Cyberpunk 2077 Happy Together walkthrough guide: How to complete the side job and more
Modified Oct 13, 2022 01:14 AM IST
Cyberpunk 2077 might still be controversial, but it cannot be denied that it has its fair share of some great side missions and content. One such example is a side quest called Happy Together. This one is particularly memorable due to the heavy-handed nature of the subject it deals with: depression and self-harm.
There are two core endings to this mission, one of which is the bad ending. This guide explains how to successfully complete the side job in Cyberpunk 2077.
The Cyberpunk 2077 side job takes place in the same megabuilding as V's apartment in Little China, Watson. When players head downstairs from V's apartment, they can see a couple of NCPD cops banging on someone's door. Wait until they're done and talk to them. The following two options will pop up when approaching them:
Initially, one of the officers known as Mendez will tell V to mind their business, but his partner Petrova will suggest that they might be able to help. Another couple of non-consequential dialogs appear:
It turns out that their friend Barry, a former NCPD officer, broke down after his best friend died. Thinking he would end up doing something hasty, the two officers were worried for his safety but he has not been responding to their calls. Another prompt asks V to check in on Barry after he has calmed down, which can be responded as:
After this, players can approach Barry's apartment (numbered 0613) to try to lure him out. If V's attempt fails as well (regardless of whether the blue optional dialog was picked), players will be notified that they should try again later. At this point, skip time forward by at least three hours and then knock again. This time, the broody ex-cop shows up and lets V in.
This next part is important. Be sure to choose the following dialog choices to a tee; any other choice and it will result in a bad ending where Barry ends up killing himself.
Once the player sits down with the man, he opens up about the death of his best friend, Andrew. Another key point is to exhaust all optional dialog choices (highlighted in blue). Here's how it goes:
The next two choices only wrap up the conversation so pick any:
Stand up to exit Barry's apartment. Players will now have two main options:
It is important that the optional objective of visiting Andrew's grave be met to get a good ending. Head to the Columbarium in Westbrook, North Oak. Go to the area objective marker. Andrew's niche will be the panel on the left side of the highlighted rectangular yellow area. It turns out Andrew is not a human but a tortoise, a revelation that also surprises V.
Head back to the cops where players will be offered three choices. Pick the following:
After revealing Andrew's true nature to the cops and berating them about not being good friends towards Barry, the duo will decide to make amends with him. Barry lets them into his apartment. This finishes the Happy Together side job on a good note in Cyberpunk 2077.
If players do not visit Andrew's grave and talk to the cops right away, V will receive a prompt to check on Barry after a few hours. The next time V comes around, they will find Mendez in a pool of blood in front of Barry's apartment, which has been sealed off with tape. A grim ending for a troubled individual.
The game recently got its Edgerunners content update while the Phantom Liberty DLC expansion is scheduled for a 2023 release. Cyberpunk 2077 is available on PS4, PS5, XB1, XSX|S and PC.

