Canada Attempts to Deepen Trade Ties with the Caribbean – Nearshore Americas
Posted: at 2:10 am
Canada has begun deepening its trade relationships with the Caribbean Community (CARICOM), as the North American country looks for ways to diversify its economy away from the United States.
Canadas Trade Minister Mary Ng recently concluded a trade mission to the Caribbean, where she held extensive talks with regional business leaders and government ministers.
During the trade mission, the Canadian Commercial Corporation signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Guyana, agreeing to invest in the countrys infrastructure, ICT, aerospace and clean technology.
In Jamaica, Ng held discussions with government ministers and entrepreneurs, expressing Canadas desire to invest in Jamaicas food industry.
The United States has become a less reliable trading partner in recent years, said Canadian news magazine Financial Post, adding that both Democratic and Republican lawmakers have developed protectionist streaks.
In 2018, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau vowed that, by 2025, exports to countries other than the US would increase by 50%.
Home to almost 1 million Caribbean descendents, Canada is the second largest source of tourists for the Caribbean. The bilateral trade in goods between Canada and CARICOM members reached $1.9 billion (US$14 billion) in 2019, while trade in services was valued at $4.4 billion (US$3.4 billion), according to the Canadian government.
Many Canadian entrepreneurs have interest in the Caribbeans financial services, natural resources, clean technology, tourism, energy and education sectors.

Johnny Depp’s Lawyer Got Asked About Those Rumors She’s Dating The Pirates Of The Caribbean Star – CinemaBlend
Posted: at 2:10 am
The legal battle between Johnny Depp and Amber Heard has been going on for years, but things have really heated up since the defamation trial began in Virginia. Countless headlines have come out of the courtroom, as the public was able to watch the proceedings from the comfort of their own TV. Theres been an ongoing rumor that Depp is actually dating his lawyer Camille Vasquez, and now she actually got asked about seeing the Pirates of the Caribbean star.
The public has been combing through every second of footage from the Virginia courtroom where Johnny Depp is suing ex-wife Amber Heard for defamation. There are a number of TikToks devoted to Depps lawyer Camille Vasquez, which zoom in on every interaction that she has with her client in court. And TMZ revealed that Vaquez was asked about the rumor by a paparazzi recently while leaving the Virginia courtroom. She kept it professional, not answering verbally and only offering a quick smile to the crowd.
Given the seriousness of the defamation case (including the millions of dollars involved), its somewhat surprising that someone actually asked Camille Vasquez about those Johnny Depp rumors. After all, she seemingly has bigger fish to fry recently cross-examining Amber Heard herself as she returned to the stand.
The rumors surrounding Johnny Depp and Camille Vasquez just show how invested the general public is with the ongoing defamation case in Virginia. This is partly because of the two celebrities involved, but also because the footage is so readily available for fans to consume. And plenty of moments from the trial have gone viral as a result, including the grueling testimonies of both Depp and Amber Heard. Folks are making their opinions known about the trial, both online and in person via Starbucks tip jars.
To get a better understanding of the rumors about Johnny Depp and his lawyer, one only has to head to TikTok. There are countless clips from the courtroom which have made their way online, with people out there examining every interaction between Camille Vasquez and the Edward Scissorhands star. Check it out for yourself below,
The legal battle between Johnny Depp and Amber Heard was kickstarted after the Aquaman actress wrote a 2018 op-ed for the Washington Post about her experience with domestic violence. While it didnt mention her ex-husband by name, it quickly became obvious who she was referencing. Thats when the lawsuits started being thrown around; Depp suing her for millions, while shes counter suing for even more.
While Johnny Depp lost his libel case against the U.K. publication The Sun for referring to him as a wife beater, now the legal battle has come stateside. And its been an explosive time in court, with both actors alleging physical abuse by the other. Well just have to see how the jury ultimately decides.
