New CF parks director eager to move to Midwest, begin his duties with the city – Leader-Telegram
Posted: March 16, 2021 at 3:00 am
CHIPPEWA FALLS John Jimenez was impressed with the variety of parks and all the recreational opportunities as he toured Chippewa Falls.
I really like the community support, and how the community is so integral in the success of the department, he said.
Jimenez, 39, of Downing, Calif., has been hired to become the new director of parks, recreation and foresty. He will begin his new duties March 22. Jimenez will replace Dick Hebert, 61, who announced in December he will retire at the end of March.
Jimenez grew up in California, with short stays in Costa Rica and Chicago. He said he has been looking for jobs in the Midwest; his wife, Kelsey is from rural Duluth, and Kelseys sister lives in Eau Claire, and they wanted to be closer to her family. He was intrigued when he saw the job open up in Chippewa Falls.
I love the idea of a small community, where everyone knows your name, he said. Being in Chippewa Falls just a couple of days, Ive gotten a glimpse of that.
Jimenez said he feels like he grew up playing in the parks in Southern California.
Thats where my parks and recreation (goals) started, he said. I was a coordinator for the city of Downing and in Pico Rivera. I got a window into what parks and recreation can do for a community.
Beth Arneberg, chairwoman of the Chippewa Falls Parks Board, said Jimenez stood out among the candidates.
I liked that he was a great communicator, Arneberg said. He is willing to learn, and isnt afraid of a challenge.
Jimenez did his first interview via Zoom, but he flew to the city for the second interview. He was impressed with the new Chippewa Riverfront park, saying he loves the arts and sees a number of possibilities for new events there. He also wasnt expecting all the amenities in Irvine Park.
I love the idea of having a zoo, he said. None of the parks in California have one.
Jimenez said he is glad he will have a week to work alongside Hebert and catch up on some of the goals, but also the challenges facing the parks system. Jimenez said some of the smaller, community parks need some additional care, and he is aware of the goal of upgrading the skate park at Marshall Park.
Im excited to be able to step in, Jimenez said. I know I have big shoes to fill. I just want the transition to be as seamless as possible.
Hebert joined the parks department in spring 1984. So, when he retires at the end of the month, he will have completed a full 37 years in the department. When parks director Bill Faherty retired in 2011, Hebert was promoted to take his place.

In the main event of Brave CF 48, promotional newcomer Ylies Djiroun takes on Abdul Makhazhiev in a lightweight encounter.
Djiroun competed in the 2019 season of the PFL, losing both of his regular-season matchups toIslam Mamedov andLoik Radzhabov by split decision. Djiroun rebounded with a unanimous decision win overMaxim Pugachev at a Double Red XFN event in December 2019.
Djiroun did not compete in 2020. He was originally booked to face UFC veteran Artem Lobov in December 2020 at the ARENA FIGHT 2 in France, but the event was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Makhazhiev had an approximately four-year run in ACA (formerly ACB) between 2015 and 2019, going 5-3, before making his Brave CF debut in December 2019, scoring a first-round submission ofSanzhar Azhibaev. He was booked to make his second Brave CF appearance twice in 2020, but both times the pandemic forced card cancelations.
The co-main event will see a super lightweight bout between Ahmed Labban and Nemanja Kovac. Both men will be making their Brave CF debuts.
Labban is a veteran of UAE Warriors, Desert Force and Phoenix FC. The former UAE Warriors welterweight title challenger was most recently in action in January 2020, losing toJuho Valamaa by decision.

Taveras heating up, aims to secure job in CF – MLB.com
Posted: at 3:00 am
SURPRISE, Ariz. -- When asked if he felt a large amount of pressure on himself coming into spring, Leody Taveras didnt need an interpreter to share his answer.
No, Taveras said. I dont focus on that kind of stuff. I just focus on my job and the things I need to work on.
Taveras knows its go time, according to manager Chris Woodward. The Rangers' No. 4 prospect per MLB Pipeline, Taveras entered Spring Training as the presumed starter in center field. But with Woodwards culture of competition taking hold, Taveras is now fighting to keep the job over Eli White.
Taveras made another push in Sundays 3-1 win over the Rockies, going 1-for-3. The 22-year-old made his Major League debut on July 24, 2020, then hit .227 in 33 games during the shortened season while also spending some time at the alternate training site.
