MANILA, Philippines After performing for a sold-out two-night concert series in the Philippines amid protest and controversy there is no stopping Lady Gaga in spreading her music around the world.
The Mother Monster (as what she calls herself) is on her Born This Way Ball Tour stops in Thailand and Singapore and still isnt sure about her Jakarta, Indonesia gig after being denied a permit by police for safety reasons.
Prior, the BTWB Tour was given an X-rating in South Korea.
Despite embracing negativity, Lady Gaga couldnt help but be proud because her album Born This Way marked its first year on May 23.
The American singer-songwriter (Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta in real life) updated her more than 24 million followers on her official Twitter account (@ladygaga): Today marks the 1 year anniversary of our album Born This Way Im very emotional+proud. More than the feat however, RIP Lady Gaga became a trending topic on the social networking site. Apparently, RIP means Really Inspiring Person, in conjunction with the singers album anniversary.
I cANT stop writing music. Its AN ILLNESS, Gaga added, hinting of an upcoming album set for release soon.
The Grammy Award-winning artist also scored with her first voice-over acting debut. Lady Gaga graced a recent episode of The Simpsons via Lisa Goes Gaga episode.
On May 20, she tweeted: IM SOOO EXCITED FOR THE SIMPSONS. Lisa Goes Gaga episode. They did such an amazing job. I hope you like my voice-over acting debut! 🙂 <3

The Secret World delayed two weeks
Posted: May 25, 2012 at 5:15 pm
Funcom's upcoming massively multiplayer online title The Secret World will be kept a secret for two additional weeks. The developer today announced on its forums that the game will miss its previously scheduled June 19 launch, and will now arrive for the PC on July 3.
Funcom chalked up the delay to "market reasons," saying its new early July release date places The Secret World in a "more positive launch window." This is the third time the game has been delayed. Funcom delayed the project in 2009 for "some months," and when Electronic Arts came aboard to publish in 2011, the game was assigned an April 2012 release date, which was later bumped to June.
Early access for the game--available to those who preorder the title--will begin on June 29, Funcom said. Previously, this pre-release play period was expected to begin on June 15.
Funcom also today announced the third beta weekend event for The Secret World will be titled Hell Raised, and will run June 15-17. During this weekend, players will get to try out the Illuminati and Dragon starter experiences, as well as the Templar. Additionally, gamers will be able to trek to the Savage Coast region, where players will face off against demon hellspawn.
Lastly, Funcom took the wraps off The Secret World's final beta weekend period, which will run June 22-24. This event will center on the game's player-versus-player experience, with users able to try out the Eldorado battlefield level and the warzone game mode.
Though The Secret World will release only for the PC on July 3, a console version has been in development since 2007. Last year, Funcom confirmed its principal focus was on the PC version of the game, but noted it was in fact still at work on a console iteration. This release of this SKU will be contingent on the success of the PC version, according to Funcom.

The Secret World, Funcom's hotly-anticipated new PC MMO has been delayed by two weeks and will now launch on 3 July for "market reasons," that will "benefit the launch of the game," according to the developer.
Early access to the game for pre-orderers will now commence from 29 June.
The Secret World beta weekends will continue meanwhile on 15 June, with 'Hell Raised'.
"In this Beta Weekend players will be able to experience the Illuminati and Dragon starter experiences as well as the Templar experience," reads The Secret World site. "Players will also get to leave Kingsmouth and venture into the massive region known as Savage Coast, where they will soon find that the very gates of hell itself have opened up! This will allow players to experience the epic 'Hell Raised' dungeon where you will have to battle the demons of hell itself!"
The final beta weekend is set for 22 June, and will focus on PvP, including "warzone gameplay where over a hundred players clash together in persistent battle."