Johnny Depp recently started booking new movie roles again, and Amber Heard is expected to appear in Aquaman 2 on March 17th, 2023. In the meantime, check out the 2022 movie release dates to plan your next movie experience.

Johnny Depp trial: Pirates of the Caribbean 5 star ‘used earpiece to have lines fed’ – Metro.co.uk
Posted: at 2:10 am
Johnny Depp wore earpiece in Pirates of the Caribbean 5 (Picture: REX / AP)
Johnny Depps former agent has claimed that he was fed lines through an earpiece during his time filming Pirates of the Caribbean 5.
The actor played Captain Jack Sparrow in the beloved franchise, making his debut in 2003 flick The Curse of the Black Pearl, alongside Orlando Bloom, Keira Knightley and Geoffrey Rush.
Appearing via video testimony during day 19 of his defamation trial against Amber Heard, his ex-talent agent Tracey Jacobs who was terminated in 2016 spoke of working together.
When asked by Heards lawyer, Elaine Bredehoft, if she recalled the 58-year-old using earpieces so people could feed him his lines during filming for the 2017 sequel, and if this became a regular thing, she said: Yes.
She also said that representing the star became far more complicated in their last 10 years of working together, due to his unprofessional behavior.
Elaborating, Jacobs continued: Showing up late to set consistently on virtually every movie. I would get yelled at.
I never said to him, Youre a difficult client. I never used those words, but I was very honest with him, and said, Youve got to stop doing this, its hurting you.
And it did.
Jacobs said that Depp did not correct those behaviors after the chat, adding: Initially crews loved him, as he was so great with the crew.
But crews dont like sitting around for hours and hours waiting for the star to turn up.
It also got around town people talk, its a small community and it made people reluctant to use him toward the end.
Fans were first introduced to Captain Jack Sparrow in Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl, in 2003, with the franchise going on to gross a reported $4.5billion (3.4bn) worldwide.
He went on to reprise his role in sequels Dead Mans Chest (2006), At Worlds End (2007), On Stranger Tides (2011) and Dead Men Tell No Tales (2017), and reportedly earned $300million (230m) in that time.
Depp previously appeared on the stand at the beginning of the trial, and spoke of the impact the Disney franchise had on his career.
I had been around for many years really, and people knew who I was and all that. After Pirates one came out, it was a completely different way of life my family and I were being plunged into, he told the court.
That is to say, at our house in Los Angeles, you would have people trying to climb the gates to get in to see Captain Jack Sparrow. You would have people trying to bust in the gates dressed as Captain Jack Sparrow and follow you, or follow you and your family.
When asked how the film turned out in his view, he added: I didnt see it. But I believe that the film did pretty well, apparently, and they wanted to keep going, making more and I was fine to do that.
Its not like you become that person, but if you know that character to the degree that I did because he was not what the writers wrote, so they really werent able to write for him
Once you know the character better than the writers, thats when you have to be true to the character and add your words.
Depp is currently suing Heard for defamation, following a 2018 op-ed piece she wrote in the Washington Post, discussing her experiences with domestic abuse.
He was not mentioned in the piece, but his team argued that it implied that he was physically and sexually violent during their marriage something he has denied.
The Edward Scissorhands star is seeking $50million (40m) in damages, while his ex-wife is counter-suing for $100million (80m), claiming he libeled her by calling her a liar.
The case is being heard at the Fairfax County Court and began last month and is being livestreamed on YouTube.
So far, Depp and Heard have shared their testimony, alongside their former couples therapist, the Aquaman actress sister and make-up artist.
The trial continues.

Pirates of the Caribbean Cast: Where Are They Now? Orlando Bloom, Keira Knightley and More – Us Weekly
Posted: at 2:10 am
A pirates life for me! Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl was released on June 28, 2003 but it was only the beginning for Captain Jack Sparrow, Will Turner and Elizabeth Swann.
The film was based on a Disney theme parks attraction and led to four sequels: Dead Mans Chest (2006), At Worlds End (2007), On Stranger Tides (2011) and Dead Men Tell No Tales (2017).
