Has Nickelback made worst song, video of all time?

Just when you thought Nickelback couldn't get any worse, they have delivered one of the worst songs and video clips ever produced by a major label.

Or one of the best, if you think Chad Kroeger and co. just might be satirical geniuses.

Ladies and gentleman, Nickelback have gone disco-funk, with the breathtakingly cheesy and sleazyShe Keeps Me Up, an abomination so politically incorrect it views like a horrific window into one of Kroeger's dreams.

Just ponder the chorus, although you have been warned: for all its awfulness it is an earworm. "Funky little monkey / she's a twisted trickster / everybody wants to be the sister's mister / coca cola rollercoaster / love her even though I'm not supposed to."

Where to start? Even if you forget the hair-rock overtones of forbidden interracial love, the ham-fisted product placement, the clunky and try-hard rhyming it is absolute nonsense and sounds so utterly disposable the cola drink mentioned could be an aged fine wine by comparison.

Then there's the deeply creepy clip, which begins with two preppy young women being invited into a low profile club by a bouncer with the words "come on children". Inside they join dozens of girls because that's what they are joyously dancing to Chad and the boys, besuited, all in dark glasses, playing funk riffs that sound borrowed from sound FX CDs produced in 1988.

Throughout, a grotesquely grinning Kroeger sings lines to the girls like "she smells just like a flower" and "I love when she says 'what's wrong with right here on the counter'". Then a young black singer taunts him with "I keep you up", to which the Kroeger agrees "she keeps me up".

No, nooooooo.

Or it could all be an extreme exercise in self-parody. You decide. But either way, once viewed this cannot be unseen.
