The Technicals For CF Industries Holdings, Inc. (CF), An Important Analysis – NY Stock News

Posted: at 8:12 pm

The technicals for CF Industries Holdings, Inc. (CF) have taken shape, and with them a comprehensive picture has emerged. This is the current state of play as presented by the current technical setup.

Hundreds, perhaps thousands of books have been written on trading, strategies, tactics and everything in between. The result has been the mass-proliferation of confusion and less and less attention to the fundamentals of trading success. The fact remains that sound analysis of technical and chart data is still the biggest reason failing traders are transformed into winning traders.

(CF) has shown a marked change in trend levels over the course of recent market activity. Based on recent activity surrounding both the 50 and 200 SMAs, theres been a marked trend created which can be described as bullish.

The composite picture painted by the trends built around both SMAs has also created a measured analysis of current investor sentiment as the stock navigates upside and downside risk. The established market sentiment toward the stock has created a trading environment which can suitably be described as positive.

There has also been a knock-on effect as it relates to trading volume now reflected in weak real-time sentiment on the buying and selling curve; this has created in turn, indifference toward the stock as measured across a broad statistical mix of the general trading community.

As a composite and comprehensive tableau, the stocks position in the minds of the trading market reflects a broad analysis of technicals and inherent trends which underpin overall market-trading viability.

Relative strength indicator (RSI) and Stochastic measures are two very important leading indicators that help traders gauge overall movement of a particular stock; they act as boosters to technical analysis. Together they show in a measured way, whether or not a stock currently overbought or oversold. This indicator is crucial in determining whether traders are tipped toward the side of buying more of the stock, or doing the opposite and selling more of the stock. This is very important directional information necessary for making trading decisions. (CF)s current measure for its 14-day RSI is 37.63%; this is suggestive that on balance of the indicator, the stock is neutral neither overbought nor oversold and therefore not susceptible to any undue price movements in either direction. The stochastic picture presents a complimentary view of overall sentiment in the present state for (CF). Stochastic data gathered over the last 30 days has created a score of 11.66%. This indicates that the stock is oversold at current levels.

The successful trader has within her or her arsenal a wide range of tools. The leading indicators mentioned above help make up that arsenal but they are by no means the only ones needed for trading success. Short term indicators, as well as performance indicators, can mean all the difference in executing successful trades. The omens depict a telling picture in terms of the near-term trading setup for (CF); this makes things very interesting to the curious and interested eye. The -5.02 has created a negative in the trailing 30 days since initiating movement. Over the extended term, the stock has underperform the S&P 500 by -25.55%. This consistent movement and its attendant overall performance have produced higher daily volatility when compared with other stocks ranking in the same peer group and on the same exchange. The picture looks the same when the stock is assessed against volatility levels measured historically. This historical volatility gives a current reading of 37.68%. These measures of historic volatility are very handy in judging the underlying price momentum and the rate of change in the price of (CF). Bound up this picture of volatility, is another measure that gives the underlying thesis for (CF). This can best be seen by analyzing the readings for the stocks average true range, currently 3.53. ATR is a fine augment to the other indicators outlined above and should be used in conjunction and not as a standalone.

Get rough with Panasonic’s new hybrid Toughbook – CNET

Posted: at 6:24 am

Panasonic

We put our devices, especially laptops, through a lot, asking them to survive spills, bumps, knocks, dust and even falls. Your standard clamshell or hybrid can survive some minor brushes with death, if you're lucky, but for more extreme situations there's a specialized category of PCs we call "rugged." The long-time leader in this space is Panasonic, and the company has sold its rugged Toughbook laptops since 1996.

The latest Toughbook, introduced at the MWC 2017 show, is the Toughbook CF-33, which is a detachable hybrid that boasts a number of firsts. Panasonic says it's the world's first rugged hybrid laptop with a 3:2 aspect ratio display. Most laptops have 16:9 displays, the same as an HDTV, but a few, including Microsoft's Surface line, have 3:2 displays.

The 6.1-pound (2.77 kg) CF-33 is available as a tablet-plus-keyboard combo, or just as a standalone tablet. Its 12-inch, 2,160x1,440-pixel touchscreen works with gloves on or even in the rain. A pair of hot-swappable batteries means you can keep it running, as long as you have extra batteries and a charging dock.

Windows 10 Pro is the default OS, but like many professional laptops, a Windows 7 downgrade option is also available. While ports are quickly vanishing from consumer laptops and hybrids, the CF-33 has USB 3.0, HDMI, Ethernet, microSD-XC and audio ports on its tablet half. The keyboard dock adds two more USB 3.0 ports, a USB 2.0 port, and even serial and VGA ports. In true Toughbook style, the ports are all covered by waterproof doors.

A rugged laptop like the Toughbook CF-33 probably isn't for you -- Panasonic says it's targeted at "police, emergency services, government agencies, defense, field service workers, maintenance and service technicians," so it's overkill if you're just worried about coffee spills.

