Under the amended compact, that agency will have oversight to ensure regulatory compliance and the integrity of event wagering, according to the announcement.

The introduction of sports gambling atPotawatomi Hotel &Casino comes after the tribe last summer reported a steep decline in revenue due to theCOVID-19 pandemic.

The casinowon at least $293 million from gamblers during the 12-month period that ended June 30, a figure that is more than 28% below its 2019 total, according to tax records reviewed by the Journal Sentinel.

The 2020 win was at least $292 million.

The tribe won more than $400 million through bets taken at its Milwaukee slot machines, off-track betting windows and a range of table games that includes poker, craps and blackjack during the year that ended June 30, 2019.