Has the world finally forgiven Cyberpunk 2077? – Gamesradar
Posted: at 1:31 pm
Cautiously optimistic is how you might describe the most level-headed Cyberpunk 2077 console players right now. Back in March, when CD Projekt Red rolled out the beleaguered open world ARPG's 'Next-Generation Update' and Patch 1.5, a semblance of a working, functioning, and finally unbroken game poked its head above the dystopian future parapet. Cyberpunk 2077 on PC has always looked and played wonderfully, but its console cousin has, as I'm sure you're aware by this stage, struggled somewhat since its PS4 release in December 2020. Last month, the game launched its Patch 1.6 an Edgerunners-themed update, named after the Netflix anime, with a host of tie-ins to the show which saw its concurrent player count boom across all platforms in tandem.
Between times, a Night City livestream teased the incoming Phantom Liberty expansion that's due in 2023, and, just this week, Cyberpunk 2077 featured prominently during CD Projekt Red's surprise reveal-all investors call. Alongside mention of a new The Witcher trilogy, and a new game that's still in its "conceptual phase", Cyberpunk 2077 Orion was teased a proper Cyberpunk 2077 sequel that CDPR says will "prove the full power and potential of the Cyberpunk universe". A quick glance on social media in the immediate aftermath of the call showed excited fans cheering, still-disgruntled players jeering, and just about everyone asking questions of its setting, its premise, and whether or not after everything that's happened in and around this game over the last almost-two years, is promising so much more at this point the right move?
It was exciting, and, for me at least, felt like the most vocal buzz we've seen around this game since pre-launch. Which keeps leading me back to the same question: Has the world now forgiven Cyberpunk 2077?
Forgive but not forget, right? I'm sure that's the stance of many players who felt short-changed in the wake of Cyberpunk 2077's console launch. I too was left upset at the tail-end of a shit year, hoping for the slightest reprieve by way of a video game I'd been looking forward to for literal years. It didn't turn out that way, of course, but, full credit to CD Projekt Red, the studio appears to have hauled its once derided action role-player from the gutter, kicked it into shape, and is now seemingly finding its stride again with a flood of new and returning players.
If video game history has taught us anything, it's that hype and overpromising rarely leads to anything positive. What seemed to accentuate Cyberpunk 2077's galling console launch issues was the fact Hello Games' No Man's Sky had walked a similar path just a few years before. In that instance, players deemed the developer and publisher Sony to have bigged-up the open world action adventure-meets-survival game so much, and for such a long time, that what released on August 8, 2016 did not match its promise and promotional materials at all. Fast forward six years, and No Man's Sky is flying (pardon the pun) after an avalanche of sustained quality of life tweaks, myriad updates, and, most recently, a No Man's Sky Nintendo Switch launch. Time and effort, it seems, is a great healer.
"Cyberpunk 2077 is a good example of how quickly good faith can be lost and, perhaps more importantly, how long it can take to be redeemed."
From Daikatana to Duke Nukem: Forever; Mighty No. 9 to Star Fox Zero; Resident Evil 6 to Peter Molyneux's Godus, the last 20-odd years have been filled with games that once promised the world, but ultimately buckled under the weight of their own hype. Being able to bounce back, then, is no mean feat, and while CD Projekt Red entered this self-inflicted storm having been previously revered for The Witcher 3, Cyberpunk 2077 is a good example of how quickly good faith can be lost and, perhaps more importantly, how long it can take to be redeemed.
So has the world now forgiven Cyberpunk 2077? It's possible CD Projekt Red's recent multi-project announcement was driven in-part by a desire to restore more of that lost faith, to salvage more of its once untouchable reputation, or as a statement of intent with an eye on potential future investors. On the players' end of things, I'm not surprised some people are excited by the future. Given how brutal and outspoken the internet is, I'm also not surprised that some others can't, and will never, forgive. As for the most level-headed Cyberpunk 2077 console players among us? Well, we're simply cautiously optimistic.

Cyberpunk 2077: How To Get $200,000+ Right At The Start Of The Game | Corpo Life Path Trick – Gameranx
Posted: at 1:31 pm
Using this trick, you can take your intro cash into the next phase of the game.
You can buy some of the best gear very early in Cyberpunk 2077 the big problem is earning the eddies. Cash doesnt come quick in Night City, and it can take a huge chunk of gameplay before youre rolling around with $35,000+ to buy legendary cyberdecks and other gear. If you want to start the game with a fat pile of cash, youll need a little patience and a very specific career path.
This trick relies on the Corpo Path. At the start of Cyberpunk 2077, youre given three options. You can play as a lowly Street Kid, a roaming desert Nomad, or a powerful Corpo agent. Depending on your choice, youll unlock additional voice lines, insights, and side-jobs later in the game. But none of them really give you a reward at the start. After your downfall, you start with nothing. Even the Corpo, who starts with a huge bank account, loses everything before the main story truly begins.
But what if there was a way to keep all that cash. Theres a way, and it is ridiculously simple. Youll just need a little patience to keep (almost) every cent.

Very early in the Corpo Life Path questline, one of the three Life Paths available at the start of Cyberpunk 2077, youll go to the Mox Club. Briefly, youll be free to explore before progressing. If you check your inventory, youll see your character starts with almost $200,000~ eddies. Before you can actually spend it, youll lose it all.
Unless you use this trick. The game will remove all money from your inventory, but it wont remove any items youve found. We can use this loophole to our advantage.
Now you can progress and complete the Corpo Life Path introduction. After the intro, youll still have your giant pile of soda cans available. You can sell them immediately for a huge stack of cash, or you can earn even more money with another simple trick.
This all takes time. Cyberpunk 2077 is a long game, so dont be afraid to do some early grinding for a very valuable prize. Youll earn even more money than you started with! This is the same method we described in our cash farming guide right here but this way youll start the game with a huge nest egg.

