Should I Smoke CBD? Why Many Are Turning to CBD Pre-Rolls – The Southern Maryland Chronicle
Posted: December 10, 2020 at 5:01 am
CBD oil is the most recognizable method of imbibing CBD, but in recent years, people have begun branching out to new and exciting methods of enjoying their CBD.
Alongside CBD vape pens and edibles, users have begun smoking their CBD in the form of a CBD joint. This consumption method might make it look like someone is smoking regular marijuana, thus carrying with it certain risks when it comes to legality, but it is actually a surprisingly effective way of imbibing CBD quickly.
Should new CBD users go straight to smoking CBD joints? Why is it that so many people are starting to use CBD pre-rolls, and what are they in the first place?
How Does Smoking CBD Work & What Are Pre-Rolls?
Smoking CBD is definitely the oldest method of imbibing anything cannabinoid related, as that has always been the traditional way to enjoy cannabis.
However, it isnt just convenience and tradition that leads people to smoke cannabis; it also has many benefits when it comes to bioavailability.
Bioavailability is the ability of a drug to circulate around the body and induce active effects. If you can find a way to imbibe a substance with a higher rate of bioavailability, you will end up feeling more of its effects.
According to a study by Xu et al., the more common method of taking CBD, tinctures, is an oral method and has a bioavailability of around 8.6%.
However, if CBD is imbibed through smoking, the bioavailability goes up a significant amount, all the way to 31%, according to a separatestudyby Millar et al.
This means that smoking CBD oil drastically improves CBDs effectiveness, making it so that users can feel the effects of the CBD much more significantly.
This should mean that every CBD user should only ever imbibe CBD through smoking, right? Or are there any reasons why some people would prefer to stick to CBD oil?
Why Some People Prefer CBD Oils, Despite Their Lower Bioavailability
Despite the fact that smoking CBD offers a much greater bioavailability, there are still plenty of people who prefer to use CBD oil instead.
One of the reasons that some people still use CBD oil is because they are inherently discreet. If someone were to try and smoke CBD, everyone around them would immediately know about it.
This is a big problem in social environments, as not only do smokers have to deal with people who dont want others smoking around them, but it is also an issue when it comes to legality.
While imbibing CBD is perfectly legal, it can look pretty much identical to regular cannabis smoking when a person chooses to smoke it. This can draw unwanted attention and possibly even put a person at risk of being arrested, despite the fact that they wouldnt be imbibing any THC whatsoever.
CBD oil, meanwhile, is incredibly discreet, as the user only needs to add a few small droplets into their mouths. Even if people notice them doing it, they wont think anything of it, nor will it ever be a risk when it comes to legality.
So, for those who need to take CBD while out and about, it can actually be a lot easier and safer to stick to CBD oils.
Some people also have a problem with smoking in general; asthma, bronchitis, and other respiratory issues can make it very dangerous for some people. For those people, trying to smoke CBD can be pretty dangerous.
How to Get Started with Smoking CBD & CBD Pre-Rolls
Getting started with smoking CBD joints can sometimes be a little difficult for those who arent used to it. CBD oils are very well known and widely sold, but CBD joints are not as frequently offered online.
New users should stick to places that offer CBD joints for sale alongside trustworthy lab reports when it comes to buying CBD joints. Websites like Premium Jane not only offer high-quality CBD products in general but also the information necessary to get started with smoking CBD joints.
It is also essential to make sure that users are only buying from trustworthy retailers because shipping and consuming products that look a lot like regular cannabis can sometimes feel very dangerous.
Sticking to places like Premium Jane not only gives the user confidence that what they are getting is high quality, but also that they will be completely safe while enjoying it.

Study: Some CBD Oils Equally, Less Effective Than Pure CBD At Inhibiting Cancer Cell Lines
According to a press release, earlier research has found that CBD or tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) can reduce cancer cell viability in some cancer cell models. Proponents of medical marijuana argue that there is an additive effect between the various compounds in the plant material, increasing its therapeutic efficacy compared with individual, pure cannabinoid compounds. This concept, known as the entourage effect, is not supported by the studys findings, according to the authors.
Investigators studied brain, skin, and colorectal cancers, with 2 cell lines for each cancer type. They found that pure CBD was able to reduce cell viability in 3 of the 6 cell lines and that this effect was cell line-specific rather than specific to certain cancers. None of the CBD oils tested were able to reduce viability to a greater extent than the pure CBD.
Based on our results, we recommend that specific investigations on the entourage effect be carried out when determining the therapeutic uses of medical marijuana and other cannabinoid products, said researcher Kent Vrana, PhD, in the press release.
