Liberty Energy Announces New Acreage in Eastland County, Texas

Posted: August 7, 2012 at 7:11 am

HOUSTON, Aug. 6, 2012 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Liberty Energy Corp. (LBYE) ("Liberty" or "the Company") announces further details on its new Texas acreage.

The Company is pleased to reveal further details on its newly acquired acreage in Eastland County, Texas. The 112 acre lease is located within Eastland County, approximately 80 miles west of Fort Worth, Texas.

The Company has confirmed that there are two major producing reservoirs that are widespread within this area. The first, Marble Falls, a prolific oil and gas producing reservoir with production being generated from several channel sands found within this Lower Pennsylvanian formation. The second, Mississippian-Duffer limestone, predominantly produces gas with some oil shows. The Duffer formation lies unconformably below the Marble Falls formation. Both zones are widespread in Eastland County and have been highly productive throughout Texas Railroad Commission District 7B.1

The (Mississippian) Barnet Shale is also present in this area. Although its thickness is limited to approximately 50 feet in this area, this geological structure is among the most prolific oil and gas producing areas of Texas. This shale underlies the Duffer Limestone, and is thought to be a source for much of the hydrocarbon found in the reservoirs above.2

The Bend Arch has had a significant effect on the Barnett Shale regarding its burial history and geo-thermal makeup. The Bend Arch-Fort Worth Basin Province resulted in estimated means of 26.7 trillion cubic feet of gas (TCFG), 98.5 million barrels of oil (MMBO), and a mean of 1.1 billion barrels of natural gas liquids (BBNGL).3 Nearly all of the undiscovered gas resource (98 percent, or 26.2 TCFG) is considered to be in continuous accumulations of non-associated gas trapped in strata of two of the three Mississippian-age Barnett Shale AUs of the Barnett-Paleozoic TPS.4 The third AU within this TPS, the Hypothetical Basin-Arch Barnett Shale Oil AU, has not yet been quantitatively assessed because of a lack of data.3 The Barnett-Paleozoic TPS is estimated to contain a mean of 409.2 BCFG of conventional gas, or about 88 percent of all undiscovered conventional gas, and about 64.6 MMB of conventional oil, or about 65 percent of all undiscovered oil in the Bend Arch-Fort Worth Basin Province.4

"We are extremely pleased to have secured this lease which is situated in the heart of existing oil and natural gas fields. This is a formation that has been consistently produced by majors for years including Devon Energy, Chesapeak Energy and ConocoPhillips. We intend to extensively study the surrounding fields and formations in which oil and natural gas have been recovered. We then intend to initiate a detailed geological study of the acreage that will determine how we further develop the property," commented Ian Spowart, CEO of Liberty Energy Corp. For more information on the Eastland Project see the Liberty Energy website at http://www.energy-liberty.com/projects/.

Liberty Tire Recycling Presents 'Recycle WISCONSIN: 2012' Event to Explore Innovative Applications of Rubberized …

Posted: at 7:11 am

PITTSBURGH, Aug. 6, 2012 /PRNewswire/ --Liberty Tire Recycling, the premier provider of tire recycling services in North America, will highlight the innovative applications and benefits of rubberized asphalt on August 15, 2012 with an event called Recycle WISCONSIN: 2012. Held at the Modified Asphalt Research Center (MARC) at the University of Wisconsin-Madison (Engineering Centers Building, Room 1025, 1550 Engineering Drive), the program will gather transportation and environmental professionals, civic leaders and policy-makers together so that they may learn more about new applications for recycled rubber. The event will also include a tour of MARC's lab on campus.

(Logo: http://photos.prnewswire.com/prnh/20091210/NE24642LOGO )

"With a renewed focus on community improvement through sustainable sourcing, rubberized asphalt and other innovative applications for recycled rubber create a win-win situation for cities across the nation," said Jeffrey Kendall, CEO of Liberty Tire Recycling. "Reusing scrap tire rubber for infrastructure like highways can help ensure that dangerous tire piles are a thing of the past, and also help build a sustainable future across Wisconsin and the nation."

The sessions will consist of presentations on topics including "Sustainable Asphalt Pavements: An Industry Perspective," "End of Life Tires in Wisconsin," "Wisconsin Experience with Rubber" and "Rubberized Asphalt," which will provide an overview of the advantages of rubberized asphalt, from enhanced safety and reduced tire noise to better crack resistance and cost savings. Following lunch, attendees will go on a tour of MARC's lab on campus.

