How to transfer your Cyberpunk 2077 save from Xbox One to Xbox Series X – Digital Trends

Now that many of you have started getting your hands on Microsofts new Xbox Series X|S console, you might want to migrate your saves from Xbox One. Specifically, if you started playing Cyberpunk 2077 on any Xbox One console, whether an original model, the S, or the X, youre able to move that save to your fancy new Xbox Series X along with the game itself, thanks to a couple of nifty features.

The process is simple enough, and in this handy guide, well show you exactly how to move your Cyberpunk 2077 save from Xbox One to Xbox Series X|S.

Thanks to Microsofts network transfer function, you can easily move your Cyberpunk 2077 save from Xbox One to Xbox Series X|S via the internet. To do so, you need to have both your Xbox One and Xbox Series X set up on the same Wi-Fi network. We recommend having both systems connected in the same area to make things as easy as possible. Then, you can easily swap HDMI cables to move from one system to another. (Or if you have the room, hook up both systems to a monitor with multiple HDMI ports.)

Start by navigating to the My games & apps option on the main menu of your Xbox One. Then, go all the way down to Manage, and under the Settings header, select Network Transfer. From here, youll be able to check Allow network transfer.Its also recommended to update your Xbox One to the latest firmware so its compatible with the Xbox Series X|S.

Then, once the Allow network transfer is checked, boot up your Xbox Series X|S and navigate back to the My games & apps section menu from the dashboard. Again, head back to Manage > Network transfer, and this time, when you navigate to this menu, youll see the name of your Xbox One console under Local consoles.

Choose the Xbox One and youll be taken to a list of all the Xbox One games available to copy, including their installations and saves.

Select the game(s) youd like to move in this case, Cyberpunk 2077 and then click on Copy selected.

The system will then notify you that you are about to copy X game from [Xbox One name] to Internal. Select Copy once more and itll be copied to your Xbox Series X|S via the internet. Keep in mind, the more you transfer, the longer it will take. Its best to do this with an Ethernet cable to ensure it transfers faster.

The one thing to note is that when you boot up Cyberpunk 2077, you may need to manually load the most recent save instead of using the Continue function.

The easiest and most efficient method of moving your save over from Xbox One to Xbox Series X|S is to use an external USB drive. If youre looking to move your save and/or installations over, simply plug in your USB stick (make sure its 3.0) and head back into the My games & appsmenu once again from your Xbox One.

Then, find Cyberpunk 2077 and click the Menu button on your controller, followed by the Manage game and add-ons option. After that, select the save data and press Move or copy to move it to the USB stick. Keep in mind, youll need to format the USB drive to work with the Xbox systems. This prompt will appear once you plug in the drive to your Xbox for the first time. Once its formatted, you wont be able to use the drive with other non-Xbox devices.

After youve moved your Cyberpunk 2077 data over to the drive, you can plug it into your Xbox Series X|S. Then, head into Settings from the dashboard and navigate down to System, followed by Storage. Here, youll see your internal memory, as well as the external device. Select the external device (which is found below the internal one), and select Move or copy.

Pick Cyberpunk 2077, and it will copy all the data, including the entire installation file from the external drive to the internal drive. Youll notice it will copy much faster using this method than if you attempted to do it over the internet even if youre plugged in via an Ethernet cable.

After its finished copying, boot up Cyberpunk 2077 and again, manually load the save file you want to use since the game might not prompt you to continue.

How to hack in Cyberpunk 2077 – Digital Trends

The way you build your character inCyberpunk 2077determines a lot about how you interact with the world. You can choose to focus on being a run-and-gun style killer who bursts into a room full of enemies guns blazing, or go the sneaky route and complete your missions without taking a single life. Hacking is a skill you will want to learn early on no matter how you want to play. It opens up a ton of options, as well as being one of the most lucrative and quick ways to earn some Eurodollars in Night City. Dont worry if youre not a computer wizard in real life. Hacking inCyberpunk 2077isnt as complex as that, but it does still have some intricacies youd do well to learn before loading up your first Breach Protocol. Heres our full diagnostic on how to hack inCyberpunk 2077.