The investigators said they carefully designed the study so that the amounts of CBD oil used for testing had an equivalent amount of CBD as the pure CBD used in the experiments. They used 3 types of CBD oil with certificates of analysis and had their composition verified by a third-party laboratory. Equal concentrations were used to treat each of the 6 cell lines.
After evaluating the viability of the treated cell lines, the team determined that the CBD had an effect on 1 of each of the colorectal cancer, melanoma, and glioblastoma cell lines. The viability of the other lines tested was no significantly reduced.
Vrana noted that because a previous study evaluating the use of THC in breast cancer cells suggested an entourage effect in that context, careful testing of cannabinoids should be done for each proposed therapeutic context.
Pure CBD had the ability to reduce certain cancer cell types viability in this study, Vrana said in the statement. It would be reckless for a consumer to assume that a CBD oil product off the shelf could have the same effects for them, which is why careful studies around the entourage effect are needed for each intended therapeutic application.

15 best CBD drinks that can help you relax: From infused tea to gin – The Independent
Posted: at 5:01 am
Stressed? Having trouble sleeping? Finding it hard to concentrate? Or looking for a healthier alternative to booze? CBD drinks claim to hold the answer. And drinks makers are fast jumping on the trend with an ever wider array of products.
In a year defined by stress and anxiety, self-care has become an increasingly important focus for many. Its no wonder then that the CBD market has boomed during 2020, with the so-called wonder ingredient now to be found in everything from tea to hot chocolate, gin to cold-brew coffee.
To be clear, CBD or cannabidiol which is predominantly found in the buds and flowers of the hemp plant cannot and does not get you high. You need THC for that.
Nor is it addictive. But it is claimed that it can help balance the body and mind, regulating everything from anxiety and mood, help to boost concentration, reduce inflammation, and aid sleep through relaxation.
Right now, people want to take the edge off, says Olivia Ferdi, co-founder of CBD drinks brand, Trip. What CBD does is help balance any excess stress or tension you might be feeling. It is a molecule that interacts with the endocannabinoid system in the body which regulates and balances many processes.
CBD works to give fuel to this system, so it can optimise its job. I dont think theres many people who wouldnt want to be feeling more balanced.
If youve ever tried a CBD oil however, you may be aware that it has an incredibly bitter taste. CBD drinks then, offer an easy way to make CBD a part of a daily routine, minus that intense bitterness. Tapping into health and wellness trends, there are a number of low calorie drinks or alcohol alternatives emerging, while other brands claim to be healthier alternatives to sodas, workout supplements, pre-meeting pick-me-ups, or vitamin supplements.
In many ways, this is an industry in its infancy. Currently the Food Standards Agency(FSA) recommends that healthy adults consume no more than 70mg a day, and thosewho are pregnant, breastfeeding or taking any medication not to consume CBD products.
With CBD products being so new, theFSA is currently having a consultation on the sector asking CBD brands to apply fornovel foodauthorisationby March 2021 in order to remain on the market.
Though CBD affects everyone differently, were looking for a high enough dose per drink to offer a benefit. Again, it depends on the individual, dosage and the CBD quality used, but the effects can generally be felt as soon as 20 minutes after consumption. And finally, alongside value for money, were looking for how easily products fit into daily routines or specific occasions.

Described as a liquid hug by founder Dave Gibson, the Gibsons Goodology range of tea-based drinks is intended to help make imbibers feel their best. Each are made from just five natural ingredients including tea, fruit, agave syrup, lemon juice, and a generous 25mg water soluble CBD per 250ml can. However, this is a flavour-first brand theres no grassy off-notes here. Developed with Oskar Kinberg, mixologist and bar manager of Michelin-starred London restaurant Hide, the range includes green tea and passion fruit, a good caffeinated morning pick-me-up, jasmine tea and rhubarb which is recommended as a post-workout recovery drink, and our favourite: shiso tea and blueberry. Beginning with a zesty burst from the shiso and a slight earthiness, the thick mouthfeel and rich colour reminds us somewhat of a grown-up Ribena. Lovely on its own as an evening tipple. Naughtier with a splash of vodka.
How much? If youre used to paying under 10 for your cocktail bitters, then the price of premium CBD brand OTOs non-alcoholic ones might come as a bit of a shock. If youre used to buying CBD oil, then it probably wont. But factor in that this 100ml bottle contains 2500mg of CBD (equating to around 25mg per serve, and 100 serves a bottle) then the reasons behind its price tag become clearer.
