On the second day of operating Escambia County's first drive-thru testing site for the coronavirus, Ascension Sacred Heart more than doubled the number of people it tested.
Florida health officials announced Escambia County's first confirmed cases of COVID-19 on Monday. Statewide, they announced 32 new COVID-19 cases and a death related to the respiratory disease on Tuesday morning. The state is still working to make testing more widely available, and because test kits and analysis labs are limited, officials have tried to be efficient and judicious when deciding who to test.
Ascension Sacred Heart's model of pre-screening callersfor symptoms and then sending them to a drive-thru testing site for a nasal swab has proven effective and has become a model for other organizations around the state and nation.

Justin Labrato, chief operating officer for Ascension Sacred Heart, said Sacred Heart tested 61 people on Monday and more than doubledthat number Tuesday as word of mouth spread and the work flow was streamlined.
"Since yesterday morning, we've had over 200 people that met criteria, that have driven over to the drive-thru testing center and been swabbed, and that have had their lab (work) sent on to be tested," Labrato said. "The call center itself has already screened 1,000 callers, so about 20% of the callers end up meeting all the criteria that we're following."
Addressing why only 1 in 5 is sent for testing, Labrato said Sacred Heart is closely following guidelines established by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
"I would say the majority of the people have very valid concernsfor example, they've received a letter from a cruise ship they were on but they don't have symptoms. Some of those are being screened out," Labrato said. "Now if they have symptoms tomorrow, we'll test for them. But nationally, there are only so many tests out here we can do, so that's why everyone is using the same criteria to make sure that we're testing the appropriate people right now."
He said he understood that was frustrating to some, and said that the hospital was doing its best to direct callers to appropriate care options.
"There's some people that are just like, 'No, but I really, really feel like I'm sick and I want the test.' We're having to politelytell them that we can't right now if they don't meet the criteria. We're as polite as we can be, and wegive them further information on what they can do as well as give them information on a virtual doctor visit that they could do from their home."

Labrato said the call center is open from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m., and pre-screening calls typically take three to five minutesfor people who are screenedout, and around 10 minutes for people who qualify for testing. He said staff had been managing the call volume well and Sacred Heart was shifting more resources to the call center, but he noted "if I added five more phone lines, they would all be ringing immediately."
Sacred Heart is not publicly disclosing the location of the drive-thru test site in an effort to help ensure people go through the pre-screening process instead of just showing up at the site.
The outdoor testing site is open 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., and Labrato said the time and testing hours were intentionally limited in part for the comfort and safety of medical staff who must wear gloves, face masks, gowns and other protective gear that can be stifling in the heat.
In terms of general protective practice against transmission of COVID-19, most gear is exchanged and disposed between each individual patient. Globally, there have been shortages of face masks and other protective gear. Labrato said Sacred Heart is monitoring those issues daily, but was in good shape so far.
In terms of the testing procedure for citizens, Labrato said lines of cars could be long in the morning, but the testing procedure is generally about five minutes.
"You have the line, and there are screening personnel who are the first line of defense to make sure the person actually called the pre-screening center and that they're registered in the system ... then they drive through the parking lot, and the very first stopis a team that asks for their consent to be able to do the testing, because we've done testing on kids who are 3 years old, up to 80-year-old patients. And so then they go to the final step of the line, and that's where they do a nasal swab."
Labrato said theSacred Heart staff are picking up tests roughly every 30 minutes, taking them to the hospital to be sent of for testing. He said the state is working on setting up more labs to analyze results, but that currently the process takes about a week.
An important function of the call center is to close the loop for patients when results do come in, Labrato said. Sacred Heart is able to contact the patient, their primary care doctorand inthe case of a positive test, the Florida Department of Health, and informeveryone of the results.