Hacking inCyberpunk 2077can be broken down into two categories: Quickhacking and Breach Protocols. These each function differently, but do share a few similarities. First is that scanning is your best friend. Anything in the world that you can hack will show up with a quick scan of the environment. Youll see doors, cameras, access points, and even people that you can hack for different effects that will make your life easier. Similar to the detective vision in other games, this is a tool youll want to be using at all times to get the best view of the situation.

Quickhacking can be done after scanning a hackable object or enemy and is limited by your characters RAM. You can, and should, upgrade this at Ripperdocs so you can give yourself the biggest edge in any situation before anything goes sideways.

Breach Protocols are done to hack into access points. These can be things like antennas and laptops and have a mini-game associated with them. This makes them more difficult than a Quickhack, but success will give you much better rewards.

Quickhacking will require you to have a Cyberdeck installed. The better the Cyberdeck, the more RAM you get to perform even more hacks. Quickhacks are primarily good for distraction purposes. After scanning an area youll have the option to take control of the security camera systems, distract guards, and even screw with any Cyberware they have. Some hacks can be lethal, so consider what you want to that unsuspecting guard if youre trying to stay non-lethal.

Your hacking options for whatever youre targeting will be listed on the left side of the screen, as well as the required RAM to perform that hack. Any options highlighted in red cant be done either due to lack of remaining RAM or if that option has already been done. If you dont know what one of the Quickhack options means, you can see a description by tabbing over to the Hacking menu on the right side for a full list. The right side of the screen will also show you relevant data to your hacking target. You can see, for example, what type of character they are, what group theyre affiliated with, a list of abilities, and what they are weak to.

Once you pick your target and hack of choice, just select it and watch the results.

This is the real hacking inCyberpunk 2077. You will need a high enough intelligence level to even attempt this type of hack on certain Access Points, as well as get physically close enough to jack into the device. The upside to this type of hacking is that any hack you do on an Access Point will impact allthe enemies in an area rather than a single target like Quickhacking. You can spot an Access Point when scanning by looking for the little network icon in the area. You can also unlock a Ping Quickhack to find the Access Point if you use it on a person or object connected to the network.

Once you find an Access Point, with a high enough level of intelligence to hack it, you will plug yourself in and start the mini-game. This screen can look quite overwhelming at first, but once you know what youre looking at, becomes a lot more manageable. You have your time limit at the top left, the Code Matrix right below that, a Buffer meter on the upper right, and the different sequences youre trying to match, plus their effects, on the right. You can, and should, fill in multiple sequences at once to trigger multiple rewards.

Now, on to the hacking itself. What youre attempting to do is match the code found on the sequences on the right from left to right. However, you can only choose codes in an alternating order of rows and columns in the Code Matrix. For example, if you pick the top right option in the matrix, in this case, 8D, the next option you can pick can only be in the far right column. In the image above, that would lock me out of the bottom sequence because the only codes available in that right column are 8D and 55 while that sequence would need 1C. That means you need to plan ahead to know which code you should pick to make sure you have the option for the next one in the sequence in the following row or column.

Every code you pick will take up one of the slots in the Buffer section. You will only have that many codes to select before either completing one or more sequences or the hack will fail. This is another upgrade option available from Ripperdocs you should invest in.

One thing that can make Breach Protocols a little easier is to take a second to highlight the sequence youre going for on the right. This will highlight all the codes in the matrix that fit the sequence so you can quickly plot out what order to select the codes in. Also, if things are going poorly, you can always back out of a Breach Protocol and start over from scratch, only with less time on the clock. Just be aware that all Breach Protocols are randomized each time so you cant completely cheese the system this way.

A user namedArtisticTap4 shared a link on his Reddit account. The linktakes the viewers to a Cyberpunk 2077map leak. It shows some new locations such asPacifica, Watson, Westbrook and Santa Domingo. After looking at the comments section of the post, the fans have certainly been loving it. They have also spotted the stadium like figure next to Pacifica. A pace port can also be spotted on the far west side of the Cyberpunk 2077 map.