Said to enhance everything from coffee and juices, to cocktails and tonics, these sugar-free bitters give flexibility if youre trying to incorporate CBD into your daily routine, but granted are perhaps prohibitively priced for the novice. The brand recommends two serves a day for optimum effect. Taste-wise, they add a pleasing warming spice, with a little citrus and some floral notes. We love them served simply with a tonic, or added to black coffee. But if you want to try OTO for less, the range also includes canned botanical seltzers.
Inspired by voyages through Asia, Muhu was created to offer gin drinkers something a little different. Said to be engineered for relaxation, its made with full-spectrum CBD oil from responsibly farmed, high-quality Colorado-grown hemp, which is, in Muhus case, deliberately flavourless. Unlike a number of other CBD gins, this one isnt cloudy, but crystal clear.
And though this gin is also flavoured with hibiscus, its still very much juniper-forward, like a good gin should be. Theres no specified quantity of CBD on the bottle and no bitter earthy taste here but we felt its effects were noticeable. Fresh and menthol at first, building to a really punchy big mouthfeel, theres a pleasant but not overpowering burst of hibiscus towards the end.
Launched in 2019, Trip was created when the co-founder Olivia Ferdis husband Dan underwent knee surgery just before their wedding. Upon finding CBD, the oil helped him make it to the dance floor and the couple set about making a CBD product that fits into peoples everyday lives, minus that intensely bitter taste. Intended to balance functionality with flavour, the range uses no added sugar, is vegan-friendly, gluten-free, low calorie, and is enhanced with adaptogens to support immunity, focus and stress-relief.
Theres three CBD-infused drinks including a lightly sparkling peach ginger and a cold brew coffee, for jitter-free energy as well as two flavoured CBD oils. But we most enjoyed the sparkling elderflower mint drink, with its cooling, refreshing taste. Alongside 15mg of CBD derived from UK-grown organic hemp per can, it also contains l-theanine said to aid relaxation, lemon balm and ginseng for focus, and rooibos for digestion.
Love them or loathe them and trust me, they are divisive hard seltzers have been one of the big drinks trends of 2020, with everyone from big brewers to small craft distillers producing their own. For their fans, theyre a low calorie way of still enjoying alcohol. For their detractors, they can seem a little, ummm, bland.
Not so is this offering from London bar Behind This Wall, which is said to be the UKs first CBD-infused hard seltzer. In actuality, this flavourful seltzer is more of a cocktail, combining spiced rum, soju, honey and ginger syrup, lemon, cardamon, seltzer water, bitters, and of course 15mg of CBD. Combining two big trends is a canny move. Its also incredibly delicious.
You might know Silent Pool gin for its distinctive blue bottles. For this gin, the Surrey-based distillery has teamed up with CBD company, Green Stem, to produce what it claims to be a spirit containing the UK's highest concentrate of CBD, at 200mg of CBD oil per 500ml bottle, or 10mg per 25ml serve. This strong dose of Colorado-sourced CBD is intended, according to the brand, to deliver the ultimate chill-out gin drinking experience.
In the bottle, the liquid is a little cloudy, due to the high concentration of CBD oil. On the nose, theres a grassy aroma alongside the bitterness of juniper. And to sip theres a lot of citrus, notably orange and grapefruit, and then a distinctly green finish. In fact, the CBD is very much part of the flavour of this one, with the cool notes of the gin, paired well with the warming earthiness of the CBD. At 50 a bottle, its certainly not cheap. Pair with a grapefruit-flavoured tonic.
Of course inspired by the pina colada cocktail, this lightly sparkling tipple really does taste like the real thing. Although sweet, the tang of fresh pineapple upfront gives way to a creamy coconut finish. What really makes the Little Rick range which also includes raspberry coconut and lime and mint standout though, is its high CBD content, at 32mg per 330ml can. The brand also claims that its production methods allow the active ingredients to be absorbed into the bloodstream more effectively, helping absorb up to four times more cannabinoids. Flavour-wise, this one also works well with rum.
Bored of gin and tonic, or rum and coke? This functionality-focused brand uses nootropics, adaptogens, herbs, nutrients and 15mg of broad spectrum liposomal CBD, which is said to be easier for the body to absorb. In fact its six-strong wellness drinks range, from cranberry and lime flavour to espresso and vanilla, is named for the purpose of each; calm, defence, sleep, recover, focus and glow.
However, were rather taken with its no-lo range, described as ideal mixers or non-alcoholic alternatives. Again named for functionality, the cranberry and lime boost is recommended served with vodka, lavender and chamomile calm can be paired with rum, orange and pineapple recover works with mezcal, and elderflower and lime glow mixes well with gin.
