Mike McGlone Senior Commodity Strategist at Bloomberg expects 2022 to be a successful year for both bitcoin and gold. He believes the primary cryptocurrency will hit $100,000, while the precious metal will trade at $2,000.

The current global financial system is passing through tough times, to say the least. The COVID-19 pandemic, and the health concerns around it, caused many companies to temporarily cease operations or send their workers to work from home. This led to immediate disruptions, crippled productivity, and built a solid base for future monetary issues.

At the same time, numerous central banks started printing vast amounts of fiat currencies to alleviate some of the short-term pain. However, by doing so, the inflation rate surged to unseen levels in decades. In the USA it stands at over 6% the highest it has been in nearly 40 years.

And while national currencies, such as the American dollar, are slowly losing their purchasing power, bitcoin is considered by many as the exact opposite. As of the moment, it is an inflationary asset. Its fixed supply of 21 million coins ever to exist gives it a trustworthy scarcity, making it an attractive investment tool that many people got on board during the ongoing financial turbulence.

Nonetheless, Bloombergs Mike McGlone predicted that deflationary forces will prevail next year and inflation will stop spreading across the globe. This process could help the primary cryptocurrency to tap a significant milestone in its USD development of $100,000. According to the expert, the same factors will cause gold to climb to $2,000 and oil to hit $50.

Another recent statement from Bloomberg revealed that many investors currently protect themselves from the rising inflation by getting into bitcoin. The company even called the leading cryptocurrency the best inflation hedge around.

The theory of BTC being such an alternative is supported by many prominent names, including Anthony Scaramucci, Paul Tudor Jones, and Barry Sternlicht. Not long ago, Jordan Peterson a clinical psychologist and a famous YouTube personality also joined this club.

After having an educational conversation with Dr. Saifedean Ammous, who stated that bitcoin is essentially the most powerful defensive technology against inflation, Peterson said he bought more BTC.

Subsequently, John Authers journalist at Bloomberg determined that BTC has achieved 99.996% deflation over the last ten years, meaning that the price of a single coin in 2011 now costs just 0.004 of it today.

Pope Francis said Monday that 'sins of the flesh' were not the most serious of sins in reference to having sex outside of marriage.

Francis's remarks come amid controversy regarding a Paris archbishop who resigned after having a relationship with a woman . Archbishop Michel Aupetit, 70, denied that the relationship was sexual in nature, however. If it was, it would have broken his vow of celibacy, Reuters reported .

"He was condemned but by whom? By public opinion, by gossip ... he could no longer govern," Francis continued, reminding those present that everyone is a sinner, including himself. "I accepted the resignation of Aupetit not on the altar of truth but on the altar of hypocrisy."

Francis added that he did not yet have all the details of the case but expects to hear more from French clergy when they meet.

Aupetit gave an apology for his apparent transgression in a statement Thursday.

There was an interesting series of articles about refugees in the issue of 3 December. Resistance to the wrong sort of migrants goes back a way. The UKs 1905 Aliens Act tried to keep out Jewish people such as my ancestors fleeing persecution in Tsarist Russia, and there was resistance to accepting Jews from Nazi Germany until it was too late, though the Kindertransport was an exception. Zionists in Palestine agreed to accept wealthy Jews under the 1933 Haavara trade agreement with the Third Reich because they could share the economic spoils.

We could consider what resistance to helping others in need is really about. We have come some distance, but there is further to go. No one becomes a refugee by choice. Those who make it this far have more initiative and enterprise than all their armchair critics, with much to offer the UK. Managing asylum requires a fair, efficient and effective process. Chaos is coming, so get ready.

That was the warning that four years ago iconographer and YouTube maven Jonathan Pageau offered to leaders of the Orthodox Church in Americas Diocese of the South.

The French-Canadian artist was reacting to cracks in cultural cohesion after Donald Trumps rise to power, with wild reactions on the left and right. And corporate leaders, especially in Big Tech, were throwing their woke weight around in fights over gender, racism, schools, religious liberty and other topics. Fear and angst were bubbling up in media messages about zombies, fundamentalist handmaidens and angry demands for safe spaces.

Pageau didnt predict a global pandemic that would lock church doors.

But thats what happened. Thus, he doubled down on his chaos message several weeks ago, while addressing the same body of OCA priests and parish leaders.

If some of you didnt believe me back then, I imagine you are more willing to believe me now, he said.

Pageau focused, in part, on waves of online conspiracy theories that have shaken many flocks and the shepherds who lead them. Wild rumors and questions, he said, often reveal what people are thinking and feeling and, especially, whether they trust authority figures.