The map looks a little small but it should not be shocking as CDProjekt Red had already announced that this game is going to be smaller than their popular The Witcher 3. Cyberpunk 2077’s Leaked Map Looks Awfully Similar to The Witcher 3 – Screen Rant

There appears to be an astonishing resemblance between the map of Cyberpunk 2077's Night City and the area surrounding Novigrad in The Witcher 3.

WithCyberpunk 2077'sheavily anticipated release finally approaching, it's about that time where details and information start to trickle out. Now that the game is physically in the wild, it's no surprise that thecontents of the physical copies of the game are making the rounds, including a poster of Cyperpunk 2077's map. The map itself isn't exactly new, as it has been shown off in little pieces throughout CD Projekt Red's marketing campaign for the game, but this is the first look at the game's map in its entirety.

Much likeGrand Theft Auto V, it appearsCyberpunk 2077 will have an open sort of outskirts area on the outside of the city. Night City promises to be an extremely detailed and dense environment, as opposed to the vast open worlds that have taken hold throughout the industry. It's an overwhelming thing to think about that will surely become easier to comprehend once players are able to physically get into the city and start to move around. But the one thing that immediately stands out is that the map of Night City looksstrangely similar the area surrounding Novigrad inThe Witcher 3: Wild Hunt.

The Witcher 3's map is fairly large, but for the purpose of this exercise the focus is on Novigrad and its immediate surroundings. Both citiesfollow a similar pattern alongthe corner of an inlet with the ocean bordering the western side, while the rest of the surrounding area appears to be fairly barren. It legitimately looks like CD Projekt Red just took Night City and dropped it right on top of Novigrad. Now, the mostly likely explanation for the similarities between the two maps is that the people responsible for designing the maps at CD Projekt Red just happened to subconsciously construct the two worlds in a similar fashion, or just flat out decided to reuse similar landscape ideas. It's really not that big of a deal, but it's a humorous detail to take note of given the natural connection between the two games.

Going intoCyberpunk 2077, it's hard not to think there's going to be some sort of aWitcher crossover. InThe Witcher 3, after Geralt finds Ciri, she describes her journey jumping between worlds as she eluded the Wild Hunt. In her stories, Ciri goes on to describe a world where people had metal in their heads, fought from a distance and had flying ships; a world that can be no other than that ofCyberpunk 2077. Ciri managed to hide from the Wild Hunt on that world for half a year, more than enough time for her to mingle with the citizens of Night City.There is no doubt that, at some point inCyberpunk 2077's story, players will be able to find and interact with Ciri in some capacity. It seems like the most obvious crossover in history because it probably is.

Peter Thiel’s dystopian cyberpunk business Palantir bombed its Initial Public Offering – Boing Boing

When you search for "Palantir" on Google, the search engine prompts with a few people related search options. The Top 2 being: "What does Palantir do?" and "Why is Palantir evil?" And I think that pretty much sums up Palantir.

The Peter Thiel-backed Uber-for-Defense-Contractors company launched its Initial Public Offering on the stock market last week. Two years ago, in October 2018, the company expected an IPO valuation of $41 billion dollars. Here's what happened when the stocks finally went live on September 30, 2020, according to Bloomberg:

Palantir started trading Wednesday, choosing to run a seldom-tested direct listing process instead of a traditional initial public offering. The stock closed Friday at $9.20, below the $10 per share it opened at on the New York Stock Exchange, giving the company a market valuation of $15.2 billion.

On a fully diluted basis, including all classes of shares and employee stock options, Palantir is valued at $20.2 billion. Just days into the secretive big data firm's journey as a public company, some shareholders have privately expressed frustration about the process, with accusations of technical glitches, misplaced records and disorganization that left some investors with an inability to sell shares.

CNBC reported that this disappointing stock performance may have actually been the result of a software glitch:

Several former workers, who asked not to be named because they weren't authorized to speak to the public, told CNBC that they and some current employees couldn't get into Morgan Stanley's Shareworks system.