Speaking generally to the importance of communication, Labrato said the team has a debriefing every day at 4 p.m. to talk about what worked, what didn't and what could be done to improve. He said Community Health Northwest Florida is expected to open another testing site in the coming days, and that thehealth care organization and many others were at the table to ensure that, under the circumstances, they put in placethe best possible practices to get the best possible outcomes for their patients.
"We only had about 72 hours to pull this together at Sacred Heart," Labrato said. "I have a team of about 70 people who are SacredHeart leaders and clinicians that helped put this together. But with the success we've had in the last two days,we have helped multiple other health systems in Jacksonville, in New York, and we just got one from Flagler (County) on the east side of the state. Everybody is wanting to learn best practices."
To be pre-screened, callthe call center at850-746-2684.

WWE Released The Ascension Very Close To Contract Expiration – Ringside News
Posted: at 6:48 pm
WWE released The Ascension along with Sin Cara and Luke Harper all on the same day. Their non-compete clauses are all running up on March 7th, but The Ascension have already gotten back on the indies.
While speaking to Wrestling Inc, Konnor spoke about his recent WWE release. They only had three months left on their contracts, and they were just sitting at home.
He said that someone tried to get something started before his release, but he didnt elaborate. Konnor didnt the point in trying since WWE had pegged them as enhancement talents.
We only had two more months left. We literally had two more months left. We had been sitting at home for almost nine months. They had literally taken us off the road and we literally almost sat there throughout the last portion of our contract, and it just was one of those things where it was nice to be honest with you, and there was some more backstory to it as to why things kinda went the way that it did.
Basically, I had a discussion with one of the gentlemen there. They were talking about possibly making some things happen and my only question to them was why. There was really no point. There was nothing going on for us. We were clearly there to do one thing and that was to be quote unquote enhancement talent, and thats just the reality of it. So, you just kind of take a step back and youre just like, Man this isnt why I got into this business.
Konnor and Viktor are now on their own. Well have to see whats next for them in the pro wrestling world, but it sounds like their WWE release wasnt that devastating to discover.

Ascension of the Cybermen has pushed the series average up to 6.70. Series 11 concluded its run with this exact same average. So with only one episode left, Series 12 is currently as consistent as Series 11. Not that this is a good thing in this case, as it would mean it would still be joint lowest ranked series of the whole revival.

2nd Opinion: "Ascension of the Cybermen" – Doctor Who TV

JC and Gustaff give their takes on the ninth episode of Series 12.
Its hard to review Doctor Who two-parters, especially finales. With just half the picture, unanswered questions and open plot lines galore, can you really give a proper verdict at this stage? What can I say? Im conflicted. For now, I enjoyed some parts better than others. I have issues, but some of those may be addressed by the next episode. They may not. So
Anyway, the episodes most unexpected subplot focusses on an abandoned baby who grows up to be known as Brendan, a policeman in what appears to be Ireland. Not so strange, until we later see that Brendan comes back to life after being shot and falling off a cliff. And just to add further confusion, by retirement he is seemingly hooked up to a Chameleon Arch. Initially I wondered where this plot was going and why it was taking away valuable time from the main storyline. But by the episodes end I found this plot to actually be the most compelling part of the episode. For all his faults, something I think Chibnall can do well is mystery and the build up (see Fugitive of the Judoon and Broadchurch). I just hope the pay-off is as good.
I found the Doctors scenes this week to be second most interesting. Not only did we get to see an angrier side to her again, but we also had more intrigue as she attempts to find the mysterious Boundary. Ryan is paired with her on this journey, but unfortunately feels completely peripheral again (especially disappointing since this might be his penultimate ever appearance). Making up for that though is seasoned actor Ian McElhinney, as the stupidly named Ko Sharmus (what is it with Chibnalls character and planet names does he use a random word generator?!). A lot of fans seemed to be stunned by the revelation that Gallifrey was revealed to be the destination, but I had already guessed it.
