Liberty Mutual Insurance, a Boston-based global property and casualty insurer, announced Tuesday that it will renew its sponsorship of the Boston Pops Fourth of July Fireworks display and concert through 2015.

The three-year sponsorship agreement is with Boston 4 Celebrations, the organization that produces an event known as The Boston Pops Fireworks Spectacular. The companys commitment totals about $8 million, Liberty Mutual Insurance said.

The new sponsorship agreement will preserve a 39-year tradition that offers a free concert to an estimated 500,000 people who visit the Charles River Esplanade on the Fourth of July.

Liberty Mutual has been the events sponsor since 2005.

This years plan calls for Academy Award and Grammy Award-winning singer Jennifer Hudson to join conductor Keith Lockhart and the Boston Pops Esplanade Orchestra. Actor Michael Chiklis, a Lowell native, is scheduled to be the emcee.

In a statement, Liberty Mutual chief executive and president David Long said, In Liberty Mutual Insurances 100th anniversary year, we could not imagine a better time to reaffirm our support for Bostons Fourth of July tradition.
