CF (CF) Stock Jumps 6.1%: Will It Continue to Soar? – Entrepreneur
Posted: September 24, 2021 at 11:51 am
This story originally appeared on Zacks
CF Industries (CF) shares soared 6.1% in the last trading session to close at $53.49. The move was backed by solid volume with far more shares changing hands than in a normal session. This compares to the stock's 10.4% gain over the past four weeks.
- Zacks
The companys shares are heading higher following its move to restart the ammonia plant at its Billingham, UK complex. The resumption of operation follows an interim deal to cover the costs to restart the ammonia plant and produce CO2 for the UK market. CF Industries, last week, halted operations at both its Billingham and Ince, UK, manufacturing facilities due to high natural gas prices.
This fertilizer maker is expected to post quarterly earnings of $1.29 per share in its upcoming report, which represents a year-over-year change of +1092.3%. Revenues are expected to be $1.47 billion, up 73.1% from the year-ago quarter.
Earnings and revenue growth expectations certainly give a good sense of the potential strength in a stock, but empirical research shows that trends in earnings estimate revisions are strongly correlated with near-term stock price movements.
For CF, the consensus EPS estimate for the quarter has remained unchanged over the last 30 days. And a stock's price usually doesn't keep moving higher in the absence of any trend in earnings estimate revisions. So, make sure to keep an eye on CF going forward to see if this recent jump can turn into more strength down the road.

It’s Official: Canada’s CF-18 Hornet Fighters Are Set To Get New Advanced Radars – The Drive
Posted: at 11:51 am
At the same time, Canada has been a partner in the F-35 program since 1997, and technically still is, meaning it contributes tens of millions of dollars each year to support the continued development of that aircraft whether it ultimately buys any or not. You can read more about this obtuse arrangement here.
All of this only puts greater emphasis on the need to ensure that the RCAFs existing Hornet fleet, including the ex-Australian examples, remains operationally relevant for years to come. Under the Canadian governments current fighter acquisition schedule, which is hardly set in stone, the last legacy Hornets wouldnt leave service until 2032.
At the same time, the full scope of the Hornet Extension Program is not entirely unclear. When the U.S. government approved the sale of the AN/APG-79(V)4 radars and other parts of the upgrade package last year, the expected deal included only 38 radars total. This was not enough to refit Canada's entire Hornet fleet, even without the ex-Australian jets. Of course, even having a single AESA-equipped jet in a flight of CF-18A/B+ jets could provide benefits to the entire group, with information being shared with the other aircraft via datalinks.
So, a formal contract to begin adding AESA radars to the RCAFs Hornets is an important step forward in giving those aircraft a capability boost they desperately need. However, it remains to be seen just how many jets ultimately receive these new radars, or any other upgrades under the Hornet Extension Program, as Canada continues to meander through its attempts to recapitalize the countrys fighter jet force.

From China with fervor: CF Moto debuts in the 2022 Moto3 World Championship – GPOne.com