Bullets, Booze, Brazil: HEALTH on Scoring 'Max Payne 3'
Posted: May 20, 2012 at 3:11 am
HEALTH
The road to Max Payne 3's release earlier this week for Xbox 360 and PS3 (the PC version releases May 29) has been a long one, both for fans of the titular badass and the world-weary character himself. For the uninitiated, Rockstar Games, of Grand Theft Auto fame, first introduced Max Payne in 2001. He's a hard-boiled New York City cop seeking answers for his wife and child's untimely demise at the hands of junkies addicted to a designer drug. Max's Mickey Spillane-esque story leaves him framed for murder and embroiled in a grand conspiracy involving a secret society called the Inner Circle, the game's version of the Illuminati.
A 2003 sequel followed, wherein Max battled Russian mobsters with ties to the Inner Circle who are bent on silencing him. Despite his survival at the end of Max Payne 2, Max is left a broken man. Now a full-blown alcoholic addicted to painkillers, Max, continues a downward spiral that leads him to Brazil, where he works security for a wealthy family in the grimy streets of Sao Paolo, searching for a new life or at least a fitting end to his current one. And as those who have followed his story over the last 11 years can attest, the perpetually bedeviled Max once again ends up with more questions, and dead bodies than he does answers.
A dark and brutal story set in a vibrant, stylish world, Max Payne 3 is far and away one of the most enthralling action games ever made. And like all of Rockstar's titles, the music is integral to the overall experience. But how do you convey the tragic, ber-noir nature of Max Payne while ensuring the player feels like a cinematic action hero painting Sao Paolo's favelas with the brains of a thousand thugs?
Enter HEALTH. Rockstar called on the experimental L.A. band to create a dynamic score for Max Payne 3 that would ebb and flow along with whatever was happening on screen, a method Rockstar successfully incorporated into 2010's critically acclaimed western Red Dead Redemption. SPIN spoke with HEALTH's John Famiglietti on what is was like scoring a Max Payne game 7.5 million copies, countless ersatz bullets, and one Mark Wahlberg movie after the last one.
How did you get involved with Max Payne 3? Rockstar kind of cold-called us. We heard that they wanted to talk to us and then they came to our show in New York.
Were you familiar with Max Payne or Rockstar before? Yeah, totally. I play video games, I know all that stuff!
Do you have any favorites now? I like Dark Souls. It's super-hard. That's why it's so cool.
Max Payne 3 is also quite challenging itself. It is. I'm really stoked on the difficulty. It's really satisfying.
Game development is often quite secretive. Did you see much of the game before starting on any music? Yeah all the music we did was to video captures of someone playing the level or, like, a game tester playing through it really fast. Anything we'd record, we'd play to the video to see if it sounded good.

Ancient group casts for new blood

GOOGLE "Freemasonry" and you're likely to find a host of websites about conspiracies, secrecy and the illuminati.
But the truth, according to the Freemasons, is that the group is about symbols, rituals, allegories and metaphors that help men live a better life.
South Australia and Northern Territory Grand Lodge Grand Master Robert Parsons and Deputy Grand Master Stephen Michalak say that far from being a secret society, the Freemasons simply has an image problem.
They are now focusing on ways to attract younger members keen to give back to their community.
"In the past, going back 10 or 15 years, I believe, in our attempts to attract men to Freemasonry, we've been too old-fashioned," said Mr Parsons, who has been a Freemason since 1968.
"We have not kept up with the times inasmuch as the way to go about it," he said.
"Now we are experiencing a good influx of men, both young and older, who are joining and it's because we have changed our ways with technology.
"It's about time that we did and up until about three years ago we were struggling - we're still struggling as far as membership goes - but it has increased quite considerably over the past couple of years."
Building foreman Jarrod Acres, 25, who joined two months ago, said he wanted to give back to the community.

Jessica Simpson Gives Birth to Baby Girl Maxwell – Other Singers' Odd Baby Names
Posted: May 16, 2012 at 8:12 am
It's about time! After being overdue by more than nine days Jessica Simpson finally gave birth in Los Angeles May 1st to baby girl Maxwell Drew Johnson. The pop singer is engaged to Eric Johnson.
Jessica tweeted about the baby news and posted on her website after the birth. "Eric and I are elated to announce the birth of our baby Maxwell Drew Johnson 9 lbs. 13 oz. 21 ," she said.
Fellow friends and celebs teased the blonde star about her overdue status before the birth on Twitter.
"How has Jessica Simpson still not given birth to this baby? I'm getting frightened," joked Chelsea Handler.
Katy Perry was also curious about the birth. "Has Jessica Simpson had that baby yet?! I'm getting anxious."
Many fans seem to be rather upset over the masculine name pick for a baby girl. Maxwell is by far the least strange name chosen by a celebrity; at least she isn't named Apple or Coco, but is it an odd name for the child? We take a look at the weirdest baby names chosen by our favorite musicians.
Mariah Carey
One year ago Miss Mimi gave birth to twins while husband Nick Cannon played Mariah's 1995 Madison Square Garden performance of her song "Fantasy" in the birthing room. Weird, right? Well, not as weird as the twins' chosen names. The celeb couple picked Moroccan for the baby boy and Monroe for the baby girl. Marilyn Monroe is an idol of Carey's, hence the name for the girl, but the boy's name was picked on a room in the couple's house. That's right. The kid was named after their living room, essentially. Apparently the Moroccan room was where Cannon proposed to the singer. We don't really understand it, but at least the kid is cute.
Beyonce
When Beyonce and Jay Z announced their highly anticipated daughter had been born, everyone wanted to know the name. Some suspected it would be straight up odd considering Bey and Jay are considered hip-hop royalty, but no one could have ever guessed Blue Ivy. Sure, the name is unusual but what was even creepier about the name announcement was the way some people reacted. Certain critics claimed the name was a secret code that proved membership into an occult secret society, the Illuminati. They claimed Blue stood for Born Living Under Evil and Ivy stood for Illuminati's Very Youngest. We're pretty skeptical of the claims, but we suppose we'll never know.

