European Online Gambling Market (2022 – 2027): The Stars Group, The Kindered Group, William Hill and Bet365 Dominate – ResearchAndMarkets.com -…
Posted: at 1:53 am
DUBLIN--(BUSINESS WIRE)--The "Europe Online Gambling Market - Growth, Trends, COVID-19 Impact, and Forecasts (2022 - 2027)" report has been added to ResearchAndMarkets.com's offering.
The European online gambling market is projected to grow, witnessing a CAGR of 9.20% during the forecast period (2020-2025).
Key Highlights
Growing hardware and software innovations and the rising popularity of casino and sports betting gambling, along with enhanced internet penetration, are expected to drive the growth of the European online gambling market.
The dominating players have been focusing on mergers over the past few years, primarily to increase their stake in the market and to improve profit margins. For instance, Paddy Power PLC and Bet fair PLC merged to form Paddy Power Betfair PLC.
In order to gain a competitive advantage and compete with the established players, companies are developing innovative offerings in the region.
Key Market Trends
Desktop Devices Holding The Major Share
Online gaming started on desktop computers, and many online casinos still focus most of their development on making sure that players get a smooth and well-presented user-interface experience. Desktops and laptops are considered to be the most convenient devices for online gambling owing to their bigger screen size.
This factor provides the gamer with the ultimate online gaming experience. One of the major benefits of using the desktop as an option to play online is that the number of mobile casino games on offer is significantly fewer than desktop gaming.
Moreover, some of the mobile casino games only offer a few selections of deposit options as compared to a desktop site. However, the rising penetration of smartphones, owing to their convenience, is affecting the growth and demand for the gambling market operated through desktops/laptops.
The United Kingdom Leading The Market
Sports betting in the United Kingdom is provided by the private sector and is conducted within a very competitive market. Online gambling is legal and regulated in the country by the Gambling Commission, which was formed by the Gambling Act of 2005.
Online poker, sports betting, casino games, bingo, and lottery-style games all fall under the purview of the Gambling Commission. As per the data published by OfCom (The Office of Communications, United Kingdom) in 2015, 6% of the users aged between 25-34 and 45-54 years engaged themselves in online gambling at least once in every three months.
The second highest age group was between 16 and 24 years, which accounted for 4%. Rizk Casino, 888 Holdings, Casumo Casino, bet365, and LeoVegas are some of the prominent players operating in the UK online gambling market.
Competitive Landscape
Bet365, 888 Holdings Plc, GVC Holdings PLC, Kindred Group PLC, William Hill PLC, and Betsson AB are some of the major players having a significant presence across Europe. nMany online gambling companies rely on third-party providers, such as Playtech, for software solutions.
However, some companies choose to backward integrate with technology providers. For instance, 888poker heavily invested in developing its own software and online gaming technology, primarily not to rely on suppliers.
Similarly, William Hill, a bookmaker company located in the United Kingdom, was focused on backward integration, and thus, acquired Grand Parade, a software development company, in 2016.

Traditional gambling offers various games of chance where players may enjoy different types of wagers. There are many locations across the world where one can partake in this type of entertainment. Some examples include casinos, racetracks, horse tracks, card rooms, and locale.
The key aspects of gambling at brick-and-mortar facilities include the following:
Online gambling has become more and more popular over recent years. About 2,000 online casinos have emerged that allow players to enjoy games of chance right from the comfort of their own homes. The fact that youre able to log in with your home computer means that you can access these sites 24 hours per day, 7 days a week. This allows for an optimal experience for those who cannot get out as often as theyd like due to work or family obligations.
The main features of online casinos are:
If youre not sure which of these two types of gambling is better, there are several factors to consider. Here are the main ones:
All in all, which option works best for you depends on your expectations. A traditional casino would be a clear choice if you want to have an unforgettable night out with your friends. However, if youre going to simply play your favorite casino game without spending extra on transportation, then online casinos will do the trick. The latter also offers better game versatility and more generous bonuses for all players. Still, this isnt enough to ignore all the fun and socialization found at land-based casinos only. It really is a hard choice to make, isnt it?