But if you're looking for an extreme hybrid for your extreme lifestyle, the Toughbook CF-33 will be available in the UK in the second quarter of 2017, starting at 2,630 for the full hybrid, or 2,210 for the standalone tablet. Prices and availability in other regions wasn't available yet, but that works out to $3,300/$2,775 or AU$4,270/AU$3,200.

CF-18 pilot killed at Cold Lake did not eject or make mayday call – CBC.ca

A Canadian Forces pilot killed when his fighter jet crashed near Cold Lake, Alta., did not eject or call for help before his CF-18 went down, according to an interim report released Monday.

Though aparachute wasdiscovered at the crash site, Capt. ThomasMcQueen, 29, was killed when the jetstruck the ground in a descending left turn.

The details arecontained in an interim reportof the November crash released Monday by Department of National Defence.

A parachute was discovered at the crash site but the pilot did not eject (Department of National Defence)

The report does not explain what caused the crash, which remains under investigation, but does reveal new informationabout McQueen's last moments.

McQueen, a 10-year Royal Canadian Air Force veteran, was the flyingbehind the lead CF-18ina two-aircraft training mission.

Theobjective of the mission was to deliver two inert bombs followed by two laser-guided training rounds simulatinglaser-guided bombs atthe Cold Lake Air Weapons Range.

Capt. Thomas McQueen of 4 Wing Cold Lake was killed November during an training exercise while flying his CF-18 Hornet. (Royal Canadian Air Force)

Each pilot was to performa "safe escape manoeuvre" after dropping the bombs to avoid simulated bomb fragmentation.

McQueenwas flying at low altitude, about 450 feetabove the ground, when he attempted the manoeuvre.

His jet climbed 50 feet, whenthe nose of the aircraft began to drop below the horizon. He was killedwhen his aircraft struck the ground while makinga left turn.

The lead pilot saw the explosion and transmitted a mayday call. He noted a parachute at the side of the ground scar.

McQueenmadeno radio transmission himself, nor did heeject, the report said.

Former Edmonton MP Laurie Hawn, who spent 30 years in the air force and flew CF-18's for about 12 years, said it'sno surprise the pilot did not make a distress call.

"You don't have a second. I mean from the time he realized it to the time he died waswho knows a second or two, there's no time to do anything," Hawn said.

"I'd be willing to bet he looked up and I don't know how much of an expletive he would get out but I'm pretty sure he would have seen this coming in the last second."

The investigation is continuing to examine all operational and technical factors that mighthave played a role in the accident.

Col. Paul Doyle, commander of 4 Wing Cold Lake described McQueen, originally from Hamilton, Ont., as a dedicated pilot at a news conference last December.

There's no time frame for when the full report into the crash will be released.

Real Madrid C.F., after their loss to Valencia C.F., are just a single point clear of Barcelona and three points ahead of Sevilla and now enjoy just one game in hand over their title rivals

Two goals in the opening eight minutes from Simone Zaza and Fabian Orellana blew the La Liga title race wide open as Valencia beat leaders Real Madrid 2-1 on Wednesday.

The defeat leaves Madrid just a single point clear of Barcelona and three points ahead of Sevilla and now enjoy just one game in hand over their title rivals.

We lost this match in the opening ten minutes, ten bad minutes where we let two goals in, Eeal coach Zinedine zidane told Spanish TV.

Im not worried, Im angry more than anything, because we only have ourselves to blame.

Italian striker Zaza had broken down in tears after scoring his first goal since May at the weekend, but showed his confidence is suddenly sky high with a brilliant volleyed finish to open the scoring on five minutes.

Orellana then finished off a flowing counter-attack on nine, but Cristiano Ronaldo halved Madrids arrears with a towering header from Marcelos cross a minute before half-time.

Madrid boss Zidane introduced Gareth Bale off the bench on just his second appearance after a three-month injury layoff for the final half hour.

And the Welshman nearly rescued a point when his header from point-blank range was blocked by Enzo Perez a minute from time.

Madrids Brazilian wing-back Marcelo agreed with his coach that they had thrown the game away early.

Were still top but we really have to do something to change things, learn from our mistakes, he said.

We got off poorly and its our own fault, he said.

Madrid will take on Villarreal away on Sunday in their next La Liga game.

Limerick CF parents: ‘Our kid’s lives are priceless’ – Limerick Leader

Posted: February 25, 2017 at 3:26 pm

STOP putting prices on our childrens lives, because to us they are priceless.

Thats the message from Katie Sheahan, whose youngest son Michael, aged three, suffers from cystic fibrosis (CF).

Parents of children who have the genetic condition, which mainly affects the lungs, are calling on Health Minister Simon Harris to make the potentially life-saving drugs Orkambi and Kaleydeco openly available.

They argue it will give their young ones a real childhood and better long-term prospects.

On Friday night last, around 90 parents whose children suffer from the condition gathered at Limerick City Hall for a vigil in memory of those who have died from the condition. But the underlying message is: they want action from the government.