I found the Yaz and Graham parts not as good as the rest, at least for a good chunk of the duration. It didnt help that the duo were joined by a couple of annoying / pointless characters, and some sections just dragged. I was hoping whiny guy with another ridiculous name (Yedlarmi Alex Austin) would die fast, and Discount Rose (Bescot Rhiannon Clements) didnt add anything either. Julie Graham fared a bit better as tough gal Ravio, and I enjoyed her exchanges with Graham. The scene with the gang trapped in space with Cyber body parts hitting the craft could have been even better if it was fully mined for horror (imagine a Cyberman trying to break in to the ship). This led to a silly scene where they perfectly navigate into the Cybership docking bay.
As for the Cybermen, I was pleased the Doctor pointed out the inherent contradiction in Ashads being. As I said last week, a Cyberman with emotions goes against the monsters very nature, and Im still not sure on that. Im also left wondering why pure emotionless Cybermen would allow him to lead them. Maybe thatll be answered next time? Ashad was at least a pretty intimidating villain, even if it felt his bark was bigger than his bite at times.
The new Cyber design is a visually cool mash-up of old and new, but Ive never been a huge fan of the stompy theatrics that the revival era often resorts to. I much preferred the creepier way Moffat employed them last in World Enough & Time. The Cyberdrones were laughably stupid, even if they did at least hit some of their targets (eventually). After his absence last week, I was pleased to see Nick Briggs back as the Cyber voices. Sadly, the same cannot be said for the Cyberman theme. A shame Segun Akinola couldnt at least tip his hat to it, rather than the Terminator-esque mix we have now.
The cliffhanger fell a little flat I felt, as the Masters return was already intentionally leaked by the BBC (On the cast list as an obvious anagram) and I suspected Gallifreys return all along. Ascension is certainly better than Series 11s attempt at a finale though. It still contains some familiar Chibnall flaws such as: clunky dialogue (3 scenes in succession deliver nothing but exposition), too many superfluous characters (again), reduced companion roles (again), but its a pretty encouraging start. Part 2 has a hell of a lot of work to do though. Can it possibly deliver?
Ive always wanted to see the inside of a Cyber War.
Doctor Who crashed onto our screens for the penultimate episode and it sure was a doozy. Cybermen finales are not a new thing, with Series Ten featuring them as genuine threats in a clever and chilling body horror story, as did Series Two where they are made to look like fools next to the Daleks. Given the aforementioned, its safe to say that whenever the Cybermen have appeared in the new era, whether it be in finales or standalone episodes, they usually arent dealt with in a very dignified manner. Ascension of the Cybermen goes out of its way to change all that.
Emotional Inhibitors? Glitter Guns? Force Fields?
All gone!
Introduced in the first couple minutes and promptly rendered useless.
TARDIS?
Too far away!
Something this episode does extremely well is raising the stakes and continuously building the tension. The first action sequence establishes just how frightfully powerful the Cybermen in this era are, even if they are just coming off a major loss. Most of their victims are nameless redshirts I grant you, but points for effort.
I particularly enjoyed the exploration of the Lone Cybermens motives and his quest to revive the Cyber Army despite being a human in a metal body. Ashad states that the same qualities which make him a threat are antithetical to the nature of Cybermen. Ironically; giving this Cyberman emotions and individuality help upgrade him into a much savvier foe. You can see this when Ethan attempts to give himself up to spare his friend, but Ashad realizes hes lying and guns down the other one instead. No normal Cyberman wouldve managed this.
Moving onto the characters, I cant say I remembered any of them other than Ethan (who I Googled). No one does anything to stand out. It also doesnt help that the back-story for every single one of these guest stars is exactly the same if they are even mentioned. Loved ones killed by Cybermen, born in war, yada, yada, yada. Given that the Cyber War is a massive conflict in Doctor Who and the humans suffered heavily for years and years, adding a turncoat-esque character, be it as a prisoner or saboteur, amongst the ragtag group wouldve done wonders for their entertainment potential.