BLIND GUARDIAN Streams Cyberpunk-Inspired Video For "Life Beyond The Spheres" – Metal Injection
Posted: at 1:31 pm
Blind Guardian is now streaming their Cyberpunk-inspired music video for the single "Life Beyond The Spheres" off their latest record The God Machine. Is there a slight cheese factor to the video? Of course. Is it incredibly fun with a fantastic Blind Guardian song behind it? Absolutely, and you're going to be way into it. We sure as hell are.
"I'm a big supporter of innovation, to bring the whole music genre forward to something else. Maybe even find a new something that wasn't there before, I think with 'Life Beyond the Spheres,' I knew I wanted to go somewhere in the soundtrack direction," said guitarist Andr Olbrich.
"At that time, I was playing cyberpunk, so my inspiration was a little bit cyberpunkish. I tried to bring in a metal soundtrack in a cyberpunk direction, more spacey than we ever did before. Hansi grabbed that feeling and I think now we have a song we never did before, not even close to that kind of genre. I like that, that is a very innovative song, I'm proud of this too."
"'Life Beyond the Spheres' leads us to spaces unknown and places where no man has gone before," added vocalist Hansi Krsch. "It certainly delivers music that is not from this world. There is always hope. This is what the song means to me."

Shares of Cyberpunk 2077 publisher surge after announcing a slew of new games – CNBC

Shares of Polish game publisher CD Projekt rose sharply Wednesday after the company announced several major games it's working on in the next few years, including new installments in its popular Cyberpunk and Witcher franchises.
In a strategy update late Tuesday, CD Projekt revealed a slew of new titles currently in development, including a sequel to Cyberpunk 2077 codenamed "Orion." The game "will take the Cyberpunk franchise further and continue harnessing the potential of this dark future universe," the firm said.
Shares of CD Projekt were up around 7% Wednesday afternoon, having earlier surged as much as 9% at the market open.
It comes after a series of mishaps that have plagued the company over the last two years. After much hype, Cyberpunk 2077's launch in 2020 was met with rage from gamers who experienced bugs and poor performance on older consoles. The game's launch came the same year that new machines from Sony and Microsoft were being released.
Backlash to the blunder was so fierce that at one point Sony removed the game from its digital PlayStation Store. Cyberpunk 2077 was later reinstated on the service.
Since then, CD Projekt made several updates and improvements to Cyberpunk 2077, while the release of an anime TV series based on the futuristic sci-fi franchise, "Cyberpunk: Edgerunners," has helped revive interest in the game.
CD Projekt says it has sold 20 million copies of its Cyberpunk 2077 game to date, and over 65 million copies of all three games in its Witcher franchise.
Last year, the company suffered a ransomware attack that saw hackers steal the source code to several of its games including The Witcher 3 and Cyberpunk 2077 and sell it on the dark web. Notably, CD Projekt at the time refused to pay the ransom demanded by hackers.
Despite a surge in CD Projekt's share price Wednesday, the stock is down more than 40% since the start of the year.
Here were some other highlights from CD Projekt's strategy update:
The company also revealed its co-founder and joint-CEO Marcin Iwinski will be stepping down after 28 years in the role. Iwinski will continue on as joint-CEO until the end of 2022, after which he will become chairman of the supervisory board.
He will remain "a major shareholder" and "active and engaged" in supporting the board, according to a statement Tuesday.
Three new games in the Witcher role-playing game series are expected to launch in the coming years, including a new installment in the franchise codenamed "Polaris." Previously announced by the company in March, the game is a follow-up to the firm's highly-acclaimed The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. It is currently in pre-production.
CD Projekt did not specify a timeline for when the new games would come out but said its three new original Witcher titles would launch within a six-year period after Polaris' release.
The company plans to push into online multiplayer with some of its future titles, including another game in the Witcher franchise codenamed "Sirius."
"We are planning to add multiplayer to some of our future titles, and we are planning to do more in the area of TV and film," said Michal Nowakowski, CD Projekt's senior vice president of business development.
CD Projekt's multiplayer ambitions have a lot of potential due to higher engagement in multiplayer," Peter Garnry, head of equity strategy at Saxo Bank, wrote in a note Wednesday.
CD Projekt also announced a totally new game it is working on beyond its main two franchises, codenamed Hadar. The firm did not give away much detail but said it "currently in the conceptual phase."
It was an unusual display of transparency in the games industry. Big publishers often remain tight-lipped about planned major releases up until they are ready to present some visuals and gameplay to fans, typically at large trade shows.
Companies like Sony and Nintendo have increasingly eschewed showy industry conferences like the E3 expo in favor of smaller-scale updates. After being cancelled once in 2020 and then replaced with a digital alternative in 2021, E3 was again scrapped this year by organizers, who cited health risks surrounding Covid-19.