The stock traded as high as $11.42 before closing at $9.50. Current and former employees were texting with each other about the problem and complaining of their inability to sell. One former employee followed up with CNBC to say the system finally started working late in the morning, Pacific Time.

On the same day, project management software startup Asan also went live on the stock market, opening at $27, up from a reference price of $21.

Palantir COO Shyam Sankar allegedly acknowledged, "How much of a luxury it really was [being private], of not looking at the stock price on a daily basis," according to Protocol, and insisted that he would remain "maniacally and monastically [focused] on creating long-term value."

Despite its overvaluation and disappointing IPO performance, Palantir isn't necessarily hurting. As CNN reports:

Revenue from government contracts made up $345.5 million, or 53%, of its overall revenue in 2019. In the filing, Palantir said the US government agencies using its software include the Department of Health and Human Services, Department of Homeland Security, the Securities and Exchange Commission, the Food and Drug Administration, the National Institutes of Health, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Department of Veterans Affairs, Army, Navy and Air Force.

Peter Cohan at Forbes still advises that investors avoid the company at all costs, saying that "It burns through piles of cash" and "Its governance structure is investor unfriendly."

Cyberpunk 2077 fans can win a real-life version of the Quadra Type-66 – Stanford Arts Review

Driving cars in video games is a ton of fun. Driving at high speed with no regard for traffic laws or peoples life. Well, that isnt possible in real life. What is possible though is getting a car just like a game. Thanks to Cyberpunk, you can now get a car which is the same as the one in the game.

In Cyberpunk 2077, players can drive a car known as Quadra Type-66. This cars style looks quite similar to the muscle cars of the 1960s and 70s.

To make this car in real life, Rockstar Performance Garage acquired a 1970 Ford Mustang Fastback. The car had travelled just 37,000 miles. The team added a more futuristic grille that covered the headlights and also added a bunch of wild vinyl graphics.

The car is powered by its original 289-cubic-inch V8, but several modifications have been done to improve the performance. Such as new fuel injection, a Magnaflow exhaust system, a full coil-over suspension, and disc brakes. For tires, there is a set of Rotiform wheels wrapped in Mickey Thompson tires.

You can get this vehicle for free by entering and winning the contest from Cyberpunk 2077.

Cyberpunk 2077 is an action RPG game developed and published by CD Projekt. Players will be playing in a first-person perspective in a dystopian city. Cyberpunk 2077 is scheduled to release in November 2020.

How The Witcher 3 Could Have Hurt Cyberpunk 2077s Development – GameRant

The Witcher 3 may be CD Projekt Red's most successful game, but it could be detrimental to the development of Cyberpunk 2077 in some key ways.

Cyberpunk 2077 was announced by CD Projekt Red with the release of a reveal trailer all the way back in 2013. The company would go on to receive critical acclaim for The Witcher 3 in 2015, but the release of the final game in the Witcher trilogy was not exclusively affirmative for the studio.

CD Projekt Red has looked closely at The Witcher 3s reception, and the way fans reacted to different features has had a big influence on Cyberpunk 2077. The developer has already confirmed some changes which were made in Cyberpunk over the course of its long development as a direct response to feedback and analysis of how fans played The Witcher. However, not all of these changes will be ones many RPG fans will be happy with.

CD Projekt Red has already announced that the main quest for Cyberpunk 2077 will be shorter than the main quest in The Witcher 3. Patrick Mills, a senior quest designer with the studio, explained that the main story run inCyberpunk 2077is slightly short thanThe Witcher 3. He went on to We got a lot of complaints aboutTheWitcher 3s storyjust being too long," adding that looking at the metrics, you see tremendous numbers of people played through that game really far but never made it to the end.

This might come as a concern to some RPG fans. The Witchers main story could be completed in roughly 50 hours, which could mean that Cyberpunk 2077s main story length is more similar to another first-person RPG like Skyrim.Skyrims main quest came in at about 15 to 30 hours.