Ascension of the Cybermen also works wonders for Jodies Doctor. Were almost two seasons in and she barely has any character development apart from Im socially awkward. Here the episode pushes Thirteen to the limit and it shows. The Doctor isnt mildly annoyed when her companions point out that Plan A didnt work, she is livid. She snaps at them like she knows they have the same value as a Sonic Screwdriver pointed at a wooden door. Instead of leaving the three sacks of convertible Cyber-meat behind in the TARDIS, the Doctor forgets about this piece of obviousness and puts Graham, Yaz and Ryan in harms way by bringing them along. She shouts at them to leave when they try to win her over with the Power of Friendship. The most notable piece of evidence is in the Doctors emotionless reaction to learning that nobody in the settlement is a soldier who can actually be of some help to her, just scared useless civilians trying to survive. These noticeable ticks sound out of character for the Doctor, but unlike other times there is a narrative reason for these and it helps improve the character as opposed to just doing something because the script calls for it.
That isnt to say this episode isnt littered with the usual Chris Chibnall idiotic decision-making. Instead of using the stolen Cybership to get to the TARDIS, a vehicle that would allow her to collect the others and head to the Boundary, the Doctor sticks with the Cybership, leaving two of her three friends in mortal danger.
And while were on the topic, why didnt she just park the TARDIS in the settlement and evacuated civilians immediately. A similar error is made by the writer of Praxeus by having the Doctor park her TARDIS so far away from shelter that her critically injured passenger needs to be carried halfway across the beach just to receive medical attention.
But its Yaz who wins the prize for best written companion this week when she chooses not to steal a shuttle to get off the Cybership, or even the ship Ashad arrived in once he and his two Cybermen have left, but instead insist on taking a ship full of Cybermen to the Boundary because theres no other way. Way to go Yaz! Thats my girl! Lets not forget that triggering the self-destruct sequence or even blowing up the ship would kill themselves, but it would also guarantee fewer Cybermen for the Doctor to worry about next week. Plus it would be a very selfless/heroic beat to go out on.
Ill be honest, I found most of the Brendan storyline not only dull and disconnected from the main plot, but every time we did cut to a particular scene with him, the momentum in the A-plot just deflated. This plot thread feels as though it would have worked better had it been a little something extra in every other episode much like how Missys scenes in the Nethersphere were sprinkled into episodes of Series 8. I only became fully invested during the last scene and only because I found it odd that Brendan was the only one aged. The rest of the build up is nice, but it also takes up a quarter of the runtime. Likewise with the Boundary crossing near the end of the episode. Its only when the Master shows up to tease next weeks episode that I got goosebumps.
The Timeless Children, at this point, is unfortunately mostly feared by me. There are so many plot points that need to be tied up including the Ruth Doctor (I dont see any space for her to show up next week), the Masters prophecy, the Timeless Children, Brendans storyline and the Cybermens rise to power. Not to mention that 50+ years of mythology is on the verge of an upgrade and Chris Chibnall, a writer whose vast contribution to Doctor Who since its resurrection hasnt even come close to breaking into the Top 20 Most Popular Doctor Who stories on this website, is the one holding the blow torch

Sanders Ascension Taking a Toll on Health Care Stocks – Investopedia
Posted: February 27, 2020 at 2:19 am
The SPDR Select Sector Health Care ETF (XLV) sold off more than 3% in sympathy with broad benchmarks in Monday's session, but it's likely that Bernie Sanders' ascension to Democratic front-runner contributed to the decline. The candidate has called for a dismantling of America's private health care system, replaced by a government-run Medicare-for-All. Pundits don't believe that this legislation would pass congressional muster, but we've learned in the past four years to expect the unexpected from Washington D.C.
The health care sector has been under fire since the election of Barrack Obama in 2008, with the original legislative debate going through all sorts of gyrations intended to wrest power from the industry. The Affordable Care Act, also known as Obamacare, rose from the ashes of that dispute, but the current front-runner for the Democratic nomination wants to throw out what remains of the now-popular law and take sick Americans on a journey into unknown territory.