The Doorsie Awards!
Posted: at 8:12 am
With another Premier League season in the can (a contender for Sky's close-season slogan), it is time for Early Doors to blow the cobwebs off its filthy dinner jacket and substitute safety pins for cufflinks.
It's time for ED's legendary end-of-season awards: The Doorsies!
TWITTER TWIT OF THE SEASON Joey Barton: Why do people always want to solve any conflict with a fight? As a pacifist, I find it incredible........ #mindboggles
This before peacefully getting sent off for an elbow on Carlos Tevez, then earning two violent conduct charges for apparently kicking Sergio Aguero and attempting to nut Vincent Kompany. ED can only dream about what might have happened had Mario Balotelli not been restrained by team-mates.
Ryan Babel: I don't know, I think the ref was on drugs.
Babel hits out at Thorsten Kinhofer, who sent him off during Hoffenheim's recent defeat to Hertha Berlin. Fortunately for Kinhofer, he was not given the full Howard Webb Photoshop treatment.
Nathan Eccleston: I aint going to say attack don't let the media make u believe that was terrorist that did it. #O.T.I.S. ['Only the Illuminati Succeed'].
The Liverpool youngster marks the 10th anniversary of the September 11 terrorist atrocities by blaming the masons. Way to cosy up to the club's American owners, Nathan.
And the winner is... JOEY BARTON!

Big Ten commissioner Jim Delany talks with the media during a news conference, Tuesday, May 18, 2010, in Chicago. Delany addressed questions about conference expansion, sticking with the time frame he laid out in December when he said the league would explore its option over the next 12 to 18 months. (AP Photo/M. Spencer Green)
CHICAGO The Big Ten wants to own the Rose Bowl, and so it will, along with their buddies from the Pac-12. Big Ten commissioner Jim Delany has made this clear since college football has veered into serious talk about a playoff last month.
What can Delany and the league expect to gain from playing the Rose Bowl chip? Probably not much.
The playoff models are a major topic of discussion for the Big Tens illuminati, which meets today and Wednesday in Chicago. The Big Ten is in with the playoff state of mind, but it does want some stickiness with the Rose. Makes sense, of course, but is it viable? Is it that big of a deal? Do players whove grown up in the Big Ten footprint identify with the Rose as the ultimate prize anymore?
If Im the Big Ten, my play is from home playoff games. That is a game changer. Rather than play an SEC team in a national semifinal at a sunny place in Florida, get the SEC team at, say, Ann Arbor in December. Weather could be the great equalizer, although the way Nick Saban builds teams at Alabama, it probably wont mean a whole lot. Sabans teams are armadillos, weather-proof, defense-first armadillos.
The Big Ten is going to want to get something out of the playoff discussions. Will it be protecting the Rose Bowl, which hasnt been the sole domain of Big Ten/Pac-12 since 2002, be it? Its a thought, but its sunk by sentiment and the fact that TCU, Oklahoma and Texas have played in Rose Bowls more recently than a lot of Big Ten teams (Iowas last appearance was 1991).
Everything is on sale here, lets stop pretending it isnt. Tradition wears a Nike swoosh. The Rose Bowl isnt and hasnt been the top of the mountain in college football for a long time. The crystal football is the thing, and a playoff gets the Big Ten to the table.
Lets do the playoffs and lets do them the way the NFL does, home sites. If Lambeau Field can host an NFC title game, then Ann Arbor, Columbus, Madison, East Lansing, Lincoln and Iowa City can host national semifinals.
The Rose Bowl will fit in somewhere. Its not going to vanish, but the Big Ten needs to elevate its thinking to the crystal football. That is the thing.

