SBC Summit Barcelona marks the return of large-scale industry events – Yogonet International

Posted: June 4, 2021 at 4:10 pm

M

ajor international betting and igaming industry events will finally return when the SBC Summit Barcelona conference and exhibition is staged at Fira de Barcelona from September 21 to 24, 2021.

Opportunities for operators, suppliers, and affiliates to meet and do business face-to-face have been almost non-existent since March 2020, but that is set to change when SBCs flagship event becomes the largest industry gathering in 18 months.

The show is set to bring together decision-makers from major markets around the world under one roof, and high-profile brands such as bet365, Betgenius, Betsson Group, BetConstruct, Kambi, Sportradar, and Yggdrasil Gaming have already confirmed their support and participation in the event.

Rasmus Sojmark, Founder and CEO of SBC, said: Professionals from across the betting and igaming world have really missed major events, so were pleased to be able to stage a conference and trade show that well deliver on the key requirements of our audience, partners and sponsors. Were delighted that so many of the big names in the industry have backed SBC Summit Barcelona, with support coming from both our long-term partners and companies that are working with us for the first time.

The Fira de Barcelona Montjuc venue features an 18,000 m exhibition space, which will be split into five zones: Sports Betting, Casino and Gaming, Payments and Compliance, Safer Gambling, and Affiliate, Marketing, and Media, for SBC Summit Barcelona.

Each zone will be filled with suppliers of products and service providers, including 1xBet, Clever Advertising, Delasport, EPIC Risk Management, Golden Race, Inpay, Microgame, Pinnacle Solution, SofaScore, Synot Games, and W2 among the 200 exhibitors.

The venues six stages will host one of the most comprehensive conference agendas the industry has seen, with a speaker line-up packed with 350 of the most influential senior executives from the worlds of sports betting, igaming, lotteries, responsible gambling, marketing, and technology, said the company in a press release.

In addition to tracks focused on the issues and innovations shaping the future of the industrys main verticals in both established and emerging markets, the conference content will include a Big Stage program featuring a selection of keynotes and major product launches.

Sojmark added: When we developed the format for SBC Summit Barcelona, we wanted to create something that has appeal across the fast-growing global gaming industry but also satisfies the demand for specialized events that focus on particular sectors and territories. Our solution is to stage multiple targeted high-level conferences at the same venue, delivering valuable insights to delegates about their own sectors, while encouraging the exchange of knowledge and ideas between different areas of the industry.

The third crucial element of the SBC Summit Barcelona experience is the networking program, which includes evening parties at some of the citys most stylish venues. Entrance to these parties is included with the event ticket, giving all delegates further opportunities to make important contacts and talk business in informal settings.

New Uncasville Medical Center serves Mohegan tribal members, employees and the public – theday.com

Posted: at 3:50 am

Mohegan Despite its name, its not quite at Mohegan Sun. But its pretty close.

The Mohegan Tribe and Yale New Haven Health on Monday celebrated the official opening of the 8,500-square-foot Uncasville Medical Center at Mohegan Sun, a neighborhood-style clinic providing primary and some specialty care to Mohegan tribal members and employees and the public.

Located on the Mohegan reservation in the former Arooga's restaurant building, its on Sandy Desert Road, off Route 32. Mohegan Sun can be seen in the distance rising above a nearby stand of trees.

The facility, its debut pushed back a year by the COVID-19 pandemic, observed a soft opening a week ago. More than 20 tribal and Yale New Haven Health officials took part in a ceremonial ribbon-cutting Monday.

The Mohegan Tribe has always prioritized the health and well-being of not just our own tribal members and employees, but also our neighbors and surrounding communities, said James Gessner, the Mohegan tribal chairman. Our ongoing partnership with Yale New Haven Health is a testament to our tribes belief in thinking beyond our own borders and caring about our neighbors.

Jeff Hamilton, president and general manager of Mohegan Sun, said he hopes the tribes collaboration with Yale New Haven Health becomes a model that other large employers in the state will emulate.

The Uncasville Medical Center is another representation of our commitment to care and bringing it closer to home in the communities we serve in southeastern Connecticut, said Patrick Green, president and chief executive officer of Lawrence + Memorial Hospital, a Yale New Haven Health affiliate.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, the Mohegan-Yale New Haven Health partnership organized a drive-thru testing station and a mass vaccination site at the casino. Some 35,700 vaccinations have been administered at the site while more than 19,500 people have been tested at the drive-thru, according to Dr. Prathibha Varkey, president and CEO of Yale New Haven Healths Northeast Medical Group.

Rick Coppola, Yale New Haven Health's director of operations, led a tour of the new clinic, describing it as a one-stop shop for those it serves. Primary care physicianshave offices there, while specialty care providers in such areas as endocrinology, OB-GYN, cardiovascular programs for women and pain managementvisit the site on a weekly basis.

The clinic has nine spacious examination rooms and one procedure room.

Coppola said eight to 10 clinicianswork at the site on any given day. About 15 other staff are employed there, he said.