If youre new to CBD and are looking for an inexpensive and low dose way to dip your toe in the pool, this low-alcohol beer from independent UK brewery Hop & Hemp might be for you. Made with citra, cascade, and mosaic hops, each bottle includes 8mg of CBD. Crisp and refreshing, its not quite as hoppy as many alcohol-free beers, and the CBD doesnt overpower the beer. Instead theres bright citrus, specifically a little lemon, and a slight toffee note on the finish. A great alternative if youre taking some time off the sauce.
This functional sparkling water drink from Calm claims to be world's first multi vitamin drink infused with CBD, and is intended to support your immune system with its blend of multi-vitamins, including vitamin A, B, C, D, E and K, as well as 10mg of CBD per can. Lightly sparkling, overall this tastes like a less sweet orange soda. The range also includes a lemon and lime flavour, and mixed berry water, cold brew coffee, as well as Belgian hot chocolate.
Fruity and warming, this ginger and turmeric sparkling water hails from a brand started in a Battersea kitchen, with recipes designed to help deal with the challenges of modern life. The refresh and relax sparkling water is intended to be a low sugar alternative to soft drinks, and is gluten-free and free from artificial ingredients, contains 10mg of CBD, and is sweetened with maple. If youre looking for a festive winter warmer, this may be it.
This fruity number is a cider by name, but with its mix of sweet and sour, sips more like a kombucha. And like a kombucha, it may divide opinion. The Champions cider range of alcohol-free ciders has been created by a group of former International rugby players (Charlie and James Simpson-Daniel, and Will Greenwood) frustrated by the lack of alcohol-free alternatives made without preservatives or high quantities of added sugar.
This CBD-infused, vegan-friendly flavour has 11.2g of naturally occurring sugar and a hefty 25mg of CBD per bottle. That sour note comes from the inclusion of apple cider vinegar, while apple juice and kiwi flavour gives this slightly sparkling liquid a solid mouthfeel and sweetness. If you like a touch of tart sourness, youll love this.
Though this Scottish gin includes a relatively low amount of CBD at 10mg (each 50ml measure contains 1mg of CBD), it also uses hemp seeds alongside botanicals such as milk thistle and blossom honey, for a smooth and enjoyably herbal sipper. Theres a little earthiness, and at times its also a little creamy, ending with a pleasing dry finish. One to sip and savour. More stock expected soon.
If youve ever tried a cold brew coffee before, you may be aware that some of them can pack quite a punch. This method of steeping coffee in cool water not only results in a sweeter, smoother-tasting brew but is often more concentrated than a regular coffee. However, woman-led start-up My Lifeline claims that the addition of CBD to its range helps balance out the impact of caffeine, with a generous 20mg per 200ml bottle, for composure.
Made from a blend of coffee beans from Colombia, Peru and India, roasted and ground in the UK, theres a spiced, and also a coconut flavoured brew in the range. But for its nutty and chocolatey top notes we favour the cool original variant, made with 90 per cent Arabica and 10 per cent robusta coffee, and a touch of Himalayan salt.
As hops and cannabis belong genetically to the same cannabaceae plant family, they make great brewing partners, according to Green Times Brewing. Vegan friendly, gluten-free and brewed in the UK, this IPA is made with amarillo, mosaic, and waiti hops, and is infused with an unspecified amount of CBD oil.
There is a discernible earthiness and thick mouthfeel from the CBD, which is a little more overt here than in a number of other products, but overall the beer is balanced with some tropical fruit notes and a lingering dry finish. And for those not drinking, a low-alcohol version, at 0.5 per cent ABV, is available. The company has also partnered with a reforestation charity called Eden Reforestation Projects to plant a tree for every order received.
The verdict: CBD drinks
For its nuanced flavours, great value, easy canned format, high dosage of CBD and its versatility when it comes to mixing as well as occasions to drink them be it a morning pick-me-up or evening cocktail we love the Gibson's Goodology range.
However, the OTO CBD bitters deserve a special mention too. Though pricey, we think they represent good value when compared to the price of buying a CBD oil, as well as being exceptionally tasty and easy to add to your favourite drinks.

Learn About The Best CBD Absorption Methods For Bioavailability – Oregon Cannabis Connection
Posted: at 5:01 am
CBDs growing popularity shouldnt come as a surprise to people. Thanks to the many health benefits it provides, the CBD industry doesnt seem to be slowing down at all. In fact, according to recent statistics, the global CBD oil and consumer health market is expected to reach $123.2 billion by 2027.