Early in Spring Training, Taveras struggled at the plate, going 1-for-13 through his first six Cactus League games. Hes picked it up of late, going 3-for-7 in his past two games to raise his batting average to .200. Taveras said it took him a few games to get comfortable at the dish.
Those adjustments are coming slowly but surely, and Taveras' at-bats are getting better as he plays in more games, including some on back fields. Hes starting to concentrate more because he knows the Rangers need him on base, whether thats as the leadoff hitter or out of the No. 9 hole.
Its fine, just sometimes you're off, Taveras said. The timing's off a little bit, so you try to change up a little thing to be more aggressive so that you can make better contact and be more aggressive instead of being more patient, but that's just the gist of it.
Woodward told Taveras that spring is different coming into your first Major League camp, especially after getting a taste of the big leagues in 2020. The Rangers' manager has been happy with Taveras' at-bat quality in recent games.
My thing to him was just, 'Be you, the one thing is keep trusting what you're doing,' Woodward said. 'What you're working on is going to show up in the games. When you get in the game, compete. It means just making sure you're competing like that's your focus, and everything should take care of itself.'
Woodward emphasized that he likes the push from both Taveras and White in the competition to start in center field. Both outfielders have shown the pillars of the culture that Woodward has wanted to create for the club.
That's a part of the game that I love, Woodward said. Competition brings out the best if it's done right, if it's a healthy competition. Leody and Eli are pretty good friends. They're not cutting each other's throat to win the job. Its just like a, 'May the best man win,' kind of thing. So I think it's good to push our younger guys. We have a lot of guys competing for spots right now, and I think it's really good for them."

Phillies notes: What JoJo Romero is thinking, how CF is trending, why Zack Wheeler will keep hitters guessing – The Athletic
Posted: at 3:00 am
CLEARWATER, Fla. JoJo Romero knows what he is this spring, so its a chance to discover who he is. His future remained unsettled a year ago because the Phillies hadnt determined whether Romero would continue as a starter or shift into a full-time bullpen role. He did enough in 2020 to convince them the bullpen was the right place.
Now, in Romeros mind, comes the fun part.
Everything is now with a reliever mindset, said Romero, 24. So its going to be interesting to see how Im able to do all that for that full year. And Im excited for it.
The spunky lefty loves to tinker. He threw four different pitches as a reliever in the majors, which is not normal. (Starters tend to whittle it to two or three in relief roles.) It was even weirder when he realized his change-up was now an out pitch even to lefties.

Missed Fists: Chaotic BRAVE CF event features slam knockout for the ages, crazy comeback, illegal knee contro – MMA Fighting
Posted: at 3:00 am
Welcome to the latest edition of Missed Fists where we shine a light on fights from across the globe that may have been overlooked in these hectic times where it seems like theres an MMA show every other day.
Theres a wide variety of clips to catch with this week, but honestly, we could have done a whole post just on the insane sequence of events that went down at Brave CF 47 (PPV replay available on FITE TV) in Bahrain on Thursday.
AL: Forget Rampage-Arona, this is absolutely the scariest slam KO Ive ever seen.
Ibrahim Mane did his best to convert this triangle, but Nursulton Ruziboev was having none of it and he just folded Ruziboev in half here. Thats not even fun to watch, you just hope that Mane is alright.
JM: You and I lead different lives, because I found that incredibly enjoyable to watch. That was a sick KO slam! Not as cool as the Aronabomb, but still very dope!
AL: Almost as shocking as that finish was Nemat Abdrashitovs comeback KO after nearly being choked out by Anzor Abdulkhozhaev.
Abdrashitov actually did the Call an ambulance! But not for me! bit in an MMA fight.
JM: Talk about your 180s. That thing pivoted instantly. Im still not entirely sure how Nemat wasnt choked out there. That looked like a fully locked on power gilly, but Nemat survived. Ive got to imagine Anzor is kicking himself watching that replay.
AL: Abdul Azim Badakhshi gave us an easy pick for Humpty Dumpty of the Week winner with this face-planting of Agshin Babaev.
JM: Oh, thats got real Humpty Dumpty of the Year potential for this years Fisties. Babaev face-planted like he was doing a belly-flop in the pool. Only the pool was made of sweaty, bloody canvas.
AL: Amid all this madness, Mohammad Farhads blistering right hand bomb should not be overlooked.
Maybe the most unnecessary hammer fist of 2021 so far.