Rubberized asphalt is a low-cost, high-performance alternative to traditional paving mixes that reduces dependency on oil and limits carbon dioxide emissions. Added to traditional asphalt, crumb rubber comprises 8- to 22-percent of the binder and increases tensile strength. For more than 40 years, rubberized asphalt has proven to diminish maintenance costs and provide a smoother, safer ride. Plus, recycled rubber provides a reliable and consistent supply of material.

"We encourage engineers and road maintenance supervisors to take rubberized asphalt specifications from this event and put them into practice in Wisconsin to help save money without sacrificing performance," Kendall added.

Liberty Dethrones Gorman With Ninth-Inning Rally

Posted: August 5, 2012 at 8:15 pm

Posted: Aug. 5, 2012 | 2:02 a.m.

Liberty's Michael Vargas was well aware of Bishop Gorman's credentials as he stepped to the plate in the top of the ninth inning Saturday.

He knew that the defending champion Titans had won five of the past six American Legion state baseball championships, and he knew they had manhandled their opponents in four consecutive wins to reach the title game.

But none of that mattered to Vargas.

In the Patriots' first championship appearance, Vargas drove a two-run single to right field to tie the game with one out. Liberty scored the go-ahead run one batter later on a throwing error and held on for a 4-3 victory at Wilson Stadium.

"We beat a great team," Liberty coach Mike Eshragh said. "Gorman has been here before. They've done that, and they've got the experience."

The win not only dethroned the Titans (40-11) but also spoiled their impressive march through the losers' bracket after an opening-round loss to Coronado.

"But you've got to beat the best to be the best," Eshragh said.

The Titans jumped ahead early, taking a 1-0 first-inning lead on Cody Roper's run-scoring double. A single by Kenny Meimerstorf in the third put Gorman up 2-0.

The Patriots (26-8) made the most of two singles and two Gorman errors in the sixth to cut their deficit to 2-1.

Liberty Ross and Rupert Sanders

Liberty Ross wants to meet with Robert Pattinson.

The 'Snow White and the Huntsman' actress was devastated when her husband Rupert Sanders had a fling with Robert's girlfriend Kristen Stewart and now she hopes to have a chat with the 'Twilight Saga' hunk so they can compare stories.

A source told Hollywoodlife.com: 'Liberty is still furious with what happened and wants answers. She has not spoken to Rob yet, but wants to see him and compare stories. She is hoping they can bring some comfort to each other.'

This comes after it was revealed last week that Robert wants to talk to Liberty to get some clarity on the situation and check if Kristen's story that there was no full blown affair is true.

An insider said: 'He needs to know for his own peace of mind if theirs was just a fleeting moment.

'He hopes Liberty can help him find the answers he so desperately craves.

'Nothing is very clear at the moment but perhaps a meeting would lend some clarity to the situation. He needs to know the truth.'

Liberty Ross bans Rupert Sanders from directing Snow White sequel after Kristen Stewart affair

Posted: August 3, 2012 at 5:12 pm

Liberty Ross has reportedly forgiven her wayward husband Rupert Sanders after it was revealed that the Snow White And The Huntsman film director had an affair with leading lady Kristen Stewart.

However, it looks Liberty is a long way off from actually trusting her husband of 10 years as she said to have banned him from directing the SWATH sequel.

Liberty let it be known in no uncertain terms that Rupert cant direct the sequel to Snow White And The Huntsman, a source has told Radar Online They are trying to work things out after he was caught having an affair, and that is one of the sticking points. She just doesnt want him to ever work with Kristen again.

Rupert is saidto be disappointed that he wont get the chance to be involved in the follow up, but thankfully he has the sense to do what his wife asks,

Rupert is obviously disappointed because Snow White And The Huntsman was his directorial debut, and he had hoped on building on that with a follow-up after some decent reviews.

But he knows his actions were inexcusable, and hes going to have to bite the bullet and listen to his wife on this one.

The source continued: Kristen, as the films lead, will get preference over Rupert and Universal will just find another director.

We pretty sure that not working with Kristen Stewart ever again is the very least that Rupert can do.