A new brand will be entering the Moto3 World Championship in 2022: CF Moto from China. The news was given bySpeedweek.com, which explained how this came about under the aegis of Stefan Pierer, the head of the namesake company to which KTM belongs. CF QB Thomas and defensive end Barker named Players of the Week – Camden News
Posted: at 11:51 am
The Camden Fairview Cardinals (3-1) are off to the best start of a football season they've seen since 2014.
Last Friday's game against the Watson Chapel Wildcats was a big one for the Cardinals for a couple reasons: the team wanted to finish their non-conference games on a high note, and get revenge on the Wildcats for beating them at home last season, 22-17.
Camden Fairview did get their revenge in a big way as they dominated Watson Chapel on the road 60-24.
This game showcased a dominating performance from several players on both sides of the ball, but there were two who impacted the outcome tremendously. Cardinals quarterback Martavius Thomas dominated the Wildcats' defense significantly, while defensive end Jacovey Baker made life difficult for the Wildcats' offense.
Thomas and Barker are Camden News's Week 4 Offensive and Defensive Players of the Week, respectively. This is the second time that Thomas and Barker were named Camden News' offensive and defensive players of the week.
The offense for the Cardinals had a unique strategy in mind while attacking the Watson Chapel's. The Wildcats had an experienced secondary, a strong interior defensive, and a solid middle linebacker. Camden Fairview was cautious about passing the ball deep as well as attacking up the middle in regular run plays.
The Cardinals didn't need Thomas to be an explosive passer; they needed him to be an efficient game-manager in Run-Pass-Option schemes. Not only was Thomas efficient as a playmaker in the RPO scheme, but he was also dominant. He threw for 101 yards, one touchdown and a quarterback rating of 135.9 on seven completions (out of ten passing attempts). He rushed for 133 yards and four touchdowns on eight carries.
Thomas accumulated 232 total yards on offense and five of the team's nine total touchdowns. Thomas' longest run was 64-yards as he was an explosive runner off the edge as soon as he saw the defenders crash into the running backs during the RPO plays. He made the defenders for Watson Chapel stall their decisions on who to attack in the backfield. Thomas was the perfect game-manager and the most explosive player on the offense for Camden Fairview.
On the defensive side of the ball for the Cardinals, senior defensive end Barker was one of the most disruptive players. Barker came off the edge as one of the most aggressive and consistent rushers for the Cardinals against the Wildcats.
Barker accounted for eight total tackles, six solo tackles, four tackles for loss and three sacks. He consistently created chaos in the backfield for Camden Fairview. He and linebacker Kameron Easttam were the first defenders that recognized the ball carriers in the backfield of Watson Chapel and made the open-field tackles. Barker was responsible for four of the team's nine tackles for loss for Camden Fairview and three of the six total sacks for Camden Fairview.
The Cardinals will start their 5A South conference play this Friday night as they face the Lakeside Rams in Hot Springs.

Who is CF Industries CEO Tony Will? Boss of US firm getting taxpayer funds for CO2 production – iNews
Posted: at 11:51 am
The jet-setting CEO of the American company being given taxpayers money to restart the production of carbon dioxide in the UK made 7 million last year.
Tony Will is boss of US fertiliser giant CF Industries, which has two factories in northern England.
According to the latest CF Industries proxy statement, he made over $9.7million (7.1 million) in total compensation which includes his salary, cash incentives and benefits in 2020.
The company is valued at 7.6 billion and listed on the New York Stock Exchange, according to The Times.
It produces around 60 per cent of the UKs carbon dioxide which is used across food supply chains in Britain, in everything from the slaughter process to the packaging used to keep salads, meat and bread fresh.
The CO2 shortage emerged afterproduction was paused at its plants in Teeside and Cheshire last weekbecause of the rising price of natural gas.
Multi-millionaire Mr Will, 56, flew into the UK from his Illinois headquarters over the weekend to meet Business Secretary Kwasi Kwarteng to discuss the crisis.
They had two meetings before todays reopening deal was struck: the Government is to pay the operating costs of the CF Industries fertiliser plant in Teeside for three weeks. Environment Secretary George Eustice said many millions, possibly the tens of millions will be given to the company to help restart production.
An announcement on the companys website said it was immediately restarting the ammonia plant at its Billingham, UK, complex.
The restart follows an interim agreement reached today to cover the costs to restart the ammonia plant and produce CO2for the UK market.
It said safely restarting the plant would take several days, adding: CO2is a byproduct of the ammonia production process. Safely restarting the ammonia plant at the Billingham Complex is expected to take several days.
CF Industries is one of the largest fertiliser companies in the world, employing more than 600 staff at its factories in Teeside and Cheshire and thousands more in the US and Canada.
It was founded in the US in 1946 as a federation of regional farmers co-operatives called the Central Farmers Fertilizer Company.
It became a publicly traded company in 2005 raising $660 million (483 million) on the New York Stock Exchange.
The same year, it bought a 50 per cent interest in fertiliser firm GrowHow UK, and five years later took full control of the company and its production facilities in Teesside and Cheshire in a 377 million deal.
At the companys Cheshire site a million tonnes of fertiliser are produced each year, which supply the grass and farming sectors.
In Teesside, its supply chain is estimated to be worth 500m a year to the regions economy.
Earlier this year, it was reported the firm was evaluating its options in the North East after being hit with a bill for millions by energy regulator Ofgem.
According to its proxy statements filed with the US Securities and Exchange Commission, Mr Will made more than 7 million in total compensation last year.
The tycoon became chief executive in 2014 after joining the company in 2007 as vice-president of corporate development.
His Instagram includes glamorous photos of his jet-setting lifestyle, including a picture of him lounging by a pool on the 73 million superyacht of Egyptian billionaire Nassef Sawiris.
According to The Times the account was made private yesterday hours before the announcement his company was to receive UK Government funding.
Other pictures showed the tycoon with his arm around US billionaire Warren Buffet after a game of high-stakes poker, and posing with a can of beer aboard a private Dassault Falcon jet.
In a statement on the reopening of the plant, Mr Will said the company was hoping to work with the Government on developing a longer-term solution including alternative suppliers.
He said: We want to thank The Honourable Kwasi Kwarteng, Secretary of State for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy, and his entire staff for working tirelessly to bring about this agreement enabling restart of the plant and averting a potential CO2supply disruption impacting many industries, including food and beverage availability to UK consumers.
We look forward to working with Secretary Kwarteng and the UK government on developing a longer-term solution, including the development of alternative suppliers of CO2for the UK market.
Prior to joining CF Industries Mr Will was a partner at global management consulting company Accenture Ltd and before that he was vice-president of business development at US department store Sears.
He received an undergraduate degree from Iowa State University and an MBA and a graduate degree from Kellogg School of Management.

