It might have made him rich and famous, but Kid Rock doesn't have a lot of time for rap-rock these days - nor for "political correctness" (his words).

Speaking to The Guardian, the 43-year-old star was dismissive of the genre and well aware that his choice of criticism was not OK.

"Rap-rock was what people wanted at the time, and they still love those songs at shows," he said. "But it turned into a lot of bullshit and it turned out to be pretty gay.

"If someone says you can't say 'gay' like that you tell them to go f**k themselves. You're not going to get anything politically correct out of me."

The man behind hits such as Bawitdaba, Cowboy and All Summer Long also revealed that he has done more than alright out of rap-rock.

"I'm not just wealthy, I'm loaded," he boasted. "I can say that because I'm not embarrassed I've made a f**k-ton of money, but I've never made a dishonest dollar.

"I try to do right by the people around me."