Even the craziest conspiracy nuts, what they are saying is not arbitrary, he said in a Miami meeting of the Diocese of the South, which I attended as a delegate from my parish in Oak Ridge, Tenn. Its like an alarm bell. Its like an alarm bell that you can hear, and you can understand that the person thats ringing the alarm maybe doesnt understand what is going on. ... They may think that they have an inside track based on what theyve heard and think that they know what is going on. But the alarm is not a false alarm, necessarily.

The chaos is real, stressed Pageau. There is chaos in politics, science, schools, technology, economic systems, family structures and many issues linked to sex and gender. Its a time when conspiracy theories about vaccines containing tracking devices echo decades of science-fiction stories, while millions of people navigate daily life with smartphones in their pockets that allow Big Tech leaders to research their every move.

This chaos will lead to change, one way or another, he said. The goal for church leaders is to listen and respond with biblical images, themes and stories as opposed to more acidic chatter about politics. The pandemic was especially challenging for bishops and priests in ancient, liturgical churches, since life in their parishes is built on intimate sacramental acts including confession, Holy Communion and anointing the sick.

In Eastern Orthodox flocks, leaders also are trying to make sense of two conflicting trends. A census for 2010-2020 found that the number of Orthodox Christians in America shrank by 17%, with the large Greek Orthodox Church declining 22%. Other jurisdictions, including the OCA, showed slower declines, while the number of new parishes increased.

Meanwhile, Father Andrew Stephen Damick, an Antiochian Orthodox priest who specializes in online ministries, recently asked priests around the country about anecdotal accounts of rising numbers of inquirers and catechumens showing up at their parishes during the pandemic. Only three priests said that wasnt the case at their churches, while 28 affirmed the reports.

A number said that they noticed that the newcomers skew younger, wrote Damick on his Ancient Faith Ministries blog. Several said its more than theyve ever had in some cases, double. At his own Pennsylvania parish, the number of newcomers last year topped the total from the previous decade.

The vast majority of priests at the Diocese of the South meetings reported the same phenomenon. Several reported a pattern frequently seen online, with young men turning to Orthodoxy after following the writings and YouTube posts of University of Toronto psychology professor Jordan Peterson. This led them to online dialogues between Peterson and Pageau, which then led them to Pageaus The Symbolic World YouTube channel and other online Orthodox outlets.

All these guys ... these young men in their 20s and early 30s, theyre out there urgently hunting for something, said Pageau. I sympathize with the warrior, crazy-aggressive energy in these young men that crazy ball of warrior energy.

Future Pro Football Hall of Famer Adrian Peterson was released by the Tennessee Titans just over a week ago, but it didn't take him long to find a new opportunity. On Wednesday, the running back signed on with the Seattle Seahawks practice squad, as Pete Carroll wanted to add another running back to the fold since his ground game has been lacking.

The Seahawks aren't the only team that has been poking around the running back market as of late, as Peterson's former team in the Minnesota Vikings has been as well. Dalvin Cook was carted off the field last week during the Vikings' loss to the San Francisco 49ers, and an MRI reportedly revealed that hesuffered a torn labrum. However, head coach Mike Zimmer told reporters that Cook didn't tear his labrum, and would instead be day-to-day.

Even though it appears Cook is going to play through the injury, Minnesota reportedly worked outrunning back Kerryon Johnson. This upset Peterson's father, that Minnesota did not reach out to its franchise legend for a reunion.

"That's disappointing to me. He never heard anything from the Vikings and you go in and bring in a guy Adrian beat out in Detroit (in 2020)," Nelson Peterson said, via Chris Tomasson of the St. Paul Pioneer Press.

Peterson was open to inquiries when Minnesota decided to work out Johnson. Before being cut loose, Peterson played in three games for the Titans and rushed 27 times for 82 yards and one touchdown. He is currently fifth on the all-time rushing list with 14,902 yards, and owns several Vikings franchise records such as most career rushing touchdowns (97) and most career rushing yards (11,747).

It sounds as though the Vikings aren't looking for a full-time replacement since Cook will try to play through the injury. It could be viewed as a slight to a Viking legend if Minnesota brought in Peterson only to potentially cut ties with him a couple weeks later. Still, Nelson Peterson thinks it's silly that his son didn't get a call.

Jordan Peterson, a sometimes controversial author and social commentator, will appear at Birminghams Alabama Theatre as part of his 2022 tour.