Exclusive: BRAVE CFs Amin Ayoub Hyped For Ahmed Amir Grudge Match He Wants To Put On A Show, So Lets Do That – LowKick MMA
Posted: at 11:51 am
BRAVE CF Lightweight Champion Amin Ayoub is counting down the hours until his return to the cage this weekend. The French-Tunisian is preparing to defend his lightweight strap for the first time since winning the title at BRAVE CF 44 last November. Ayoub will take on Egyptian grappler Ahmed Amir in the main event of BRAVE CF 54, with the card marking the promotions first visit to Poland, which goes down this Saturday, September 25, in the city of Konin.
Ayoub was set to fight Amir at BRAVE CF 50 until a neck injury forced Amir to withdraw from the contest at the last minute. Ayoub went on to defeat Uzbekistans Mashrabjon Ruziboev in a 74kg catchweight bout. However, his performance failed to impress Amir, who ran up to the cage at the fights conclusion and began firing verbal volleys in Ayoubs direction.
The two already had established a mutual dislike of each other, but after Amirs cage side antics at BRAVE CF 50, Ayoub is looking forward to finally getting the chance to silence his opponent once and for all.
I feel very good. I am in a hurry to be in the cage for this defense, Amir is a very aggressive fighter, very arrogant outside the cage, and he wants to put on a show, so lets do that, Ayoub says, speaking to LowkickMMA.
He was not happy with my performance when I won against Ruziboev, and he came just beside the cage, but man, if you got an injury, what are doing in the arena, what are you doing beside the cage, stay in our room. You can talk talk talk, but he will pay for that in the cage.
The 25-year-old comes into bout this riding a wave of confidence as well as an eight-fight winning streak. Ayoub is one of the representatives of the growing French presence in MMA. At 15, he began kickboxing, but MMA was always in his blood. After developing his skill set as a striker, Ayoub headed to Belgium in 2014 to follow his MMA dream since MMA was illegal at the time.
Back-to-back losses in his first two bouts only fueled his fire, and after picking up his first win to help ring in the New Year in January of 2015, the Nantes-based fighter never looked back.
I fought in small organizations, and after that, I moved to bigger and bigger, and now I am with BRAVE, and BRAVE is very good, Ayoub explains.
He goes into this weekends bout knowing that Amir will want to get him to the ground as soon as possible. However, an extensive training camp in Bulgaria has him feeling he is ready for anything the Egyptian might throw at him.
I think I am much better than him, so maybe in the first or second round, it will be finished, he says.
I went to Bulgaria for a big training camp with Moldovan people and Bulgarian as well and all the best fighters from my management team, everybody came to Bulgaria to train together it was very good. Two weeks of a hard training camp and after that came back to France to train with my team, very good wrestlers, very good kickboxing as well. So I feel ready.
After MMA became legal in France at the start of 2020, the local MMA scene exploded into life following a four-year ban. Ayoub is proud to stand alongside his fellow French athletes in helping to put MMA on the map in France.
Now in France, we have [UFC interim Heavyweight Champion] Cyril Gaines. Its amazing for us because we have many talents in France. We want to show to the world we have many tough fighter,we are friends here. If my friend will fight, I will support him; we are like brothers in arms in France.
Five men have held the BRAVE CF lightweight title before Ayoub, and not one of them was able to defend it. So if Ayoub can make history this weekend by becoming the first BRAVE CF lightweight champ to defend his belt successfully, French MMA will have yet another reason to celebrate.
Will you be watching BRAVE CF 54