Lady Liberty's Allure Endures

Posted: at 5:12 pm

It's fitting that the only way to get to the Statue of Liberty is by boat. After all, it was by boat that the immigrants of old the grandparents and great grandparents of many Americans arrived in this country. As they entered New York Harbor, they would be greeted by the majestic, 22-story monument her torch a beacon of liberty, welcoming them to the new world.

Visiting the statue today, you can witness a similar sight. To get to the island you need to travel by ferry from either Battery Park in New York City or Liberty State Park in Jersey City, NJ. Of course this ride is far shorter than the trip from Europe, but on summer days the boat is hot and brimming with huddled masses of tourists, who by journey's end, are definitely yearning to breathe free.

The Statue of Liberty is located on Liberty Island, and its full name is Liberty Enlightening the World. A gift from the people of France, the statue was dedicated in 1886. About 4.5 million people visit her each year and it's easy to see why. In a modern city of soaring sky scrapers, Lady Liberty stands out as unique a great work of art on a truly colossal scale.

Dennis Mulligan, supervisory park ranger for visitor services at the Statue of Liberty National Monument, says people are drawn to the statue because she "represents something that is still so relevant in this world. People come to reflect and remember what an amazing gift liberty is."

These visitors come from all backgrounds and from all around the globe. Mulligan says "when you walk around the island it is not uncommon to hear 20 or 25 different languages spoken."

Currently the inside of the statue is closed as renovations are made. Though the interior of the statue itself will not be altered, renovations to the interior of the base will be made and include the addition of new code compliant stairways, updates to mechanical, electrical and fire suppression systems, new elevators and renovated bathrooms. The inside is not scheduled to reopen until at least the fall, but no exact date has been set.

Even when the interior of the monument is open, only a fraction of the 12,000 to 15,000 thousand people who visit Liberty Island each day are allowed in. Staff allows 3,500 people a day to enter the structure and only 250 a day are able to go up to the statue's crown. Although some same day passes to go inside the pedestal are given out early each morning, Mulligan recommended advance reservations. He said you usually need to book a pedestal pass about one to two weeks in advance and a visit to the crown usually requires a reservation made 3 to 6 months in advance. Visitor access to the observation area on the torch has been closed since 1916.

However, even just visiting the outside of the statue is well worth the trip. I grew up not far from New York City, and had seen the statue from a distance many times but I had never visited Liberty Island prior to this story. Standing in its shadow, the statue is beautiful and awe inspiring and I was surprised by just how big it is.

Liberty Island is also full of historical information about the statue and there's a restaurant and picnic area with great views of the harbor and lower Manhattan. Also, Liberty Island is next to Ellis Island and you can stop at Ellis Island and the Immigration Museum on the way back to Manhattan for no extra admission charge.

Mulligan said the park is at its least crowded during the week right after Labor Day because kids have just gone back to school.

Liberty Bell Bans Husband Rupert Sanders From Working With Kristen Stewart Following Affair

WENN

The wife of director Rupert Sanders Liberty Bell, who had an affair with actress Kristen Stewart, has reportedly taken the 41 year-old back but told him that following the fling he can't direct the rumoured sequel to 'Snow White and The Huntsman' where the pair initially met.

While there have been conflicting reports about when the affair actually started, no doubt Kristen and Rupert would not have had a chance to strike up a relationship if it had not been for the movie that they worked closely on for months.

While 33 year-old Liberty, who has two children with her husband of ten years is reportedly ready to forgive the director she doesn't want Rupert to ever work with Kristen again for obvious reasons.

A source told RadarOnline: Liberty let it be known in no uncertain terms that Rupert cant direct the sequel to Snow White and the Huntsman,

They are trying to work things out after he was caught having an affair, and that is one of the sticking points. She just doesnt want him to ever work with Kristen again.

Before the affair was exposed last week, Universal were said to be considering a sequel to the box office smash, though if Kristen, who starred as Snow White is returning that means Rupert will be out.

Rupert is obviously disappointed because Snow White and the Huntsman was his directorial debut, and he had hoped on building on that with a follow-up after some decent reviews, the source explained.

But he knows his actions were inexcusable, and hes going to have to bite the bullet and listen to his wife on this one.

The source went on to claim that Universal would never pick Rupert over Kristen if it came down to that for the sequel.