The reason this might come as a concern to some fans is that while The Witcher 3s main quest was long and not completed by many players, that statistic doesnt necessarily speak to many player's experiences of playing the game, even those who did not complete the main story. Part of what made The Witcher 3 feel like an epic conclusion to the trilogy was that its sprawling plot took the player all over the world of The Witcher. The search for Ciri always felt like Geralts main motivation, but the fact that the main quest couldnt be quickly or easily completed was part of what made the other missions make sense.

Some will enjoy it being shorter, so this is more of a middling change to the overall game. But with this in mind, it's worth looking at why The Witcher works and how some changes could hurt Cyberpunk in the long run.

By having such a huge main quest, the game actually made completing side missions and Witcher contracts feel far more immersive. For example, near the start of The Witcher 3, Geralt has to help the Bloody Baron in order to learn more information about where Ciri might have gone. In a game like Skyrim, it can feel immersion breaking for some players to take on side quests once the player has already found out they are the Dragonborn and has been given a very clear goal they need to achieve stopping Alduin which makes getting involved in many of the side quests feel unjustifiable in a roleplay sense.

In The Witcher 3, the sense of scale in the main quest makes the game more immersive by allowing the player to complete side missions and Witcher contracts to survive without it feeling like a diversion, but instead a necessary part of Geralts long journey to save Ciri from the Wild Hunt. Indeed, one of the likely reasons many players never actually reached the end of the main quest is because this set up made completing the side quests in The Witcher 3 a uniquely immersive and enjoyable experience compared to many other RPGs.

CD Projekt Red has claimed thatevery side mission inCyberpunkshould feel like a full story, but it remains unclear exactly how this would be manifested in-game. Many Witcher contracts were short but compelling and enjoyable, and there is a risk that Cyberpunks narrative will feel spread thin over too many short stories without one big epic main story to tie it all together and focus the player character's motivation.

While many players did not finish the main quest of The Witcher 3, it seems unlikely that many RPG fans would complain about getting more value for their money with such a huge amount of content to enjoy that theypractically couldnt finish all of it. Not only that, but if Cyberpunk 2077 has been heavily influenced by perceived problems with The Witcher 3, there are other changes which could have been made which could also be worrying to some RPG fans.

The comments made by CD Projekt Red regardingthe length of Cyberpunk 2077's main quest could imply that the game will have more stories, but will feel less like a single consistent narrative than The Witcher 3. The trouble is that one of the most successful aspects of The Witcher 3 was its ability to make its narrative feel like one single unfolding story. When Geralt travels to Skellige, for example, he does so because of the overarching narrative of the main quest, which makes the Witcher's side quests he completes there still feel like a part of the main story as a necessary means to his final goal.

With Cyberpunk potentially focusing more on making side missions feel like full stories, and with all of the game taking place in Night City instead of spread across the world in the same way as The Witcher, this could cause Cyberpunks open-world design and its blank-slate protagonist V to clash with CD Projekt Redsdesire to give its game a strong main story.

Cyberpunk 2077 is without a doubt an extremely ambitious game, however, and it is a good thing that CD Projekt Red is willing to risk experimenting and making changes from The Witcher despite that games huge success. Whether or not the studio is able to make Cyberpunk 2077 a next-generational RPG experience which fuses open-world freedom with strong storytelling remains to be seen, and fans will be keenly awaiting the games release in November to see just what the world ofCyberpunkhas in store.

Cyberpunk 2077will be available November 19th on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One, with PS5, Stadia and Xbox Series X versions in development.

Cyberpunk 2077 Will Definitely Play On Your PS5 And Xbox Series X – Press Start Australia

Ive seen a lot of people confused on social media about whether Cyberpunk 2077 will be available on PS5 and Xbox Series X. Its definitely a valid thing to be confused about, as its arguably the largest game of the year and is launching a week after both new consoles.

The short version is, you can buy Cyberpunk 2077 on either PS4 or Xbox One and it will work on your PS5 or Xbox Series X/S. Id even go as far as saying that I think youll be able to buy Cyberpunk 2077 digitally on your PS5/Xbox Series X.

