RALEIGH Help Asheville Bears is offering a $5,000 reward in exchange for information leading to the arrest of the person or persons responsible for fatally shooing a quarter horse in the head.

Poacher Strike Force (PSF) private investigators are prepared to assist the Rutherford County Sheriffs Office to bring who is responsible to justice. Blackjack, a 21-year-old horse belonging to Robert Hill in Rutherfordton, was killed at the familys farm on 759 Arrowood Road during the early morning hours on Monday, March 22. The motive is unknown at this time. Those who may have any information on this incident are urged to call the tip line.

Information leading to an arrest in this case is eligible for the Help Asheville Bears $5,000 reward. Tipsters can remain anonymous. Call 855-SOS-BEAR or 877-PSF-TIPS.

Through the Help Asheville Bears reward offering system, Poacher Strike Force investigators have been able to assist local law enforcement make arrests in poaching incidents. Most recently, the team awarded $10,000 to a tipster in West Virginia following a successful arrest in a bear poaching case.

Poacher Strike Force is working to stop the rampant poaching taking place around the country, and this is a high priority incident in the Rutherford County area. Tips from the public assist investigators make arrests in poaching incidents and will be compensated. Reports of additional stabbings along the North Carolina and South Carolina border are also under investigation. With the support of private donors, the PSF team of former police, wildlife investigators, military elite & woodsmen are committed to providing additional resources to assist local law enforcement make arrests in poaching incidents.