As a result of this popularity, more CBD infused products are becoming available on the market. This gives people the opportunity to choose the product that best serves their needs. However, making this choice may not come easy to everyone because many factors are taken into consideration. Some of the most common ones include personal preference, tastiness or digestibility.
Besides these factors, another one which may actually be regarded as the most important is bioavailability. The biggest difference between all CBD products is in fact how much CBD is present in each. Therefore, if you are planning to enter the world of CBD, but you arent sure which infused product is the right option for you, keep reading to learn more about the best CBD absorption methods in terms of their bioavailability.
The bioavailability of a product refers to the amount of the active ingredient, in this case, CBD, which reaches your bloodstream once you have consumed it. So, for the ingredient to become fully active in the body, it must reach the cannabinoid receptors that make up the endocannabinoid system. The method you use to administer CBD will affect how much of it gets absorbed by the body.
This administration goes through a process known as pharmacokinetics. It basically refers to the mechanisms your body uses to absorb and eliminate CBD as well as the external factors that can help or obstruct the administration. Therefore, your choice on how to take CBD oil affects your overall bioavailability. Here is a brief explanation of the most common CBD absorption methods.
Intravenous injection of CBD directly into the bloodstream offers 100% bioavailability. In other words, once CBD is injected into the veins, the entire dosage will be in full circulation. While this absorption method may be considered effective from the pharmacokinetics point of view, there is a major issue that occurs when CBD is injected. This refers to the rapid decrease of blood levels when CBD enters the bloodstream through the veins.
Besides this, the intravenous absorption method may be time-consuming and unpleasant to some people, so it shouldnt come as a surprise if it doesnt become among the most preferable ways of consuming CBD.
When inhaled, CBD has an intranasal bioavailability of 34% to 46%. The high bioavailability is due to the nasal cavities in the nose which are covered in thin mucosas. This allows CBD to enter the bloodstream rapidly bypassing the digestive system.
Inhaling CBD oil through a vape pen means that CBD will be absorbed through your lungs almost immediately. Once CBD reaches your bloodstream, it binds with the endocannabinoid receptors in your body. As you continue to inhale, you will be providing a continuous dose of CBD which will be instantly and efficiently absorbed through your lungs.
The most popular consumption method of CBD is through tinctures. This is done by applying a few drops under your tongue providing a sublingual bioavailability of 12% to 35%. By holding it under the tongue, CBD will be absorbed by your glands through which it enters your bloodstream bypassing the digestive system.
However, in most cases, a portion of CBD will be naturally swallowed, so the bioavailability will most likely decrease. In order to achieve the best effects, it is recommended that you try to hold CBD beneath the tongue for between 30 and 60 seconds.
Oral ingestion of CBD is another very popular and convenient consumption method among consumers. One reason for this may be because CBD edibles come in different forms such as gummies, cakes and beverages which are also available in different flavors.Even though its a very popular method, ingested CBD has a bioavailability of 6% to 20%. This is because when you consume CBD orally, it first passes through the digestive system before it reaches your bloodstream. This process may take a while, even up to 2 hours, and there is a possibility that some of the CBD will get lost to the liver and digestive tract.
CBD can also be consumed topically through the skin. In this case, CBD is primarily engaged with the endocannabinoid receptors located in the nervous system. For that reason, this topical consumption of CBD is mostly used for providing pain relief in particularly problematic areas such as muscles or joints.
Unfortunately, the bioavailability of topical CBD hasnt been determined yet. This may be because CBD doesnt enter the bloodstream when it is applied to the skin. However, there are some innovative products that address the problem of low topical bioavailability. For example, there are transdermal patches which allow CBD to enter the bloodstream through the skin and relieve pain and inflammation.
There are several factors that affect the absorption of CBD. Some common ones include:
Therefore, in order to ensure a high bioavailability, there are some ways to boost the amount of CBD to reach your bloodstream. For example, if you are consuming CBD through beverages and edibles, make sure you hold them under your tongue before you swallow them. Also, you can take CBD with fatty meals because it dissolves well in fats and more of it will survive and reach your digestive system.
While there is still ongoing research on the effectiveness of CBD, the results on the bioavailability of CBD so far are promising. However, due to the wide variety of available CBD products, make sure you take your time and do thorough research of the bioavailability rate of each product. This way you can compare your options and decide which method best fits your needs. As you are doing your research, refer back to this guide to help you make your final choice and get the desired results you are looking for.

Worlds first mince pie containing cannabis extract created by Great British Bake Off star from Sheffield and this is the recipe – The Star
Posted: at 5:01 am
Howard Middleton who appeared on the fourth series of the TV contest in 2013 has produced a recipe for a gluten-free, vegan-friendly festive treat that contains CBD oil, derived from cannabis plants.