The long (and slightly more confusing) version is that the PS5/Xbox Series X versions arent actually releasing until 2021. It will come as a free update for PS4/Xbox One owners and bring next-gen updates such as better assets, and ray-tracing. Its worth noting that the PS4/Xbox One version should run better on next-gen consoles by default and should load better thanks to the SSD in the next-gen consoles.

CD Projekt Red has confirmed time and time again that the game will work on next-gen consoles, so theres really no need to worry.

Let’s take a closer look at the latest Cyberpunk 2077 trailers – PC Gamer

During the last Night City Wire we saw two new trailers for Cyberpunk 2077, one highlighting the city itself and the other detailing its main gangs. Both trailers are hefty downloads of information, some of it already mentioned in sources like the recent World of Cyberpunk 2077 book published by Dark Horse, some of it elaborating on things we've already seen.

About 30 seconds into Postcards from Night City we get a glimpse of Johnny Silverhand at a food stand. He 's probably not really there, of course, since he's just a manifestation of the digital Johnny inside the protagonist's head. Shame he can't enjoy the meat skewers.

An overview of the Night City media includes a montage of local TV programs and celebrities, like Ziggy Q, the guy in the gold jacket who is apparently the host of a variety show called 'Night After Night with Ziggy Q'. One of his guests looks like she might be Lizzy Wizzy, the pop star voiced by real-world singer Grimes. Ziggy Q may not be as big a name as he seems, though. Take a closer look at the moment where he struts past his screaming fans, and you'll see those fans are all mannequins.

After that come the pop stars with cybernetic eyes. The spider look is particularly freaky. According to the World of Cyberpunk 2077 book these are members of Us Cracks, a manufactured pop group sponsored by Kiroshi Opticals who all sport Kiroshi-brand eyes.

Following some nightclub scenes, we see the protagonist's POV as they take 20 milligrams of something or other. Pay attention to the hands in the scene immediately following and you'll see they're different. The ring and tattoo are the same as Johnny Silverhand's, and the next scenewhere he's taking a swig from a bottle while a lady, er, does something below the view of the camerais probably one of his memories we'll see in flashback.

The illustrations of homelessness, crime, and the police response that follow include a view of a MAX-TAC officer from one of the 'psycho squads' who deal with sufferers of cyberpsychosis. His gear looks almost exactly the same as the gear worn in the very first Cyberpunk 2077 teaser trailer all the way back in 2013.

After one more look at digital Keanu Reeves, this trailer ends with a promo for the Night City tourism website, which is real and full of pop-up versions of the billboard advertisements that populate all these moody shots of the cityscape. One of them is for a car called the Aerondight, a name it shares with one of the best swords Geralt can find in The Witcher 3.

The second trailer, Gangs of Night City, opens on Takemura, an NPC we don't know very much about except that he must be important since he already has an action figure and a Funko Pop (yes, really). There's also a quick namedrop of the Scavs. From what other sources have said, they're the gang who deal in aftermarket cybernetics, which is a polite way of saying they kill people and harvest their augmentations. And their organs, and anything else of value.

The first gang properly featured are the Maelstrom, who are into illegal body modification and rock a lot of subdermal plating. Their headquarters is the Totentanz Club, which players of the Cyberpunk 2020 tabletop RPG will remember, along with the Maelstrom themselves. This is what they looked like back then.

Sidekick NPC Jackie introduces the Valentinos, who seem to have evolved from the posergang of Cyberpunk 2020 to become a primarily Hispanic gang with a thing for Santa Muerte iconography. Their rivals are 6th Street, proud American suburbanites who Johnny Silverhand is apparently not a fan of. That's Keanu complaining they "vomit lofty patriotic bullshit all day".

Next up are the Voodoo Boys, who are hackers, or netrunners in the slang of Cyberpunk. The cybercop talking about the "blackwall" is a member of NetWatch, the computer police who prevent rogue AIs from the Old Net from breaking through the blackwall into the safe and regulated cyberspace of 2077. The Voodoo Boys want to tear down that wall for reasons of their own. Though we see one of them presumably about to cut off a chicken's head, whether they do much with the voodoo theme remains to be seen. Maybe he's just about to get a stew going.