JM: That may be the most weight Farhad will ever be able to get into a single punch. They way he had stepped off to the angle and the slow motion nature of Karims reaction allowed Farhad to take a full step into that shot. Thats some going-for-the-high-score-on-the-arcade-punching-game stuff right there.
AL: And then there was this.
An illegal knee! In this economy???
Thats right, with the Aljamain Sterling-Petr Yan controversy still fresh, we have Ali Guliev cracking Rana Rudra Pratap Singh with the infamous knee-to-a-grounded-opponent technique. In this instance, Guliev was simply penalized two points and the bout continued.
The point deduction didnt matter as Guliev found a finish shortly after to improve to 6-0 as a pro (Singh fell to 10-1). Cheating is back in the win column!
JM: Thats a far more explicable knee than the one Yan threw. Yan threw his knee against a fighter who was just chilling on the ground for several seconds and with the referee having explicitly called him a grounded fighter. Guliev at least throws his knee when it looks like RRPS is on his way up to his feet. If that thing lands a half-second later, its probably clean and thats probably a highlight-reel KO.
Also, it bears repeating that there being any such thing as an illegal knee is dumb as sh*t. The legality of strikes should be determined by the kind of strike itself or where it lands on the body, not the position of the opponents body when it lands. Its unconscionably dumb to do anything else (yes, that means soccer kicks and stomps should be legal, you ninnies).
AL: Preach.
Now if you want to see how to handle a grounded opponent right, check out Carrington Johnsons offense against Mardrell Kirby at Valor Fighting Challenge 79 in Knoxville, Tenn., last Friday.
Johnson just pushes Kirby back onto his feet, continues his attack, and then kicks his face off before he can get grounded again. Yan and Guliev, take notes!
JM: I mean, was that handling it right though? Another millisecond later and Johnsons kick is illegal. Again I say, this is all idiotic. Those knees and that kick were no less damaging if the fighter was down or not. You arent protecting fighters with this rule, just creating a world in which one fighter gets screwed because timing wasnt on their side.
AL: Enough with your preaching.
I promise theres more finishes coming, but first we have some more adventures in officiating (and cornering) to get to.
At Cage Fury Fighting Championship 92 (available on UFC Fight Pass) on Thursday, Christian Santos scored his first pro win against first-timer Shawn Stefanelli after Stefanellis corner threw in the towel. Santos was really putting it on Stefanelli and you can see the ending sequence here.
I actually dont think referee David Osaghee did a terrible job here. He could have stopped it sooner, but Stefanelli was working to escape bad positions, fighting Santos hands, and at no point did he eat a no-doubt, fight-ending shot. The accumulation of blows was scary though and I would have liked to at least have seen the fight paused to examine his eyes, one of which was swollen shut and the other bleeding.
JM: This is the platonic ideal of how fighting should work. Referees stop the fight when the fighter can no longer defend himself, corners stop it when the fighter can no longer reasonably expect to win. Stefanelli could not win this fight and was only going to take more damage moving forward, but he was still competing.
His corner correctly realized that it would be better both short and long term for them to concede defeat and go back to the gym to improve, instead of some vain hope that suffering a horrific ass-beating will make him go Super Saiyan or something. Well done all around.
AL: Nothing but praise for Stefanellis corner bailing him out. There was nothing to be gained from letting him fight much longer.
On the other side of the stoppage spectrum, referee Bill Bookwalter made sure to step in early to save Charalampos Grigoriou from Christian Rodriguez.
Rodriguez was clearly pulling away in the third round, but Grigoriou appeared to be avoiding the heaviest shots and was even firing back for the most part. This was a strange one for me, even if Rodriguez was on his way to a 10-8 round and a decision victory.
JM: Oof. Thats not a good stoppage. Thats another one where if his corner threw in the towel, thats fine but the referee shouldnt have jumped in there.
AL: Now for a finish that was without controversy.
Saidyokub Kakharamonov scorched Tycen Lynn with a combo and thenyoull appreciate thishe let him stand up so that he could finish him off on the feet. That stunning display of fight IQ earned Kakharamonov the CFFC bantamweight title.
JM: Thats the textbook definition of being too tough for your own good. I thought Lynn was done after getting dropped with that first salvo, but the man showed a ton of heart. Too much in fact, as he then tried throwing hands again only to meet his calamitous end.
AL: The other big winner on the night was Serra-Longo product Phumi Nkuta. He won a convincing decision over the unbeaten Albert Trujillo and captured a flyweight title in just his third pro bout.