The franchises first installment was a commercial success, grossing $654.3 million worldwide, making it the fourth-highest grossing film of the year. Johnny Depp received an Oscar nomination and won a Screen Actors Guild Award for his portrayal of Captain Jack Sparrow.
At the time, film critic Roger Ebert said of the 58-year-old actors performance, It can be said that [Depps] performance is original in its every atom. There has never been a pirate, or for that matter a human being, like this in any other movie his behavior shows a lifetime of rehearsal.
The Curse of the Black Pearl was also nominated for four other Academy Awards, including Best Makeup and Best Visual Effects.
The film follows Captain Jack Sparrow and young blacksmith Will Turner (Orlando Bloom) who set out to rescue Elizabeth Swann (Keira Knightley) after she is kidnapped by Captain Barbossa (Geoffrey Rush).
Knightley and Blooms characters were in love, but the pair never dated off screen. In a 2019 interview with Howard Stern, the Lord of the Rings actor admitted that hed once had a crush on both Knightley and his Elizabethtown costar Kirsten Dunst but was way too shy to tell either of them. He also claimed not to date people he works with. I never st where I eat, he told the radio show host. Im not saying I havent fallen in love.
While Knightley and Bloom only appeared in the Pirates franchises first three films, Depp starred in all five. In 2022, amid his ongoing legal battle with ex-wife Amber Heard, however, the Edward Scissorhands actor claimed that he was axed from his Captain Jack Sparrow role as a result of Heards domestic violence allegations.
My opinion is it was related to the accusations that Amber has made, the Charlie and the Chocolate Factory star said in a pre-recorded video deposition, adding that hed spoken to producer Jerry Bruckheimer about the situation. Heards attorney, Elaine Bredehoft, stated that Bruckheimer never directly confirmed that Depps departure from the franchise was due to the Aquaman actresss claims.
Scroll down to see where Bloom, Knightley and the rest of the Pirates of the Caribbean cast is now:

Hans Zimmer Composing ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ Was a ‘Complete Accident’ – Showbiz Cheat Sheet
Posted: at 2:10 am
With such an iconic vibe, fans turn to the Pirates of the Caribbean soundtrack to reminisce about the Disney theme parks and the harrowing tales of Jack Sparrow. Heres what we know about Hans Zimmers musical involvement.
Its a pirates life for Disney fans. Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl tells the story of Jack Sparrow and his infamous Black Pearl. However, it was somewhat inspired by the Walt Disney World and Disneyland theme park attractions of the same name.
After finding box office success, these films then inspired changes to the Pirates of the Caribbean rides, with Disneys theme parks adding Jack Sparrow and other characters to the attraction.
This film is also known for its unique soundtrack, somewhat informed by the theme park ride. The production was composed by Zimmer, the Grammy Award-winning artist behind the Interstellar and Dune soundtracks.
Zimmer wasnt the first choice to compose the Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl soundtrack the feeling was mutual. With Disneys last theme park ride-turned feature film (The Country Bears) flopping, this artist was less than excited to hear about Verbinskis project.
Pirates was a complete accident, Zimmer said during an interview with Cinema Blend. I was working with [director] Gore [Verbinski] on something, and I said to him, So, what are you doing next? Hes going, Well, Im thinking of doing this Pirates movie. Ok, Pirates movie really? Seriously? This is the worst idea Ive ever heard.
I got a phone call from Gore on a Sunday going, Come over, have a look at this thing, he continued. He showed me a movie that I couldnt possibly have imagined when he was talking about it. And I loved how wrong I was and how right he was.
Because he was replacing Alan Silvestri as the films composer, Zimmer had less time than usual to create music. Still, the soundtrack is partly why this Disney film succeeded. Fans shared their appreciation for The Black Pearl, The Medallion Calls, and Will and Elizabeth. Hes a Pirate from this original soundtrack has over 115 million Spotify plays.
