SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- Former U.S. Rep. Ron Paul, who vied for the Republican Party nomination during the 2012 presidential campaign, will speak at Syracuse University on March 26.

The event is hosted by the College Republicans at Syracuse University. It starts at 7:30 p.m. and costs $5 for the public, according to David Gay, a former Syracuse Common Council candidate who supported Paul's presidential campaign.

Tickets are free for Syracuse University students and faculty, Gay wrote on his Facebook page.

Paul, of Texas, served in Congress during three different stints. He's a former United States Air Force officer and gynecologist and obstetrician. He retired from Congress in 2013.
