Donald Trump theorised that Taylor Swifts liberal leanings may be an act as he praised her talent and beauty, according to a book.
For years Swift, 34, maintained a determined silence on political issues, leading critics to claim she was a secret Republican. However, in 2018 she broke this silence to endorse Democratic Senate candidates in Tennessee, and two years later she backed Joe Biden for president and accused Trump of stoking the fires of white supremacy.
Trump, who usually requires little encouragement to fire back at his critics, adopted a more conciliatory approach to the worlds most popular musician.
Swift, whose Eras tour arrived in the UK on Friday with a concert at Murrayfield Stadium in Edinburgh, was described by the former president as unusually beautiful