Investing In Cryptocurrencies vs Crypto Gambling Do They Have Anything In Common? – River Journal Staff
Posted: at 1:52 am
Photo: Shutterstock.com
For years, people around the world have been debating about the difference between investing and gambling. This debate is not specific to crypto, the same conversation has been facilitated by many about the other markets as well.
While the majority of market participants have made up their minds about investing being different from gambling, many questions have started to rise with the introduction of crypto investing.
There are several reasons why this conversation is so popular. First, is the high volatility of cryptocurrencies. These are assets the prices of which are moving at a very fast pace. At one point, a certain crypto asset can be skyrocketing, while in just a few hours it can drop.
Many believe that due to the nature of cryptocurrencies, investing in them is very much like gambling. However, it would be much better if market participants tried to view crypto investing from all different angles.
Lets say that there is a crypto investor who analyzes the price movements in the market in great detail. This trader follows a well-structured trading strategy, with a good risk management technique. In such a scenario, it would be very hard to call this process gambling. When there is a trader with a plan on what to do it is not gambling.
On the other hand, there might be another trader, who does not follow a specific strategy. Rather, he or she is simply speculating, without depending on any factual information. This is very similar to gambling.
So, it can be said that crypto investing can have nothing to do with gambling or be exactly the same as gambling. It all depends on the individual trading strategy adopted by the investor and the attitude that he or she has.
Whether you think investing is gambling or not, it should not be noted that cryptocurrencies have become a huge part of the gambling industry. But, what exactly makes cryptocurrencies a good asset for gambling?
The number one answer to this question is privacy. Cryptocurrencies are viewed to be a great payment solution for gamblers as these payments are almost impossible to be tracked. Offering such high privacy has made crypto assets a very important part of the online gambling industry.
There are numerous bitcoin trading casinos available in the market. These casinos offer gamblers the opportunity to make deposits in a fast and convenient manner. The number of bitcoin casinos has increased dramatically over the past few years, and anyone can easily find a BTC gambling site that allows customers to make deposits and withdrawals using digital coins.
These crypto gambling online casinos not only allow individuals to make deposits and withdrawals in digital assets but also gives them the opportunity to gamble using cryptocurrencies.
This shows how much the crypto market has grown over the past few years. It has managed to become a very important and useful part of the many industries around the world and gambling is only just a small part of this.
When investing in cryptocurrencies, it is quite easy to act according to your emotions. Things are moving at a very fast pace in the crypto market, and many traders tend to feel like they are missing out on major opportunities.
This can turn crypto investing activities into gambling. Feeling like the market is moving ahead with you can lead you to make a lot of decisions that you would not make otherwise. While it is true that some of these decisions can make you some profits, it is also true that they can lead to major losses.
FOMO, which stands for Fear of Missing Out, is associated with almost every single trading market. But in the case of the crypto industry, it tends to have the most impact. This is mostly true due to the nature of the crypto market and its high volatility.
So, when does crypto investing starts to become gambling? A simple answer to this question is that crypto investing becomes gambling when a trader decides to turn his or her back to the trading plan and choose a new direction only because they feel like doing so.
If you are a trader who has a well-formed trading plan, which comes with good risk management, it is hard to imagine a situation where you would have to change it up altogether. Making emotional decisions can have a huge impact on investors profits and turn investing into gambling.
The cryptocurrency trading market has become very popular over the past few years. People of all different backgrounds and interests are now starting to become part of the market, and every single one of them has a different idea on how they want to be making profits.
Some people want to make profits in the very short term, taking advantage of the small price movements of the crypto assets. On the other hand, there are investors who want to buy crypto assets and wait for the price to increase dramatically in order to make greater profits.
There are some traders who do very extensive research about the market, while others make decisions in a very fast manner. Some traders end up gambling on the possible price movements of crypto assets, while others make well-informed decisions.