Hans Zimmer returned to compose music for other Pirates of the Caribbean movies, including Dead Mans Chest and At Worlds End both are available on the subscription service Disney+. He then passed the composing torch to Geoff Zanelli for Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales.
The Pirates of the Caribbean franchise wouldnt be the only time Zimmer worked with Walt Disney Studios, as this composer also appeared on the soundtrack for The Lion King and its 2019 remake.

A holistic approach to assess the systemic resilience of critical infrastructures: Insights from the Caribbean island of Saint-Martin in the aftermath…
Posted: at 2:10 am
Introduction
Recently, topics related to natural hazards and Critical infrastructure (CI) networks have deeply interested a large number of researchers (e.g. Beckers et al., 2013; Francis & Bekera, 2014; Ouyang, 2014; Queste, 2004; Zhong et al., 2014). However, CI is considered as an important emerging topic that is still under-researched (Fekete, 2020). Generally speaking, CI designate the physical and computer service networks/facilities/assets necessary for the proper functioning of a society and its economy (Gordon & Dion, 2008). Contemporary societies, called societies of risk (Clarke & Beck, 1994; Luhmann, 1996), considerably suffer from the dysfunctions of CI networks (Pederson et al., 2006). Dysfunctions can be exacerbated or even generated by CI interdependencies (Rey, 2015). The latter, meeting economic profitability requirements (Vuillet, 2016), increase the impact of hazards with their propagating and risk-amplifying aspects (Laug et al., 2013). Interdependencies among CI, creating a system-of-systems/network-of-networks (Tolone et al., 2009; Eusgeld et al., 2011), are therefore assiduous drivers of systemic risks (regarded as internal/inherent threats) (figure 1). The failure of a system can have several downstream effects (cascading/domino effect) on one or more additional systems (Kotzanikolaou et al., 2013; Der Sarkissian et al., 2020). As Rinaldi, Peerenboom, and Kelly (2001) have widely developed, interdependencies can be physical, geographic, functional, spatial, cybernetic and logical, and consequently, failures can be cascading, escalating and common cause failures.
In order to reduce systemic risks, a systemic approach for achieving resilience of CI networkof-networks is needed. To situate the logic behind CI systemic resilience, a conceptual discussion of the term resilience is required. Resilience has been a vague buzzword in a variety of policy circles for over a decade now (Heinzlef et al., 2020; Keating & Hanger-Kopp, 2020; B. H. Walker, 2020). The absence of a conventional definition of "resilience" was recognized internationally at the "World Humanitarian Summit (WHS) 2016". The conceptual ambiguity of this term lies in the fact that it has come a long way (Manyena, 2006; Alexander, 2013) before being used by risk sciences with Torry in 1979 and officially adopted by The United Nations International Strategy for Disaster Risk Reduction (UNISDR) in The Hyogo Framework for Action 20052015. In addition, resilience is a multifaceted property and has multiple conceptual foundations that cant be reduced to a single etymological lineage. The same term resilience is used to indicate diametrically opposed systemic capacities in different fields. However, this papers approach to CI systemic resilience integrates wider angles and enables a holistic conceptualization of resilience from an interdisciplinary perspective:
CI systemic resilience draws primarily on specific elements of engineering resilience.A rigid conceptualization of resilience is described herein (Sharifi & Yamagata, 2016) and optimization is a main goal. This equilibrium-centered resilience refers to a hardening of critical infrastructure (increasing robustness) that is meant to prevent disruptions from occurring, or when functionality is impacted, requires rapid recovery to a pre-disturbance state (Coaffee, 2008; Coaffee et al., 2009, 2018).