CF Industries (CF) Halts Operations at its UK Facilities – Entrepreneur
Posted: September 22, 2021 at 2:54 am
This story originally appeared on Zacks
CF Industries Holdings, Inc. CF recently announced that it is halting operations at both its Billingham and Ince, UK, manufacturing facilities due to high natural gas prices. The company does not have an estimate for when production will resume at these complexes.
- Zacks
The company is exposed to headwinds stemming from higher natural gas costs. CF Industries encountered higher year-over-year costs during first-half 2021. Natural gas cost was $3.24 per million British thermal units (MMBtu) in the first half of 2021, up from $2.20 per MMBtu in the year-ago period. The increase was partly driven by higher natural gas costs in the UK and increased gas prices in North America stemming from the severe winter weather.
The company expects natural gas costs to increase year over year in 2021. As such, higher natural gas costs may raise its cost of sales and hurt margins.
Shares of CF Industries have gained 53.9% in the past year compared with a 53.5% rise of the industry.
CF Industries, in its last earnings call, stated that it expects nitrogen pricing to be positive as higher economic activities, the need to replenish coarse grains stocks globally and increased energy prices in Europe and Asia are expected to sustain a tighter global nitrogen supply as well as demand balance into 2023.
The global demand for nitrogen is also strong, the company noted. It expects strong global demand for coarse grains to contribute to sustained low global stocks into 2022, supporting strong nitrogen demand in the upcoming years. An increase in economic activities has also contributed to higher industrial consumption of nitrogen products.
CF Industries currently carries a Zacks Rank #3 (Hold).
Some better-ranked stocks in the basic materials space are Nucor Corporation NUE, The Chemours Company CC and Olin Corporation OLN.

A two-day virtual event called BreatheCon will offer adults with cystic fibrosis (CF) an opportunity to connect and share their experiences through open and honest dialogue.
Registration for the Sept. 2425 event, which is hosted by the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, is free online.
CF can be extremely isolating, but it can feel even more so when it feels like theres no one like you in the community, Tannaz Motevalli, one of the event planners, said in an accompanying video.
Its extremely important that we learn how to be a community where no one feels alone when collecting with others with CF, they added.
This years BreatheCon will include, for the first time, a matching program for newer participants: attendees for whom this is their first or second BreatheCon will be paired with a veteran of the event, who will be in touch before the event starts and serve as a point of contact to answer questions and help newcomers navigate the online event space.
BreatheCon will kick off at 6:15 p.m. Sept. 24. The first day will feature an opening talk by three adults living with CF, two of whom are the events co-chairs. There also will be an artist showcase and an online happy hour where attendees can break into small groups for discussions.
The event resumes the next afternoon. The second day of BreatheCon will include a variety of sessions in which experts will talk about specific aspects of navigating life with CF, ranging from ensuring adequate nutrition, to navigating challenges with insurance, to mental health considerations.
There will be talks about Trikafta, a triple-combination therapy for CF caused by certain mutations, as well as opportunities for participants to engage in physical exercise and improvisational comedy. The second day also will feature several chances for small group discussions, and the events last day will conclude with a second happy hour.
Attendees at BreatheCon are asked to adhere to certain community guidelines, including refraining from offensive speech, being respectful of others life experiences, and keeping breakout videos and chats confidential. Attendees also are asked to use their real identity in the online space, and not to ask for or give medical advice.