Health care providers have come under periodic fire in the last decade, but their stocks have shaken off those headwinds, booking healthy profits under the new law. However, key players that include Dow component UnitedHealth Group Incorporated (UNH) have walked away from the program, instead focusing their efforts on more profitable employer and group health care plans. High-deductible coverage options have exploded all across the industry during the same period, infuriating policyholders while making a government-run solution seem more palatable.
The SPDR Select Sector Health Care ETF tested the 2001 low at $21.00 in 2009, finding support 63 cents above that level, ahead of a recovery wave that reached the 2008 rally high at $37.89 in 2012. The subsequent breakout attracted intense buying interest, lifting the fund into the mid-$70s in the third quarter of 2015. A modest correction into 2016 ended in the mid-$50s, giving way to a slow-motion uptick that reached new highs in the second half of 2017.
Channeled price action into January 2020 mounted the triple digits at the same time that the stock hit channel resistance, yielding a trading range bounded by support at the 50-day exponential moving average (EMA) and psychological $100 level. The fund sold off to support on Monday and is trading lower by a few cents on Tuesday, waiting for the next large-scale impulse, higher or lower. A breakdown would bring 2019 support in the low $90s into play, while the 200-day EMA in the upper $80s marked a major line in the sand for sector bulls.
UnitedHealth Group hit a seven-year low at $14.51 in the fourth quarter of 2008 and turned higher, completing a round trip into the 2005 rally high in the mid-$60s in 2013. The subsequent breakout gathered momentum into the 2015 high at $125.99, ahead of a one-day correction during the August mini flash crash. The stock rallied to a new high in the second quarter of 2016 and posted steady gains into the December 2018 high at $287.94.
It was a tough year in 2019 for the health care giant, with a multi-wave sell-off finally ending at an 18-month low near $200 in April 2019. A third quarter decline posted a slightly higher low on the first trading day of October, completing a double bottom reversal that set the stage for a sustained uptick into 2018 resistance The stock broke out at year end, lifting into an all-time high at $306.71 last week.
This week's decline has triggered a failed breakout over the 2018 high and psychological $300 level, igniting sell signals that raise the odds for a test at the narrowly aligned February low and 200-day EMA between $265 and $270. Ominously for bulls, the Oct. 15 gap between $220 and $232 remained unfilled and could generate a magnetic target if dip buyers don't show up at short-term support.
Health care stocks are retreating in reaction to macro headwinds and the rise of Bernie Sanders in the 2020 presidential race.

SAGINAW, MI - A Saginaw hospital is offering a new fast and accurate option for cancer treatments.
Ascension St. Marys Seton Cancer Institute in Saginaw, 800 S. Washington, has announced the addition of a new TrueBeam Radiotherapy System as a part of Ascensions $50 million investment in its northern health ministries.
TrueBeam enables us to treat even the most challenging cases with tremendous speed and precision, said Dr. Salam Yanek, radiation oncologist at Ascension St. Marys Seton Cancer Institute. This system will make it possible for us to offer fast, more targeted treatments for tumors, even those that move when the patient breathes, such as lung tumors.
The TrueBeam system is engineered to deliver powerful cancer treatments with pinpoint accuracy and precision, according to Ascension. The technology allows cancer treatment teams to select the optimal treatment for different types of cancer while enabling them to use advanced radiotherapy options, as needed.
Dr. Charbel Habib, medical physicist at Ascension St. Marys Seton Cancer Institute and clinical assistant professor at Central Michigan University School of Medicine said, This evolutionary technology is able to automatically synchronize imaging, beam shaping and dose delivery, while performing accuracy checks every ten milliseconds throughout the entire treatment. It represents a quantum leap in our ability to help people fight cancer.