CI systemic resilience also combines elements from ecological or ecosystem resilience (Guenderson & Holling, 2002). Ecological resilience, thoroughly influenced by Herbert Simons works (Grove, 2018), refers to the ability to undergo shocks, cope with and return not necessarily to the pre-disturbance equilibrium conditions (Gordon, 1978).Resilience here refers to a systemic capacity to absorb shocks, adapt, change and transform to unpredictable disruptions i.e., it allows disturbance to occur and uses adaptation to disturbance (Pelling, 2010) to improve system functioning (Grimm et al., 2000; Grimm et al., 2008). Adaptation is a matter of topological transformation (Cariolet et al., 2019b), a non-fundamental change in the form and function of a system that still preserves its identity and integrity (Holling, 1973; Holling, 2001; Walker & Salt, 2006;Walker & Salt, 2012; Grove, 2018). Ecological resilience does not allow optimization, because a system cannot be understood with predictive certainty due to its complexities (Simon, 1955; Walker & Salt, 2012). In addition, a system has multipleequilibrium states that, instead of optimization, could only provide satisficing yet suboptimal outcomes (Holling, 1996).
CI systemic resilience is influenced by economic resilience. The latter is a collective capability (Dollinger, 1990). CI systemic resilience follows the same principle of all CI operators collaborating, supported by governments, to reach resilience.
Finally, CI systemic resilience also encompasses aspects from psychological resilience: thought in terms of internal capacities to develop along a normative trajectory despite external disturbances (Fleming & Ledogar, 2008).
Consequently, in comparison to urban resilience (Campanella, 2006; Comfort et al., 2010;Lhomme, 2012; Diab, 2017) and its systemic property (Cariolet et al., 2019a), CI systemic resilience is defined as the capacity of multiple CIs to provide altogether trustworthy operations in hostile environments/degraded mode (systemic robustness) and to quickly regain (systemic recovery speed) an optimal level of functioning.
While systemic vulnerability of CI has been widely tackled (e.g. Hellstrm, 2007; Pitilakis et al., 2016; Grangeat, 2016; Tamima & Chouinard, 2017), the systemic resilience of CI has been rarely discussed in literature (e.g. Rey, 2015). In recent studies CI resilience has been generally assessed in silo and not in conjunction with how all CI interact together in the overall network-of-networks. This individual network level approach can make a CI more susceptible to cascading failures (Rogers et al., 2012; Mostafavi, 2017; Helfgott, 2018). Furthermore, neglecting the systemic level masks hidden vulnerabilities, underestimates systemic failures
(Grangeat, 2016; Rehak et al., 2019) and most importantly underrates their geographical and socio-economic extent. Latest literature reviews on CI resilience assessment pinpoint key areas where further research progress is needed. These needs, among others, are for further studies tackling: 1) urban resilience using a systemic approach (November, 2004; Quenault, 2014; Serre & Heinzlef, 2018), 2) interrelations of interoperability and damage propagation to improve overall system resilience (Cagno et al., 2011), 3) integrated frameworks that increase the resilience of systems as a whole (Hochrainer-Stigler et al., 2020), 4) more than one or two CIs at a time to capture interdependent behaviors and cover a systemic scale (Pant et al., 2018), 5) real-world observations and applications in contrast with probabilistic methods (Lundberg & Johansson, 2015), and 6) CI resilience in relation to the community of operators and users (Ouyang, 2014; Hosseini et al., 2016).
In response to the research gaps identified, this article addresses the urgency to extend the paradigm of network-based performance to the network-of-networks level. Accordingly, the systemic resilience of CI is assessed following a temporal dynamic analysis of post-Irma situation with a focus on Saint Martins CIs. The latter are considered as a network-of-networks which calls for a systemic resilience assessment. The graph theory modelling, taking all CI into account along with their interconnectedness, is used for this purpose. The graph theory has proved to be an accurate method for spatially assessing the resilience of interdependent urban networks (Lhomme et al., 2013;Aydin et al., 2018). More specifically, this article tackles the disruption of CI services and monitors their return to operation, considered as the most relevant approach from a societal perspective. The analysis of malfunctions caused by the hurricane and the causes behind it (whether of a technical, organizational and/or of human nature) will make it possible to reconstruct the failures of CIs. This approach is believed to deepen knowledge of vulnerabilities linked to interdependencies between infrastructures and thus facilitate the assessment of systemic resilience. Lessons learnt from Hurricane Irma can offer recommendations underlining the operational interest of studying the systemic resilience of CIs.
