The Book of Love
*This film was created for the National Coalition Against Censorship* The film centers around two sisters, one of whom is a conservative religious Hindu, and the other who is more open-minded and wants to learn about other religions. The open-minded sister brings home a book one day with Christian symbols on it, which leads the first sister to rage. Despite the fundamentalism of so many ardently religious peoples, however, most religious texts, as demonstrated at the end of the film, encourage kindness towards others, analyzed in the film. The film features me as the elder sister, Nikita Joshi as the younger sister, and the song "Haratanaya Sree" by Veena Kinhal. I created this film as a medium for understanding the hatred that pervades our diverse society, and to realize how sorrowful the hatred truly is. I find the close-mindedness despicable, and hope that through art, literature, and speech, one day the distrust and dislike between people of varying religious backgrounds will be gone. "The Book of Love" was created at our home, conceived, written, filmed, and edited entirely by myself with some assistance from my younger sister, Nikita.From:CelebratePdomViews:0 0ratingsTime:03:54More inFilm Animation