Then he made the most of his camera time, cutting a solid post-fight promo as he was being interviewed by CM Punk, one of the best on the mic during his time in pro wrestling.
JM: Should it be noted that Matt Serra stops being an MMA corner and immediately the camp has two fighters win titles?
AL: (afraid to comment)
JM: No, but seriously, Serra is a good corner and that whole Aljo thing is a little weird and you can see from Nkutas comments how he much he values Serra.
AL: Now on to the quick and brutal hits of the week.
From MMA SERIES-27 in St. Petersburg, Russia on Saturday. I dont know what Konstantin Cherednichenkos insides did to Anatoliy Moiseev to deserve this treatment, but I hope all is forgiven now.
JM: Thats the best highlight Ive seen in six months. Moiseev probably could have been signed to, like, Bellator right out of the gate given his kickboxing history but after that theres really no reason not to give this man a shot in the majors.
AL: At a ShoBox show in glamorous Uncasville, Conn., on Tuesday, 21-year-old junior welterweight prospect Brandun Lee recorded his 20th KO in 22 victories to date, walloping Samuel Teah with a right hand.
JM: Hey look at that, real boxing! I forgot that existed. Was too absorbed in all the carnival boxing bouts on the horizon (Paul-Askren, here I come!)
AL: Lets not forget British millionaire vs. Colombian reggaeton star. Live on PPV, April 17, for just $49.99! Only in America!
You can read more about this other so-called real boxing event over on Bad Left Hook.
Im just going to say it: Ionut Iancu was holding it down for all of us shlubby dudes out here, making short work of Costin Mincu at Dynamite Fighting Show 10 in Romania on Tuesday.
JM: God, that was awesome. Mincu throws that fancy-ass wheel kick and Iancu just says nah, and levels him. I love that for as much as we want fighting to be about technique and finesse, (*ahem* Israel Adesanya *ahem*), often its just about being a large human being who throws hammers.
AL: Okay, this could have been the Humpty Dumpty of the Week, but Im ruling it out because Thomas Blanck doesnt so much fall as gently ease himself down to the canvas while trying to remember what his life was like just hours ago when his legs hadnt been transformed into jello.
JM: Thats no Humpty Dumpy. Blanck is just taking a rest. Give him a few minutes and hell be up and at em again.
AL: We turn to the amateurs to close out this week, but make no mistake these finishes are as professional as it gets.
Ohio Combat League (PPV replays available on Combat Sports Now) held back-to-back events in Newark, Ohio, last Friday and Saturday, and each evening gave us straight shot KOs that were eerily similar.
The second clip featuring Ronald Castaneda probably gets the edge here as his finish came in just 14 seconds.
JM: I love that amateur MMA is just MMA where you dont pay fighters. So basically the UFC.
AL: Real.
And now, from United Fighting Series 10 (free replay available on Facebook) in Buenos Aires on Sunday, my favorite 20-second fight of 2021, please enjoy Julieta Martinez just going buckwild on Nayla Arla.
That spinning roundhouse Martinez throws is exquisite.
JM: Now THATS amateur MMA. Shin pads, mismatches, and a total lack of defense. How do you not love this, the sport of kings and queens?
AL: Hopefully, Martinez isnt denied her pro license someday after testing positive for excess amounts of awesome sauce.
This poll is closed.

Life Imaging is Conducting a Reg CF Campaign on StartEngine – Yahoo Finance
Posted: at 3:00 am
Life Imaging is raising funds on StartEngine to be a real solution for early detection.
DEERFIELD BEACH, Fla., March 10, 2021 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Life Imaging is conducting a Regulation CF campaign on StartEngine with hopes to provide education and an affordable solution to early detection of the two deadliest diseases known to humankind; heart disease and cancer.
Life Imaging's goal is to get to the problem early and save lives.
Founder, Tom Graham, experienced loss first hand and knew he needed to take preventative action to reduce preventable deaths in the United States.
Tom's solution?
Early detection, a medical screening service that allows Life Imaging to tackle heart disease and cancer before life-threatening symptoms occur.
Life Imaging uses FDA-approved state-of-the-art low-dose GE scanners that use a fraction of a standard CT scanner's radiation to detect cancer and heart disease before a patient shows any symptoms. The technology can sometimes detect symptoms of a disease, sometimes a decade ahead. By adapting and optimizing an existing technology, Life Imaging can save on costs while also providing FDA-approved and recognized services by their consumers.