The March 28 appearance, announced Wednesday by Red Mountain Entertainment and the venue, appears to be the only Alabama stop on Petersons Beyond Order tour. He will appear March 27 at the Saenger Theatre in Pensacola.

General public ticket sales begin at 10 a.m. Friday, Dec. 3, though Ticketmaster indicates that tour presales have begun.

The full title of the tour, Beyond Order: 12 More Rules for Life, refers to a 2021 book that is a followup to Petersons 2018 bestseller 12 Rules for Life: An Antidote to Chaos.

Peterson, a Canadian academic and clinical psychologist turned social media star, has positioned himself as an opponent of political correctness and identity-based politics. This has fueled an ardent, largely right-wing fan base but has also led to accusations that Peterson at times merely puts a scholarly sheen on reactionary ideas, legitimizing misogyny and other discriminatory behavior.

While half-checking your phone on Thanksgiving, you may have noticed that Tim Heideckers podcast Office Hours Live was on the air, but this was not an ordinary week for the talk show. In the special episode, Heidecker moderates a meandering marathon interview with comedians Jeremy Levick and Rajat Suresh. Wearing a ball cap with the logo for Elon Musks SpaceX, Heidecker serves up stoner-friendly questions like, How much can the brain absorb when it comes to new information?, and Levick replies simply by listing different parts of the brain in pulse-slowing monotone. Elsewhere, Suresh describes an Unsolved Mysterieslevel news story about the discovery of one of the devils horns, a topic that all three agree the New York Times would be too scared to pursue (Follow the money, Levick murmurs knowingly). Heidecker reads ad copy for Quad Core, a pyramid-scheme-seeming lifestyle health system that you can sign up for with the discount code Fuddruckers, which may draw your eye to a neon sign for the burger chain green-screened behind him.

If this reminds you of another podcast hosted by a certain UFC commentator and former Fear Factor host, youre right. Though hes booked interviewees as relatively innocuous as Neil deGrasse Tyson and Jay Leno, Joe Rogans hands-off style draws in guests who like that he wont push back on their rsums and responses, whether alt-right figureheads like Alex Jones or conspiracy-prone tech magnates like Musk, whose 2018 weed-toking appearance is invoked by Heideckers hat. But this hangout vibe also means that many Joe Rogan Experience episodes clock in at three hours or more, which is a long time to listen to anyone shoot the shit. This dull endlessness is the starting point for the Office Hours version: Heidecker, Levick, and Sureshs stream lasted for nearly 12 hours, an amazing stunt to witness in real time. While digesting turkey or a meat alternative, you could drop into the eighth hour of the show and hear Suresh explaining that humans can be considered animals on a cellular level.

In reality, the special loops an hour-long base video, but this feeling that they could go on forever makes the episode such a compelling (and funny) satire of Rogan. As the three comedians nail the lethargic tone of the Experience, everything that they actually discuss is patently ridiculous, spun from smart-sounding but meaningless buzzwords Levick says to Heidecker at one point, Im glad you said countercurrent, because its a sea change (whatever it is). Even if everything resembles the real JRE, each flimsy metaphor makes it harder to ignore the void at the conversations center. Theres a scene from Surrealist filmmaker Luis Buuels The Phantom of Liberty with a similar atmosphere: Characters attend a dinner party where toilets surround the table instead of chairs, but no one in the film views this as unusual. Instead of a visual gag, Office Hours punch line is conceptual; the joke might be on you if youre willing to listen to three weirdos talk for 12 hours about The Rock ruling the U.S. as a benevolent monarch.

That kind of obsession with formal detail, but with one major screw loose, is Levick and Sureshs trademark as a comedy duo. Theyre best known for their 2020 viral-video spoof conservative lecturer DESTROYS sjw college student: Levick plays a writer who pedantically eviscerates an audience question from Suresh about the moral compass of his book called Mr. Mouse Goes on a Fun Little Adventure to Happy Town (Define special mouse, Levick snaps repeatedly). Levicks pompous character was inspired by reactionaries like Ben Shapiro and Jordan Peterson, but instead of mimicking anything heinous that these people might say, the video lowers the stakes to the ground. Whats left is the underlying aggression that these particular exchanges share, now hilariously displaced into a heated argument over a cartoon mouse or, in a parody of an anti-masker bystander video, the message of When Harry Met Sally. Newly-minted SNL cast member James Austin Johnson does something comparable in his Donald Trump impression videos, in which he embarks on all sorts of free-associative tangents, like how Weird Al was mean to Coolio. Since he so closely replicates the real mans bizarre speech patterns, Johnsons videos feel like staring into Trumps erratic id, which gets at something less obvious than Alec Baldwins topical caricature. These comedians are more interested in unleashing toxic energy with pitch-perfect accuracy, a better fit for an absurd political reality that cant be rationally described.