Howards frangipane-topped creation calls for hemp flour and hemp oil as well as a frosting which includes an optional 10mg of CBD oil, which is sold legally in the UK.
He has previous form for dreaming up such recipes. On the Bake Off, he introduced hemp flour into his baking to the surprise of judge Mary Berry.
Howard, a former Sheffield Council officer, wrote a book called Delicious Gluten Free Baking and is now an online teacher with the company Bake with a Legend.
He said: I love to experiment with my baking to cater for those with intolerances and people who like to try alternative ingredients and new flavours.
With so much time spent inside this year, home-baking has been on the rise and I hope people will give my tasty twist on a mince pie recipe a trial in their kitchens. The recipe calls for hemp flour, coconut flour plus hemp oil and water from a can of chickpeas so your gluten-free and vegan friends can enjoy it, too.
I like to show that it's possible for ingredients to be inclusive and delicious. For adults who want to include CBD oil, there is an optional measure of 10mg for each pie.
Howard has partnered with the retailer ActivelyCBD.com, which sells edible CBD products such as oils, drinks and chocolates, to offer the recipe.
The firm says six million adults in the UK are reported to have tried CBD, or cannabidiol, which by law can only contain a trace amount of THC the chemical in cannabis that makes users high in order to be sold in shops as a health food supplement.
CBD oil has been promoted as having benefits ranging from relieving inflammation and pain to reducing anxiety.
Jonathan Thorpe, Actively CBDs wholesale manager who used to be a chef, said: Howard is a hero of ours thanks to his attitude in the kitchen, working with a variety of different ingredients to suit individuals dietary requirements and tastes.
The mince pie recipe he has created is simply showstopping and your gluten-free and vegan friends can enjoy them too.
The companys products are for sale in the UK to customers aged over 18. People should consult their doctor before consuming CBD, the firm advises.
Howard Middletons CBD Mince Pies
75g plain gluten-free flour, plus extra for rolling
15g coconut flour (or replace with more plain gluten-free flour)
tsp gluten-free baking powder
65g cold vegan butter substitute, cubed (or you can use a mix of this and hard coconut oil)
tsp grated orange or lemon zest
tsp ground cinnamon (optional)
3 4 tbsp orange or lemon juice
12 tsp mincemeat (suitable for vegans and gluten-free)
For the frangipane topping
3 4 tbsp aquafaba (drained water from a can of chickpeas)
A handful of flaked almonds
A little green food colouring
10mg full spectrum CBD oil from ActivelyCBD.com (optional)
To make the pastry, put the flours, icing sugar, ground almonds, salt and baking powder in a mixing bowl and rub in the cubes of vegan fat (or you can pulse in a food processor).
Stir in the zest and cinnamon, then stir in the juice and bring the dough together until it forms a smooth ball.
Roll out on a floured surface (its easiest to do this in batches), then stamp out circles using a 7cm cutter and ease these carefully into a 12-hole shallow tart tin. Chill in the fridge or freezer, whilst you make the frangipane topping.
Preheat the oven to 190C/170C fan.
To make the frangipane topping, beat the oil with the sugar and aquafaba, then stir in the ground almonds and almond extract and mix well.
Put a spoonful of mincemeat in each pastry case, then top with frangipane and level off. Sprinkle with flaked almonds.
Bake for about 15 minutes until the topping is golden and firm and the pastry has browned.
Leave to cool for five minutes in the tin, then remove and finish cooling on a wire rack.
Make a water icing with icing sugar, a little green colouring and water until you have a smooth consistency thats not too runny. If youre aged over 18 and youve spoken to a doctor, add in a serving of full-spectrum CBD oil if you like.
Dust the mince pies with icing sugar, then pipe or drizzle over the green icing artistically.

The 3 Best CBD Gummies Right Now (2020) – South Whidbey Record
Posted: at 5:01 am
CBD comes in many different forms, but there are few as enjoyable to use as CBD-infused gummy candies.
A CBD gummy consists of two components either a CBD isolate extract, or broad-spectrum hemp extract, along with a chewy gummy base. As the gummies dissolve in the digestive tract, the CBD is released and absorbed, just like a CBD oil or capsule.
Unfortunately, not all CBD gummies are created equal. There are a lot of brands offering gummies that simply arent worth the money. Theyre either too weak to provide any real benefits, use harsh synthetic ingredients, or use cheap contaminated hemp.
Here, well cover the three top-rated CBD gummies on the market today, along with some advice for using CBD gummies safely and effectively.