Congratulations to Steve Jackson Games!

Just a quick note to let you know (if you havent already heard the cheering in the streets) that Steve Jackson Games (SJG) finished its OGRE Kickstarter project with $923,680 raised in backer funding. Yes, thats right almost (pinky to corner of mouth) one million dollars raised for a game that sold well over 30 years ago for $5 and came in a small plastic baggie.
One major milestone that was reached was the $700,000 mark which is where SJG promised to do a Car Wars Kickstarter campaign. Ill be writing up a Retro Review hopefully in the next few weeks on Car Wars, but the bad news is that we wont likely see the Car Wars Kickstarter for some time and the actual game isnt expected to be delivered (if its successfully funded yeah, right!) until late 2013. Of course, this gives all of us who backed OGRE plenty of time to start saving our pennies, selling plasma, and/or visiting Vegas to raise the proper funds that this next SJG Kickstarter will surely devour.
SJG definitely has a handle on how to deal with stretch rewards, and every time we (backers) thought wed reached the maximum money that could be raised along would come another stretch award that enticed a large number to either increase their funding or another large number to finally make the commitment.
2012 and 2013 are going to be interesting times for SJG fans, and I imagine that the success of this Kickstarter campaign is going to have other gaming companies looking at reviving some of their old titles. (I would love to see SJGs Illuminati redone, but one big non-SJG game on my wish list would be Traveller.)
What about you? Any classic games youd like to see given the Kickstarter treatment? And dont say Metamorphosis Alpha that ones already been successfully funded!
Congratulations to Steve Jackson Games!

UK court rules Nokia infringed patent, Finns party on anyway
Posted: at 7:14 pm
A top UK court has ruled that Nokia's old 3G handsets infringed a telecoms patent owned by technology warehouse IPCom, which wants a ban on every mobile made by the Finns.
The Court of Appeal yesterday rejected Nokia's attempt to dismiss IPCom's case against it. The two companies, both of which claimed victory, continue to argue over the validity, applicability and utility of mobile phone patents originally filed by Bosch.
This latest ruling means that, in the eyes of UK law, Nokia's older handsets infringed IPCom's patent EP 1 841 268, but that's far from the end of the matter. The Finns are still hoping to have the patent invalidated at a European level, and got a ruling along those lines from European Patent Office last week - a ruling against which IPCom is appealing against.
If IPCom is successful then Nokia will be running out of places to go, but if the patent family is indeed ruled invalid at an EU level then its IPCom who'll be looking for alternative vectors of attack.
Not that it is bereft of options, the EP 1 841 268 is only one of the patents which IPCom acquired from Bosch when the engineering company decided to get out of mobile telephony. IPCom launched its case against Nokia in 2007 and both parties have been pissing money into lawyers' pockets since then.
The patent covers the mechanism used by a 3G phone to prioritise calls made by a specific group; so when the New World Order seizes control of Earth, Illuminati agents will be able to make calls despite our overloaded networks. That's part of the 3G standard (the priority, not the Illuminati), but the mechanism by which agents' phone identify themselves is open to patent. IPCom reckons that phones from Nokia, and just about everyone else, use a mechanism covered by its patent, or did until 2008 at least.
When Nokia launched the N96 it changed the way in which phones identify themselves, and since then the Finns have introduced half a dozen variations - some of which have been ruled as non-infringing. Nokia claims everything after the N96 is unencumbered, but IPCom disputes that and also reckons Nokia's refusal to share all the details of the new mechanisms (which are commercially sensitive) means it can't be certain Nokia isn't still infringing.
During the case against which Nokia was appealing the Finns argued that the patent was too obvious, that it was a natural development and that modifications made it too broad. The court rejected those arguments, Nokia appealed against that decision, and has now lost that appeal.
IPCom claims to be offering Nokia a FRAND (Fair, Reasonable And Non-Discriminatory) deal, but FRAND is normally reserved for patents that are essential if a device is going to conform to a standard, something Nokia fiercely disputes. FRAND is also normally a reciprocal arrangement between companies within an industry, but IPCom is in the patent-exploitation industry.
Next stage is the EU court, but if IPCom wins then Nokia will only be the first casualty of IPCom's ongoing business model.