Though not an emergency room, a walk-in area accessible by a separate entrance accommodates patients who arrive in need of immediate, non-life-threatening issues. The walk-in area is staying open to 6 p.m. daily, and eventually will scale up to weekend hours as well, Coppola said.

Slots Temple becomes newest member of the RAiG – Casino Beats

Posted: May 16, 2021 at 12:51 pm

Slots Temple has completed the application process to seal their membership into Responsible Affiliates in Gambling, the independent body aiming to raise standards in the affiliate sector.

Following the successful navigation of the membership process and meeting all the entry criteria, including a third-party social responsibility audit, Slots Temple have been inducted into the RAiG association, alongside a pledge to provide the safest gaming environment for their users.

Fraser Linkleter, CMO of Slots Temple, said of the application: It is essential in todays market that affiliates are as professional and trusting to players as casino operators. Being part of RAiG is a big step for Slots Temple to evidence our commitment to our users and build trust in the brand.

The process itself is stringent to say the least and quite rightly so. Delving deep into an affiliates operation, how we conduct ourselves, how our staff are trained in responsible gambling, how our ongoing processes have been set in place and actioned, and most importantly, how we present ourselves to protect the public.

The igaming affiliate adds that the milestone also has much wider and positive implications, adding extra validity to their recently announced free to enter tournaments and aiding player confidence, while also building the overall business value.

Linkleter continued: Going through this process means we are perfectly positioned for future license applications. Our site and business operations are subsequently in a better place following the development work undertaken after the feedback and recommendations received during the audit procedure. This work will continue and stands us in good stead for our expansions plans.

Set up in 2019, the RAiG aims to foster wider initiatives in the UK affiliate marketing sector to promote social responsibility and help create a safer gambling environment. Slots Temple now join a list of accredited associates including founding member Better Collective, Oddschecker and Racing Post.

Cian Nugent, chairman of RAiG, commented: We are very pleased to welcome Slots Temple as our newest member and are looking forward to working with them to shape the future of compliance in the affiliate market.

In such a fast-moving industry it is of the upmost importance to remember the end-user, the players, and to promote best practices throughout the industry to protect the consumer. This starts with the operators and the affiliate operators, so building our community of members will help to establish the trust which is essential to our philosophy.

‘Runner Runner’ review: Is this the casino movie of your dreams? Film Daily – Film Daily

Posted: at 10:55 pm

Theres some movies that you just wonder how they get made the minute you look at them. For example, Runner Runner has an all-star cast of Justin Timberlake, Ben Affleck, Anthony Mackie, and Gemma Arterton. Directed by The Lincoln Lawyers Brad Furman, it seems like this film should be a five-star hit.

But the reality is good performances cannot help this disaster of a script. The movie is literally so bad youll be wishing you could get started running your own online casino site instead of having to spend anymore time watching the film.

The reality of online casinos is actually quite normal. Casinos are certified to operate by local governments, and offer great rewards for those who are willing to play. Plus, theres numerous sites and online casino mags offering trustworthy reviews of online casinos. Its not some crime-ridden, get-rich-quick scheme like Runner Runner makes it out to be.

Runner Runner tricks you into thinking these Ivy League geniuses would be stupid enough to fall for what is a glorified pyramid scheme relating to gambling. As Richie (Justin Timberlake) helps get his friends involved in these online casino review sites, he sees nothing wrong with how hes making money off of his friends honest work. While pyramid schemes are nothing new, this one in particular seems way too obvious.

Then you get towards the end where Richie works directly under Ben Afflecks Ivan Block, and realizes how everything he did was a scam just to help Block with his criminal enterprise. Nothing about Runner Runner even closely resembles the world of online gambling. Sure, this is a nitpick, but it really takes you out of the movie when its too dramatic.

Broke college student gets involved in an underground gambling scheme that turns into a full-blown criminal enterprise as hes investigated by authorities. Sure, that is a really basic description of 21, but the reality is Runner Runner is literally just this plot. There is no further material to it.

Calling Runner Runner a rip off of casino thriller 21 isnt actually that far off. It feels like the writer of Runner Runner watched 21 once, and then decided to take the entire plot except now instead of playing poker, the lead genius just runs gambling sites. The worst part is none of the humor and charm of 21 transferred into the script for Runner Runner.

What makes Runner Runners cast even more bizarre is how it feels like no one wants to be there. Justin Timberlake was in the height of the release of The 20/20 Experience, Ben Affleck was riding the success of Argo into his casting as Batman, and Anthony Mackie was a year away from joining the MCU.

All three of these actors have proven their chops in other productions, so its definitely not that theyre bad at their jobs. Whether it be their lack of interest in the story, or the bland script, Runner Runner really suffers from their performances. If you need any further proof, check out this one scene from the film so you can understand why we hate the acting.

There are so many better movies starring these actors you can watch. There are even more casino thrillers better than Runner Runner that you can spend your time watching instead. You would literally be better off playing at an online casino than wasting your time watching Runner Runner.

If you do want to earn like the hero of the movie on review sites register in affiliate networks like this one. Just dont take any advice from Richie.