Best CBD Gummies to Choose in 2020:
1. Royal CBD Gummies Editors Pick
Royal CBD gummies are made from a high-grade, broad-spectrum hemp extract and natural gummy base.
Theyre available in two different forms CBD Gummy Dots and CBD Sour Drops. The only difference between these different gummy forms is the flavor and shape of the gummies. The dose of each is the same with your choice of either 10 mg or 25 mg per gummy.
These gummies have won several awards as the best CBD gummies for anxiety, sleep, pain, and several other applications. You can find recommendations on publications such as SA Current, Observer, SF Examiner, CityBeat, VentureBeat, CFAH, and CL Tampa.
The cost for these gummies is below the industry average at around 10 cents per milligram of active CBD. The average cost for a CBD gummy of this quality is closer to 18 cents per milligram.
All CBD products from Royal CBD are third-party tested (results published live on the company website) and come backed by a 30-day satisfaction guarantee.
Pros:
Cons:
2. Gold Bee CBD Gummies Best Value
Gold Bee CBD gummies are made with a vegan-friendly base. This means there are no animal by-products or synthetic ingredients in the formula. Instead of the conventional gelatin base, these gummies use pectin which is a sugary substance produced in the cell walls of plants. It provides a chewy consistency and preserves the gummys active CBD content for long periods of time.
Each gummy delivers 25 milligrams of CBD along and a delicious tropical fruity flavor. A pack of gummies contains 30 individual pieces, with a variety of different flavors in every pack.
Much like Royal CBD, Gold Bee uses organic hemp to make all its products, and opted for a THC-free broad-spectrum extract as the base for these gummies. By including other cannabinoids, such as CBC, CBN, CBG, and THCV, Gold Bee gummies have a stronger and more robust set of benefits than the average CBD gummy made from an isolate.
All Gold Bee CBD products are subject to strict quality control and verified by a third-party lab.
Pros:
Cons:
3. Hemp Bombs Runner Up
Hemp Bombs is a CBD brand with a variety of award-winning CBD products. These gummies stand out as one of the companys most popular products.
This brand sponsors several high-profile MMA athletes who often endorse these gummies as an ideal post-workout snack. They deliver a relatively high dose of CBD per piece (25 mg), which makes it easier to hit high doses between workouts. CBD has been shown to speed recovery, reduce inflammation, and promote cell regeneration after exercise.
Each container holds 30 CBD gummies, each with 25 milligrams of CBD isolate. A pack comes with various tropical flavors, including mango, lemon-lime, strawberry, and raspberry.
How Many Gummies Should I Take?
The optimal dose of CBD depends on a few key elements. The main factors are your size and the strength of the effects youre looking for. Other factors include your gut health (affects absorption), metabolism, and the severity of your symptoms.
You can use a CBD dosage calculator to find the optimal starting dose of CBD and work out how many gummies youll need to reach that dose. Remember, you can always cut gummies into even halves or quarters for a smaller dose.
Most people will start at around 5 mg of CBD. For a standard 25 mg gummy, this is about a quarter of a gummy.
From here, you can build up the dose by a quarter of a gummy until you find the results youre looking for.
For most people, 25 mg is more than enough to experience the benefits of CBD. Some people may need more (up to 75 mg), others less (as low as 5 mg).
How to Get the Most From CBD Gummies
CBD gummies work great on their own for managing pain, inflammation, anxiety, and more. You can get even greater benefit by combining your CBD gummies with other health supplements, diet plans, or lifestyle changes to support the specific effects youre looking for.
A) Use Cannabis Terpenes
Most CBD gummies contain little to no active terpenes. This is because some of these molecules can interfere with the gelatin structure of the gummy base. They act as a solvent, causing the gelatin to become sticky or runny.
These terpenes provide therapeutic effects on their own, and many directly support the effects of the CBD and other cannabinoids.
For this reason, many people who use CBD gummies as their primary source of CBD will also take terpene concentrates alongside their gummies. You can buy a variety of different terpene blends to combine with your CBD gummies for added benefit.
B) Combine Your Gummies With Other Health Supplements
You can also take your CBD gummies alongside other health supplements for added benefit. The supplements you decide to take depend on what symptoms or conditions youre targeting.
Here are a few common examples to consider:
Key Takeaways: Best CBD Gummies in 2020
Its hard not to love a good CBD gummy. You get all the same benefits as a CBD oil or capsule but packaged up in a delicious chewy treat. You can get gummies in just about any flavor, shape, color, and potency imaginable.
The best CBD gummies use a broad-spectrum extract and provide somewhere between 20 and 30 milligrams of CBD per piece.