Around 560,000 kids in Ireland could benefit from Orkambi or Kaleydeco, and Kate said: It will stop kids getting six weeks sickness from school, plus viruses and everyday bugs. Its a really important drug. We know its not a cure: but it gives hope to the CF community because at the moment, were living in fear of what the future holds for our children.

Orkambi is estimated to cost around 159,000 per patient per year, with pressure mounting on Mr Harristo get the drug approved for patients.

Limerick TD Willie ODea, who attended the protest, raised the matter in Dail Eireann this week.

He said: I think we all owe it to fight for these people who are literally fighting for their lives. You cannot really imagine what people who suffer from CF are going through. They struggle to breathe. Its too hard to even contemplate.

Kate, who co-organised the vigil, which was held with the support of the charity Tipperary Limerick and Clare for Cystic Fibrosis (TLC4CF), added: Stop making us wait. The CF community are living in fear. No parent should have to live like this. We are standing here tonight for all the CF mothers and fathers who cannot be here because they are caring for their loved ones in hospitals.

Joy ODonoghue, whose eight-year-old son Jason has CF, added: I dont want to have to bury my child. I dont want to have to see other people burying their children. Its not fair, its not right. Our kids lives are priceless.

At the vigil, a minutes silence was observedfor children who have lost their lives to CF.

A number of other local politicians joined Mr ODea at the vigil: former Education Minister Jan OSullivan, plus Sinn Fein councillors John Costelloe and Malachy McCreesh.

Pawtucket man arrested for narcotics in CF – WPRI 12 Eyewitness News

Posted: February 24, 2017 at 6:32 pm

CENTRAL FALLS, R.I. (WPRI) The odor of freshly burnt marijuana was strong Thursday, when members of the Central Falls Police Department ended up arresting a driver for narcotics on Cross Street.

Officers pulled over Daniel Gilbert, 23, of Pawtucket for alleged traffic violations. Gilbert advised officers he had recently been smoking marijuana and had some left in his vehicle, according to Lt. Christopher Reed. Due to the odor, officers requested a drug-sniffing K-9 officer to search the vehicle.

The dog ended up finding a green leafy substance in individually wrapped small plastic bags on the center console. Furthermore, in the consoles ashtray, the dog led officers to a sizeable amount of white powder determined to be cocaine.

Gilbert was charged with felony drug possession, held overnight at Central Falls Police headquarters, and faced a judge Friday morning at 6th District Court in Providence. He was granted $5,000 bail with surety on Thursdays charge, but ended up being held without bail for violating probation.

According to the Rhode Island Judiciarys website, he will be due back in court May 19.

Nivalis Therapeutics (NVLS) Says Cavosonstat Phase 2 Clinical … – StreetInsider.com

Nivalis Therapeutics, Inc. (NASDAQ: NVLS), a pharmaceutical company historically focused on developing innovative solutions for people with cystic fibrosis (CF), today announced topline results from the Company's Phase 2 trial evaluating the efficacy and safety of cavosonstat at a dose of 400 mg in adult patients with CF who had one copy of the F508del-CFTR mutation and a second gating mutation, and were being treated with Kalydeco (ivacaftor). There were no dose limiting toxicities and cavosonstat was well tolerated in the trial. Cavosonstat, when added to Kalydeco therapy, did not demonstrate benefit in absolute change in percent predicted FEV1, the trials primary endpoint, or in sweat chloride reduction at 8 weeks.

Summary of Key DataThe data announced today are from a Phase 2, double-blind, randomized, placebo controlled, trial that evaluated the efficacy and safety of one dose of cavosonstat administered twice daily (BID) in adult patients with CF who were heterozygous for the F508del-CFTR mutation and a gating mutation, being treated with Kalydeco. The 12-week trial included a total of 19 adults who received treatment with cavosonstat (400 mg) added to Kalydeco (n=15) or with placebo added to Kalydeco (n=4). The trial included a 4-week withdrawal and follow-up period once patients had completed 8 weeks of dosing.

The primary endpoint of the trial was change in absolute percent predicted FEV1 from baseline to week 8. These primary and key secondary endpoints are shown in the table below.

Primary and Key Secondary Endpoint at Week 8

The increase in body mass index (BMI) reflecting a gain in weight in this study was similar to increases in BMI observed in two prior studies of cavosonstat in CF patients homozygous for F508del-CFTR. In one study, cavosonstat was administered over 4 weeks to CF patients who were not being treated with OrkambiTM and in the other study cavosonstat was administered over 12 weeks to patients who were being treated with Orkambi. End of treatment BMI data from these studies are summarized in the table below. These data suggest that GSNOR inhibition may have improved the nutritional status of patients with CF in these studies.

We are sincerely grateful to those who participated in this trial, including the patients, their families, the trial investigators and our employees, said Steven Shoemaker, M.D., Medical Director at Nivalis. We hope that the data from this trial will help inform the overall body of CF research, and help others in the design of future CF trials.
