Lady Gaga makes an epic return to the Las Vegas Strip this week – Las Vegas Sun

One of the most successful headlining residencies of the modern era of Las Vegas entertainment returns to Park MGM this week. Lady Gagas Jazz & Piano concert production, featuring alternate versions of her biggest hits and American Songbook classics with a retro big-band feel, reopens on October 14 at Park Theater.

With fellow pop superstar Bruno Mars playing plenty of shows at Park Theater since July, MGM Resorts will now have two of its biggest live entertainment draws back on the books.

This is truly a special time for the destination and for Lady Gagas fans as she returns to the Las Vegas stage for the first time in more than 18 months, said Chris Baldizan, MGM Resorts' executive vice president of entertainment. We are honored that Lady Gaga calls Park MGM home and look forward to one of our generations most talented entertainers performing for all of her little monsters.

Gagas Vegas comeback shows were announced on August 23, starting on October 14 and continuing with eight more shows through October 31. Ticket prices opened on August 28 at $90 at Ticketmaster outlets and at gagavegas.com. The show requires guests to provide either proof of a negative COVID test within 72 hours of the event or full vaccination for entry. More safety information can be found at parkmgm.com.

Gaga last performed in Las Vegas on New Years Eve 2019, also a Jazz & Piano show. She originally opened the concert tour-style Enigma residency production in December 2018 with the stripped-down Jazz & Piano portion following soon after.

Even among the galaxy of stars performing headlining shows on the Las Vegas Strip, Gaga is unique as an Academy Award and Golden Globe winner, and has also amassed 12 Grammys. She has sold approximately 35 million albums globally and tallied 42 billion streams, making her one of the best-selling musical artists of all time. Her sixth studio album Chromatica was released in May of last year and became her sixth consecutive #1 album on the Billboard 200 chart.

She followed that release with her second collaboration with the legendary Tony Bennett, Love For Sale, which was released on October 1. Gaga and Bennett performed together twice in August at Radio City Music Hall, events expected to be his final live performances as Bennett has announced his retirement due to his battle with Alzheimers disease.

On a recent appearance on 60 Minutes, Gaga spoke about continuing to perform and collaborate with Bennett during his illness: "Its emotional. Its hard to watch somebody change. I think whats been beautiful about this, and whats been challenging, is to see how it affects him in some ways but to see how it doesnt affect his talent. I think he really pushed through something to give the world the gift of knowing that things can change and you can still be magnificent."

At 95, Bennett set a Guinness World Record as the oldest person to release an album of new material. In Las Vegas, he famously took the stage unannounced with Gaga at Park Theater in January 2019 to launch her Jazz & Piano residency.