Gummies make dosing simply because you know exactly how much CBD is in every piece. You can then cut the gummies up into halves or quarters for a smaller dose if needed.
Always source your gummies from reputable brands to avoid wasting your money on ineffective or harmful products.
The best CBD gummy brands to consider in 2020 include Royal CBD, Gold Bee, and Hemp Bombs (UK-only).

CBD oil to relax and fight stress – Flux Magazine
Posted: November 29, 2020 at 6:11 am
words Al Woods
When it comes to stress, a distinction can be made between good and bad stress. Good stress acts like a motor that drives you to keep a clear head in difficult situations and to master challenges.
Bad stress also occurs in situations that are not stressful at all. If constant tension is created by stress, this can favour various diseases, from a simple cold to intestinal disorders to a solid gastric ulcer or burnout syndrome.
Bad stress can also result in damage to the blood vessels, obesity, bruxism (grinding of teeth), heart attack or sleep disorders. CBD has a calming effect and regulates the hormonal balance. It can have a regulating effect on the symptoms of stress.
Some studies and research have proven that CBD oil helps with constant stress. But there is so much that can be done in terms of relaxation with CBD products. Also, we can now easily buy the best CBD weed on JustBob, one of the most recognized online CBD shop in the UK and Europe.
There are physical and psychological stress triggers. Psychological factors are ambition, fear of responsibility or rejection, or only poor time management. Anyone who does not have any balancing activities here, such as sport or relaxation techniques, quickly becomes mentally overloaded.
Physical stress, as our ancestors knew it in life-threatening situations, is instead the exception today.
Cannabidiol (CBD) from the hemp plant works directly on the hormone level and can help reduce stress hormones.
CBD can intervene to regulate stress and on the one hand, hold the hormonal balance and on the other hand, mitigate psychological factors in advance. Those who are calmer before a stressful phase can approach the stress-causing situations more calmly and are less stressed afterwards.
Also, it has a mood-enhancing effect and increases self-esteem through a better mood. Those who see the world more positively are also more relaxed in stressful situations.
CBD oil is available on the internet in different concentrations and of varying quality. It is not always clear whether the product delivers what the advertising promises. That is why it makes sense to do some research before buying, as it is ultimately about your health. The CBD oil test at JustBob is very extensive and meaningful, and it is done by a governmental third -party: the University of Milan.
CBD is an ingredient of the hemp plant, but it does not show any psychoactive effects. It has an anti-cramping, anti-inflammatory and relaxing effect. Due to its primary mode of action, it helps the body to regain rest in stressful situations.
It enables the consumer to counteract better the psychological stress that occurs first. For example, CBD oil influences the stress hormone adrenaline via the endocannabinoid system.
It harmonizes adrenaline levels and also affects cortisol, which is responsible for fight or flight reactions. CBD oil can trigger positive stress in the body and help to cope better with stressful situations.
CBD oil can be of great help in the short term with stress. However, those who suffer from constant anxiety should work on the stress triggers and only use CBD as support. It can relieve symptoms in stress therapy and help to get out of the stress spiral faster.
Have a daily routine
A morning routine helps you start the day more relaxed. For example, the morning routine might consist of getting up at the same time, meditating for a few minutes, going outside, doing some stretching, or writing down a few things that were good the previous day.
Rituals distributed throughout the day help out of adverse situations. These rituals can consist of briefly turning on your favorite song and taking a few deep breaths or distracting yourself with a soothing scent. In stressful moments, the smell of lavender is very relaxing.
Endurance sports are particularly suitable to reduce your stress level for lowering your stress level and counteracting the negative consequences of stress in the long term.
Exercise in the fresh air is an excellent way to increase the energy level again. Sometimes such a change of perspective helps when the ceiling falls on your head. So, think again. It can be a short walk, the jogging lap or just feeling the grass with bare feet, seeing, hearing, smelling and feeling something else.
Breathing works without thinking about it. It is accelerated in fear and can be consciously influenced. Different breathing techniques will help you relax. It is generally beneficial to breathe deeply into your stomach through your nose and then relieve it, perhaps even to exhale audibly.
Meditation helps to achieve inner peace, more serenity and self-confidence. Its a time for yourself, with no distractions.
Many people find it challenging to sit quietly and concentrate on their breathing and just let emerging thoughts go without evaluating them. It takes a lot of patience and practice at the beginning. Over time, you will find inner peace and serenity. Those who meditate have more emotional intelligence and social skills.
CBD can easily be integrated into your daily routine. You can buy your CBD online on JustBob.shop and choose between the large selection of CBD flowers or CBD oils.
