Its been more than just a few months since weve seen Cyberpunk 2077 release, and it quickly crashed and burned before everyones eyes. The game, while a roaring success in terms of pre-orders and overall sold copies, created a rift between the industry darlings CD Projekt RED and the general mainstream gaming audience. The latter accused (rightfully so) CD Projekt RED of overpromising and overhyping Cyberpunk 2077 to no end even if the game is in no way, shape or form ready for shipping yet. This decision to release early may have ended the developers good standing with the general public for good.

That said, for the time being, it would seem that CD Projekt RED is still fully committed to having Cyberpunk 2077 in a proper working state, free from the many bugs and glitches that have plagued it since its inception, as well as make up for all the many broken promises they shipped the game with. The latest update for the game, version 1.3, was part of the studios efforts. Its also the biggest update ever released, totaling 40GB on PC and adding key features like zoomed-out mini maps and allowing for reallocation of Perk points. A few DLC cosmetics were also part of the update, including tw new jackets and a brand-new car.

However, as the title suggests, 1.3 did not only add these things but also kept the flame alive for a possible multiplayer component for Cyberpunk 2077. First highlighted by Tyler McVicker, while it was notable that version 1.3 added a ton of changes to Cyberpunks janky engine, some lines relating to multiplayer gyms were also found in the update. In addition to this, various lines relating to possible expansions were there as well.

Those whove been following Cyberpunk 2077 for a while now will know that CD Projekt RED was planning a multiplayer component for the game, one thats separate from the single-player experience in order to assuage everyones fears of microtransactions within the game. However, it was reconsidered after the game was blown wide open by the many bugs, glitches and missing features that players noticed for Cyberpunk 2077. This latest update points to the opposite, however, and it remains to be seen if we will see a Cyberpunk 2077 multiplayer component some time in the future.