‘Cyberpunk 2077’ Re-Review: Two Years Later, What’s Changed? – Forbes
Posted: October 2, 2022 at 4:39 pm
Cyberpunk 2077
Ive spent the last few weeks playing what is essentially another full playthrough of Cyberpunk 2077. A long time ago, I left one of my PC Vs, an experimental build that was going to be focused on going in guns blazing, stuck at level 15 or so. My goal was to come back to her later once the game had been more fixed and patched with QoL changes added. Now with the games recent resurgence, I figured this was as good a time as any to return to her, and 30 hours and 35 more levels later, I have a maxed V who needs to go meet Hanako at Embers.
Previously, Ive written up compilations of patch notes with the laundry lists of changes that have been made to the game in the last two years, but actually playing through it is a different story. Heres what Ive actually noticed has changed since my first playthroughs. And its a good amount.
Performance, Stability, Bugs While I didnt encounter any bugs that fully broke my game in my initial Cyberpunk launch playthrough, there were plenty of annoying ones to be found. Here, however, with thousands of fixes in place, I think I maybe reloaded once to fix something stuck, but out of 30 hours, thats not so bad. Sure, you get the occasional odd glitch like a stretched out corpse or a guy standing on top of his motorcycle seat, but we are miles from the launch era where bug compilation videos from the game were lighting the internet on fire.
Cyberpunk 2077
The Visuals While Cyberpunk always looked best on PC, it really has been taken to a new level these days. Night City is, what I would argue, the best looking modern/futuristic cityscape to ever appear in a game, and a truly gorgeous place to simply wander around and explore. This was not always the case on console, but here, its a beautiful game, one that has made a hobby of taking photos around the world.
The Living City CDPR has noticeably, dramatically improved the density of the population of the city, where on my PC build at least, Night City is swarming with pedestrians, which are no longer clones of each other, nor do they react in goofy, identical ways when theres danger nearby. Thats all been patched. And Id argue there are enough random events as you move through a fresh playthrough, crimes, occasional conversations, to make the city feel more alive than its been previously.
The New Missions There are not many, but I noticed a few of the new quests seeping into old ones, like one guy I rescued was referenced in a different gig when he wasnt before. I very much appreciated the rewards I racked up from Fixers as I played, which did not used to be a thing, but they give you powerful weapons and good cars now that are useful as youre playing. These are all best experienced with a new playthrough, less so going back to a game save where youve already beaten everything.
Difficulty Difficulty in the game has been rebalanced, both in terms of giving you more XP and cash rewards on higher difficulties, and also making those difficultiesharder. My guns blazing build is strong, but its still possible that Im killed even with like six Cyberware mods to give me bonus lives if my health drops. Very Hard isvery hard now, depending on your build. Certain things like quickhacks and Sandevistan cyberware are still overpowered, but you want a bit of that so you make sure youre still having fun and not just getting brutalized.
Cyberpunk 2077
Customization I cannot speak highly enough about the new transmog system thats been introduced, which allows you to trash all your gear, saving you hundreds of pounds of carry weight, but keep all those styles for customized V looks that retain your powerful gear benefits underneath. And the fact that you can change your Vs face and hair after all this time is great, albeit thats something that should have existed from the start, and its absurd it took so long to arrive. I just wish that more clothes and tattoo and cyberware options had been added, but you have to purely rely on mods for those.
Driving It just feels better. I know they patched in a bunch of changes to how cars handle, and its justmuch better. Car combat however, remains not a thing, and thats something theyve said they will be patching in later. A bit late, that.
The Weather One thing I noticed is that Cyberpunk realized how cool its dust storms were, and now those occur more often, and actually in the city, not just the Badlands. Between that and an increase in rain as well, its a lot more of a Blade Runner 2049 vibe, and makes the city feel more alive than before, and incredibly visually stimulating.
Cyberpunk 2077
The Core The core of the game is the same, and whats missing before is still missing. Life paths mean more or less nothing. You are herded into essentially one relationship based on your Vs gender and preference. I still find Johnny extremely annoying for 90% of the game. Too many interesting sidequests end in frustrating loose ends. But, I maintain that the good quests here are still some of the best in the genre, thanks to NPCs like Panam, River and Judy. My re-run of Pyramid Song with Judy last night reminded me of just how much they nailed some things here.
I liked Cyberpunk even when it was broken. I didnt like the things that were broken, and I lamented that CDPR released it in the state it was in. But I could see the good game under the surface, and now after two years, its way, way easier for everyone else to see that too. Im not being duped into giving it a new actual score here, but yes, I recommend you giving it a shot, if you avoided it this long.