The remaining sections of this paper are organized as follows: Section 2 introduces the study area of Saint-Martin, section 3 presents the adopted methodology, section 4 illustrates and discusses the obtained results and section 5 concludes this paper by revealing the main contributions of this work and proposing some research perspectives.

How to use the ArriveCAN app for your Alaska cruise – Royal Caribbean Blog
Posted: at 2:10 am
Going on a cruise ship that docks in Canada? You're going to need to use Canada's mandatory app.
Its currently a requirement to use the governments ArriveCAN platform in order to enter the country for an upcoming Alaskan cruise. For cruises that depart and return to Canada, you will need to complete the form before boarding your cruise ship.
You will also need to complete a form for any Alaskan cruise that includes a port stop in Canada, even if you do not plan to get off the ship.
ArriveCAN is a free, digital platform that requires travelers to enter upcoming travel plans and upload any COVID-19 vaccination certificates. You must create an account and submit the necessary travel information within 72 hours of your arrival into Canada.
Anyone arriving to Canada by road, air, rail or marine vessel is required to provide travel information to the government through ArriveCAN.
ArriveCAN is an app that you can download to your smartphone and submit upcoming travel to Canada. After creating an account and entering your travel information, you will instantly receive a QR code that verifies you have provided the necessary details for any upcoming trips.
Your ArriveCAN forms must be completed before you board any international flight that enters Canada. You will be required to show the QR code in order to board your Canada-bound flight. Additionally, crossing the land border through road or railway will also require the use of ArriveCAN.
In addition, you must submit another ArriveCAN before boarding your cruise if your itinerary includes a return trip to Canada.
I sailed onboard Radiance of the Seas for the first Alaskan sailing of the season and everyone was caught off guard that a second ArriveCAN form was required. We thought we could use the same form required for the air arrival, but the port authorities required us to submit a second marine-entry form.
Below is a step-by-step guide for how to complete the ArriveCAN form for an upcoming cruise.
To start, youll want to download the ArriveCAN app to your phone or tablet to enter your upcoming travel information. This is how you will generate the QR code needed to board your flight, cross the border and board your cruise ship.
The app is available to download for iOS and Android devices.
Although the ArriveCAN app will be the easiest way to complete the forms, you can also access the platform online through their website.
After downloading the app, youll be prompted to create an account. Again, you can also do this online through the ArriveCAN website.
The account will require a password and email. Make sure this is an email you have access to while traveling, as youll receive confirmation of your completed forms. The app will also generate the QR code.
Unless you live in Canada, you will be required to complete TWO forms for ArriveCAN. First, youll need to complete a form for your arrival into the country. Second, you will need to complete a form for entering the country by marine vessel (which includes cruise ships).
Anyone that is entering Canada on a cruise ship from Alaska will need to complete the marine form. This includes one-way cruises from Alaska to Canada and round-trip cruises from Canada.
You can only start your ArriveCAN form within 72 hours of your upcoming cruise embarks, so be sure you add this to your pre-cruise planning list. You will not have access to the form if your cruise is outside of 72 hours.
When you start a new form, youll be prompted to select your reason for traveling. Select Discretionary/optional travel, as this includes tourism.
This option is only available if youre a fully vaccinated foreign national. For those cruising to Alaska from Canada, vaccination is a requirement so this shouldnt come as a surprise.
The ArriveCAN form will next ask how you are entering Canada, whether by air, marine or by land.
In this case, you will want to select Entry by marine specifically for your Alaskan cruise because your cruise ship will technically be entering the country from the United States.
As we mentioned earlier, you should have already completed a separate form prior to your arrival in Canada, whether you arrive by air, rail or road.