Heidecker is the perfect partner in crime for this super-dry, committed brand of satire. Across all of his series with Eric Wareheim, hes made laser-precise parodies of infomercials, sitcoms, and, for the 2013 pilot of their horror anthology Bedtime Stories (20132017), a useless aftershow in the style of Talking Bad. The closest of his projects to the Rogan takeoff might be his epically scaled The Trial of Tim Heidecker from 2017, in which his character from On Cinema at the Cinema is on trial for murder. Directed by Eric Notarnicola, The Trial is nearly five hours long and stylized exactly like a live feed of court TV, but that aesthetic only makes its core psychodrama more perverse. At its heart, On Cinema is a soap opera about the power struggles of two incompetent film critics (Heidecker and Gregg Turkington), and in The Trial, their feuds look especially pathetic when they collide with the real world. The judge, lawyers, and jury have no frame of reference for a petty argument over which Star Trek movie was set in San Francisco, but they also seem powerless to stop this bizarre lore from swallowing up the legal process. As much as Heidecker has absorbed Trumps and Alex Joness mannerisms into his QAnon-prone, alternative-medicine-hocking On Cinema character, The Trial is more focused on the total inability of conventional systems to deal with his character and, in the end, he gets away with negligent homicide for selling faulty vape pens at a terrible EDM festival.

When Office Hours drains the center of The Joe Rogan Experience, whats left behind is a soup of directionless anecdotes and lamentations about cancel culture. Suresh worries that his stand-up jokes about Einstein in antifa might attract controversy, but Levick reassures him that this hour is valid and fucking funny. This also seems to be the premise of Rogans podcast: the possibility that each guests perspective could have a kernel of validity, and listeners are free to come to their own conclusions. By following Rogans format, Heidecker, Levick, and Suresh highlight something related: JRE episodes are mainly about unchecked rambling. Topics on deck could be as banal as Rogan and Musk vaguely spitballing about the future of AI, or as potentially harmful as misinformation about ivermectin and COVID vaccines. Whatever it is, its all delivered in the same casual, conversational tone. So when Heidecker talks about the therapeutic power of crab salts crystallized DNA from decomposed crabs which, if taken in capsule form, could provide complete immunity from disease and irreparably disrupt the pharmaceutical industry its important that this idea can jump out of the shows ASMR rhythm enough to make you laugh, jolting you awake from a multi-hour galaxy-brain session. If a perfect imitation of JRE can tap into its essence, Office Hours finds three men desperate to talk, but with nothing of value to say. And if that seems laughable, then its hard to see what might make it valid.

Michael Jordan remains one of the most popular athletes the world has seen, influencing and inspiring even after his retirement. Now, while Jordans fame is a result of his illustrious basketball career, golf has always been highlighted as an interest the Chicago Bulls legend has. Lets take a look at Jordans extensive interest in golf, which has only grown.

While Jordans played basketball since he was a kid, he was also introduced to golf when he was at the University of North Carolina. Jordans friend Buzz Peterson had invited his friend Davis Love III over, the latter wanting to go play golf at the Finley Golf Club in Chapel Hill. The NBA icon had played his last college game and ended up tagging along.

That being said, Jordans love for golf began in 1984 the same year he was drafted by the Chicago Bulls.

He started off just tagging along and driving the cart or walking around with us, just because there were so many guys playing, Love said in an interview. He tried to come out and hack it around and hang out. Jordan eventually started hitting a putt or a drive every now then, Love eventually putting together a bag of old clubs and balls for him.

Jordan ended up learning the game eventually, admitting that he has been hooked ever since his first round of play with Al Wood.

Now, while Love put together a bag for Jordan, it was Duke Universitys director of golf Ed Ibarguen who helped Jordan learn. Michael really got bit by the bug, though, a little more than the rest, Ibarguen revealed, speaking about other athletes also showing some kind of interest in golf.

Today, a 58-year-old Jordan also has his own golf course The Grove XXIII. It is a super-exclusive affair, with drones delivering beverages to the golfers. The golf carts will be able to speed 35 miles per hour, while caddies will have scooters.

Jordans love for golf has remained consistent over the years, currently even turned into an investment of his own.