Here's Mike Pondsmith discussing the Voodoo Boys and the Animals, a boostergang who bulk up with vat-grown implanted muscles, ultratestosterone, and equine growth hormone. And yet in the trailer they howl like wolves instead of neighing like horses. Missed opportunity if you ask me.

According to the World of Cyberpunk book the Tyger Claws are based out of Japantown, but contain members whose heritage comes from other parts of Asia as well. They've got close ties to the Arasaka corporation, who provide them with gear. The guy with the glowing red mantis blades on his arms is rocking a Tyger Claw mask with an Arasaka logo on it, and his shoulderpad is Arasaka-branded as well. I don't know about you, but I will probably spend a lot of time killing them and taking their stuff. Yes, I want a katana.

The Mox protect Night City's sex workers, and are based out of Lizzie's Bar. It's a braindance club where patrons can plug themselves into VR recordings. Braindances, including illicit ones that are potentially harmful to those who experience them, will apparently be a central part of Cyberpunk 2077's plot.

Finally, the trailer covers two groups of nomads who live in the wasteland between cities. Both are from the Cyberpunk 2020 RPG, where the Wraiths were one of the "Raffen Shiv", groups who were outcast even among the nomads due to their banditry. Meanwhile, the more respectable Aldecaldos were the original nomads, the first family to leave the deteriorating cities and make a new life on the road. For a couple of years Johnny Silverhand hid out with them while he was on the run, so they'll probably play a part in his storyline.

The trailer ends with an aerial map of Night City, though there's one thing missing from itthe Orbital Air Space Center that ferries passengers into Earth orbit. Whether that's just an omission or something to be explained in the next round of trailers, or in the game itself, is something we'll have to wait and see.

Cyberpunk 2077 will be ‘slightly shorter’ than The Witcher 3 – PC Gamer

RPGs can be quite long, and just thinking about starting a new one ages me. That's another grey hair just appeared. Especially these days, where game length is wielded like a weapon by marketing teams, so many games seem to want us to spend 100 hours on them. Cyberpunk 2077, however, is not among them.

Chatting with streamers Alanah Pearce, Deejay Knight and Cohh Carnage after the last Night City Wire, senior quest designer Patrick K. Mills didn't offer a number, but he did say Cyberpunk 2077 would be shorter than The Witcher 3's main story. You can watch the clip below (cheers, Datsaucy).

"We do know the main story run in Cyberpunk 2077 is slightly shorter than The Witcher 3 because we got a lot of complaints about Witcher 3's main story just being too long," Mills said. "Looking at the metrics, you see tremendous numbers of people played through that game really far but never made it to the end. We want you to see the full story, so we did shorten the main story, but we have lots to do."

I put around 120 hours into The Witcher 3, which took me through the main story, DLC quests and expansions, though it wasn't quite a completionist runI did leave a few question marks on the map. According to How Long to Beat, just the main story takes players an average of 51.5 hours, which is considerably shorter but still a big chunk of time.

Only a quarter of players actually stick around until the credits, at least on Steam, so most people don't get the complete story. That's actually a pretty respectable number, even for a much shorter game, but if I spent the better part of a decade working on an epic RPG like Cyberpunk or The Witcher, I'd probably like a few more people to actually experience it in its entirety too.

Game length is a poor way to measure a game's quality, but if you are looking for something to gobble up all of your hours, Cyberpunk 2077 might still have you sorted. With side quests and exploration, it could be as long or even longer than Geralt's adventurewithout more details on a completionist run we just don't know.

When I finally finished The Witcher 3, I just wanted more of it, but I've started to favour shorter games more and more in the five years since then, simply because they're easier to fit into my life. Even if I end up devouring every morsel and spending an unhealthy amount of time in Night City, it's nice to know I can wrap it up in less than 50 hours if I want. I won't, but I like having the option.
