The Central Elections Committee said Tuesday morning that the right-wing Im Tirtzu organization is disseminating false information regarding the app used by election transparency observers.

Members of Im Tirtzu, which has ties to the Likud party, claimed that the app is out of order, which is harming oversight at the polls. The committee said in a statement that the app has been functioning properly since the morning, and that Im Tirtzu's claims are "a continuation of the attempts to undermine public faith in the election results and in the committee."

The committee's director general, Orly Ades, said that "During this election, we are dealing with stubborn attempts to cast doubt on the credibility of the voting process. These developments are well-planned and are coming from political figures as well."

Israelis are heading to the polls for their fourth election in about two years. Since the polls opened Tuesday morning, Meretz, New Hope and Religious Zionism have told the Central Elections Committee that their voting slips have disappeared from stations throughout the country.

New Hope blamed Likud activists for removing their slips in Haifa, Yavneh, Ramle and Sderot. Meretz said that their slips have been removed from stations in Tel Aviv and Jerusalem, claiming that it is an attempt to weaken the center-left and boost Netanyahu's bloc.

Police said that since the morning, they have checked a few instances of "suspicion of voting fraud" and illegal campaigning near voting stations.
