PSPC was due to return to the poker calendar the following year in Barcelona, but was postponed until 2021 and seemingly cancelled altogether in the spring of 2021.
At the time, PokerStars Managing Director & Commercial Officer Severin Rasset reiterated his commitment to the tournament, saying that the PSPC would return "as soon as the situation allows". As we now know, that will be in January 2023.
All signs point towards the event in 2023 being even bigger than the first, with plenty of Platinum Passes still burning a hole in the pockets of those who received one for the 2020 event.
Each Platinum Pass package is worth $30,000 and along with the $25,000 buy-in, it has a host of other perks. Up to 400 Platinum Pass winners will play the event, so be sure to keep up to date with how you can get yours.
A 2023 Platinum Pass includes:
One player who has already booked his place at the PSPC is Greg "Fossilman" Raymer. The 2004 WSOP Main Event Champion rode to victory at the Cardplayer Lifestyle Mixed Game Festival to get the coveted package.
Scott Baumstein, who finished fourth in the 2019 PSPC, will also be flying to the Bahamas after he captured his Platinum Pass at the Moneymaker's Road to PSPC 2020 Seminole Hard Rock.
Several more players have already secured their seats, so be sure to check out who else will be there. All the Road to PSPC 2020 champions should qualify for 2023.
PokerStars players can get their hands on a Platinum Pass in the ongoing The EasterWithAces series which runs until April 17.

Poker Party Grand National Odds & Betting Profile – HorseRacing.net
Posted: at 3:50 am
Henry De Bromhead's Poker Party has snuck in at the bottom of the weights for the 2022 Grand National and the former Kerry National winner could be a lively each-way contender for the April 9 showpiece at Aintree...
Age: 10
Trainer: Henry De Bromhead
Chase Runs:14
Chase Wins:3
Notable Race Wins: 2019 Kerry National
A regular in top notch staying handicap chases over the last couple of years, Henry De Bromhead's Poker Party landed his first big pot in the 2019 Kerry National at Listowel, where he beat Ravenhill by a head. He's only been seen on a racecourse five times since, but he has failed to get his head in front, so will be looking to return to winning ways at Aintree.
Fourth in the Paddy Power Chase off a mark of 146 in 2019, he was then off the track for over 600 days following a third placed finish at Leopardstown in March 2020. Down the field on his comeback run in the Paddy Power Chase at Leopardstown, the ten-year-old then had a spin over hurdles before he headed to the Cheltenham Festival last month.
Sent off an unfancied 33/1 shot for the Cross Country Chase, Poker Party was no match for the winner Delta Work and he was pulled up during that event, so he heads to Aintree looking to recapture his form from a few years ago.
Still 7lbs higher in the handicap from his Kerry National winner, Poker Party looks to face a huge task to land any sort of blow in the Merseyside showpiece, despite having a featherweight on his back.

The analysis helps to determine whether it's a strong buy-and-hold investment opportunity currently for traders.GPKR at this time has a superior long-term technical analysis score than 1% of crytpos in circulation. The Long-Term Rank will be most relevant to buy-and-hold type investors who are looking for strong steady growth when allocating their assets.