Full-body scans can cost thousands of dollars through insurance. Life Imaging's packages are just a few hundred dollars a scan, making their body scans incredibly affordable. Plus, the scanning protocols are straightforward, don't require any contrast or dyes, and only take a mere five-ten minutes of your time for the scan itself.
Tom's goal is to have Life Imaging worldwide so anyone can have access to affordable preventative care, and by doing that, save lives every day.
To do so, Life Imaging is conducting a Reg CF campaign on StartEngine.
Life Imaging has already established itself as a critical player in the space, with their South Florida flagship clinic close to opening. South Florida is an ideal location for Life Imaging, as it is the eighth largest market in the US with seven million-plus people.
Story continues
More importantly, South Florida is full of baby boomers who have retired, also known as the "Gold Coast."
The area is well known as one of the United States' most prominent retirement destinations-Life Imaging's ideal demographic.
Life Imaging anticipates servicing all of South Florida from the North of Miami to West Palm Beach, which means they will directly serve those who need their services the most while supporting Life Imaging's business growth. From this location, Life Imaging plans on expanding by using its flagship facility to train more employees from other cities around the US and the world.
Tom Graham, the Founder, explains, "Millions of people walk around every day with heart disease and cancer that are asymptomatic. They're walking timebombs without even knowing it. Even worse, many people don't realize that with our technology, there is an extremely accurate, painless, and non-intrusive way to detect these deadly diseases early."
Life Imaging believes they stand out from the competition due to their key differentiators:
Quality: Life Imaging facilities use licensed radiologists rather than doctors, which allows them to maintain the highest quality experience at a lower cost.
Affordability: With bundled payments, the cost per scan is 70% cheaper than traditional scans. Not only this, reactive treatment is shown to cost more to the consumer than preventative medicine.
Ease of use: A life Imaging scan itself takes only five-ten minutes, and their detailed reports have a 98% accuracy which is provided the same day. Convenience is one of their core values.
Tom explains, "Most of our investors are excited about being a part of this business opportunity, not just from the money-making opportunity but also from personal experiences."
The founder continues and states, "Unfortunately, chances are you have a friend or a loved one who has been affected by a serious or fatal health condition. Based on the statistics, far too many of us have had to let go of someone we love. The worst part is, conditions such as heart disease and cancer are often preventable with the proper screening, and early detection saves lives."
Life Imaging realized their vision with their flagship clinic opening up with the scanners being installed very soon. Tom states, "We can't wait to see what the future has in store for affordable preventative care, and if you want to help support our progress, then get involved and invest in Life Imaging on StartEngine!"
Life Imaging is currently conducting a Reg CF Campaign on the equity crowdfunding platform StartEngine, where everyday investors can learn more about the technology and potentially invest in the company at an early stage.

New Reg CF Funding Portals Emerge as Funding Cap is Poised to Jump from $1.07 Million to $5 Million – Crowdfund Insider
Posted: at 3:00 am
The number of FINRA regulated funding portals continues to move higher in advance of the increase in the funding cap of Regulation Crowdfunding (Reg CF). On March 15, 2020, it is expected that issuers will be able to raise $5 million using Reg CF a significant increase from its current $1.07 million funding cap. Last year, the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) approved a host of updates to the securities crowdfunding ecosystem. You may review all of these changes here. The headline change was enabling issuers to raise $5 million in capital under the Reg CF exemption. This increase has been embraced by both issuers and platforms as smaller firms will now have the opportunity to more easily raise the capital they need instead of the anemic million dollar amount that frequently falls short for a seed round. Platforms are expected to see renewed interest in the exemption and one industry insider predicts that Reg CF funding should top one billion in funding in 2021 due to these changes.
Periodically, Crowdfund Insider reviews the fleet of regulated funding portals, a type of entity created under the JOBS Act of 2012 sort of like a broker-dealer lite. Since Reg CF became actionable (in 2016) the number of funding portals has continued to inch higher. The last time we reviewed the number of funding portals was in December of 2020. At that time there were 62 funding portals, today that number stands at 67 as five more names were added to the roster. Of note, is the fact that two funding portals have long been suspended by FINRA and should really not be included on the list (FINRA perhaps you can remove them?). So in actuality, there are 65 platforms.
