Dont you just love when Kanye is able to smile?

He has so many things to be happy about now that hes engaged, and he was grinning ear to ear as he stopped by Bay Area radio station WiLD 94.9 recently to talk about the controversy surrounding his decision to have a man dressed as Jesus out on stage during his concerts. During the brief sit-down, Kanye was grinning ear-to-ear and in a good mood as he talked about the Yeezus tour, while saying God knows his heart and his shows are no different than a stage play or piece of artwork. He also talked a little about the Illuminati, while saying that people who are distracted by it are the new slaves of this generation.

On bringing Jesus out on stage during his Yeezus tour I had a friend of mine thats a pastor there as we started discussing how we wanted to deliver it. My girl even asked afterward, Hmmm, is that weird if he just comes on stage? No, we do plays all the time where people play Jesus. Whats awesome about Christianity is that were allowed to portray God. We are allowed to draw images of him, were allowed to make movies about him. Other religions, youre not allowed to do that. So thats whats really awesome about Christianity. Thats one of the awesome things.[...]Michelangelo did it.

Its a painting. Its a sculpture. Its a moving opera. Its a play. Im not even gonna do any comparisons with that because God knows where my heart is at.[...]Ima tell you one thing. One of the things I wanted to get across with that message is that you can have a relationship with Jesus, that you can talk to Jesus. This is my literalin the same way as someone can have Jesus is my homeboy, that is the way I would express it. In the way I create it is that you can have a relationship with Jesus. You can talk to him.

On being a Christian & wanting to be like Jesus The reason it was funny to say white Jesus is whether its a portrayal of what your image of something is. You know, all that matters is what you see and how you believe in you and how you love your family. Thats my opinion. The real opinions are in the Bible. This is my opinion and message for what Im dealing with right now.[...]Its funny because you hear the term black Jesus all the time, but you never hear the term white Jesus. Its just some Kanye West st really. The same way Will Ferrell gets up and he performs his stuff, Im a performance artist. Im a believer. Anytime that word Jesus can be used more in our lives, I believe its a good thing. So even if its a title Yeezuswhen I say this about my heroes, people wanna be like Mike, I want to be like Christ. I keep it five years old at all times. I think people have had all these boundaries of peoples opinions that hold them back to what they honestly want to create, so the biggest form about me having any form of portrayal of Jesus is I wanted to do it.

[Video] Kanye West Explains Why He Brings Jesus On Stage During His Tour

Kanye appeared on Wild 94's JV Show in San Francisco after the first night of the Yeezus Tour to discuss bringing Jesus out, the illuminati, and his "white voice".

Kanye explains that after consulting with a pastor and putting on the first Yeezus show, Kim asked if it would be weird to bring out Jesus, but they concluded that Broadway shows portray Jesus on stage all the time, so there isn't really a difference. He also commented on how Christianity is great because the religion tolerates depictions of Jesus, while other religions (such as Islam) don't allow their participants to portray their god(s). He went on to describe the Yeezus tour as, "a painting, a sculpture, a moving opera, a play, a message". He finishes the first segment by telling the hosts that he wanted to show people that you can have a relationship with Jesus in the same way that "Jesus is My Homeboy" t-shirts aligned people with Christ.

In the second segment, Kanye talks about how perception, belief, and family love are the most important things to him. He says that he brought out a white Jesus because people always say "Black Jesus" but you never heard the phrase "White Jesus" being used, and he believes that: "Any time the word 'Jesus' can be used more in our lives, it's a good thing. Even if it's the title 'Yeezus'".

He goes on to say that where most people want to be like Mike, he wants to be like Christ, and he "keeps it five years old at all times". He goes on to dismiss rumors of Illuminati as "distractions" that are working against communities while real life agencies continue to conspire against people. When asked if he incorporates allusions to the Illuminati in his work to get people thinking, his response is, "There's only two things in my mind when I create: God and Jesus."

In the final part of the interview, Kanye admits to using his "white voice" when he conducts interviews with certain media platforms. He says that "in some magazines, it's a 'Dinner For Schmucks' situation: are they inviting you to be a part of what you're doing, or are they inviting you to laugh at your teeth?" He finishes by commenting on the class wars in America, claiming that he's at the forefront of a shift in the way information is consumed online.

If there's one thing we can rely on Azealia Banks for, it's consistently left-field visuals. Oh, andbeef. We will always get beef. But her videos from the Illuminati-baiting, dystopian "Yung Rapunxel"to the seapunky "Atlantis"to the runway-chic"Luxury" consistently offer something to chew on beyond the question of whether or not she's sabotaging her career. The Rony Alwin-directedclip for her Pharrell-assisted "ATM Jam" doesn't live up to those standards. It's repetitive and tossed-together, unfortunately mirroring the much-hyped collaboration that has failed stoke buzz for Banks' forthcoming debut album Broke With Expensive Taste.

The video takes on a flower-child theme, with background dancers sporting long, flowing hair and teashade glasses, while blues, purples, and reds radiate across the screen. But the idea mostly stops there: the quartet, including Banks, pulls up to a driveway then splashes around in a pool for a bit before making their way into a house. Spoiler alert: If you find yourself waiting for something to happen, it doesn't. As for why Pharrell who handles the song's hook, bridge, and production doesn't appear in the clip, perhaps he simply couldn't stand to appear in a video at Jimmy Goldstein's famed Hollywood Hills residence for the third time in his career.