Cyberpunk 2077’s revival continues as it becomes one of the most popular games on Steam Deck – Eurogamer.net
Posted: at 4:39 pm
Cyberpunk 2077's recent revival includes an uptick in players jumping into Night City on Steam Deck.
According to stats shared by Valve, Cyberpunk 2077 is the fourth most popular game on Steam Deck by total hours played, topped only by Stardew Valley, Elden Ring, and Vampire Survivors - in that order.
We've already told you about Cyberpunk 2077's second life. Cyberpunk 2077 initially shifted 13m copies when it arrived for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One in December 2020, but interest in the game dropped when word of its technical issues spread.
Now, thanks to Netflix's anime spin-off Edgerunners and a new patch, developer CD Projekt Red recently revealed the game had now sold over 20m copies and recently hit one million daily players. Again.
As for the rest of the top 10? From tenth to fifth place respectively, Steam Deck players have been enjoying Disney Dreamlight Valley, Cult of the Lamb, Marvel's Spider-Man Remastered, The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Special Edition, No Man's Sky, and Hades.
Following this week's news that Google is shutting down its Stadia platform, Cyberpunk 2077 players are requesting its developer CD Projekt makes save files from Stadia available on the cloud.
The lengthy RPG has been available on Google's Stadia platform, but now that's shutting down, players will no longer have access to their save files without cloud support.

Want to play Cyberpunk, Ghost Runner through a set-top box? Heres how 5G will help – Business Today
Posted: at 4:39 pm
Reliance Jio, one of the telecom operators to roll out 5G services, has come up with a first of its kind cloud gaming services. In this cloud gaming, a person can play high-end games on the set-top box and all you need is just a stable internet connection with speed up to 30 mbps.
This is something new, as gamers would know that to play such heavy and high-end games, one earlier needed to have a heavy machine plus a lot of storage space. Also needed was a high-end CPU. But now with games being played on a set-top box, all requirements of storage space, high-end CPU have completely been done away with.
As far as the pricing is concerned, Jio has brought it down by levying a monthly recharge.
Now with cloud gaming, one can play popular games such as Cyberpunk, Ghost Runner, and Apex Legends using a set-top box. With the 5G network launched today, you can play these heavy games without any hardware and with almost no lag. You can play these games lag free with the Jio controller.
With 5G, the speed of the internet will increase significantly, and e-sports in India, which is heavily dependent on low latency, will drastically improve.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi officially launched 5G in India at the sixth edition of India Mobile Congress 2022, today. 5G will offer speeds that are multiple times faster than 4G, as well as support lag-free connectivity. It will allow ultra-low latency connections allowing downloading of full-length and high-quality videos or movies within seconds even in crowded areas. 5G is expected to enable solutions for e-health, mobile cloud gaming, connected vehicles, immersive augmented reality and metaverse experiences.

How to Read Shards in Cyberpunk 2077 – Attack of the Fanboy
Posted: at 4:39 pm
Shards in Cyberpunk 2077 are small bits of lore that you will come across as you explore the different streets and alleys of Night City. This is an effective way of delivering story-based information in the game.
These shards are often associated with every single activity in Cyberpunk 2077. From giving you instructions about feeding Nibbles to informing you about different Cyberpsychos in the game, these shards often contain important information about a certain activity. While being able to read shards in Cyberpunk 2077 might be a bit difficult for most players, picking up a shard is as easy as pressing a button in the game.
With that out of the way, heres how you read shards in the game!
Shards appear as small wrench icons inside the game. Although they wont show up on your map, if youre close enough to a shard, you should see a small wrench-like icon pop up. Interact with this icon and you should see a pop-up notification on the left-hand side of your screen. You can read these shards directly from this screen itself.
In case you miss the notification, you will still be able to access these shards. All you need to do is head over to the Character menu in the game and then navigate to the Journal banner. Let your pointer hover over this banner and a sub-banner with the word Shard should appear. Click on this sub-banner to access all your shards in Cyberpunk 2077.
Every single shard that youve picked up can be found in the list here. Moreover, the shards that you havent read are marked as New, so you cant really miss them. Although this overall process is very simple, there are very little in-game instructions on how to read these shards.
Overall, the Edgerunners update is proving to be a boon for the game. Thanks to this update, you can now play as David Martinez and Lucy from the Edgerunners animated series!