The number of former platforms that exited the sector, either by choice or by being encouraged by regulators, stands at 14. It must be pointed out that registered Broker-Dealers may issue securities under Reg CF as well and do not need to be approved as a funding portal.
So who is new?
The Reg CF sector continues to be dominated by a handful of platforms with StartEngine and Wefunder leading with Republic and SeedInvest in the mix. Of course, past success is no guarantee of future performance and the industry is still very much in its formative years. Most platforms offer securities under other exemptions, most importantly Reg A+ and Reg D. Reg A+ also received some attention from the SEC as the funding cap on this mini-IPO type exemption was bumped up from $50 million to $75 million (Tier 2).
Recently, during a crowdfunding discussion on Clubhouse, one prominent industry insider predicted that, over time, the number of funding portals will diminish with a few large platforms emerging as well as a squadron of niche-focused finding a sustainable place. Right now, it is hard to tell how large the market is for early-stage private company investments being pitched to retail investors.

Stewarts of Tayside has taken delivery of nine new Volvo FH 500 6x2 Globetrotter XL tractor units. The fresh produce supplier will add the units to its 30-strong fleet of Volvo with one unit being an FH with I-Save which will be close scrutinised for its claimed fuel benefits.
The new trucks, which are both fleet additions and replacements, will operate seven days per week on long-distance refrigerated work covered up to 160,000km per year.
They have been supplied by Volvo Truck and Bus Centre North & Scotland and feature Globetrotter XL cabs with the Drive Plus package that includes full leather seats and fridge/freezer.
Jim Winn, transport manager at Stewarts of Tayside, said: The aftersales support we receive from Volvo is the best weve ever experienced, and why they remain our primary supplier. We get a great level of service from our local dealer and the team always goes above and beyond to look after us. We knew we could rely on them yet again, as we extended and upgraded our fleet.
Weve been looking to cut both our fuel costs and environmental footprint for some time and had heard positive things about the FH with I-Save, explained Winn.
We choose vehicles that are going to be as efficient as possible for our line of work, so were excited to see the impact the I-Save model has. If it lives up to its reputation, then we will look to add more to the fleet the next time we upgrade.
Driver satisfaction is hugely important for us. Our team are big Volvo fans and always commenting on how well they handle. Between the driving experience and the in-cab comfort, were confident our drivers will be really pleased with the latest additions, added Winn.

Jorge Mas: Inter Miami CF expect "top-three" finish in Eastern Conference in Year Two – MLSsoccer.com
Posted: February 28, 2021 at 10:29 pm
The bar has been risen for Inter Miami CF.
After an expansion season that included an Audi 2020 MLS Cup Playoff berth and significant sporting department upheaval with the departures of coach Diego Alonso and sporting director Paul McDonough, Inter Miami have a different look in Year Two with the arrival of Chris Henderson and Phil Neville and a more hands-on approach by co-owner David Beckham.
And with that comes heightened expectations from ownership.
We want to be feared and respected both, with a great product on the field and respected in the way we go about it and do it, Inter Miami co-owner Jorge Mas said at a press conference Saturday. We aspire to be a top-three team in the Eastern Conference. We want to host a home playoff game, we want to make a run for an MLS Cup. With the type of things were doing on the roster, I think those are very achievable and attainable goals for this year.
Henderson, who was hired as sporting director, and Neville, a former teammate of Beckhams on the legendary Manchester United teams of 1990s and new head coach, have changed the atmosphere at the club, according to Beckham.
This building has changed overnight since Phil and Chris came in, Beckham said. Theres a unity there that wasnt there. That was important. People would say, Whats your system? What are you playing? 4-4-2? The important part is not that. Its the details. How fit are the players? What are they doing on and off the pitch? Phil has made a huge difference so far with that. Theres a real plan. We can see that with the training the players have done so far. And there is no disconnect between the U13s, the U17s, our USL team and our first team. There is a synergy.
Neville's only previous managerial experience was with the England womens national team, but he's been following MLS since Beckhams ballyhooed arrived as an LA Galaxy player in 2007. While hes not intimately familiar with the league's roster-building complexities, Neville made sure hes got a support support from that standpoint.
Ive surrounded myself with experienced people who have been in MLS for a long time, Neville said. Im not the type of coach that takes four or five staff with him everywhere he goes. I like to go to a place and immerse myself in the place with specialists in that area. I am only bringing two people and surrounding myself with MLS experience, people who understand the travel, challenges, the rules. With the right people around me thats where we will gel.