Liberty Energy Secures Acreage in Tx. Lease

Posted: August 2, 2012 at 4:19 am

Liberty Energy Corp. has recently secured an average 97.9 percent working interest on over 626 acres in Caldwell, Texas.

The Company intends to target 3 main pay zones: the Dale Lime, Austin Chalk and Edwards. New field discoveries based on logged but undeveloped shows are also possible in the Salt Flat and Dale Lime fields. With the application of acid/fracture jobs and/or 'far-out perforating' it is believed that the Company could be able to increase production and possibly access undeveloped reservoirs that could produce at significantly higher daily rates and overall total production.

Typically there is between 2 and 160 acre spacing for well bores in this region. There are currently 385 operators (including Eagle Ford Oil Co., Inc., Luling O&G LLC and Texas Petroleum Investment Co.) and nearly 9,000 wells in Caldwell County. The Salt Flat oil field, (where the Company's 106 acre lease lies) in Caldwell County, is on a fault structure about 20 miles southeast of the main Balcones fault. The area is drained by the San Marcos River, and the main producing formation is the Edwards limestone of the Comanchean Cretaceous. The field is 7.5 miles long and averages about 0.5 mile wide. To date the field has produced over 34 million barrels of oil from a total of around 350 wells. It is further estimated that ultimate recovery will be approximately 30,000 barrels of oil per acre.

There is an old assumption that only the top five (5) feet of the Edwards is productive. However, new field information suggests that there are different producing intervals in the Edwards formation. These intervals are not separated by the normal shale intervals found in other producing formations, but are rather separated by chert layers in the limestone of the Edwards which reduce the permeability to zero. This raises a number of possibilities and traps for production from lower zones in the Edwards.

The Dale conformably overlies the Austin Chalk and is considered to be part of the Austin Group. The Dale Limestone, recognized in the Travis volcanic field east of Austin, is associated more closely with individual volcanic mounds. Dale carbonates are at several stratigraphic horizons on the flanks of mounds, reflecting alternating conditions of volcanism and reef growth. The Dale has reported thicknesses of as much as 423 feet and a mean thickness of about 58 feet.

"We are pleased to announce even more acreage into our Caldwell County and Texas portfolio; we are currently in the process of determining how best to explore this exciting lease and will provide further updates as soon as possible," commented Ian Spowart, CEO of Liberty Energy Corp.

MGM Sells Most of its International Channels to Liberty Global

Posted: August 1, 2012 at 7:19 pm

Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer has sold most of its international television channels to Chellomedia, the international content division of Liberty Global, it was announced Wednesday.

MGM, which has been shopping the international channels since earlier this year, is keeping its network businesses in the U.S., UK, Germany and a joint venture in Brazil and Australia. The deal includes 13 channels, two joint ventures and the service which feeds the content.

Separately, Chellomedia also announced Wednesday from London that it has entered into an agreement with CBS Studios International to create CBS-branded channels within the Chellomedia channel division called Chello Zone, which has existing operations in 83 territories across Europe, the Middle East and Asia. The two companies have been partners in other CBS branded channels in the UK since 2009.

CBS will hold a 30 percent stake in the new venture, which will form a new board from both companies.

As part of the deal with MGM, Chellomedia will have the right to use the studio's famous roaring lion brand on the channels; and has made a licensing deal which will give it continued access to the 4,000-plus titles in the MGM movie and TV library. The library includes not only MGM titles, but also those from United Artists, Orion and others acquired over the years. Those include Rain Man, When Harry Met Sally, Thelma and Louise and Silence of the Lambs.

Chellomedia will now own a group of channels that the former management of MGM spent nearly a decade assembling, including outlets in Spain, Turkey, Israel, Benelux, Poland, India and South East Asia.

Chellomedia has also acquired the 50 percent of MGM Latin America that it does not already own, after operating as a joint venture since 1998. Chellomedia also acquired the rest of another joint venture operated with MGM in Central Europe.

In a 2011 financial report, privately held MGM indicated the annual revenue from all of its international channel operations was about $150 million. That is believed to have produced about $20 million to $30 million cash flow, and about $20 million in deferred profit.

Many of the channels sell advertising as well as earning subscriber fees when carried on cable or satellite systems. Most are also available on pay-per-view or on demand.

In the announcement, Chellomedia alluded to its interest in the channels and content for use in the on demand world.