Montana Ranks in the Top Five Gambling-Addicted States – newstalk955.com
Posted: at 1:52 am
There's no doubt you've seen the many casinos that line the streets here in Billings, and it's highlighted a very serious problem issue of gambling addiction. I personally have seen people go through it and it never comes out good, but I wanted to know where Montana in general ranks in terms of the severity of gambling addiction. Bad news everyone, we rank as one of the top five worst states for it.
When someone is addicted to gambling, they aren't necessarily addicted to the games themselves, they're addicted to the rush of dopamine one gets when they win. So, if they lose, they'll usually keep going just to find that feeling once again.
This can absolutely ruin someone's life, however, because gambling costs money and soon the addict will find themselves out of money or in large amounts of debt. They may even resort to theft to get the money they need to keep going.
According to data from Wallethub.com, Montana ranks number 4 in the nation in gambling addiction, with only South Dakota, Mississippi, and Nevada above it. Information for their research was found using two statistics they call "gambling friendliness" and "gambling problem and treatment."
Gambling friendliness looks to be the accessibility and legality of gambling within that particular state, and gambling problem and treatment relate to the number of people with gambling disorders and the number of ways to treat those particular disorders. Montana's scores were #3 in gambling friendliness and #3 in gambling treatment, so it seems we have a lot of ways to access gambling, but we also have lots of ways to treat that issue.
If you or someone you know is suffering from a gambling problem, there is help. You can contact the National Problem Gambling Helpline at 1-800-522-4700for more information.

A survey by the Australian Football League Fans Association (AFLFA) has revealed that a large number of AFL fans are unhappy with the prominence of gambling advertising during matches, with 37% of respondents listing it as a key concern.
The survey took place in late 2021. A total of 860 responses were recorded, with most participants being in the 55-64 years old age bracket.
Participants were asked a variety of questions regarding their experiences as AFL fans.
When asked what their key concerns were, 37% of participants chose gambling advertising. This was second only to umpiring and rule changes at 40.5%.
In choosing their top concern 11.6% chose gambling advertising, the third-most common concern behind game access being impacted by Covid-19 at 11.7% and umpiring and rule changes at 25.6%.
A number of participants called for the removal of gambling advertising altogether during games, suggesting that all gambling-related features and sponsorships be banned.
Others suggested that gambling advertising be reduced.
One comment under the kids and family portion of the survey suggested that gambling should no longer be normalised by the AFL for the sake of children.
Elsewhere, the blaring ads at the ground and the non-stop betting messaging was named as a common complaint in the the fan experience section of the survey. The noise of advertisements and music was named as a disruptive factor several times.
More than one in three fans worry about gambling ads, which was more than we expected, said Cheryl Critchley, president of the AFLFA. Many have told us that they dont like them and are concerned that they are normalising gambling for children.
Researchers aredemonstrating this, and the AFLFA supports the work of various state government initiatives and campaigns focused on countering the normalisation of gambling and sport.

Nairobi has launched a fresh assault on the multi-billion betting industry with legislative proposals that restrict gambling to five-star hotels with casinos and impose a four-year jail term or a Ksh10 million ($87,519) fine for opening outside of operating hours.

If passed, it will mark a departure from the current situation where gamblers can place bets any time of the day.
South B ward representative Waithera Chege, the sponsor of the amendments, said the Bill is meant to have the youth engage in productive work and prevent gambling addiction.
All licensed betting, lotteries and gaming premises and online gaming shall only operate within the hours of 8pm and 6am. A person who contravenes this provision will be liable, upon conviction, to a fine of Ksh10 million or four years imprisonment, or both, said Ms Chege.
The Bill also seeks to push telecoms operators to cancel all the USSD codes used by radio stations in their gaming activities.

Ms Chege has raised concern about how Kenyans are spending a lot of their productive time on gambling.
A 2017 Geopoll survey ranked Kenya as the country with the highest number of youths engaging in gambling in sub-Saharan Africa.
The report estimated that 76 percent of Kenyans were taking part in betting, with a majority of them being youth aged between 17 and 35.