ArriveCAN will next ask you to enter marine trip details, which includes the country of original departure, date of embarkation, port of entry and date of arrival.
The country of original departure will be Canada if you are departing from Canada. Those cruising from Alaska will select the United States of America here.
The date of embarkation will be the start date of your cruise.
For port of entry, this will be the first port of arrival in Canada on your itinerary. For example, if you are cruising into Vancouver, you can select Vancouver Cruise Ship Operations.
Date of arrival is the day you will be entering your first Canadian port. If your itinerary is a round trip from Vancouver or one-way from Alaska to Canada, this will likely be the last day of your cruise.
If you stop in Canada before the last day of your cruise, such as Victoria, Canada, you will want to use that date for the arrival date.
The ArriveCAN will now ask if you are traveling on a cruise ship, in which you will select Yes.
You will need to provide your cruise ships name, which should be available in the dropdown selection. It is also optional to provide your stateroom number(s) for your travel group.
Finally, the ArriveCAN form will ask whether your cruise is terminating in Canada. If you are disembarking in a Canadian port, you will want to select yes. Cruises that simply stop in Canada during the sailing will want to select no.
The form will next ask you to provide a phone number for your Primary Phone Number. Theres also a spot to provide a secondary phone number.
You will also need to select whether your official language is English or French.
ArriveCAN will now require you to select or add a traveler to your profile. You are able to add up to 8 travelers on the same trip as long as the people traveling together will be at the same locations.
When entering traveler information, you will need to include your passport information, date of birth and name for each traveler.
After entering your passport information for all travelers, you will be prompted to provide proof of vaccination. Currently, its a requirement to be fully vaccinated and provide proof for leisure travel to Canada.
The ArriveCAN app will ask you to enter information regarding your vaccination, including information regarding the first and second dose. The app will ask which vaccine you received (Pfizer, Moderna, etc), the country where the vaccine was administered, and the date of each vaccine dose youve received.
Finally, you will be asked to upload proof of your vaccination. This can be a JPEG, JPG, PNG or PDF. You can also use your phones camera to take a photo of the vaccination receipt.
You can upload one picture that proves youve received both doses or two separate photos that confirm each dose of the vaccine you received. If you only upload one photo, it will ask if you to confirm if you need to upload a second picture. For example, if you uploaded a picture of your CDC card and it shows both doses, you can select No that you do not need to upload a second photo.
The ArriveCAN app will now ask if you understand the requirements for travel that the Canadian government currently requires. For example, the first bullet on the list states that travelers who are fully-vaccinated with accepted vaccines and any accompanying children under 12 are no longer required to provide proof of a negative test result before entry.
This section covers other requirements for travel for those under 5 and travelers who recently recovered from COVID-19.
Additionally, fully-vaccinated travelers arriving in Canada no longer need to provide a suitable quarantine plan.
Select I Understand after reading through the requirements.
ArriveCAN will now ask if you or anyone traveling with you has recently visited any countries other than Canada in the last 14 days.
For those who traveled from the United States, you will select Yes and then select the arrow, in which you can enter the United States of America.
You might also be prompted to provide an address in Canada, which could be the accommodations or address of the location youre staying before embarking.
Finally, the last step of your form!
The ArriveCAN app will ask if youve had any COVID-19 symptoms that include fever, cough or difficulty breathing. Youll want to select no here unless youre experiencing any symptoms.
After finishing the COVID-19 self-assessment, you will be ready to submit your form.
After submitting, the ArriveCAN app will upload your documentation and required information into its system.
Once this is complete, you will receive a QR code in the app that can be used for boarding your Alaskan cruise. You will also receive an email confirmation that you have successfully completed the forms for your upcoming travels.
In the ArriveCAN app homepage, you can also find the trip summary and the e-receipt of your trip. This will pull up the QR code if you need it again.
If you made a mistake on the form, you can also delete the trip and resubmit the necessary information.
